Would a True God Burn People Eternally?

    Dear Saket the Charvak,,

If Sanatana Dharma is believing in gods like Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, Rama, Krishna Indra etc. then they are bad examples. All of them have committed some or many of the sins like (murder, rape, gang rape, bestiality, voyeurism, kidnapping, homosexuality, incest, theft, polygamy, prostitution, fornication, adultery) which is explicitly documented in many ancient scriptures (Puranas, Vedas, Upanishads, Mahabharata, Gita, Ramayana etc. Plenty of documentary proof available), thus they cannot be God (Pure and Holy Sinless Creator).

If Santana Dharma does not believe in gods mentioned above but believes in a single God who created or existed before matter and time were created, then we can proceed further.

Who is the accountant keeping an account of good and bad deeds?

What happens if some one does bad deeds in one life but in next life does good deeds and then in the third life does worst sins etc.?

How can the soul attain perfection when it does not know what sins you did in the past life?

Do you remember or know what sins you did in the past life (if there was one?)

If this Sanatana Dharma god is recycling lives, then why is the population of the earth growing with geometric progression (The population should be static or constant in a closed recycled system)

If you don’t know your past life sins or don’t know the law, then you are not responsible for repeating the sins or breaking the law. (All law made by humans rest on this principle that you are not guilty if you did not know the law which you have broken)

Is there an ultimate place for the soul (hell, Heaven, Transitionary phase/place)? Who controls it?

  2. Saket -the-Charvak says:

Dear Found the Truth thanks for engaging me.I don’t know how you found the truth .Because as i know the truth is always elusive for a duelist. Since there is no substitute exist for truth as the Santana dharma proclaims in Vedas .A person, who has realized the truth ,becomes the truth and truth and truth !!!,–no more engagement is required for such an accomplished soul.
I am basing my answers on Vedic Scripture writtin in Sanskrit which are validated by inumarable saints and myself through persoal experience.

First you need to understand the scheme behind the creation of this Visible infinite Universe.

In nature, there are 3 things which even GOD did not create and they always existed.

As per Indian religious scriptures which are validated by saints, first is God, second is infinite number of souls(OF THREE MAIN TYPES) and finally the inanimate matter. He only creates the world using the inanimate matter and engages the 3 types of souls in this world to make them eligible for their respective destinations.

The GOD creates this Universe out of his infinite powers, with love for the souls, and allows, as the GREATEST democrat, the souls to do what they wish. They have a certain degree of freedom and make their choices and have to eat the fruits of their choices.

Even among the souls, there are three main types: Good, Bad and Mediocre.

The Good souls, who have no knowledge, and not learnt any discipline and have acquired some bad qualities due to their association with bad souls, slowly give up their bad qualities (by virtue of hard work and association with better souls), gain knowledge and discipline, become perfect and hence eligible for the Liberation finally.

The bad souls, who might have acquired some good qualities due to education, good company, etc., in the course of thousands of births, slowly give up their good qualities completely and turn perfectly bad and are sent to permanent HELL where they suit. GOD did not make the Souls good or bad. Such souls already exist.

The mediocre souls who are 50-50 good and bad, turn whichever side becomes stronger and when they are hardened, they are finally sent to a permanent MEDIOCRE world where they have 50-50 pleasure and pain always.

God makes people do everything according to their choices. He is not responsible for their choices. Each individual souls is responsible for his/her own choices and has to face the consequences of his/her choices. God is only the facilitator.

Hell or Heaven are only intermediate stops/halts in the journey of the 3 types of souls towards their destiny. Every soul (may be good, bad or mediocre), commits some mistakes and undertakes some good deeds knowingly or unknowingly. At the end of each birth, the souls enjoys the fruits of “one’s deeds in one lifetime”. After the sins or merits are exhausted by undergoing joy or pain in heaven or hell respectively, they are sent back to earth (be born again) to continue their journey towards perfection of their true nature which is different for different people.

After going through the cycle of birth and death thousands of times, souls attain perfection and go to their permanent destinations where they belong.

Everyone needs to be obliged and grateful to GOD for facilitating the evolution of the individual souls.

All the people are related in this world as people we meet in an inn. When we believe that they belong to us we feel the pain. If we give up our feeling of my and mine, we are liberated. We don’t feel anything when somebody not related us actually dies.

All people are in different stages of spiritual evolution.

We will not forget what we do. We will learn essential things in life and remember them when required. At the time of enlightenment, you shall know about all your births.

The purpose of our life is to get into good company, learn better things and totally give up our false ego and become perfect to go to the Liberated world.

This world is not chaotic, though it may appear so, and there is the definite scheme behind it. Nothing is a waste and everything has a purpose.

  4. Found The Truth says:

    What can God not do?

    Evangelist R. W. Schambach writes:
“I’ll never forget, the greatest miracle I ever witnessed began with an offering. It happened under the ministry of Brother A. A. Allen.
I was with this man of God for about five years in the fifties. . .”
“. . . . A woman brought her child, who had twenty-six major diseases, to our meeting. I’ll never forget this as long as I live.
The boy was born blind, deaf and mute. Both arms were crippled and deformed. His elbows protruded up into his little tummy; his knees touched his elbows. Both legs were crippled and deformed; he had club feet. When he was born, his doctors said that boy would never live to see his first birthday, but they were wrong; he was approaching four years of age. Of course, his condition was breaking his mama’s heart. She came to our meetings all week, and I got concerned about that boy. In those crusades, we had each person with a need fill out a prayer card, and as the Holy Spirit moved, we would pray for the needs God inspired us to pray for. And the Holy Spirit didn’t seem to be moving us to pray for that little boy.”
“The following Sunday, his mother came to me and said, ‘Brother Schambach, I’m down to my last twenty dollars. I’ve paid the hotel bill, but we’ve been eating in the restaurant, coming to three services a day and giving in every offering. All the money has run out. My baby has not been prayed for.’ She was very upset, and she was ready to give up and go home.”
“I said ‘Ma’am, I can’t apologize for the moving of the Holy Ghost. I know you have to leave tonight, but if you come to the service and, once again, the Holy Spirit leads in another direction, and your son’s prayer card is not drawn for prayer, I will personally take your baby to the man of God’s trailer house and see that he lays hands on your baby. You will not leave disappointed.’ And I meant that from my heart.” “That night I came out, and I led the singing in that evening service. Then I introduced Brother A. A. Allen, and he came bouncing out on that platform and said ‘Tonight we’re going to receive an offering of faith.’ I had never heard him use that expression before, and I saw eyebrows lift all over the congregation. He went on, ‘Now, if you don’t know what I mean when I say an ‘offering of faith,’ I mean for you to give God
something you cannot afford to give. That’s a good definition, isn’t it? If you can afford it, there’s no faith connected to it. So give Him something you can’t afford to give.'” “As soon as Brother Allen said that, I saw that boy’s mother leap out into the aisle and come running. Three thousand people were watching her in that Birmingham Fairgrounds Arena as she threw something in that offering bucket. I never saw anybody in such a hurry to give, and, I confess, I was nosy. I came down off that platform to see what she had given. You know what I saw in that bucket? A twenty dollar bill.”
“I knew that was all she had. She had told me that. She had driven from Knoxville, Tennessee, to the meeting in Birmingham, Alabama. She didn’t know how she was going to get home or what she was going to use to feed herself and her baby on the way. I went behind the platform and wept. I prayed, ‘Lord, I’ve been trying to teach that woman faith all week. But now I’m asking You to give me faith like she’s got!'”
“. . . Brother Allen went on and collected the offering and launched into his sermon. But about fifteen minutes into his message he stopped and said, ‘I’m being carried away in the Spirit.'” “I said to myself, ‘Here we go again on another trip.’ This is how God used him: he said he could see what the Holy Spirit wanted to communicate to him like he was watching it on a television screen. He would describe it as he saw it. That night he said, ‘I’m being carried away to a huge white building. Oh, it’s a hospital.’ Of course, I heard this kind of thing every night that I worked with Brother Allen so I was sitting there unmoved.” “Then he said, ‘I’m inside the hospital, and there’s no doubt in my mind where I’m heading because I hear all these babies crying.
It’s a maternity ward. I see five doctors around a table. A little baby has been born. The baby was born with twelve, no, sixteen, no, twenty-six diseases.'”
“When he said that, I started getting chill bumps up and down my spine. I said, ‘Oh, my God, tonight’s that baby’s night!” “Brother Allen continued, ‘Twenty-six diseases. The doctors said he’d never live to see his first birthday, but that’s not so. That boy is approaching four. Now I see the mother packing a suitcase.
They’re going on a trip. Another lady’s with her. The baby’s in a bassinet. It’s in the back seat of an old Ford. They’re driving down the highway. I see the Alabama/Tennessee border. That automobile is driving in the parking lot. Lady you’re here tonight. Bring me that baby! God’s going to give you twenty-six miracles.'” “That woman came running again for the second time that night. She put the baby in Brother Allen’s arms. I jumped up to stand beside him, and everybody in the audience, 3,000 strong, was standing. Brother Allen must have wanted to be sure that the audience was agreeing in faith for the miracle because he said, ‘Everybody, close your eyes.’ But I thought, ‘Not me, mister. I’m going to be scriptural on this one. I’m going to watch and pray. I’ve been waiting for this all week. ‘” “That little boy’s tongue had been hanging out of his mouth all
week. The first thing I saw as Brother Allen prayed was that tongue snapped back in the mouth like a rubber band. For the first time in four years, the little guy’s tongue was in his mouth. I saw two little whirlpools in his eyes, just a milky color. You couldn’t tell whether he had blue or brown or what color of eyes.
But during the prayer, that whirlpool ceased, and I saw two brand new brown eyes! I knew God had opened his eyes, and if God opened the eyes, I knew He had unstopped the deaf ears.” “Then those little arms began to snap like pieces of wood; and for the first time, they stretched out. The legs cracked like wood popping. All of sudden, I saw God form toes out of those club feet as easily as child forms something with silly-putty. The crowd was watching by this time going wild! I’ve never seen any people shout and rejoice so much in all my life.”
“I saw that baby placed on his feet, and he began to run for the first time in his life. He had never seen his mama before, never said a word, but he began running across the platform and I was running right after him to catch him. He leaped into his mama’s arms, and I heard him say his first word, ‘Mama.'”
” . . . . The following Saturday after his healing, I received a special delivery letter from his mother. . . She said ‘Brother Schambach, I took the baby to the hospital Monday morning, and the doctors won’t give him back. They kept him all week. They have called in every doctor from all over the country who has had anything to do with the case. They have pronounced my baby cured of twenty-six major diseases.’ Of course, we went on to get the copies of the affidavits from the doctors certifying that boy’s life was a genuine miracle.”
“Her letter continued, ‘You remember that last Sunday when I told you all I had was twenty dollars? God knows that was the truth.
But when that man of God said to give something you can’t afford, I leaped into the aisle. The moment I hit that aisle, for the first time in my life I heard the devil talk. The devil told me, ‘You can’t give that; that’s not yours. Fifteen dollars of that goes to the doctor. Five dollars is for gas to get home.’ The faster I ran, the faster he talked. But as soon as I turned loose of that money, he stopped talking.’
“‘Brother Schambach, all you saw was those twenty-six miracles, but there is one you don’t know anything about. After you were gone, people were staying there. They wanted to see the baby and see what God had done. People shook hands with me. When one lady shook my hands, I felt a folded piece of paper between my palms. I opened it up and saw it was a twenty dollar bill. As I shook hands with the people who had lined up, every one of them had a folded paper in their hand. I went into the ladies room and counted $235!'”

  5. Face_The_Truth says:

‘The fundamental difference between the Sanãtana Dharma family of faiths on the one hand, and the “only true” creeds like Christianity and Islam on the other, can be drawn out in the form of a dialogue between a Soviet citizen and a citizen from a free society.

The story may not be literally true.

But, it is illustrative of what can happen to human mind when it is deprived of freedom, and is regimented by blind beliefs imposed from outside.

A FREE SOCIETY VERSUS A CLOSED FRATERNITY

A Soviet diplomat arrived in the capital of a democratic country on a commercial mission on behalf of his government.

The mission was to continue for several months, and the hotel in which the diplomat had to stay immediately on his arrival was rather expensive by Soviet standards.

Next day, the diplomat approached the enquiry counter of the hotel and asked the lady in attendance, “Where can I find your Housing Committee?”

The lady could not understand his question and asked him to elaborate.

The diplomat explained, “You see, I cannot stay for long in this expensive place. I want to apply to the appropriate authority for allotment of adequate, but cheaper accommodation.”

The lady picked up the telephone directory, opened it at a particular page, and told the diplomat, “Sorry, we have no such committee in this city or anywhere else in this country. You have to go to an estate agent who will show you all kinds of accommodation and negotiate for the one you approve of finally. The leading estate agents are listed on this page. You may phone to any one of them for an appointment.”

    The diplomat was visibly annoyed.

He shoved aside the telephone directory and shot his next question, “And, where can I find your Food Committee?”

The lady informed him that there was no such committee either.

    The diplomat was now furious!

He shouted, “How and where, then, do I buy the food which I will need everyday? I must have the necessary permit.”

The lady assured him patiently that he needed NO permit, and that he could go into any of the hundreds of stores to buy whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.

By now the diplomat was in tantrums!

He taunted, “I suppose you have no Transport Committee either?”

The lady kept her cool and said with a smile, “Why, there are all those taxies standing and cruising all over this city. You can hire any one of them at any time of the day or night and go wherever you please.”

The Soviet diplomat gave up in utter disgust.

There was sadness writ large on his face!

He shook his head several times and said to himself, “Very bad! Very bad indeed! There is no system in this country. It is a chaos all around. I feel lost.”

    SPIRITUAL FREEDOM VERSUS RELIGIOUS REGIMENTATION

A follower of closed creeds like Christianity and Islam finds himself in a similar situation when faced with the spiritual freedom that is Sanãtana Dharma.

He discovers very soon that Sanãtana Dharma does not fit into any of the mental moulds to which he is wedded, and which he seeks in other systems of thought.

He is most likely to shake his head in utter disgust and feel lost like our diplomat from a closed social system stationed in the metropolis of a free society.

An encounter between a monotheist and an informed follower of Sanãtana Dharma is, therefore, sure to develop along similar lines.

The first point in which the followers of closed creeds take great pride is the “historicity” of the only saviour or the last prophet who was sent by or who received the “full and final revelation” from the “one and only true God.”

The first question which such a faithful will put to a student of Sanãtana Dharma, therefore, is bound to be as follows:

“Who is your only saviour or your last prophet? Where was he born and brought up? Where and when and before which apostles or companions did he teach, preach, and reveal?”

A student of Sanãtana Dharma cannot but reply as follows:

“The very concept of a historical saviour or prophet is foreign to Sanãtana Dharma. We do not concede the monopoly of spiritual truth or moral virtue to any historical person, howsoever great or highly honoured. Everyone has to be one’s own saviour, one’s own prophet. One has to discover the spiritual truths for one’s own self, if that truth has to have any meaning for one or any validity in one’s life. A truth discovered by someone else cannot become my truth unless I rediscover it for myself. Scriptures and spiritual teachers can be my aids and guides, and may help me in my search for truth. But the truth of which the scriptures speak or which the teachers expound cannot become a truth for me unless it comes alive in my own consciousness, and starts transforming my own life. Moreover, the very ‘historicity’ in which you take pride is for us the hallmark of the ephemeral and the false. We reject a historical religion as pauruSeya prasthãna, idiosyncrasies of a particular person, no matter how you hail him. That which was born in history has also died in history. You are showing devotion to what is dead and gone.”

Next, the followers of closed creeds are mighty proud of being as Ahl-i-Kitãb or the People of the Book.

They are sure that the “only true revelation” from the “one and only true God” is contained in the book (al-kitãb) which was compiled by the apostles of the only saviour or the companions of the last prophet, after the saviour or the prophet had passed away and could speak no more.

They believe that nothing can be taken out from or added to this “book” which is supposed to contain the final truth for all time to come.

Therefore, the second question which such a faithful will put to a follower of Sanãtana Dharma is as follows:

“Which is the book in which you believe, or your al-kitãb?”

A student of Sanãtana Dharma is sure to reply as follows:

“What for do we need a book? The whole spiritual truth, every shastra, is secret in the human heart. Anyone, anywhere, at any time can have access to the spiritual realm provided one seeks for it sincerely, and prepares oneself for entering it. Many seers and saints have seen it in as many ways, spoken of it and in as many languages and by means of as many metaphors. The Vedas provide one version of it, the Jainãgama another, the TripiTaka yet another, and so on down to the latest Hindu saint such as Shri RamaKrishna, or the latest Hindu sage such as Raman Maharshi. Different sects of Sanãtana Dharma have collected the sayings and songs of different sages and saints in as many books which these sects cherish as their shastras. But, these shastras are not at all what you describe as the book or al-kitãb, even by distant definition. Your creed will get lost for good if your the book or al-kitãb gets lost. The book or al-kitãb cannot be recovered because the person who preached it or to whom it was revealed is dead and gone. But Sanãtana Dharma will lose nothing if all its shastras are lost. All old shastras and many more can be recovered from inside the human heart, where all of them are ultimately enshrined.”

By now the follower of a closed creed is most likely to feel flabbergasted by what he has been brainwashed to regard as blasphemy!

The third question which such a faithful will put to a student of Sanãtana Dharma is as follows:

“You have no only saviour, no last prophet. You have no al-kitãb. How, then, do you know who is your one and only true god? How do you distinguish this one and only true god from the many false gods which abound all around you?”

At this stage the student of Sanãtana Dharma will have to smile and say:

“According to our spiritual tradition, testified by a long line of spiritual seekers, the way to God-discovery is through Self-discovery. As one proceeds on that inner voyage one sees spiritual truths in many forms. None of these forms is false. It is only one’s seeking which can falter and lead to one’s fall from the path of spiritual progress by insisting that this or that form alone is true. Sanãtana Dharma stands squarely for a human becoming God in the process of Self-discovery — Ãtman becoming Parmãtman, PuruSa becoming PuruSottama. This is the path of world-discovery as well. The deeper one dives into oneself, the faster one’s world gets divinised. One starts seeing God in every human being, in every animal, in every plant, in every stone. One feels free to worship God in any from or in all forms at the same time. One also feels free not to worship God at all, and to dwell within oneself in spiritual self-delight. Sanãtana Dharma, therefore, has no use for a God who makes himself known to mankind through the medium of a saviour or a prophet, or through the pages of al-kitãb or the book. Such a God must always remain external to us, and external to the world in which we live. Such a God does not permit humanhood to grow into Godhood, nor allows this world to get divinised. He has reserved all divinity for himself, and has nothing to spare for his creatures except an abject servitude to his arbitrary commandments conveyed through a saviour or a prophet chosen equally arbitrarily.”

The follower of a closed creed now shoots the last arrow in his armoury with what he believes to be deadly effect.

    He is sure to shout:

“You have failed to win the favour of the only saviour or the last prophet by not living a life according to the final commandments of the one and only true God as revealed to his only son or his last prophet in al-kitab or the book. How will the only saviour or the last prophet intercede for you on the Day of Judgement, and save you from God’s wrath and eternal hell-fire? You cannot say in all seriousness that you are not interested in going to an eternal heaven full of fair maidens, flowing with milk and honey, and fanned by ever-fragrant breezes.”

A student of Sanãtana Dharma will keep his cool and reply as follows:

“Sanãtana Dharma is not so mean and miserly in deciding human destiny. It gives many lives to every creature. One can start anew from the point where one stopped in one’s previous life. And the process does not cease till a creature has attained perfection and achieved Godhood. Everyone is a Bodhisattva destined to become the Buddha in the course of spiritual seeking! The journey is from darkness and bondage to light and freedom, and not from the sensual pleasures of this world to the sensual orgies of a high heaven. On the other hand, the only hell we know is neither situated outside ourselves, nor at the end of time. The hell is within us — in our greed and gluttony, in our hatreds and infatuations, in our self-righteousness and self-seeking, in our dark drives for power and domination, in our self-love and pursuit of pleasure. The only way out of this hell is through an awakening to the divinity within us, and through dispelling the darkness of ignorance in which we live our mundane lives. The favour or disfavour of a saviour or a prophet can neither catapult us into heaven, nor drag us down into hell. A saviour or prophet is absolutely irrelevant to the realm of spiritual progress or retrogression.”

At this point the follower of a closed creed is bound to give up in utter disgust.

    He is bound to exclaim:

“Very bad! Very bad indeed! There is no system in your bewildered beliefs. It is a free for all. What is worse, it is blasphemy against the one and only true God, against the only saviour or the last prophet sent by Him, and against the only true revelation conveyed by Him through a mighty messenger.”

  6. Saket -the-Charvak says:

A Hindu was flying from JFK New York Airport to SFO San Francisco Airport CA to attend a meeting at Monterey, CA. An American girl was sitting on the right side, near window seat. It indeed was a long journey – it would take nearly seven hours. He was surprised to see the young girl reading a Bible unusual of young Americans. After some time she smiled and we had few acquaintances talk.He told her that I am from India Then suddenly the girl asked: ‘What’s your faith?’ ‘What?’ He didn’t understand the question. ‘I mean, what’s your religion? Are you a Christian? Or a Muslim?’ ‘No!’ He replied, ‘He am neither Christian nor Muslim’. Apparently she appeared shocked to listen to that. ‘Then who are you?’ “I am a Hindu”, He said. She looked at him as if she was seeing a caged animal. She could not understand what He was talking about. A common man in Europe or US knows about Christianity and Islam, as they are the leading religions of the world today. But a Hindu, what? He explained to her – I am born to a Hindu father and Hindu mother. Therefore, I am a Hindu by birth. ‘Who is your prophet?’ she asked. ‘We don’t have a prophet,’ He replied. ‘What’s your Holy Book?’ ‘We don’t have a single Holy Book, but we have hundreds and thousands of philosophical and sacred scriptures,’ He replied. ‘Oh, come on at least tell me who is your God?’ ‘What do you mean by that?’ ‘Like we have Jesus and Muslims have Allah – don’t you have a God?’ He thought for a moment. Muslims and Christians believe one God (Male God) who created the world and takes an interest in the humans who inhabit it. Her mind is conditioned with that kind of belief. According to her (or anybody who doesn’t know about Hinduism), a religion needs to have one Prophet, one Holy book and one God. The mind is so conditioned and rigidly narrowed down to such a notion that anything else is not acceptable. He understood her perception and concept about faith. You can’t compare Hinduism with any of the present leading religions where you have to believe in one concept of God. He tried to explain to her: ‘You can believe in one God and he can be a Hindu. You may believe in multiple deities and still you can be a Hindu. What’s more – you may not believe in God at all, still you can be a Hindu. An Atheist can also be a Hindu.’ This sounded very crazy to her. She couldn’t imagine a religion so unorganized, still surviving for thousands of years, even after onslaught from foreign forces. ‘I don’t understand but it seems very interesting. Are you religious?’ What can He tell to this American girl? He said: ‘I do not go to Temple regularly. I do not make any regular rituals. I have learned some of the rituals in my younger days. I still enjoy doing it sometimes’. ‘Enjoy? Are you not afraid of God?’ ‘God is a friend. No- I am not afraid of God. Nobody has made any compulsions on me to perform these rituals regularly.’ She thought for a while and then asked: ‘Have you ever thought of converting to any other religion?’ ‘Why should I? Even if I challenge some of the rituals and faith in Hinduism, nobody can convert me from Hinduism. Because, being a Hindu allows me to think independently and objectively, without conditioning. I remain as a Hindu never by force, but choice.’ He told her that Hinduism is not a religion, but a set of beliefs and practices. It is not a religion like Christianity or Islam because it is not founded by any one person or does not have an organized controlling body like the Church or the Order, I added. There is no institution or authority.. ‘So, you don’t believe in God?’ she wanted everything in black and white. ‘I didn’t say that. I do not discard the divine reality. Our scripture, or Sruthis or Smrithis – Vedas and Upanishads or the Gita – say God might be there or he might not be there. But we pray to that supreme abstract authority (Para Brahma) that is the creator of this universe.’ ‘Why can’t you believe in one personal God?’ ‘We have a concept – abstract – not a personal god. The concept or notion of a personal God, hiding behind the clouds of secrecy, telling us irrational stories through few men whom he sends as messengers, demanding us to worship him or punish us, does not make sense. I don’t think that God is as silly as an autocratic emperor who wants others to respect him or fear him.’ He told her that such notions are just fancies of less educated human imagination and fallacies, adding that generally ethnic religious practitioners in Hinduism believe in personal Gods. The entry level Hinduism has over-whelming superstitions too. The philosophical side of Hinduism negates all superstitions. ‘Good that you agree God might exist. You told that you pray. What is your prayer then?’ ‘Loka Samastha Sukino Bhavantu. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti,’ लोका समस्ता सुखिनो भवन्तु !!! ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः !!! ‘Funny,’ she laughed, ‘What does it mean?’ ‘May all the beings in all the worlds be happy. Let there be Peace, Peace, and Peace every where.’ ‘Hmm ..very interesting. I want to learn more about this religion. It is so democratic, broad-minded and free’ she exclaimed. ‘The fact is Hinduism is a religion of the individual, for the individual and by the individual with its roots in the Vedas and the Bhagavad-Gita. It is all about an individual approaching a personal God in an individual way according to his temperament and inner evolution – it is as simple as that.’ ‘How does anybody convert to Hinduism?’ ‘Nobody can convert you to Hinduism, because it is not a religion, but it is a Culture, a way of leaving life, a set of beliefs and practices. Everything is acceptable in Hinduism because there is no single Authority or Organization either to accept you or to reject you or to oppose you on behalf of Hinduism.’ He told her – if you look for meaning in life, don’t look for it in religions; don’t go from one cult to another or from one Guru to the next. For a real seeker, He told her, the Bible itself gives guidelines when it says ‘ Kingdom of God is within you.’ I reminded her of Christ’s teaching about the love that we have for each other. That is where you can find the meaning of life. Loving each and every creation of the God is absolute and real. ‘Isavasyam idam sarvam’ Isam (the God) is present (inhabits) here everywhere – nothing exists separate from the God, because God is present everywhere. Respect every living being and non-living things as God. That’s what Hinduism teaches you. Hinduism is referred to as Sanathana Dharma, the eternal faith. It is based on the practice of Dharma, the code of life. The most important aspect of Hinduism is being truthful to oneself. Hinduism has no monopoly on ideas. It is open to all. Hindus believe in one God (not a personal one) expressed in different forms. For them, God is timeless and formless entity. Ancestors of today’s Hindus believe in eternal truths and cosmic laws and these truths are opened to anyone who seeks them. But there is a section of Hindus who are either superstitious or turned fanatic to make this an organized religion like others. The British coin the word ‘Hindu’ and considered it as a religion. He said: ‘Religions have become an MLM (multi-level- marketing) industry that has been trying to expand the market share by conversion. The biggest business in today’s world is Spirituality. Hinduism is no exception’ He said “I am a Hindu primarily because it professes Non-violence – ‘Ahimsa Paramo Dharma’ means – Non violence is the highest duty. I am a Hindu because it doesn’t condition my mind with any faith system. A man/woman who changes his/her birth religion to another religion is a fake and does not value his/her morals, culture and values in life. Hinduism is the original rather a natural yet a logical and satisfying spiritual, personal and a scientific way of leaving a life..

  7. @Brendan: You said: “Yup. He has to. If he is truly good by the absolute standard, since we are not, against that standard, that is our reward for being inherently evil beings. Why is it eternal? Because of the one we rebelled against. The punishment must match the crime. God is so good, so worthy of our obedience, our punishment is eternal when we rebel. The only way we can escape is by accepting what Christ and relying only on it.”

This is why there is so much animosity toward Christianity. It’s not because people are looking for an excuse to be immoral. It’s because of people like you spouting moronic crap like this.

Your literal understanding of a collection of 66 books and your simplistic conclusions are indicative of a very low level of consciousness. I grew up in a church that taught this stupidity and was raised by people who were so dim as to not question any of it.

Christianity will survive as it always does. But it will do so as the result of a more symbolic and less literal understanding of its scriptures – and not because of the mind-numbing nonsense that you are spouting.

Will I be cast into a lake of hellfire now, for all eternity, as the result of rejecting this poison that you preach? Only in your sick imagination. Jesus thinks you’re a dick and so do I.

    HI Anonymous,
Many people do evil and die without personally suffering the consequences of their crimes through the justice/legal system here. Specially when they control it or buy it or influence it.

They even escape the mob justice. But someone in their generation (children or grandchildren) etc. sometimes pays for it. E.g. Stalin, Mao, Deng, Lenin etc.

In Christianity we know that there is justice and judgement after life.
This is not because God wants to burn the sinners. It is because God gave us a way to escape by believing and accepting Christ as our Savior and that Christ paid for our sins by shedding his innocent blood and died for us.

If we do not accept this sacrifice (by sincere repenting and sincerely believing Christ died for our sins and rose up again) we make this choice of going to hell and not God.

Hell could be a state of being very very far from God that it could be a lake of fire/heat. We don’t have empirical evidence except NDEs and our holy scriptures and because you will know only when you go to the other side of afterlife though there are so many people (non-Christians) who have NDEs who claim to have seen or had visions of Jesus in Heaven and some have seen or had visions of Hell.

If you go through 100 NDE testimonies of former non-Christians, you will find 90 percent of them becoming Christian.

Being kind to animals or nature and not to humans will not give you salvation or take you to Heaven.

When you have the Holy Spirit of God in you (which you get when you believe in Jesus and accept him sincerely as your personal Savior who died for your sins and rose again) you will by default (automatically) become more loving, caring, compassionate, forgiving to humans (including your enemies) first and to animals and nature.

QUESTION: for the religious folks. And I mean no disrespect here. Why is worship necessary at all? Not belief, but worship? Does “God” require it and if so, why?

Hi Eric, let me share my thoughts (not really trying to answer). I don’t think god is really expecting anyone to engage in worship etc., etc., It is not at all required/necessary. All that we need to do is to develop compassion and be kind with everything, not just human beings, but with animals, trees, plants, reptiles, insects etc., etc., The heaven is here when you are surrounded by kind people, you would be surrounded by kind people when you are kind to others.

And kindness is what brings ultimate happiness. It could be from anywhere, including birds, pets and animals. We can connect to every being with love. I have many personal stories on this. Most of us experience loyalty & love dogs show to us. It is true with other pet animals too.

Living a life very well connected with mother nature is the ultimate life. I believe Hinduism is one religion that puts lot of emphasize on this. There are people mocking Hanuman, Snake God, Tree gods etc., But the more behind all this is that we should be compassionate towards everything. I am an atheist, but I never try to please god, I live a life which is compassionate. I dont care about the Heaven and Hell after the death. After all, if we can’t live this life in a good manner, what is the point worrying about the life after the death…. that is total nonsense in my view.

    Thanks

  12. @FoundTheTruth – One cannot reason with religious fundamentalists. This conversation is over with now. Bye.

  13. “Found The Truth” – Your ignorance about the Gita is appalling. This is why I usually don’t get involved in the comments on this site anymore. Too many people who have “found the truth” the one true and only truth, imposing their supreme dogma onto everyone else. Is it any wonder why the Counter Jihad movement is perceived to be a part of the Religious Right, engaged in a contest of religions?

I oppose Jihad and I oppose Islam and not because I believe that I have the one true religious dogma and everyone else is wrong. I oppose Islam because it is cruel and inhumane and because the future and Islam simply cannot coexist.

    Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Do not worry about what you eat, drink and wear and have no worry about tomorrow! These are mundane things that stupid pagans worry about. My father will provide all! Thanks Jesus great moral teachings the cornerstone of all civilisation!

“Nope God’s job is only to give free will and not to interfere in free will. My God does not interfere in free will.” But Jesus says the father will provide all our food, drink and clothes! I guess law enforcement and the criminal justice system wasn’t part of the deal? Lol.

The God of the Quran very clearly orders innocent women and children to be killed. Jesus also ordered innocent women and children to be killed. See below. Only the God of Hinduism, Lord Krishna does not order women and children to be killed. Lord Krishna killed the bad guys who were killing general people and those who attacked Him. If God appears and He does nothing to stop the evil people and says he will come back later to save people. This is a bogus god. Whenever Lord Krishna appears, He destroys the demonic and saves the general people. If you read very carefully Srimad Bhagavatam canto 10, this has all His activities. Please quote from this to backup your claims. Don’t just make things up.

“Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion – at that time I descend Myself. To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I Myself appear, millennium after millennium.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 4.7-8)

“Don’t assume that I came to bring peace on the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.” (Matthew 10:34)

“But bring here these enemies of mine, who did not want me to rule over them, and slaughter them in my presence.’” (Luke 19:27 CSB)

Only one example should suffice to illustrate the success of Jesus’ teaching; “slaughter them in my presence.”

Godfrey of Bouillon conquest of Jerusalem (c1060-1100) ― Known as the “First Crusade:”

“The defenders fled along the walls and through the city, and our men pursued them killing and cutting them down as far as Solomon’s Temple, where there was such a massacre that our men were wading ankle deep in blood … Then the crusaders rushed around the whole city, seizing gold and silver, horses and mules, and looting the housing that were full of costly things. Then, rejoicing and weeping from excess of happiness, they all came to worship and give thanks at the sepulcher of our savior Jesus. Next morning, they went cautiously up the temple roof and attacked the Saracens, both men and women [who had taken refuge there], cutting off their heads with drawn swords … Our leaders then gave orders that all the Saracen corpses should be thrown outside the city because of the stench, for almost the whole city was full of dead bodies … such a slaughter of pagans had never been seen or heard of, for they were burned in pyres like pyramids, and none save God alone knows how many they were.”

It is NOT Omnipotence that makes life of JESUS rock – it is the sinless life of JESUS.

  23. Unlike the new celebrity Atheists, I do not think all religion is ridiculous and only for the feeble minded. However, I do believe that, at this stage in human evolution, we can be grateful to the religious people who, over thousands of years tried to figure it all out. And we can take from that what works, with our modern understanding of science, including its limitations and our ability to distinguish between metaphor and literal meaning. As we evolve “religiousness” can evolve too. But to remain stuck in the literal belief of a God who is supposedly infinite but did not invent Hell, even though he’ll send you there if you don’t love his son, who is really him, but he really didn’t invent Hell… I think we can evolve beyond this nonsense into a more evolved inquiry into the nature of consciousness and the great mystery of the Divine Source of all things, both real and imagined.

“JESUS was not narcissist hence he never asked anyone to bow to him or worship him.” Yep that’s why he says anyone who rejects him is going to be burnt and on the day of judgement it will be worse for the people who rejected him than it was for the people of sodom? That’s why he says anyone who is not with me is against me? That’s why he says give up everything in your life (“have no thought for the morrow”) and be saved by following me?

“JESUS never asked anyone to worship him or bow to him. “ He says obey the commandments and since Christians claim he was god it seems he did ask that. ( Note – even a 5 year old can find quotes in the NT both in support of the position that Jesus is God and others against it – as the God man (?) contradicts himself on many subjects.

  26. Dear Anonymous –

If there is one book I have read over and over and more than any other it is the Gita. And I am amazing at how people seem to come away with remarkably different interpretations of it. That said, I agree that it does not condone most of the ugliness that is in the Quran. However, it sort of boggles my mind how a Hindu can read that book and come away with the idea that they must take a vow of non-violence or not eat meat.

  27. Anonymous says:

Real Hinduism is what is taught in the Bhagavad-Gita by Lord Krishna. Don’t be mislead by ignorant Hindus and non-Hindus. The Bhagavad-Gita is the essence of all Vedic knowledge. The Bhagavad-Gita is unique. It does not advocate slavery, no taking women captive, no rape, no eternal damnation, no hate. no stoning no female genital mutilation. These evil actions are not advocated by the Bhagavad-Gita.

  28. Tom – As for your comment about being a rebel. After getting involved briefly with let’s say “the wrong crowd” I repented and became a Born Again Christian at 14 years old. This lasted 2 years, during which I either read or listened on tape to pretty much the entire Bible. I attended church (Evangelical / Charismatic) several times a week and eventually lead the Bible study that was held during lunch, at my High School. I became a leader among other teenagers and was very much committed. Long story short, I lost my faith. That’s when the rebellion set in and with a vengeance. I have serious problems with those who are Fundamentalists about their religion, but I have come to learn to be more open minded about other ways that people experience their faith. I am certainly NOT on the same page as Sam Harris, when it comes to Christianity. His views only apply when addressing the Fundamentalists and fanatics, but not those with more nuanced and evolved views of scripture and the importance of the Jesus archetype.

  29. Tom – You have a very evolved view of Jesus and Christianity. I’m sure you’re aware it is outside of the mainstream of popular Christian doctrine. What I’m finding, in listening to Jordan Peterson, is there are others.

  30. Tom Cheria says:

As a child even after being told that I would burn in Hell for all eternity I did not have any anxiety nor did I have any blind faith to avoid unbearable pain so that is not something I can relate to. Maybe I was more of a rebel than you were. 🙁

  31. Tom Cheria says:

“I have no problem with the Jesus archetype” — Thank you!!

Christianity is all about “Jesus archetype” 🙂

  32. Tom Cheria says:

“Literal interpretation of much of the Bible ”

Bible is not written by Jesus (God for Christians) so it is perfectly fine and true that literal interpretation of Bible is not intended.

Bible is written by men inspired by the greatness of God. It is not the same as inspired by God.
Bible is history with opinions written by men of which some of the opinions are wrong as well.

Bible contains word of God i.e. life of Jesus. But bible the whole bible is not word of God.

For most Christians — Life of Jesus = Word of God.

  33. I have no problem with the Jesus archetype and I do believe that Protestant Christianity was an essential part of creating America and has done a lot of good in the world. However, the literal interpretation of much of the Bible doesn’t work for me. As metaphor, I do however see a lot of value in the stories.

  34. For me personally, growing up in the Lutheran Church, being told that I would burn in Hell for all eternity, if I did not believe that Jesus died for my sins, caused me an incredible amount of anxiety. I also could not believe that God loved me so much that he created Hell, just in case I don’t love him back. But even that kind of critical thinking made me afraid that, if I were to die while examining the absurdity of this doctrine, I might end up in Hell. So, what I learned was to have blind faith in order to avoid unbearable punishment for a God that supposedly loves me. And I feel that this kind of experience is something that millions and millions of people can relate to exactly.

  35. Tom Cheria says:

“from the time you are a child (so they can scare the bejezus out of you) that Jesus loves you so much he died for your sins. But if you don’t believe that, you will burn in Hell for all eternity”

This is being done to make kids have Jesus as role model. When they are adults they “should” be re-taught — how TRYING to live sinless has so much better probability that people could have a wonderful life.

A toddler/child does not understand probability hence that kind of teaching is needed but when they clearly understand probability they should be re-taught.

  36. Tom Cheria says:

“Why is worship necessary at all?”

No worship(literal meaning) is not necessary at all and should be shunned.

JESUS never asked anyone to worship him or bow to him. Only satan(allah) wants people bow to him.

Worship also means role model. Haven’t you heard people say music is my religion and I worship Madonna?

So if someone worship JESUS i.e. have JESUS as role model – then it is perfectly fine and that is what Christianity is.

Christianity = way of life where people ‘TRY’ to live sinless like JESUS.

Religion = way of life hence even music could be a religion for a person.

US constitution does not define religion and rightfully so.

  37. QUESTION: for the religious folks. And I mean no disrespect here. Why is worship necessary at all? Not belief, but worship? Does “God” require it and if so, why?

  38. More sidestepping. Not all Christians believe in Hell. However, the majority of mainstream Christian denominations, both Protestant and Catholic DO teach you, from the time you are a child (so they can scare the bejezus out of you) that Jesus loves you so much he died for your sins. But if you don’t believe that, you will burn in Hell for all eternity. That means that many of Hitler’s henchmen might have gone to Heaven while Anne Frank is still burning in Hell.

  39. Tom Cheria says:

“Christianity teach that, if you do not believe that Jesus died for your sins, you will go to Hell?”

NO.. might not go to hell just for that reason. But if you don’t TRY to live “sinless” like JESUS there are more chances you might end up in Jail. Most of the western laws are modeled on what is sin and what is not hence trying to live sinless like JESUS has a better chance people would avoid jail on planet earth.

If you try to live sinless like JESUS there is good chance you might have a wonderful life and help in creating/refining/sustaining a successful civilization.

  40. Tom Cheria says:

I believe IDOL worship is million times better than worshiping the SATAN(allah). Idols would never ask to kill JEWS and Christians like how allah(SATAN) ordered. SATAN(allah) worship is the worst of the worst worship.

  41. When it comes to Hinduism, which is practically a “make your own religion” like make your taco night, there is very little that is official Hindu / Vedic doctrine.

  42. So far everyone defending Christianity has sidestepped my question. So, I’ll ask it again:

Doesn’t MAINSTREAM Christianity teach that, if you do not believe that Jesus died for your sins, you will go to Hell?

    Yes, or no?

  43. Tom Cheria says:

“Christian and Islamic gods regard rejection as the greatest offence”

Wrong again.. Christian God is JESUS. God(Absolute Goodness) = JESUS.

JESUS tolerated people who rejected him and that too very gracefully – he even willfully laid down his life. Well that is the character of real God.

JESUS was not narcissist hence he never asked anyone to bow to him or worship him.

SATAN tried 3 times to make JESUS bow to SATAN and failed unfortunatley SATAN was successful in making 1.5 billion people bow to SATAN 5 times a day.

P.S. Jesus did not write bible. Life of JESUS is the word of God and not bible.

  44. Tom Cheria says:

“Doesn’t Christianity also teach that if you do not accept Jesus and Lord, you will be cast into a lake of hell fire, for all eternity?”

No.. Christinaity teaches if you happen to live sinless like JESUS you would most likely have a wonderful peaceful life and help in creating a wonderful civilization.

See for example success of Western Christian Civilization where 99% reject allah(SATAN) and 90% try to live sinless like JESUS and celebrate Christmas.

Show me a civilization as successful as WCC — why are non-Christians lining up to come to Christian West and live among Christians. I am so tired of winning.

  45. Um… Doesn’t mainstream Christianity also teach that if you do not accept Jesus and Lord, you will be cast into a lake of hell fire, for all eternity?

Islamic barbarism is rooted in cruelty towards women and girls and animals in particular, as well as cruelty towards all non-believers in general.

When a fictitious Islamic “Allah” only and absolutely communicates with only one human on earth at a particular time of history, there’s a significant reason for anyone to doubt the authenticity of any such encounter between that one man with one and only fictitious “Allah”.

Islam is a man-made “religion” similar to Christianism and Judaism.

In proper analyses, Islam appears to be a military-political ideology that masquerades as a “religion” due to its well-written 1400 years old genocidal history.

However, Islam delves into the innate darkness of human psyche where man wants to control everyone around him, which inherently makes other humans of similar dark desires to be attracted to Islamic close creeds.

Islam promises eternal happiness in Islamic paradise to its followers after death on earth!

What else other men possibly need or want?

All that other men (i.e., followers of Islam) will have to do are murdering, raping, torturing and, ultimately, totally subjugating all non-believers so that faithful Muslims (i.e., mumin Mussalmans) can become the masters of all pre-Islamic humans who still want to stick to their forefathers’ faiths and customs and cultural diversities.

Arsoning non-believers’ houses, temples and archives in order to wipe out any trace of pre-Islamic civilization(s) were borrowed by medieval Muslims from early Christians’ debauchery in the European continent as early Christians did effectively wipe out all traces of Pagan heritages of Europe and whatever couldn’t be wiped out where effectively incorporated into Christianity in order to falsely claim that science, arts and commerce were brought into human achievement and human endeavors by Christianity alone throughout the world.

Christianity claimed, from day one of its creation our earth had remained the same and there’s no such thing to conserve our earthly resources since our earth was going to be destroyed any way very soon and only the faithful Christians would ascend Christian heaven while all non-believers — of Jesus the Nazarene Jew for being the only begotten “Son” of the fictitious Christian “God the Father” — as well as all animals and plants would be suffering in the eternal Christian hellfire.

A complete dark view of our existence as humans on earth as well as in the vast universe was depicted by Christianity and Islam from their very commencements.

However, for those of my readers who do not at all indulge in any kind of dark view of our existence as humans, please feel free to click on the following LINK for visualizing some beautiful photos.
