Mosques Will Not Receive Federal Money in Italy

Mohammed in Hell, Giovanni da Modena, Church of St. Petronio

Italian government spends 8% of total revenue towards religious organizations. A new bill, approved by the cabinet and subject to parliament’s approval will not include mosques in the benefit.

Currently, only the followers of Catholicism, Judaism, Lutherans, Evangelists and 7th-day Adventists receive the money. The bill will expand the allocation and will include Hindu and Buddhist temples, Greek Orthodox churches and Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The recent visit of Libya’s leader Gaddafi and his remarks have influenced the lawmakers to take such decision.

More importantly, Islam is not classified as an established religion in Italy. The country correctly believes Imams’ sermons, polygamy and failure to provide women’s rights in Muslim community disqualify Islam as a religion – therefore should not receive the federal money. There is only one official mosque in Rome but Muslims do have about 137 unofficial mosques.

There are about 1 to 1.5 million Muslims in Italy and a vast number of illegal immigrants.

Italy has a long history of realizing Islam’s true color. About 700 years ago, the famous poet and thinker Dante envisioned Mohammed, the prophet of Islam as a sinner who was rotting in hell.

In Divine Comedy, Dante described how he met Mohammed and his son-in-law Ali in the hell,

Between his legs were hanging down his entrails;
His heart was visible, and the dismal sack
That maketh excrement of what is eaten.

While I was all absorbed in seeing him,
He looked at me, and opened with his hands
His bosom, saying: “See now how I rend me;

How mutilated, see, is Mahomet;
In front of me doth Ali weeping go,
Cleft in the face from forelock unto chin;

Dante’s realization was later drawn by an artist Giovanni da Modena (as shown in the picture).

In the recent years, a journalist Oriana Fellaci wrote books and articles criticizing Islam. She warned Europe about Islam and coined the term “Eurabia”, a word that describes the future of Islamic Europe.

The sentiment of the Italian people is not very favorable to Islam either. A recent poll, organized by the interior ministry, shows 55.5 percent people believe the immigrants from Islamic countries are more “Problematic” than any other country.

  1. THIS IS NOT RIGHT, I SAY GIVE SOME MONEY TO MOSQUES TO BE BOUGHT AND DESTROYED AND CHURCHES OR SYNAGOGUES OR TEMPLES ERECTED ON THOSE FILTHIED SITES!

    AND TRUCK TICKETS TO RETURN THOSE MUSLIMS BACK TO THEIR DAR U SALLAM HELL.

  2. Muhammad was laughing at muslims while rotting in hell on how stupid muslims are to believe all the lies he invented, if he knew there would be university and the world will be more advance than 7th century arabian desert, im sure he will not saying the stupid things in hadits or in quran.

    Hope other western countries will set the new standard to disqualify islam as a religion like Imams’ sermons, polygamy and failure to provide women’s rights in Muslim community.

  5. Well done Italy!

    Islam should be banned internationally and muhammad declared as an all time evil person (even more than Hitler). Islam has done more harm to its own followers (muslims) than to any other religion or country. Muhammad's poisonous ideology has been the root cause of 1400 years of suffering & bloodshed all over the world. Over 250 million deaths can be attributed to this 'religion of peace' in the last 1400 years.

  6. That's correct, but I would not be so optimistic….they didn't get any money just because they were not able to put together a committee that was recognized by all Muslim groups….they are all blackmailed by the Muslim Brotherhood group that has little relevance in the Italy but is powerful in terms of money…so…because the Italian government doesn't recognize the Muslim authority….they took the right decision….but of course…it is a signal….(powerful one)..but however…one day or the other they will get "our" money….anyway…the saudis are still paying…

  8. A small correction: It was not Orian Fallacci that popularized the term Eurabia. It was Bat Yeor.

  16. Finally a country that says Islam is not a religion. Go Italy!!!

  17. Bravo…ben fatto Italia.Ci rende orgogliosi

  18. British colonized Indian sub-continent for almost 150 years, even though they enslaved the country & brought the christian missonaries, atleast they made some progress in developing several industries, setting up economic setup, infra-structure, education & so-on.

    Even the current queen of England, apologised for the events of 'Jalianwala Bagh' massacre & other british atrocities committed before Indian independence…. Atleast the british repent their misdeeds committed across the globe..

    But for the filthy muslims, they doesnt even have the least of the curtesy to call 'Ghoris' & 'Ghaznis' as filthy barbarians, instead people like 'Zaid Hamid' mislead Pakis to still believe that "the muslims ruled the sub-continent for 1000 years they will repeat it again'"…

    Stupid 'Zaid Hamid' doesn't understand that this 21st century world, & already Pakis have lost 3 wars against India decisively, & he is pushing innocent poor Pakis to this 'Day dreaming of wonderland', even though poor Pakis are not able to afford 2 square meals per day….

    If it was not for the 'USA' to free feed & arm the Pakis against India, Pakistan would have been begging before the arab world & UN for the survival of its citizens by this time….

  19. @ Psuedo & Islam devotee…

    What does the history books of Pakistan under the influence of islam say ?

    There history starts only from 7th Century,, before that everything is considered 'Jahiliyah'… Even the great empires of Magadha, Maurya & Guptas of Indian sub-continent doesnt come in to picture…

    During Gupta period, Raja Dahir of Sindh or for that matter any Indian kings didnt give much importance to naval forces & virtually there wasn't any navy as such.. some sea pirates attack arab ships on whom Indian kings had no control over, & by giving a false excuse 'Mir Qasim' of Iraq, attacks the Sindh region of India, beginning the hindu holocaust in the later centuries to come…

    Islam didn't come with fruits/flowers to India bringing peaceful message.. It came with 'Quran' in one hand & 'Sword' in the other…

    Same is the case with 'Jews of Israel' also. No matter how much u try to deceive non-muslims, the 'Taqiyyah' cannot be hidden….

    There is an old proverb in South India… 'Even if a Turk is very delicate & smooth like the butter, still do not trust him'…..

  20. Well alright! 'Islamophobia' as an ignorantly coined term is no longer carrying any weight, Europe is on the verge of another renaissance, go Italy! We got your back!

  21. Late but anyway good decision…

  22. I'm happy my country did the thing right.

    Anyway, the article is incorrect: the Italian government does not spend 8% towards religious institutions, rather the citizen is entitled to direct 0,8% (not 8%) of his own taxes towards religious (or secular, btw) organizations.
