Converted Muslim Caught with a Hit List of 20 Targets in Alaska
Paul Rockwood and his wife, a rural Alaska couple has been charged with domestic terrorism. He made a hit list of 20 people that included members of military and publishing companies. He was caught when he moved to the operational phase of his plan.
Rockwood converted to Islam a decade ago. He studied the teachings of American-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, and slowly became a good Muslim.
The assistant U.S Attorneys Steven Skrocki and Bryan Schroder wrote, “”While in Alaska, Rockwood researched and discussed methods of execution often at great length and in significant detail, components for mail bombs were purchased, the targets had been selected and a loose time line was established,”
The court did not disclose any name but the list included a publishing company executive, a media personality, seven military personnel, two religious organizations, two publishing companies and seven other individuals.
The federal attorneys further explained, “With some, this included discussing the use of mail bombs and the possibility of killing targets by gunshot to the head,” they added, “This was not a case of ‘if’, but a case of ‘when’ with the ‘when’ becoming more likely with Rockwood’s departure from King Salmon”.
Under a plea bargain, Rockwood will serve only eight years in prison and three years in probation while his wife will be on probation because of her pregnancy.

This article appeared yesterday (18.08.10) in one of the leading newspapers with a link to the video. This newspaper is well known for its authenticity, and even though the name of the newspaper is "The Hindu" it is not pro-hindu and most of the times it is anti-hindu (may be due to political correctness) and Praveen Swami (the author of the article) has been writing about islamic terrorism and kashmir for more than a decade.
