Defining the Enemy

Tom McLaughlin

How are we going to win this war unless we can identify our enemies? Some of us have been referring to them as Islamofascists or Radical Muslims and both labels fit, but imperfectly. As I learn more about them I become more confused, and it’s not supposed to be that way. The situation should become clearer after gaining more knowledge. In two columns – last year and again last month– I described a conversation I had with a former advisor to our Joint Chiefs of Staff. He told me that our top military and political leaders were being advised by agents of the very people we’re fighting against. He came out of the closet at CPAC in Washington a couple of weeks ago and I was in the audience.

His name is Stephen Coughlin, and he gave an overview of the thesis he delivered to the Joint Chiefs that got him fired. To sum up, he laid out a convincing case that radical Muslims, or “Islamists,” are following the dictates of the Koran more closely than our moderate Muslim allies do. Al Qaeda means “the foundation, the base,” for a reason. He said the older, more peaceful verses in the KOran were abrogated by the later, more aggressive verses our enemies follow. Our moderate Muslim allies are akin to what some in the Catholic Church call “cafeteria Catholics.” That is, Catholics who pick what aspects of the religion they like and reject the rest. Many Catholics support abortion and homosexual “marriage,” though the Church explicitly rejects both. Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and John Kerry, for example, are prominent pro-choice Catholics, but Catholic leaders are starting to get tough. Recently, a Rhode Island bishop refused the Eucharist to Congressman Patrick Kennedy because of his public endorsement of abortion. According to Coughlin, Muslims who follow the Koran and Islamic Law (Sharia) closely are the ones with whom we’re at war. Our moderate allies are, if you will, “cafeteria Muslims,” and more of them have been killed by the radicals than have Christians and Jews.

This is very troubling, because it negates what Presidents Bush and Obama claim: that “Islam is a religion of peace.” While most Muslims are peaceful, thank God, the fundamentalists are gaining. They’re perceived as “the strong horse” by an increasing percentage of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims, especially the expatriates and their offspring living in the UK, France, Holland, Sweden and other European countries. They’re in the United States too, as we learned last November when native-born jihadist Maj. Nidal Hassan killed thirteen “infidel” soldiers at Fort Hood and wounded dozens of others.

Holland, the most liberal country in Europe, is wrestling very publicly with exactly this issue: Who or what is our enemy? Is it a religion? A set of teachings? A book? Writing in the Wall Street Journal, novelist Leon De Winter says:

What started as a trial against Geert Wilders for alleged Islamophobia has nearly turned into its opposite: a historical case about the message of the Quran. The Amsterdam court trying the controversial Dutch politician is now preoccupied with the question of whether this book, sacred to more than a billion believers, can be compared to one of the most vile publications in the history of Western civilization – Hitler’s “Mein Kampf.”

Wilders, a member of the Dutch Parliament and leader of the Freedom Party, insists that the Koran is political as well as religious because it encourages its followers to subjugate or kill Jews, Christians and anyone else who doesn’t believe in Islam. The Dutch government charged Wilders with “hate speech” for pointing this out. However, as De Winters says: “On trial is not so much Geert Wilders, but the Holy Book of Islam.” Holland’s hate crime laws, then, are in direct conflict with freedom of speech, and with truth itself because Wilders quoted both books quite accurately. The country’s ruling multiculturalists will lose if they convict Wilders, and they will lose if they exonerate him. They’re wishing now that they never brought him to trial at all because whatever they do, they cannot refute Wilders’ claim that Holland is being forced by multiculturalists to tolerate the intolerable.

Wilders’ positions resonate in European cities with sizable Muslim populations in which homosexuals, women and Jews are afraid to walk in Muslim neighborhoods for fear of being beaten or raped. By trying to silence Wilders, the hollow rhetoric of the tolerant, multicultural, diversity-celebrating, ruling elite of the European Union is being exposed. No matter which way the Wilders trial is decided, the world will be forced to acknowledge that fundamentalist Islam, or “Islamism” is incompatible with the democratic ideals of Western civilization.

This is exactly what European and American leaders are afraid to admit. As Stephen Coughlin put it: “You cannot defeat an enemy you are not allowed to define.” Contributing Editor Tom McLaughlin Tom is a history teacher and a regular weekly columnist for newspapers in Maine and New Hampshire. A short, to the point article and one that pins down exactly what the "problem with Islam" is: not "extremists" or those that somehow "pervert" Islam or its teachings, but Islam itself and those that follow those teachings. The "careteria moslems" is exactly what peaceful moslems are.

Geert Wilders is now in London … welcome Geert..! …on invitation from some MP's and has brought his film "Fitna" to show to the members of parliament here.. or atleast ones that will listen. As usual the moronic left wing and liberals bleating hearts are protesting without even doing any research on his film which has a strong message for non-muslims that "Islam is pure evil and more so the converts who follow this murderous political idealogy are wreaking havoc in every country these animals reside in" Open your eyes and see the murderous activities of these "72 Virgins In Paradise" followers who are killing non muslims in Thailand ( Nala Province),India,Pakistan,UK,France,Holland,Belgium,Indonesia ( especially beautiful and Hindu Bali ),Malaysia,Norway,Sweden,Kuala Lumpur….these animals have infested all corners of the habitable world with their non-integration,murder,halal butchery, mosques and minerets, and sheer bloody mindedness. Islam.. the virus of the 21st Century and all muslim converts are infected… and they are coming to country near you.

Unfortunately the shameless mainstream media of India i.e 'NDTV', 'CNN-IBN' & 'TIMES NOW', are hell-bent on propogating the religion of peace in all possible ways, with bombarding news & documentaries of how much the minority muslims are suffering in the secular Indian state….Look at their programs. 'Shahrukh Khan' has been elevated to the position of a rescuer or 'Maseeha', of Indian ethics & values of multi-culturalism, but in actual Mr. Khan is only interested in marketing his films through unnecessary controversies. All did was 'Not picking any pakistani player' for his 'IPL team'. All he said was 'Pakistani players could have been included by other franchisees. This created a minor controversy between 'Mumbai' local party 'Shivsena' & the actor, for which these so called mainstream media blew out of proportion & constantly bombarding viewers on 'Shah Rukh Khan's greatness. They made sure that 'Sr khan's movie is getting adequate footage & all the 'tv watchers' should obey the media's 'Fatwa' & watch the movie compulsary.Meanwhile, much more important issues like price rise, food shortage & 'Naxal menace' were completely kept out of public memory for several weeks.'NDTV' went on to issue ' The Indian of the year', for his bold statement 'My Name is Khan & Iam not a terrorist'. In India we have a proverb. 'Somebody shouted 'Pumpkin thief' loudly' in the market place. One guy just touched himself his shoulder, clarifying the people that he is not the one'…. There is this guilt consciousness for muslims, because they are not sure whether they are 'normal sane persons' or 'terrorists'. 'MNIK' is just a reflection of this thought of muslims.'BJP leader 'L.K.Advani' rightly said to 'Mr. Shahrukh Khan', that 'freedom' is the crux of a liberal society like India. I hope 'Mr. Shahrukh Khan' will come to know one day that 'Mr. Advani' was actually referring to 'Faith freedom'…..

Debating a Moslem
It is not easy to debate a Moslem simply because the Quran is full of contradiction which allows the Moslem debater to be selective in presenting those verses that cater to his views. There are few verses that allude to tolerance and a lot more that calls for violence against the non-Moslems. Therefore moderation or extremism depends on which verses a Moslem select from the Quran and of course he would select those verses that shows tolerance which might improve the image of Islam in the western eyes. When faced with the question about the existence of the other verses that calls for violence, the Moslem debater would be quick to claim that such verses are not applicable anymore as they were used in the past when Moslems were defending themselves. In other words the Moslem debater would like the listener to look at these verses of violence from a historical perspective and thus freeze them in a historical framework claiming that they are not applicable anymore. If so why Moslem authorities in the world today like the Islamic International Conference or Al-Azhar do not declare to the whole world that all verses that call for violence are hereby abrogated? The Moslem debater will have no choice but to admit that Moslems cannot do that because Allah, has declared to all Moslems that all verses will remain preserved until the end of times. No one has the right to abrogate, alter or change in any way any of these verses as it is emphasized in Al-Hijr (15:9)!
Actually most Islamic scholars believe that there are many verses in the Quran have been abrogated at the time of the prophet. The guideline used in abrogation is that the most recent verses abrogate the earliest ones. With this in mind, most verses for violence came long after the few verses that call for tolerance, therefore only the verses for violence are applicable until now. This should explain Islamic violence against non-Moslems in these days as the perpetrators are guided by those verses that call for violence. Bin Laden, Dawahri and Zarqawi the late leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq declared the previous fact time after time. Therefore to face Moslem debaters is to ask them to declare publicly what they claim publicly about tolerance and abrogate the verses that call for violence which is something they will never do! This means their advocacy for tolerance is nothing but cheap propaganda.

Reading this post reminded me of the article of this link.Though it does talk about the same blindness to Islamic/ jihadi mentality that is being ignored by the Mainstream media of India. In fact ,no editor except the sify editor has even acknowledged this aspect of Hussain's drawings from a righteous perspective, &nbsp ;–kdfp6fgaaig.html .

Every one is born a moslem and it's the parents who convert the child in to christians jews etc, that is the problem. The islamic evil is cruel and completely ignorant. So the only way forward is decimation of islamic evil.If many moderate moslem scum bags get vapourised in the process, so be it. Its better them than us the kafirs.Kafirs have been sacrificed at the foot of allah the pimp and rapist pedophile mohammad for too long.

  33. proudest_kafir

the war unless you know what or whom you are fighting and what methods to employ. Its meaningless to fight islam when all the time we are peddling the biggest lie that islam means peace!. You can not fight and kill moslem scum bags if you do not identify the scum bags from nominal moslems..One must first recognise openly or in private that it's the evil of islam we are at war with. Otherwise I see no redumption and i might as well say the shahada about the rapist and pimp allah

First, I salute Geert Wilders for his courage, his determination in the fight against Islam and his patriotism for his country and sympathy to the world. Islam may have started as a religion, but it became a way of life. It is spreading like cancer using all kind of deception tactics. The islamists'most powerful tactic is terror (fear). As lomg as we show fear, they will continue and get renovative in their methods of terror. It is up to us. Most Muslims are victims to Islam. We must approach them explaining the truth about Islam, its extreme hate, violence and wickidness.Of course, the mainstream media would be a strong tool to achieve that, but we know that the journailsts are either cowards or ignorant. I consider them traitors. I was born and raised in Egypt. The Copts are suffering from the disease of Islam for over 1400 years. The genocide is accelerating. The Muslim criminals are killing Copts burning their homes and businesses, kidnapping and raping their young girls and force them in Islam, almost in daily basis with the blessings of the Egyptian authorities shouting ALLAH AKBAR! Americans: please wake up before it is too late. There is no such thing as moderate or peaceful Islam. The Koran is a loud proof to what I am saying.

Infidels?Islam considers any non-Muslim an infidel (non-believer).“Fight those who believe not in Allah, nor the last day…Nor acknowledge the religion of truth, (even if they are) of the people of the Book, until they pay Jizia (taxes) with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued”. Surah 9:29“O Isa (Jesus) son of Maryam! Did you say unto men: ‘Worship me, and my mother as two gods beside Allah?” Surah 5:116Also, “O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors.” Surah 5:51Many other surahs, which instruct every Muslim to fight (kill) the infidels (non-Muslims), because they (infidels) do not deserve to live.Mohammad decided, ignorantly and falsely, that Christians worship 3 gods.Ironically, the Koran admits that Jesus Christ is the Word of God, like the Christians do:“When the angels said: “O Maryam ( Mary)! Verily, Allah gives you the glad findings of the Word (“Be!”-and he was! i.e. Isa (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary) from Him, his name will be the Messiah ‘Isa (Jesus), the son of Maryam, held in honor of this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allah.” Surah 3:45And if you continue reading surahs 3:46-50 one can realize that Mohammad could not escape the truth that Jesus was God.Now let us see what Muslims believe in.They keep repeating the following:“Allah akbar”. That means in Arabic Allah is greater. This is an incomplete sentence. The Islamists translate that “Allah is great”.Here is a small lesson in Arabic language:Kebeer (in Arabic) means great.Al-akbar means the greatest.Akbar means greater. The question is greater than who or what? Also, every time they mention Mohammad they say “sallah Allah alieh wa sallam”.That means Allah PRAYS on him and peace with him.If Allah is God, to whom Allah is praying? Is there another god? This is due to the fact that the Arab pagans worshipped 360 gods with allah is the most common, and Mohammad was raised in the religion of the moon god al-e-lah. This Al-e-lah was the moon god according to the archeological evidence. That is why they have the crescent moon on their flags and on top of their mosques, till this day. Also, their shehada (creed) says:Ashhad an la illah illa Allah and Mohammad rasoul Allah.”Which means, ‘I believe in one god and Mohammad is his messenger. Now, if one says the first portion only, he would not be considered a Muslim. One MUST say the second part of the sentence in order to become a Muslim. That means Mohammad is as important as Allah if not more important!!CHRISTIANS BELIEVE IN ONE GOD AND ONE GOD ONLY, regardless of what Mohammad said.Muslims consider Christians infidels because Mohammad revealed ignorantly a false statement, that Christians worship 3 gods, the Father, Mary and Jesus. Well, what one expects from an illiterate Arab who lived in the desert attacking commercial caravans and living on the booties, to understand the Holy Trinity?!And then he instructed the Muslims to kill ALL infidels!!!! Ironically, the Koran (Mohammad and his allah) admits the immaculate conception of Jesus (19:16-41), He as Messiah (3:45;4:171;5:75), performed miracles including creation (2:87;5:10;110,112-14;43:65).In addition, “We gave Jesus the son of Mary clear (signs) and strengthened him with the HOLY SPIRIT. (2:87).The contradictions in the Koran, is well known now.If Mohammad continued in this direction he would be a Christian. To alleviate that and save him from a deadly embarrassment, Allah sent surah 4:157, “-but they killed him not, nor crucified him…” Stranger still, “..but the resemblance of Isa (Jesus)was put over another man..”
