Two brothers, Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Shaan, on Monday 17 January 2022 shot dead their Hindu neighbour Heera in Sultanpuri area of north-west Delhi, India’s national capital, in what the victim’s family says is an act of revenge against a police case filed against Irfan by them. In September 2021, Heera’s 26-year-old sister filed a case of rape against Irfan. He was jailed and granted bail by the Rohini session’s court in Delhi on 12 January 2022, less than a week before committing the murder.

Heera’s other sister Oshi told the correspondent of Swarajya magazine that Irfan’s is the only Muslim family in their colony.

Heera was the only male member in the family. Heera’s father died about a decade ago, leaving wife Meera and five children – two sons and three sisters. The elder son died of an illness last year, said Oshi.

Heera ran a small business selling birds. Irfan’s family, on the other hand, is affluent, owns three houses in Sultanpuri and is politically connected. Irfan, as per locals, is head of minority wing of Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party’s Sultanpuri unit. The colony has hoardings mentioning the same, where Irfan’s name is written as Irfan Siddiqui.

Oshi narrated her version of the events that have unfolded since September 2021. Irfan would stalk her younger sister (name withheld for protecting identity). He made physical relations with her. The family married the woman to one Ganesh of their community who lives about 10 kilometers away.

Irfan continued to stalk the woman and even sent Ganesh their intimate visuals clicked in the past. The marriage fell apart, though not formally. In September 2021, Heera’s family made a trip to Vaishno Devi in Jammu region of India. Irfan joined them in Jammu without invitation, much to their anger. He forcibly made physical relations with the woman again.

On their return, on behest of Heera, the woman, filed a case of rape against Irfan. The FIR (number 1058/2021) was filed at Sultanpuri police station under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 376, 506, 343 and 509. Irfan was arrested and jailed.

After Irfan was sent to prison, Heera wanted to sell his house and shift to a different locality. With two sisters married, Heera had his mother Meera and the sister who had filed a case against Irfan, to take care of.

“But Irfan did not let us sell the house. Using his influence, he threatened every property dealer in the area against serving us,” she says.

“My sister always feared that Irfan would come out of jail and kill Heera. She was apprehensive about filing the police case against him in the first place. But Heera convinced us that he would shift and the matter would close.”

Oshi says her sister had been trying to get rid of Irfan for long. “When she learnt that Irfan was a criminal sort of man, she distanced herself from him. But he never stopped going after her.”

Oshi says that on the evening of 17 January, Heera’s mother Meera was warming herself near an angithi i.e. a fireplace when she heard a commotion. She soon learnt that her own son was involved. She rushed out but could not find Heera.

Neighbours told the family that Irfan and Shaan had taken Heera to a park. Heera’s nephew reached the spot and found his body, ridden with bullets. He brought the body home. Narsingh, a distance relative of Heera who was accompanying him, was shot too.

Heera and Narsingh were taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where Heera was declared brought dead. Narsingh is reportedly out of danger.

“After shooting dead my brother, Irfan came to our house and charged at us. But neighbours prevented him from harming us, telling him that he had already taken his revenge. Irfan left and fled the spot,” says Oshi. Irfan and Shaan were held and arrested the same day.

Irfan’s family has locked the house and escaped to an unknown location, Oshi said.

Vijay Maroria, a local resident told the Swarajya correspondent that Irfan has eight police cases filed against him at Sultanpuri and Mangolpuri police stations since 2002 and that he deals in illegal weapons. Maroria said that heavy police are deployed in Sultanpuri after the incident as residents and Hindu groups are angry with a spate of similar killings.

In Raghubir Nagar area of Delhi, 22-year-old Ankit Saxena was killed by family of his Muslim girlfriend in 2018. In the same area, 21-year-old Dablu Singh was similarly murdered by the family of his Muslim girlfriend in December 2021 after he did not accept their condition of converting to Islam for continuing the relationship. In 2020, Rahul Rajput, a 20-year-old resident of Adarsh Nagar in the same northwest Delhi, was killed by brothers and cousins of his Muslim girlfriend Shehgufa.

Left-minded newspaper The Times of India, which whitewashes Muslim fanaticism as much as possible, reported this incident trying to show it as a ‘result of earlier dispute between the victim and the killer’, though mercifully it did mention that the killer was accused of rape of the victim’s sister. The Times of India did not mention the version of the victim’s family, which was that the rape victim was scared of reprisal ever after the complaint was filed and that the killing was revenge over filing of the rape case.

Another Leftist newspaper which too whitewashes Muslim fanaticism as much as possible, The Hindustan Times said while reporting the incident: “While the deceased’s family alleged that the murder was an act of revenge, over them having filed the rape case, the police said the rape accused and the dead man also had an ongoing dispute over some money and a car that the deceased was not returning.” At least this newspaper reported the deceased family’s allegation.

The complainant of this incident is the nephew of the deceased Heera. In the complaint given to the police, it is stated, “The attack on Hiralal took place in Dadia Park of B4 Colony of Sultanpuri. When Hiralal and Narsingh went to the park, Irfan and his brother Sanu were already present there. Irfan had a knife in his hand and Sanu had a pistol in his hand. Irfan said that you sent me to jail in the rape case. Sanu instigated Irfan to kill both of them. Irfan attacked Hiralal with knives. Sanu opened fire on Hiralal and Narsingh who went to save him. Hiralal was also hit with a brick.”

Who killed the victim? Mohammad Irfan and his brother or the judiciary which gave Irfan bail? The judiciary which gave him bail is equally culpable in this case.

Such cases are numerous

There are numerous such cases of killings of Hindus by Muslims in India, and as compared to that, the number of cases of killings of Muslims in retaliation or in similar inter-religious affairs are very lesser in number. In India, as per the 2011 census, the Hindus are 79.8% while Muslims are 14.23%. But the actual violent behavior, killings, attempted murders and forcible conversions by Muslims are far more. There are almost zero, if not completely zero, cases of Muslims being forced to convert to Hinduism, and very few cases of attacks on them, as compared to attacks by them on others. But this doesn’t suit the narrative of Leftists and Islamists, who want to paint Muslims as victims.

There have been many brutal cases in the past. In 2018, a Muslim in India’s financial capital Mumbai held a 27-year old Hindu girl captive & sexually assaulted her for 2 and half months, also tonsured her head, threatened to kill her, after she refused to convert to Islam & marry him. He showed her videos of evangelist Zakir Naik. He showed her mobile phone videos of him sexually assaulting her and started to blackmail her. Initially, he kept her confined to his home  during which he repeatedly raped her and also beat her with leather belt. He took away her debit card and withdrew Rs. 40,000 from her account. This happened in India, not in Pakistan.

Can anyone imagine Hindu men doing this to Muslim women, trying to force them to convert to Hinduism, in Pakistan, or for that matter, even in India? There was absolutely no reprisal on a single Muslim in India after this incident. Since the religions of the rapist and victim were inconvenient, the media almost totally suppressed this case.

In October 2020, a 21-year old Hindu girl Nikita Tomar was shot dead in broad daylight on CCTV camera in the state of Haryana by Muslims for refusing to convert to Islam and marry her stalker. Her killers got life imprisonment, which is only a 14-year jail term. There was absolutely no reprisal. An identical incident similar to the Nikita Tomar case happened in the same state of Haryana in December 2021 again in which the girl miraculously survived-till now. Do members of a ‘scared minority’ behave like this?

There is a pattern of Muslim men using fake Hindu names to befriend Hindu girls in India, and after marriage revealing their true name and religion and forcing the girl to convert to Islam. Many such cases have been documented, with the pattern being clearly evident, by a courageous woman journalist of a magazine Swarajya. The cases can be seen here. There was a high-profile case involving a national level woman shooter of India, named Tara Sahdeo, whose partner introduced himself as Ranjit Kumar Kohli, but after marriage revealed himself to be Raqibul Hasan Khan and tried to force her to convert to Islam. This was attempted in case of an individual with such a national level status.

What some ex-Muslims are saying- can we trust these ex-Muslims?

Founder of www.faithfreedom.org, Dr Ali Sina’s observation on ex-Muslims made in January 2016 is very pertinent here. He said:

“Frankly, I don’t even trust ex-Muslims anymore. While many of them claim to have left Islam they find it hard to cleanse themselves from its filth. It is like emerging out of the cesspool without taking a shower or changing their clothes. They have left Islam intellectually but emotionally they are still tied to their Muslim families who are still savages. A perfect example is Obama who stands with Muslims even when he claims to have left Islam. Other examples are the Persian Maryam Namazi or Bangladeshi Taslima Nasrin. There is no doubt that these women hate Islam. But they will stand with Muslims in every conflict, hate Israel and support Palestinian terrorists…Many ex-Muslims become atheist and adopt progressive leftism. They leave one mental disease for another.”

Let us see one tweet by the Council of ex-Muslims of North America. They shared a link to an article by The Guardian (extremely anti-Hindu, pro-Muslim newspaper) on an attack on a Muslim for alleged conversion of a Hindu woman in India. The article said that “Hindu extremists are carrying out violent attacks to stop interfaith relationships with Muslims” and that “India’s ‘love jihad’ conspiracy theory turns lethal”. Both these claims are absolutely false, and the reality is exactly the opposite.

In truth, the number of cases of violence by Muslims are far more, killing Hindu women for refusing to convert, or killing Hindu men for daring to have Muslim girlfriends or wives. Those who WANT to paint Muslims as victims, the Leftist newspapers as well as radical Islamists will conveniently suppress 100 cases of violence by Muslims, and highlight 5 cases of violence against Muslims, as if the former are non-existent, and totally invert the reality of perpetrator-victims.

The other claim that ‘Love Jihad’ is merely a ‘conspiracy theory’ is another lie. It is a brutal fact, seen from the numerous cases of conversions, attempted conversions, and a pattern of using fake identities to deceive non-Muslim women, including Christian women in the state of Kerala [in which Christians are more than 18% of the population].

Islamists and Leftists have tried to suppress the killings of Hindu men by radical Muslims for having affairs with Muslim women, e.g. Ankit Saxena, Dablu Singh, Rahul Rajput in the national capital of India itself, and numerous others in various other places. As just one example, Sanjay Kumar, a Hindu was tortured, mutilated and brutally killed by Muslims in Haryana state of India in August 2018, for having a Muslim wife, and not converting to Islam.

Islamists and Leftists, who deny the existence of LoveJihad and underplay or ignore the killings of Hindus by Muslims for not converting to Islam [or deny communal motive behind it when it is impossible to ignore the killings, and try to cite other causes for the murders], are also stunningly silent on the right of Muslim women to choose Hindu or other non-Muslim partners. They do not dare to demand full freedom to marry non-Muslims for Muslim women. India’s major film industry Bollywood mostly shows Hindu women and Muslim men in case of inter-religious marriages.

At least twice in the past, some Bollywood film-makers dared to show films with Muslim girls marrying Hindus or Sikhs, in the 1995 film Bombay and 2001 film Gadar. The house of film-maker of Bombay, Mani Ratnam was bombed by Islamic fundamentalists in the city of Chennai [capital of Tamil Nadu state of India, in which the Muslim population is less than 6%] on 10 July 1995 and he was injured and hospitalized, and the actress who played the role of that Muslim girl marrying a Hindu, Manisha Koirala was given death threats in the city of Mumbai. The film was also banned in many Indian states that have large Muslim populations after Islamic groups protested. Muslims attacked theaters in the Indian city of Hyderabad. There were massive protests and violence, attacks on theaters, against the film Gadar in 2001. Muslims protested all over India, particularly in cities with a large Muslim population like Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bhopal.

The Islamists could not tolerate a Muslim woman marrying a non-Muslim even in fiction, let alone in reality. The courage of Bollywood has failed to show something similar after that.

Fanatics exist in all communities and there are Hindu fanatics, who have a deep fear and hatred of Muslims. Some such fringe fanatics made calls for violence against Muslims in the city of Haridwar of Uttarakhand state of India. For this, they were prosecuted as per law, investigations are on and arrests made too. But the Council of ex-Muslims of North America tweeted that little is being done to stop them. They shared an article by CNN which contained factual errors [e.g. it claimed that the Hindu Mahasabha organization was founded in 1907 during British rule in India while it was founded in 1915, and as a counter-balance to the Muslim League which was founded in 1906, which they did not mention]. Besides, those fanatics of Haridwar had nothing to do with India’s ruling party BJP or other Hindu organizations, and yet, a lot of reporting in the world media was done as if the ruling party BJP was responsible for it.

Similar hate speeches were also made by Muslims in India. There was a Muslim leader in Uttar Pradesh, India’s biggest state, Imran Masood who had threatened to chop the then Chief Minister of Gujarat state of India and the Prime Ministerial candidate of the BJP and now India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to pieces in March 2014. He was arrested for that at that time. This man was an office-bearer of India’s main opposition party, the Congress, which ruled India for about 60 years out of the total nearly 75 years of Independence, and he contested Parliamentary elections after that speech. In 2016, he was appointed as the vice-president of the Congress party. He was later elevated as the national secretary of the party and made in charge of Delhi. In early 2022, he left the Congress to join a very powerful regional party of Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party.

In April 2020, a Muslim religious leader named Abbas Siddique prayed to Allah to kill 500 million Indians with the Corona virus, in a video which went viral. Later in 2021, he contested the Assembly elections to West Bengal state of India with his party (ironically called the ‘Indian Secular Front’) in alliance with the mainstream Congress Party and the Communist parties. Some leaders of the Congress itself questioned this alliance with the radical Islamist. In reality, little was done to ban such hate-mongerers, they were a part of mainstream electoral politics after their hate speeches.

No explanations are asked from these mainstream political parties by the media, Leftists, Islamists or sadly, even these ex-Muslims, on how such leaders continue to be their office-bearers or allies.

The ability of Islamists to play the victim card, helped by Leftists [as well as some ex-Muslims] is truly extra-ordinary. They want to deny or downplay, or ignore, actual murders, conversions, attacks on others by their co-religionists, and exaggerate the attacks on them so that they can appear to be victims.

Maulana Wahiduddin Khan (1925-2021), an Indian Muslim, wrote an article in English daily The Hitavada dated 21 November 1993, in which he said:

“Where the non-Muslim press presents the Muslim cases in totality, the Muslim press gives only half the picture. For instance, in the Bhagalpur riots in October 1989, bombs were initially set off by Muslims. It was only after this that Hindus set fire to Muslim properties. The non-Muslim press described the acts of both the communities, including the fact that the Hindu destruction of the Muslim property had been on a much larger scale than the damage caused by the Muslim bombs, yet flying in face of facts, the Muslims wanted no mention of bomb-throwing. They wanted only the burning of their property by the Hindus to be highlighted.

Similarly, when the Babri Masjid was demolished on December 6, 1992, the Muslims of Bombay [now Mumbai] wanted no mention of their subsequent rioting & destruction, which sparked off Hindu acts of revenge, again on a much larger scale. They wanted facts damaging to themselves to be suppressed so that they might appear to be the innocent, injured party. This attitude extends to every important sphere of Muslim existence…It is on the basis of this kind of one-sided and partial news reporting that Muslims want to create their own press.“

Some of the ex-Muslims of America are of Pakistani origin, who may not be too aware of India and get their information from British or American newspapers, which are extremely anti-Hindu and pro-Muslim, and which write the most absurd and ridiculous things against India from time to time. But the ex-Muslims should ideally not fall for propaganda, and speak loudly against Muslim violence and fanaticism against non-Muslims. It is quite possible that these ex-Muslims are genuinely mistaken, falling for the propaganda spread by the Leftist-Islamist combine and would not hesitate to reveal the truth on coming to know of it.

The truth must be brought out, irrespective of political correctness. If Muslims are indeed attacked violently, then it should definitely be highlighted. Anti-Muslim hatred and calls for violence against Muslims by radicals (e.g. those done in Haridwar) must strongly be condemned, and strict action taken against those doing so. But it must not be lied that ‘Little is being done against them’. Nor should the violence by Muslims be ignored and downplayed. The ex-Muslims should give the full picture, and not ignore the violence on non-Muslims by Muslims.
