2013, 31^st May. Egyptian Cleric Muhammad Al-Zughbi: “Oh Allah, protect our country, Egypt, from the corrupt, protect it from the criminal traitors, from the accursed Jews and the criminal Shiites, protect it from the Crusaders [Westerners/Christians] and from all Your enemies, the enemies of Islam.”Comment: At least Al-Zughbi is an equal opportunities hater, everybody except “true-believer” Sunnis is on his (and Allah’s) little list of hate. He’s certainly got the “wal-bara” part down to perfection.

On non-Muslims.

2013, 23^rd July. Abstracted “Amnesty International”. In an attack lasting 18 hours on 5 July, four Coptic Christian men were killed and four others were seriously injured. By mid-day more than 100 Christian homes had been attacked, with scores of them looted or torched. Local residents reported calling the police and army’s hotlines throughout the day in vain. … Security forces on the scene made only half-hearted attempts to end the violence and sufficient reinforcements failed to arrive. Comment: Given that the “authorities” did not even try to protect citizens from murderous assault, the assumption has to be that the authorities colluded in the murder of “kafirs”.

2013 24^th July. Abstracted “AsiaNewsIt”. The authorities in the town of Gojra (Punjab province) charged a local Catholic couple of blasphemy after a local Muslim man complained that the two sent him blasphemous text messages, insulting the Prophet Muhammad. Under Pakistani law, the two could be sentenced to death if found guilty. Gojra is infamous for the atrocities committed in the name of the blasphemy law. Comment: once again the Muslim authorities put themselves on the side of the Muslim making unsubstantiated allegations. In Pakistan, where the blasphemy laws are concerned, allegation = proof if the allegation is made by a Muslim and the defendant is a Kafir.

2013, 12^th Aug. Abstracted “Aina”. Midyat, Turkey (AINA) — A group of Muslims attacked the staff of the Saint Abraham monastery on Sunday, August 11 in the city of Midyat in the south eastern part of Turkey. When police arrived they confronted the Assyrians with pepper spray and left the attackers untouched. “The monastery was attacked two months before this incident by young Kurds from the town of Batman, but we decided not to go public about it, this time we decided it’s enough,” said an Assyrian from the monastery. “We gave the police the footage from the surveillance camera from the previous attack and now it’s gone and no one was punished. They promised us to put guards here but we don’t see any and when they (the police) came yesterday they attacked us with pepper spray instead of the attackers. Certainly all this cannot be merely coincidences.” Comment: Another example where Muslim authorities not only refuse to protect non-Muslims, but attack them for “daring” to stand up to aggressive/abusive Muslims. Take that you Dhimmis! And show respect to the Muslims!

2013, 14^th Aug. Abstracted “South China Morning Post”. A small-town Danish politician has gained more prominence than perhaps he could have ever hoped for. “I hope … that all the Chinese will burn, so the world will be free of that Chinese filth,” Mussalman Fuat Yalan wrote on his Facebook page two weeks ago. In an interview with the Helsingør Dagblad, Yalan, added “If there was a Chinese person in front of me right now I would shoot him.” Yalan later said that his rage was directed at a group of Chinese in a video he saw on YouTube which shows them beating a young boy, presumably an ethnic Uygur – i.e. a Muslim. Comment: Another Muslim believes all non-Muslims are really Dhimmis (even in a predominantly non-Muslim Country) and that as a result it is okay to kill Chinese people in Denmark for an apparent offence committed in China.

2013 22^nd Aug. Abstracted “Herald Sun”. Australian Islamic preacher Sheikh Sharif Hussein: “Oh Allah, count the Buddhists and the Hindus one by one. Oh Allah, count them and kill them to the very last one.” Comment: another “death to the infidels” rant by that most pieceful of religions.

On Islamic Supremacy

2013, 2^nd August. According to a House of Commons research report’s statistics, Muslims now make up 13% of the UK prison population compared to 5% of the nation’s population. Whilst I am sure that some will see this as a sign of “institutional Islamophobia”, the fact that yet more Muslim-child-sex-abusers have just been convicted might suggest another reason. Comment: Yes, this is an ironic item, but these are two area in which UK Muslims really are “supreme”.

On war, terror, violence and jihad.

2013, 31^st July. Abstracted “FrontpageMag”. Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi – one of the most influential Islamic clerics in the world, author of over 100 books on Muslim doctrine, head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, and spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood – has just posted a new video where he calls on all the Muslims of the world to come and wage jihad with their lives in Egypt on behalf of “what’s right” – that is, the return to power of the Muslim Brotherhood. Qaradawi called on them to be shuhada, “martyrs” who sacrifice their lives in the course of the jihad. Several Egyptian religious authorities have expressed surprise at Qaradawi’s reckless call for jihad in Egypt, saying it is not part of Dar al-Harb (Abode of War) where jihad should be waged to bring non-Muslims under Islamic authority, but rather is part of the Islamic world, where Islamic authorities like Qaradawi should be calling for peace, not promoting more bloodshed between Muslims. Comment: Two points: A) Qaradawi is calling for a sword-jihad in Egypt against “brother” Muslims – i.e. a call for “true-believer” Muslims to terrorise and kill those “not Muslim enough”. B) Not surprisingly, this upsets “Egyptian religious authorities” who point out that sword-jihad should only be waged against the Kafir – note that the “Egyptian religious authorities” have no problem with the waging of sword-jihad per se, they only object to it being waged against Muslims.

2013, 8^th Sept. Abstracted “Right side News”. Turkistan Cleric, Abu Dhar ‘Azzam: “If we neglect the jihadi, ideological and spiritual upbringing of the new youngsters and the new generation, history will not forgive us, and the disgrace of this treason will not be erased from our foreheads. The ummah is in dire need of children [who will be] slaughterers and fighters of the infidels and the devils – children who will be ascetics by night and knights by day, children who will fight the infidels and the leaders of polytheism…I saw Dzokhar [Tsarneav]’s photo, the photo of a handsome young man in the prime of his youth. I thought to myself: Years ago, he was a child, and he saw the tragedies and catastrophes befall his beloved ummah, one after another. His older brother raised him on jihad and martyrdom-seeking. So, years later, he grew up to be a lion who demolished the fortresses of the infidels and massacred them, rocking the throne of the greatest tyrant on earth. “Yes, this should be our model. In the very house of unbelief and misguidedness… this is where Dzokhar was raised; [he] and his brother carried out an attack that pleases the believers and makes us content. By his act, he said to us: This is what you should do, oh pearls [the name Dzokhar is derived from the Arabic jawhar, meaning pearl] of Muhammad, and weep not. Weeping is unbefitting for men. This is but one pearl, oh infidels. Our sacrificing nation will offer many more pearls, until glory and honor is restored to their rightful people – the Muslims… Peace on Dzokhar and his brother, and on anyone who follows their example – an example from the pearls of an immortal nation…” Comment: yet another Muslim cleric emphasises the importance of murdering people for Islam.

On Muslim “hypocrites” and apostates.

2013, 9^th Aug. Abstracted “CEMB”. UK: Following an interview on Channel 4 on Sharia law, Islamists have threatened Sudanese secular campaigner and Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain Spokesperson Nahla Mahmoud with death. Mr Salah Al Bandar, who claims to be a “democratic, liberal Muslim” and who has been until recently a councillor with the Lib-Dem Party in Cambridgeshire and is a director at the Sudan Civic Foundation in the UK has said: “I will not forgive anyone who wants to start a battle against Islam and the beliefs of the people …. Be aware of this ‘fitna’ and I know who is behind it and I will never have any mercy on her here… I will have no tolerance for anyone here who talks about freedom of belief or freedom of thought or any of the other clichés… I forbid anyone from trying to change Nahla’s scandal to a case worthy of support… It will all get back to them… Be cautioned! Be cautioned!… No excuses for those who have been warned! ” Elsewhere he said: Nahla has been trained in “public activities against Islam” and that Mohamed Mahmoud, an atheist, “created this idol Nahla and presented her as a champion of freedom of expression” Comment: An example of “Taqiyya” in action: to the West a “democratic liberal Muslim”, but to a Muslim audience anything but a democrat or a liberal. According to K.5:33 the punishment for “fitna” is death, mutilation or banishment, so his words come close to incitement to murder, but there is no chance he will be prosecuted.

On Islamic tolerance and equality.

2013, 2^nd August. Abstracted “Jakarta Globe”. Surabaya. The government says it is nearing a solution to repatriate Shiite Muslim families driven from their homes by Sunni hard-liners. Suryadharma Ali, the minister for religious affairs, said that any meaningful peace would only be obtained with the “enlightenment” of the Shiites – a term widely understood to mean conversion to mainstream Sunni Islam. “In the meeting it was agreed that the reconciliation would be based on the enlightenment of the refugees, so that there’s a confluence of perception with regard to their religion,” the minister said. “This enlightenment process will be carried out where they are currently staying in Sidoarjo.” He added that this “enlightenment” was the main condition laid down by the Sunni clerics for allowing the Shiite families to return home. Hertasning Ichlas, the executive director of Universalia Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHU) and a lawyer for the Shiites, told the Jakarta Globe ‘If the Shiites need to be “enlightened”, it’s not really a reconciliation, in the end, they would be forced to convert to Sunni.” Comment: Once again the tolerant nature of “real Muslims” is revealed – as is the myth of the brotherhood of all Muslims.

2013, 11^th Sept. Abstracted “Christian Today”. Nazir Ahmad Hanafi, Afghan Parliament Member: “Afghani citizens continue to convert to Christianity in India. Numerous Afghans have become Christians in India. This is an offence to Islamic Laws and according to the Quran they need to be executed.” Comment: another prominent Muslim shows precisely how tolerant Islam is.

2013, Sept. 18^th. Abstracted “Jihad Watch”. “The commanders of the Islamist brigades, who have declared more than once that their project was to establish a caliphate, have repeatedly indicated that no one will persecute the Christians or drive them out of their homes because they are ‘people of the book’ and dhimmis (non-Muslim citizens of the Islamic state), so there are no problems with them, unlike the rest of the communities such as Shiites, Alawites and Druze.” Comment: in other words they will have to live as third-class (non) citizens in their own Country and pay the Jizya for the privilege. The added irony here is that the “Islamist brigades” are the ones driving the Christians out of their towns when they fail to pay extortionate jizya rates.

On correct Islamic behaviour and attitudes:

2013, 2^nd Aug. Abstracted “Tribune-Herald”. HYDERABAD: The central leader of Jamaat-i-Ahl-i-Sunnat, Maulana Muhammad Yaqoob Qadri, was gunned-down leaving his home in Benazirabad district on Thursday. He was well know for preaching moderation and sectarian harmony. Comment: another “moderate Muslim” pays the price for “not being Muslim enough”.

2013, 11^th Aug. In this fatwa, an Iman on “Islamweb” tells a woman to conceal the fact that her husband has raped (or “thighed”) his daughter. What is of significance here is that this demonstrates the doctrine of “Sitr” (cover-up – literally “veiling”) when Muslims commit sins (and crimes).

2013, 24^th Aug. Abstracted “Daily Mail”. Another UK Muslim TV channel – Noor TV – has been fined for airing the extremist views of British Imam Allama Muhammad Farooq Nizami who said those who “disrespect” Mohammed “should be eliminated”. The offence took place in May 2012, but OfCom has only now handed down the judgement and fine. Adding insult to injury is the fact that Noor TV has not made any apology nor repudiated this hate-preach in any way to date, implying the channel’s support for these views. See also this article.

2013, 24^th Aug. Abstracted “Algemeiner”. Egypt, Muslim-brotherhood facebook posting: “The Pope of the Church [Coptic Pope Tawadros II] took part in the ouster of the first elected Islamist president. The Pope of the Church charges Islamic Sharia with underdevelopment [and] stagnation, after all of this do people wonder why they burn churches? Burning houses of worship is a crime [but] for the Church to adopt a war against Islam and Muslims is the worst crime. For every action is a reaction.” Comment: thus the Copts are guilty of “blasphemy” against Sharia (that perfect divine system of laws) and are thus “at war with Islam” so even though “burning houses of worship is a crime” their “crime” is far worse, so Church-burning (and killing Copts) is justified in Sharia . Note the allusion to K.2:191: “ …And Al-Fitnah is worse than killing”.

2013, 3^rd Sept. Abstracted “IsraelNews”. Canada: A Shiite Muslim Cleric, Dr. Khalil Tabatabai: “There is a significant economic advantage to the application of Muslim law in regards to the amputation of a thief’s hand, as well as the stoning of adulterers”. Tabatabai pointed out that it would save the government and taxpayers a lot of money if the judicial system went according to Muslim law. The doctor also gave arguments in favour of the death penalty in cases of adultery, and lashes in the case of imbibing alcohol or spreading libel. Stoning and crucifixion are other prescribed punishments in Islamic law. Comment: barbarity “justified” by economics in a recession, hmmmm.

On anti-Semitism.

2013, 8^th Aug. Abstracted “The Blaze”. Canada. Former President of Palestine House in Toronto (a group known to support “extremism”), Elias Hazineh. “We have to give them [Jews] an ultimatum. You have to leave Jerusalem. You have to leave Palestine, and the people of Palestine who have been waiting in refugee camps in Lebanon, in Syria, in Egypt and in Jordan must have their right to return to their homes…We say get out or you are dead. We give them two minutes and then we start shooting and that’s the only way they will understand” Comment: Setting aside the fact the “people of Palestine” have been shooting – and bombing and rocketing – “the Jews” for decades, here we have yet another good Mussalman calling for Jews to be murdered – nothing new of course, just the same-old same-old. At least you have to give ’em marks for consistency.

2013, 7^th Sept. Abstracted “Daily Muslim”. Iranian Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shiraz: “The Holocaust is nothing but superstition, but Zionists say that people of the world should be forced to accept this. The truth about the Holocaust is not clear, and when the researchers want to examine whether it is true or the Jews have created it to pose as victims, they jail the researchers.” Comment: One could argue that Shiraz might be an expert on Islam superstition of course, but he’s still wrong.

On Islamic Politics.

2013, 3^rd Aug. Abstracted “GBC”. Ayman al-Zawahri has urged the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt to give up on democracy and rule by sharia law. He told supporters of ousted President Mursi that events in Egypt proved that following democracy had failed, and sharia was the only legitimate way. Comment: two things here: 1. A rejection of democracy (unless it serves the Islamists’ aims that is) and NOTE CAREFULLY 2. Only sharia is “legitimate”. Next time a Muslim talks about “legitimate” rulers or “political legitimacy” etc., you’ll know what is meant.

On the status and treatment of Muslim women.

2013, 26^th July. Abstracted “Christianity Today”. Nigerian senator Ahmad Sani Yerima has has succeeded in stopping the removal of a clause from Nigeria’s Constitution, which critics say remains a loophole, through which marriage of under-age girls remains possible under sharia law, claiming such a move as “un-Islamic”. He insisted that under Islamic tenets, a woman is “of age” once married, and to counter that order would be discriminatory and in violation of another section of the Constitution. During his time as governor of Zamfara State he was responsible for the introduction of Sharia Law to a state where Muslims are in a minority. Comment: Another Muslim defends the “marriage” – i.e. abuse and rape – of girl-children. (Note: since the introduction of Sharia law to Zamfara, it has become a dangerous place to be a non-Muslim.)

2013 31^st July. Abstracted “Rawa News”. A Muslim girl was murdered on the Authority of an Imam who issued a death-fatwa against her for “illegal sexual intercourse”. Provincial security chief Sharafuddin Sharfa had the Imam arrested, saying “This was an illegal act, since a woman should be tried for her crimes according to the Sharia law. The judiciary institutions are active in Afghanistan and the Fatwa against the victim was unfair.” Comment: Note that the Imam has not been arrested for inciting murder, but for failing to follow due process. The implication is that it would have been fine to kill the girl, if the Sharia court convicted her.

2013, 9^th Aug. Abstracted “AllAfrica”. Muslim Cleric Hussaini Zakariya Ustaz has advised that it is better for women to stay at home and observe the last 10 days of Ramadan seeking the Laylatul Qadri (night of majesty) than to go to Ihtikaf (Mosque seclusion) where they engage in unruly acts that earn them sins instead of rewards… On the controversial Muslim marriage to [young] girls, he said no amount of blackmail would intimidate Muslims into doing the wrong thing on the controversial early marriage to girls, as Islam did not fix any age for marriage. Comment: A “bogof” deal here! Not only should women stay in their homes, Muslims will never stop marrying pre-pubescent girls – Alhamdulillah! (Excuse me while I go to throw up.)

2013, 14^th Aug. Abstracted “AsiaNews”. Sheikh ul-Islam Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, leader of Hefajat-e-Islam: “You women should sit in the house of your husband, take care of his things and raise his children. This is your job. Why should you leave the house?”… “Why send your daughters to work in textile factories? They leave home at 7 am and do not come back before midnight. You do not know what men they are with, you do not know how many zina [unlawful sexual activity] they are involved in”…”You spend thousands of thaka [national currency, ed] to send her to school, high school, college. Allow her to study until the fourth grade. This is all she needs to keep the household accounts after she gets married.” Comment: It’s almost boring to hear of yet another “Sheikh” saying that women should be kept in the home and not educated beyond the minimum to run a house. A classic example of Islamic “women’s rights”!

2013, 1^st Sept. Abstracted “Carbonated TV”. Previously Al-’Arifi and some other Muslim clerics permitted jihadists to rape Syrian women. Another cleric named Habib bin Omar bin Salim said that sitting on a chair is prohibited for a practising Muslim woman because the Jinnat (spiritual creatures) can then perform sexual acts on a woman. Comment: more barking-mad Imams. Problem is, it is Islam that induces this sort of insanity (amongst many others).

2013, Sept. 18^th. Abstracted “International Business times”. Saudi Cleric Muhammad Ali Shanqiti: “There are four types of women in Heaven. First, there are those of this world who enter Heaven. Every one comes with 70 black-eyed virgins. The second type of women in Heaven is the black-eyed virgin. Each one comes with 70 girl servant. These girl servant are the third type. Sorry, there are only three types of women in Heaven. If you happen to get married in this world, then [in Heaven], you get your wife back from this world, along with 70 black-eyed virgins with whom you are permitted to have sexual intercourse, and each of these virgins comes with 70 girl servant. So how many women do you get [to enjoy]? That’s the minimum number. Now, let’s presume that you get married to 4 wives. Each of them comes with 70 black-eyed virgins, while each virgin comes with 70 girl servants. How many is it? May Allah help you. Your reunion with your wife lasts for 70 earthly years. When those 70 years are about to end, another black-eyed virgin comes to you from Heaven sayng: “Oh servant of Allah, can’t we get a piece of you?” You look at her to see that she is even more beautiful than the one you are presently with. You ask her: “Who are you?” and she answers: “I’m your virgin in Heaven. Allah told you about me, saying: ‘There is more of them with Us’. I am one of the ‘more’.” Comment: This is the pinnacle of “spirituality” for Muslims in paradise (along with a permanent erection). Note that all these women are just sex-slaves. Think about what this says about Muslim attitudes to women.

On the status and treatment of non-Muslim women.

2013, 8^th Aug. Abstracted “Sky News”. Two British teenagers who were doing voluntary work as teachers at an orphanage in Zanzibar have been attacked with acid thrown by two men on a motorcycle. The attack took place in Zanzibar’s capital Stone Town. The girls received burns (not thought to be very serious) to their faces and bodies. The attack came at the end of the Muslim ‘holy month’ of Ramadan as people began to celebrate the Eid holiday. Both of the girls were aware of how to behave appropriately in a Muslim country and had been correctly dressed for Ramadan being “fully aware of the customs of a Muslim country.” Deputy Police Commissioner Mkadam Khamis told Sky News the attack had “nothing to do with Ramadan” – i.e. Islam. From the BBC: Islam is the main religion on Zanzibar and according to the Foreign Office “violent and armed crime is increasing” and “there is an underlying threat from [Islamic] terrorism”. From “Arutz Sheva”: Oli Cohen [family friend, said] “I know they felt uneasy being in public. Some people would stare or say things to them. I think white, good-looking North London Jewish girls walking around in Zanzibar always make them a target as it’s a Muslim country.” From the “Telegraph”: (10^th Aug.) A hardline Islamic group called Uamsho may have inspired the attack. The group, which wants Zanzibar to become fully independent from Tanzania and impose strict Muslim rules, is thought to be behind anti-Christian leaflets distributed in recent weeks telling Muslims to prepare for “a call” to action. Uamsho is suspected of being behind the shooting dead of a Catholic priest in February. Uamsho’s Muslim cleric Sheikh Ponda Issa Ponda has spent the last two weeks in Zanzibar urging Muslims to rise up “like in Egypt”. The girls had been attacked twice before during their 2 week stay. Comment: Disfiguring Muslim women with acid is commonplace in (some) Muslim Countries, but now an attack on foreign “aid workers” – just like the Taliban in Afghanistan did and do; though the Taliban are usually more merciful and just shoot them dead, rather than attempting to disfigure them for life. Note also how the reportage has moved from saying “it’s nothing to do with Islam” to “a hardline islamic group may have inspired the attack.” baby steps, but in the right direction.

2013, 20^th Aug. Malik Ibn Benaisa, a Muslim imam based in Ceuta in comments aired on Spanish TV: “Any woman who wears perfume and leaves the house and walks past men who can smell her perfume is a fornicator, and every glance she gets is a fornication…. A women cannot show her face or bare hands, she cannot wear high heeled shoes, she cannot wear blue jeans, she must wear a scarf to cover her chest, she cannot pluck her eyebrows and she cannot wear perfume because if she uses it she becomes a fornicator. A woman must keep her head down because a jealous husband can cause problems with other men. A woman should be in total submission to her husband. She has an obligation to wear the veil [niqab].” In a separate set of statements he later defended his remarks saying they were “meant for Muslim women [only and] in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet and the Koran”. Comment: Of course Benaisa is correct – what he says is “in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet and the Koran” no argument there. Of course he is weazelling: “any woman” isn’t “Muslim women only” – unless he only regards Muslims as humans of course – so his true belief is clear. All women should burkha-up and act like the slaves they are meant to be .

Ordinary Muslims don’t support these views! … Do they?

2013, 28^th July. According to this report four Moroccan Muslim immigrants in Italy broke into Church buildings, stole money then defecated and urinated on or next to the altar. As the local priest noted, had a non-Muslim done the same to a mosque then the non-Muslim could expect “to have his throat cut”. Comment: And Muslims demand that others respect Islam?

2013, 2^nd Aug. Abstracted “Charisma News”. Nidal Malik Hasan. “There is an inherent and irreconcilable conflict [between Sharia law and American democracy]. … In an American Democracy ‘we the people’ govern according to what ‘we the people’ think is right or wrong; even if it specifically goes against what All-Mighty God commands… “He [al-Awlaki] was my teacher, mentor and friend. I hold him in high esteem for trying to educate Muslims about their duties to our creator. May All-Mighty Allah accept his martyrdom.” Comment: Yet another good Muslim tells us that Islam and (Western) democracy are incompatible and, implicitly, that “educated” Muslims both know this and act on Allah’s other demands – e.g. killing Kaffirs.

2013, 14^th Aug. Abstracted “Associated Press”. The aid group Doctors Without Borders [Medecin sans Frontiere] said Wednesday it is pulling out Somalia after 22 years of work there because of attacks on its staff. “In choosing to kill, attack, and abduct humanitarian aid workers, armed groups [al Shabab etc.] and the civilian authorities who tolerate their actions, have sealed the fate of countless lives in Somalia,” said Dr. Unni Karunakara, MSF’s international president. Al-Shabab still controls much of the country’s south. The group allows very few outside aid groups to operate in its territory. Comment: Why attack those helping you? If they are kafirs (as many such aid workers are) then according to al-Wara wal-Bara they must be hated – and their help not accepted .

2013, 16^th Aug. Related to the above, from “AllAfrica”: Al-Shabaab militants looted Doctors Without Borders (MSF) hospitals in Dinsor and Mararey after the relief agency announced that it is pulling out of Somalia, Garowe Online reported Thursday (August 15th). Residents in the Dinsor district of Bay region reported heavily armed al-Shabaab militants forcing their way into the hospital and taking away medial equipment, computers and drugs. Witnesses in Middle Jubba region also reported that armed militias arrived at the hospital on Thursday morning and ordered local staff to hand over keys to the building and the stockpiles of drugs. Comment: First you terrorise the Kafir and force them out, then you loot their property. (Readers of this series may recall similar events in Syria where “Islamists” were forcing Christians to flee leaving all their possessions behind.) After all, all the “booty” of the earth belongs to Allah – and thus the “true-believer” Muslims.

2013, 2^nd Sept. Abstracted “Forward”. A French imam known for promoting Jewish-Muslim relations was physically assaulted in Tunisia by a man who called him a “Zionist.” Chalghoumi, who is well-known in France for his involvement in interfaith forums and initiatives, has received many death threats in France for his friendly ties with CRIF, the umbrella group representing French Jewish communities, and for visiting Israel several times. Comment: Another Muslim threatened and attacked for “not being Muslim enough” to hate kafirs.

2013, 3^rd Sept. Abstracted “Ansa”.Florence, Italy. Police arrested an Egyptian man in Florence after his wife, who had been beaten by him, begged hospital staff for help. She said her husband had been abusing her for three years and even threatened her with death after he had imposed what he called “the rules of Islam” on their household. Her family said the 33-year-old husband strictly controlled her, refusing her permission to leave the house and barring visitors unless he was present. The breaking point came last month, the woman said, when he beat her and threatened her with a kitchen knife. Comment: that’s entirely correct under Islam, what ‘s her objection?

In the “Wow! Fancy that!” category: 2013, 16^th July. Abstracted “OSACR”. An atheist association in the Czech Republic (OSACR) filed a legal complaint against the formal head of Czech Muslims – Muneeb Hassan Alrawi. The complaint centres on his potential illegal conduct in a sermon where he calls on Muslims to teach their children to hate “kufr” [here meaning both unbelief and, implicitly, non-Muslims] and to beat them [Muslim children] if they refuse to pray. Comment: I could scarcely believe my eyes! A MUSLIM to be prosecuted for hate-preach! Whatever next. If it goes on like this (see rest of article) Czechoslovakia may be the safest place for non-Muslims.

Mostly for laughs.

Its not all doom and gloom in the Dar-ul-Islam. Some things are just too funny for me to ignore …

2013, 31^st July. Abstracted “al-Arabiya”. Aleppo: A fatwa issued by the Council of the United Judiciary, affiliated with the rebel Free Syrian Army, stipulated a year in jail for anyone not fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. Another fatwa banned “Muslim women wearing makeup and tight clothes that reveal physical features from going out.” and to show how seriously Islamic they all are, a third fatwa ruled croissants ‘haram’ (forbidden in Islamic law) because of their “colonial” significance, because their “crescent shape celebrates European victory over Muslims”. Comment: The penalties for not fasting or burkaing up are so commonplace as not not merit a comment, but banning croissants? Outrageous! I could understand them banning hot cross buns, but croissants? Surely they are a most Islamically shaped food!
