The
upcoming Election in Iran
By: Amil Imani
I
read somewhere that "the whole story of the progress of human
liberty shows that concessions yet made ... have been born of earnest
struggle... If there is no struggle, there is no progress."
It is unconscionable to believe that any human being can be so cruel and
an instrument of death and suffering to others! I believe all human
beings are privileged to have liberty of life. Prejudiced, medieval-like
actions must and should be eliminated in our Century. The pinnacle of
cruelty must and should be obliterated in our new era. The only way to
heal the conflict in the world, in society, is to heal it in our own
minds, to tear the veil of separation, to terminate this mental
delusion, once and for all.
Human beings are obliged to look forward to a brighter and more
enlightening future and work hard to bring prosperity, not only to this
generation, but also to the generations to come. That applies to all the
sons and daughters of Adam and Eve, not just to a particular rich
industrial section of this global village. In this world of ours,
violence, hatred and conflict, have become part of our daily digestion.
Man's incredible cruelty to his fellow man is beyond comprehension.
Extraordinary suffering is inflicted upon millions to uphold mere
beliefs, figments of one's imagination.
There are so many nations in this global village of ours that have been
struggling, in many ways for centuries to reach the prosperity that most
have enjoyed in Western nations. This divisive gap between the very rich
and the very poor has never been clearer, to the entire world, than it
is today. With the advent of the Internet, we have more accurate
information on this calamity, this reality that we all live with, on a
daily basis.
When many immigrants arrive at the port of New York, the first thing
they want to see is the Statue of Liberty, and it is something
beautiful. It is something extraordinary in the eyes of those people who
have dreamed all their lives, of seeing this symbol of liberty. It
represents what America must be and ought to be. It represents America,
the land of the free, and the land of the brave.
This symbol hasn't changed in so many years. Now it means much more than
a statue. Now, it is America and we must not allow the recent tragedies
in New York to tarnish this magnificent symbol of love, justice, and
liberty for all mankind.
America was founded on aspirations of liberty and justice for all. She
is now a proud country with very a rich constitution that protects not
only its own citizens, but whoever makes it to her shores. For that, we
all must be grateful and thankful and struggle to keep it that way.
We understand that all forms of life start with struggle. We all know
that the city of Rome was not built in one day. Similarly, people's
liberty and freedom were not given to them simply because some ruler
felt sorry for the masses. They were secured with many bloody
revolutions, an inch at the time. That's how most countries have
achieved their liberty and freedom.
Iran is a land of beauty and the land of love, but also a land of
turmoil. At this critical crossroad in her history, this old nation,
this cradle of human civilization and human rights, is sick and needs
you. This very rich culture, which has given the world many great
scientists, in all areas, unparalleled poets, such as Rumi, Ferdowsi,
Hafez and Sad'i, needs you.
Iran has the youngest and brightest and the most educated population at
this time in her history. Iranians, like many other nationalities, have
been struggling to achieve the liberty and justice and freedom that are
being enjoyed, mostly, in the western countries.
The illegitimate regime of Islamic Republic says NO to a population of
70 million. The illegitimate regime of Islamic Republic says NO to
liberty to those people who have been struggling for hundreds of years.
The Islamic Republic says NO to justice and NO to freedom and NO to
peace and No to a free election. Ultimately, if Islamic Regime succumbs
to the will of the 70 million Iranians, they will have to pack their
terror instruments and leave, but they do not want to leave. "A
fool is very dangerous when in power." Said, Denis Fonvizin
The Iranian people believe that "everyone has the right...to hold
opinions without interference and to see, receive and impart information
and ideas through any media, regardless of frontiers." The Iranian
people would like to try and articulate the features of a free and fair
election. The people of Iran would like to freely choose their own
elected representatives, without the fear of being thrown into the cages
of medieval Islamic terror masters.
The Islamic Republic, perhaps, is the only regime in the world whose
leaders, whether reformists, or the fundamentalists, work, twenty-four
hours a day, three hundred sixty-five days a year, against the will of
the people. It is as though the sole purpose of this extremely brutal
regime is to torture, antagonize, fabricate, lie, harass, arrest,
murder, and intimidate the innocent citizens in the name of Islam.
Yes, life itself is a struggle. But the vast majority of Iranians are
struggling, at this very moment, for their simple and basic human
rights. It is up to you to stand up to your own governments and demand
not to deal with some of the greatest terror masters, which this world
has ever brought to our civilization.
Iranian people are asking you, the citizens of our world, convey their
message, to your elected officials that they think "elections
belong to the people. It is their decision. If they decide to turn their
back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit
on their blisters", said, Abraham Lincoln
Ladies and gentlemen of the free world! We need your support and
involvement now more than any other time in the history of our country.
We need your support NOW. My fellow freedom loving people, "he who
allows oppression, shares the crime, said, Erasmus Darwin.
The rewards for supporting love, justice, liberty, and freedom for those
who are trapped in an Islamic terrorist country are magnificent. You
will receive your rewards from the Almighty Lord, either in this world
or the next.
My fellow freedom loving people of this planet, millions of Iranians,
inside and outside of Iran have boycotted the phony and irrelevant
upcoming elation in Iran, due to the fact, that so called 'Guardian
Council,' picks and choose its own scarecrows, for the obvious reasons,
to intimidate the innocent-peace loving Iranians.
We need you to make a note of it that we, Iranians, are hoping to
eradicate the Islamic lawlessness from our land. Iranians hope that you,
the people of earth, watch them, pay attention to them, and help them
morally and in whatever capacity you are able. They want you to
participate in our election, by making sure your governments do not
recognize the outcome of any elections in Iran, unless it is conducted
under the supervision of the United Nations.
You owe this to yourselves. You owe this to humanity. You owe this to
your other fellow human beings who need your voice NOW, more than ever.
So, I beseech you to watch our upcoming elections, in solidarity with
the people of Iran.
So far, the so called, "leader of the biggest reform party in
parliament, Mohammed Reza Khatami, resigned and accused the Guardian
Council of killing all opportunities for resolving the dispute."
"There is no hope for a solution. We will not participate in this
sham election. Even if all those disqualified are reinstated today,
there will be no time for competition. Elections on February 20th are
illegitimate," said Reza Khatami, the president's younger brother
and a deputy speaker.

not have to pay for our deeds", Andrejs Upits
