The Islamic God, One in the same as the Triune God – A Misconception
In today’s Western society many, if not most, believe that Christians and Muslims both “adore the one and merciful God.” In fact, the Declaration on the Relation of the Church to Non-Christian Religions of the Second Vatican Council Nostra Aetate declares this. It should be noted, however, that a “Declaration” is not a “Definition,” and is not necessarily to be adhered by Catholics. While the former may contain or explain certain aspects of the Catholic faith, it is not a clarification, as in the case of the latter, of what has been revealed in Scripture as an article of faith to be observed by Christ’s faithful. Nostra Aetate is to be read as a pastoral document relative to the socio-historical circumstances of the time, and not as a doctrinal definition — any theological, moral or biblical aspects must be understood in light of what has been infallibly declared by previous Church Councils.
One cannot contest Muslims’ frank and systematic belief in a monotheistic supreme being, however, that does not mean that the concept of their concept of God, i.e., Allah (Arabic term of God) is the same as the Triune God. Catholic interreligious efforts have sought to reach out to the Muslim world by classifying the Islamic deity with the Christian one, paralleling them both to the Judaic Abrahamic religion. Not only does the shahada, i.e., the Muslim profession of faith: “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his Prophet” — say otherwise, Muslims take great offense and see Christians, Catholics in particular, as ignorant and vulgar for suggesting it. They uphold a literal and strict unity of God (tawhid). In other words, they outright refute the Christian profession on the fullness of who God is: the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit):
They [Christians] have certainly blasphemed who say, “Allah [God] is the Messiah, the son of Mary”, while the Messiah has said, “O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord”: for there is no God except one God Allah. They have certainly blasphemed who say, ‘Allah is the third of three’.” (Sura 5, 72)
For the Muslim, God is exclusively transcendent and cannot interact with his creation as He did, according to Christian doctrine, when He became incarnate and lived among us in the Person of Jesus, to say nothing of His redemptive act on the Cross:
And because of their saying: “We slew the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger.” They slew him not nor crucified, but it appeared so unto them. (Sura 4, 157)
The Merciful God of Islam is a god who has mercy for whom he wants and not on those who displease him: “Allah might bring mercy whom He will[ed].” (Sura 48, 25) Notwithstanding “The Loving One” (al-Wadud) being among the list of Ninety-nine attributes of Allah, it does not arrive, however, at saying that “God is love.” (1 John 4, 16) This “love” is not only expressed as a conditional affection, but it is extended only to his believing servants for his love to His slaves is His Will to be merciful to them and praise them. “[W]hoever of you should revert from his religion — Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers.” (Sura 5, 54) Islamic scholars, such as the jurist Muhammad Ibn Hasan al-Tusi (996 – 1057) and the theologian Umar al-Zamakshari (1075 – 1144) both explain Allah’s love for man as a reward for his obedience. Hence, only those who submit to his will and recognize his richness, which is expressed in the observance of the sharia (Islamic law), can benefit from his benevolence.
Mercy or “love” in Islam is equated with the rich man who is obliged to stoop over the poor and offer him something. He bestows not necessarily because he is rich or because he pities the status of the destitute person. Instead, he gives solely so that the latter can acknowledge and publicly exalt his richness, as expressed in the daily Islamic prayer of the tasbih, which means to exalt as manifested in the Ninety-nine Attributes of Allah.
In Christianity, mercy and love reflect the teaching of the Incarnation of the Son of God becoming man, “one who lowers Himself to the level of the poor man in order to raise him up,” much more so if he is a sinner: “I have not come to call the just, but sinners, to repentance.” (Luke 5, 32) This love even extends to the enemy: “But I say to you, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who persecute and calumniate you.” (Matthew 5, 44) This is a concept not only alien to Muslims, but inconceivable. Unlike the rich man in Islam who displays his riches when helping the needy, in Christianity “[h]e does not show his wealth to be respected (or feared) by the poor, for he gives [h]imself in order for the poor [to] live.”
The Christian teaching of the interpersonal relation among the three divine Persons, the Holy Trinity, which serves as the basis for man’s friendship with God and his fellow man in society, shows that God acts according to reason, i.e., for our ultimate good. Muslims, instead, hold that Allah is pure will, which connotes arbitrariness; submitting to Allah’s will, which is necessary does not have to be reasonable since he is above such attributes of goodness and reason; Allah exults in exercising his will.

I am sick and tired of being sick and tired due to constant lies from Christians and Muslims.
Muslims ALSO invite non-believers to accept that, there is no other God in the entire universe except fictitious Islamic “Allah” (i.e., read Jehovah) and rape-born Muhammad the Arabian was fictitious Islamic Allah’s final prophet.
Along with Islamic invitation, non-believers are given 3 options by faithful Muslims:
(1) Accept Islam and become Muslims and practice Soon’Nah, or
(2) Pay very high and humiliating Islamic poll-tax for not becoming Muslims and, therefore, live as third-class sub-humans, or
(3) Death by beheading of all non-believer-males of arms-bearing age and mandatory sexual slavery for all non-believer-females of all ages.

The scholar as well as author, Nabeel Qureshi of the book entitled ANSWERING JIHAD who in the past was a Muslim but now a Christian had explained clearly that god of Islam is not the God of the Bible. For on page 113 in his book he informs the reader that “Islam roundly condemns worship of the Trinity [5:73], establishing in contrast its own core principle of Tawhid, the absolute oneness of God. Tawhid emphatically denies the Trinity; so much that it is safe to say the doctrine of God in Islam is antithetical to the doctrine of God in Christianity. Not just different but opposed.” Further on page 116 he elaborates that “Tawhid is antithetical to the Trinity, fundamentally incompatible and only similar superficially and semantically, Muslims and Christians do not worship the same God.” Therefore it’s fitting then to make a reiteration of the following essay on this very important subject.
There are a number of apologists for Islam, some are imams and mullahs and strangely enough, even some so called “Christian” pastors, who have made the outstanding claim that Christians and Muslim both believe in and worship the same God. So it stands to reason that it’s important to know if this claims valid and true or invalid and false. The facts are that the god of Islam or the Muslims is a single being. In great contrast the God of Christianity, of the Christians consists as the Trinity. By the Trinity it means that “Within the essence of the one True God there are Three Persons. Being God the Father. God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Not three gods in one But Three Distinct Persons in One God. Being the Tri-Personal Nature of God, Matthew 3:13-17. Second Corinthians 13:14. . The Bible teaches, the Father is God, Galatians 1:1.The Son is God, First John 5:20. The Holy Spirit is God, Acts 5:3,4. Not three gods but the one and only Triune God.
As further explained in the Christian book MAJOR BIBLE THEMES by Lewis Sperry Chafer on page 39 which informs the readers that “Many believe that the doctrine of the Trinity in implicit in the use of the word Elohim, as the name of God which is in a plural form and seems to refer to the Triune God. “ Likewise, in the Christian magazine PERHAPS TODAY November/December 2013 on page 8 it reads about Genesis 1:1. “In the beginning God [this is the plural noun Elohim, meaning ‘more than one’] created the heaven and the earth.” Furthermore, a bit of a view of the inner workings of the Trinity together may be seen in that the God the Father raised Jesus from the dead. Romans 10:9,10. Jesus raised Himself from the dead, John 2:19,20. The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, Romans 8:11.The inner-workings of the Trinity of God may also be seen in the fact that the Father sanctifies, First Thessalonians 5:23. The Son sanctifies, Ephesians 5:26. Hebrews 2:11; 9:12,14;13:12.The Holy Spirit sanctifies ,Romans 15:16. Second Thessalonians 2:13. Getting back to the Bible book of Genesis. In Genesis 1:26 in reads “The God said let US make man in Our image , according to our likeness…” The words are the plural “Us” and “Our.” As in “We the Trinity” For the very next verse, 27, it further reads “So God created man in His own image…” In verse 26 it’s the plural “Us” and “Our” to the singular “His” That is Three Persons in One God. In addition, in the New Testament in Matthew 28:19 It further reads the Jesus said “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the the Son and the Holy Spirit.” [N.K.J.V] That is “name” not “names.” In conclusion the many apologists and propagandists for Islam for Islam who make the claim that Christians and Muslims believe in and worship the same God are make an untrue and outright false claim. For the God of Christianity, Christians and the Bible is not the god of Islam Muslims and the Koran.

Muhammad the Arabian very clearly stated that, “Allah” (i.e., read “Jehovah”) had NO son.
So, NO faithful Muslim either believe or accept that, “Allah” needed a “Son” to guide the humanity 2000 years ago!
Christian “Trinity” was a made up fiction, which was just like making fictitious Hebrew God “Jehovah” into “God the Father”.
But, my readers will notice that, there was (is) no “Goddess” in Jewish Hebrew scriptures; so, early Christians (i.e., read “Bold-Faced Liars”) invented fictional “Virgin Mary” out of Jewish “Miriam” — who was a semi-prostitute.
‘Matthew’s citation from Isaiah can be dismissed straight away as a clumsy attempt at cover up.
As a Jew conversant with the Hebrew Bible, Matthew must have known that the word “almah” used by Isaiah DID NOT mean “virgin”, but “young woman”, and that the correct Hebrew word for “virgin” was “betulah” which Isaiah had used five times, BUT NOT in this context.
Matthew chose to cite from the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Bible, because there the word “almah” had been wrongly translated as “parthenos”, the Greek word for “virgin”.
New translations of the Bible have corrected the mistake!
It is only the Christian Catholic Church which continues to stick not only to the dogma of the virgin-birth of Jesus, but also to the myth of Mary’s permanent virginity, and refuses to face the fact that Matthew, who floated the myth, himself mentions Mary as having conjugal relations with Joseph only a few lines later.
Elsewhere in the Christian Gospels we find Mary being mentioned as the mother of several children besides Jesus.
The Christian Catholic Church, however, has extended the dogma of Mary’s virginity to her and her female ancestors’ Immaculate Conception ad infinitium.
This ridiculous exercise provoked Anatole France (i.e., Nobel laureate François-Anatole Thibault who rejected Christian faith and Christian falsehoods) to write a story in which a prostitute in Paris, France, kneels before a statue of Virgin Mary and prays,
“Holy Mother! You conceived without sinning. Let me sin without conceiving.”
It is also significant that all the four female ancestors of Mary mentioned by Matthew in his genealogy of Jesus happen to be fallen women!

Rahab was the madam of a brothel;
Ruth, the most moral, indulged in some pretty shameless sexual exploitation; and
Bathsheba committed adultery with Jewish King David.
Was the author of the Matthew genealogy implying something about the only other woman mentioned, Mary herself?”
The real reason for floating the myth of virgin-birth seems to be that “there had always been a question mark hanging over Mary’s sexual morality” and that “it was clearly a subject which caused the early Christians (i.e., primitive Christians) acute embarrassment”.
In fact, there has been a long-standing tradition among the Jews that Jesus was the fruit of an adulterous union between Mary and a Roman soldier named Tiberius Julius Abdes Panthera.
The story had also spread to the Pagans in the ancient world.
Origen of Alexandria found the Roman philosopher Celsus referring to it in Celsus’s anti-Christian polemics around AD 178.
World’s Christians have tended to dismiss the story as a malicious piece of invention, suggesting that Tiberius Julius Abdes Panthera may have been a corruption of Greek word ‘parthenos’ meaning virgin.
“Intriguingly, world’s Christians’ interpretation fell a little flat with the discovery at Bingerbrück in Germany of the tombstone of one Tiberius Julius Abdes Panthera, a Roman archer from Sidon in Phoenicia.
Although it would be fanciful seriously to suggest that Tiberius Julius Abdes Panthera was Jesus’s real father, the tombstone does happen to date from the appropriate early Roman imperial period.”
This “unfortunate circumstance” of Jesus’s birth may explain Jesus’s hostility to his biological mother and lack of enthusiasm for his step-brothers!
In John (2.3-4) we find him giving short shrift to his mother at the marriage in Cana.
In Luke (11.27-28) there is more than a hint that Jesus DID NOT consider his biological mother Mary among those “who hear the word of ‘God the Father’ and keep it”.
In Matthew (12.46-50), Mark (3.31-35), and Luke (8.19-21) Jesus shows NO warmth for his biological mother Mary and his step-brothers — who supposedly come all the way from Nazareth to Capernaum to pay Jesus a visit.’
I thank you for your comment. If I may respectfully make the disctinction, in the gospels Jesus says Father, Son, and Holy Spirit = Trinity. Jesus is divine as per the prologue of the Gospe of John, “In the beginning was theWord, and the Word was God…and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” Also, understanding that Muslims too believe that Jesus is the Messiah, we do not see Him as being purified from sin, since He is divine; He is also our Savior.

Just as the word Tawhid (oneness of Allah) is not found in the Koran, the word Trinity is not found in the Bible. Both these words are derived from the components of the respective scriptures
Among all other religions only the Muslims come closer to understand the Christian doctrine of Trinity, which is nothing but GOD, His word Jesus, His spirit is Holy Spirit. Just as man is created in the image of God; he too in the form of Trinity BODY, MIND, and SOUL
Koran recognizes all three: One God, The word of God and the Holy Spirit in the Koran.
“We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our Ilah (God) and your Ilah (God) is One (i.e. Allah), and to Him we have submitted (as Muslims).” (K 29:46)
The Messiah ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah and HIS WORD (K 4:171)
