In a video posted to YouTube on Sunday, former Iraqi member of parliament Taha al-Lahibi said he thinks Barak Hussein Obama is a Shiite claiming he is “more cooperative with Shiite Iranians.”

“Obama is willing to work with Iran because of the Shiite background of his parents,” Lahibi reasoned during an interview on an Arabic-language satellite channel. The former lawmaker pointed to the U.S. president’s middle name as proof, with Hussein also being the name of Shiite Islam’s holiest martyr.

Lahibi’s accusation is not entirely baseless. Before the 2008 U.S. presidential election, state-run Iranian newspapers published articles suggesting that the Democratic contender was a Shiite Muslim. When Obama won the presidency, there was even some pride in Iraq’s Shiite strongholds, such as Baghdad’s Sadr City district. “When Obama won,” one local told Time magazine in 2008, “it was a big day in Sadr City. Many people felt, Now we have a brother in the White House.”

In 2015, with Iranian-backed Shiite militias a powerful force in Iraq’s battle against the Sunni Islamic State extremist group and Obama pursuing a nuclear deal with Iran, the rumors have resurfaced. Lahibi, once a politically mainstream has also suggested recently that the Islamic State was “founded by the Syrian regime with the help of Iran and was penetrated by the United States afterwards,” according to Iraqi News.

Although the claims that Obama is a Shiite and that he is backing ISIS may not be true the claim that Obama is a closet Muslim should not be dismissed without proper scrutiny.

Since his announcement to run for presidency in 2007 many people suspected that Obama may be a closet Muslim and his conversion to Christianity was only a political maneuver to gain acceptance in a predominately Christian society.

Despite the fact that the mainstream media, of both left and right, did their best to discredit those who claim that Obama is a Muslim, ridiculing them and calling them conspiracy theorists, public opinion polls show that at least one in five or 17% of Americans recognize that Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim.  A poll conducted last year, showed 54 percent of Republicans believed that Obama was a Muslim “deep down.”

During his 2008 presidential campaign, Obama claimed to be a Christian. He said:

I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful. I didn’t ‘fall out in church’ as they say, but there was a very strong awakening in me of the importance of these issues in my life. I didn’t want to walk alone on this journey. Accepting Jesus Christ in my life has been a powerful guide for my conduct and my values and my ideals.

There is one thing that I want to mention that I think is important. Part of what we’ve been seeing during the course of this campaign is some scurrilous e-mails that have been sent out, denying my faith, talking about me being a Muslim, suggesting that I got sworn in at the U.S. Senate with a Quran in my hand or that I don’t pledge allegiance to the flag. I think it’s really important for your readers to know that I have been a member of the same church for almost 20 years, and I have never practiced Islam. I am respectful of the religion, but it’s not my own. One of the things that’s very important in this day and age is that we don’t use religion as a political tool and certainly that we don’t lie about religion as a way to score political points. I just thought it was important to get that in there to dispel rumors that have been over the Internet. We’ve done so repeatedly, but obviously it’s a political tactic of somebody to try to provide this misinformation.

Obama’s declaration of faith has been accepted uncritically by the majority of Americans. “If I were a Muslim I would let you know,” he said and Daniel Pipes said “I believe him.”  Pipes went on to say “In fact, he is a practicing Christian, a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. He is not now a Muslim.”

Faith is between God and man and as a norm no one can know what is in the heart of someone else. However, in this case, the evidence is too obvious to dismiss. The truth or falsehood of Obama’s conversion can be demonstrated with his own words.

Muslims recognize Jesus to be a prophet of God. A Christian who converts to Islam does not have to give up his faith in Christ. He no longer believes Jesus was the son of God. Instead he is let to believe that Jesus was another prophet of Islam.

An apostate of Islam, unless he converts to Bahai faith, does no longer believe in Muhammad. He rejects Muhammad as impostor or as a delusional madman. If he converts to Christianity, he denounces Allah as a false god. A Christians cannot believe in Muhammad. If a Christian recognizes Muhammad as a prophet of God he has no choice but to convert to Islam.

Obama’s father was a secular Muslim with Marxist anti-colonialist inklings. He hated the whites. His other son, Malik Obama, became a prominent member of Muslim Brotherhood, a radical Islamic organization that believes in jihad and wants to conquer the world by infiltrating the governments in non-Muslim countries and sabotaging “their miserable house” from within.

Obama claims he has left Islam to follow Jesus. Yet everything he does and says belies that claim.

After leaving Islam he joined a black-supremacist church ran by Jeremiah Write, a racist hate preacher and a friend of Louis Farrakhan, another racist hate preacher. The church he attended for 20 years had more in common with the Nation of Islam than with Christianity.

Ex-Muslims have very little good to say about Islam. If they found any good in it they would not have left it. Strangely, Obama has more admiration and love for Islam than for Christianity. Here are a few of his adulatory and unfounded statements about Islam:

• The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans.
• We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world — including in my own country.
• Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance.
• Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism – it is an important part of promoting peace.
• The sweetest sound I know is the Muslim call to prayer.
• Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality.
• I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House.
• In ancient times and in our times, Muslim communities have been at the forefront of innovation and education.

As an ex-Muslim I find it odd that an apostate of Islam should have this much admiration for a faith that he believes to be false.

In what ways the United States has been enriched by Islam? The first encounters America had with Islam was in late 18^th and early 19^th centuries in the Barbary wars were Muslims of Tunis, Algiers and Tripoli invaded American merchant vessels in the Mediterranean Sea demanding ransom for the release of the hostages and threatening to behead them if their demands were not met.

When Thomas Jefferson became President he refused to pay tribute and sent a United States Naval fleet to the Mediterranean; bombarded the various fortified pirate cities, ultimately extracting concessions of fair passage from their rulers. Both the administrations of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison undertook actions against the Barbary States at different times.

Obama must explain in what ways Islam has enriched America.

He praised the “proud tradition of tolerance of Islam.” What tolerance? Muhammad killed those who did not believe in him. He massacred entire populations. He authorized killing women and children. His followers killed over 280 million non-Muslims so far and counting. The Quran is full of verses that order Muslims to slay the unbelievers, not to take them as friends, treat them harshly, subjugate them and humiliate them.

Obama said Islam is not the problem but a part of the solution. It depends on what is his idea of solution. The solution of Islam is peace through subjugation. That is not a solution that most of us would agree with.

He said, “The sweetest sound I know is the Muslim call to prayer.” This is a strange thing to say for an ex-Muslim.

There is a big difference between Jesus and Muhammad. Jesus was paragon of goodness. When I was an atheist I thought he was too good to be true. A Christian who leaves his faith has little reason to dislike Jesus. He was not an evil character. Muhammad was an evil character. The only reason Muslims don’t leave Islam is because they believe he was a prophet of God and therefore it is not up to them to question his character. Once they acknowledge he was an impostor, there is no reason for them to defend him and praise him.   Ex-Muslims believe Muhammad was a thug. That is why it is inconceivable that someone who truly has left Islam should have such an admiration for him. It just does not add up.

Obama does not seem to have the same respect and love for the faith that he now claims to be a part of and misses no opportunity to show his scorn of it. He has said with sarcasm, “Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy?  Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is OK and that eating shellfish is an abomination?  Or we could go with Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith?” He ignored the fact that Christians follow Jesus and even the Jews don’t practice these old laws.

As he is derisive of the Bible he forgets that the entire Quran is filled with hateful and violent verses and always has something good to say about it even to the point of lying.  For example he said the Quran says killing one man is like killing all humanity.  While there is such a verse in the Quran it is a quote from the Talmud and that the verse that follows (5:33) says the unbelievers should be “killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides.”

Any time there is an Islamic terrorist attack he reminds people that many centuries ago Christians also did commit some atrocities. He emphasizes, “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation.”

The belief that Jesus is the Son of God is fundamental to the faith of every Christian. Yet Obama can’t bring himself to say it and instead he refers to Jesus as “a” son of God, and a human being.

Was Obama’s conversion to Christianity out of love for Jesus or out of political expediency? Let us hear that from himself.

He started his political career as a community organizer. In a 2007 speech he explained, “It’s around that time [while working as an organizer for the Developing Communities Project (DCP) of the Calumet Community Religious Conference (CCRC) in Chicago] that some pastors I was working with came around and asked if I was a member of a church. “If you’re organizing churches,” they said, “it might be helpful if you went to a church once in a while. And I thought, “I guess that makes sense.”

Do we need more proof that Obama’s Christianity is only for political gain? Stephanie Block writes, “The community organizing embraced by Senator Obama is an inheritance from Saul Alinsky who founded the Industrial Areas Foundation and wrote about his organizing principles in two books, Reveille for Radicals and Rules for Radicals. The problem with Alinsky’s principles is that they are deeply unethical. He teaches, for example, that in politics, the ends justify the means. Specifically, he teaches organizers to seek political power by any means that accomplishes that end. Faith-based institutions are evangelized into liberationist theory through a variety of mechanisms. These are serious problems for the religious bodies who have become institutional members of the Alinskyian networks.”

There is enough evidence that Obama’s conversion to Christianity is as authentic as his birth certificate. It is clear that his outlook about the world and particularly the Middle East and his dealing with Israel are eerily Islamic. On occasions he has inadvertently referred to his faith as Islamic.

He also rarely attends church or had church services in the White house and rather prefers to head to gym.

While the majority of American believe Obama to be a Christian, the majority of Muslims know it is all part of the holy ruse, the taqiyah. Had Muslims really believed his conversion, they would not have embraced him so enthusiastically.

It is true that Muslims hate Jews more than anyone else. But there is an exception. They hate apostates even more. How can then we explain that almost the totality of Muslims in America voted for Obama and supports his policies? How can we explain the fact that his election was cheered in all Islamic countries? Why the rest of us apostates get death threat and Obama is adored?

Obama’s conversion to Christianity is a sham. Those who still don’t know it don’t want to know it. Americans have been duped, not just in regards to Obama’s faith but also in regards to his birth certificate. And apparently they don’t mind it.

To put Mr. Lahibi’s mind at peace, Barak Hussein Obama is not a Shiite. Even though at some time he must have whispered something in the ears of someone for  the state-run Iranian newspapers  to make such claim.  He probably wanted to endear himself to them and tell them I am one of you. i.e., I share your dislike of America. The reason he seems to favor Iran and the Shiites is because he is anti-colonialist. He believes America is Imperialist and  the source of all evil. As such it has to be weakened, if not destroyed. So he favors the groups and countries that pose more threat to America. Iran, with its nuclear agenda, is a more formidable enemy of America than the Sunnis who are either willing to cooperate or are too weak to pose a serious threat.

Obama will work with anyone who is the sworn enemy of America, be it Shiite, Sunni or communist, like Fidel Castro or the late Ugo Chavez. He loves Muslims because with them he shares a common hatred.

A friend asked whether I actually believe Obama to be a Muslim.

I believe Obama is culturally and ideologically a Muslim. The Islamic ideology is permanent victimhood and revenge. I don’t think he believes in God or in Allah. I think he is more an atheist, a secular rather than religious.

Islam is not just a religion but also a political ideology, based on victimhood and revenge. Obama is driven by this ideology. He does not share the religious aspect of Islam, but he shares its political views.

The political ideology of Islam  is xenophobic. Muslims distrust anything that is not Islamic.  They believe anything that is not Islamic is the enemy.  Many Muslims are secular. They drink, don’t pray and lead a liberal life. However, ideologically and politically they are Muslims and stand with other Muslims. This distrust and dislike of the non-Muslim, particularly the westerners whom they blame for all that is wrong in their world is what unites all Muslims and brings them together as one nation, the Umma.

They see the white man privileged, but unable to understand the actual reason behind it, they accuse him of stealing from the colored man. The prosperity and the wealth in the west is not the result of centuries of going after science and hard work but because of colonialism and the fact that the white steals the resources of the third world countries. The poor is not responsible for his fate but he is rather the victim of exploitation of the greedy white man who is imperialist, colonialist, exploitative, abusive, cunning and evil.

Even when Christian missionaries sacrifice everything and risk their lives to spread the Gospels of Jesus, which, whether you agree with them or not, they do it out of love, for Muslims is a tool of the white man’s exploitation.

This belief is expressed in the beginning of Reza Aslan’s No God but God. The introduction of that book shows how a Muslim thinks. Aslan sees malice even in your act of goodness. If you are white you have malicious intents even when you do charity work.

Those who remember Iran hostage crisis may also remember that the Iranians released the black American hostages and kept the whites.  It is because the enemy is the white man.

All the miseries of the third world are due to the greed and the avarice of the white man. Their dictators are the stooges of the white man. If you do business with them it is because you want to steal their resources.

Obama is the product of this worldview. He was greatly inspired by his Kenyan father, who was a secular Muslim, communist anti colonialist and as per his own statement, influenced by the radical anti white views of Malcolm X.  Obama embodies his father’s dreams and Malcolm X’s ideas.

Obama’s worldview is based on victimhood and revenge. He became a community organizer because of this worldview. He joined that hate spewing church of Jeremiah Write because of this worldview. He feels more at home with communist and Islamic countries than with countries that have been traditional allies of America because of this world view. He dislikes Europeans and particularly the British and returned the bust of Churchill that had been gifted to the American people because of this worldview. He sides more with the Arabs than with Israel, even though Israel is a more reliable friend of America because of this world view. Once you understand Obama’s worldview, you can explain all his choices and even predict what he will do in future.

Since Islam is a political ideology and it is against the western world, Obama stands with Muslims whom he sees as his ideological comrades.
