Italy: Mohammed called a 'paedophile' in TV spat

Milan, 9 Nov. (AKI) - Italian feminist and
former far right-wing MP Daniela Santanche has sparked a controversy after
calling the Prophet Mohammed a "a polygamist and paedophile" during a
TV debate. Santanche appeared on a television programme aired on the commercial
channel, Canale 5 with the president of Milan's Islamic centre, Ali Abu
Schwaima, on Sunday.
"Mohammed was a polygamist and a paedophile because he had nine wives, one
of whom was only nine years old, that is a historical fact," said
Santanche.
A former MP for the post-fascist National Alliance party, Santanche now leads
the far-right La Destra party.
Her remark incensed Schwaima and Muslims in the audience, who had been invited
to take part in a debate on the contentious issue of placing crucifixes in
Italian classrooms after last week's ban by the European Court of Human Rights.
"Why don't we talk about serious things, not about your disgusting
comments," he shouted at Santanche.
Santanche continued to shout back: "For us, Mohammed was a
paedophile."
"You're just showing the ignorance of people like you who have no other
arguments to use," bellowed Schwaima, jabbing his finger at her.
He claimed the crucifix should not be removed from classrooms in Italy.
"For us, Christ was one of the five main prophets and we respect him, like
the crucifix."
But Santanche was not appeased by Schwaima's remark.
"We will never listen to Mohammed, who was a polygamist and a
paedophile," screeched Santanche.
Studio ushers were seen physically restraining an irate, bearded member of the
audience from lunging at her.
"I and my staff dissociate ourselves from these comments, which are
offensive to Islam," Domenica Cinque's presenter, Barbara D'Urso, said in
a statement issued after the programme.
A former MP for the post-fascist National Alliance party, Santanche ran for the
lower house of parliament on the far-right La Destra list in last year's
general election.
But the party failed to reach the 4 percent threshold required for election to
the parliament.
Santanche was last year among rightwing protesters who opposed the conversion
of a former velodrome into a mosque in Milan.
She opposes Muslim women wearing the veil in Italy and has called for a
referendum to reopen the country's brothels.
Aisha was believed to be nine-years-old at the time of her marriage to
Mohammed.

Maybe I went overboard calling this lady names. But this kind of bias and stupidity I cannot stand. The very concept is feminism i find abhorable. Why do we even need such a divisive organisation to protect and uphold the rights and freedom of a particular sex over another. This is insanity. There is the Great Ape Project whose aims are to give equal ethical consideration to the great apes given their highly evolved senses, social structure and capacity to feel pain and experience distress and happiness. I can understand why someone would want to set up a foundation like that and lobby for their cause. But these feminists are a lost cause, living their delusional eutopic world of female dominance.
As you know well, I have been associated with FFI on and off for many years. I do not understand why my views have to be so convolutedly twisted to not give them the meaning and intend I originally had.
Yes, I do believe that the white race is superior. This is not racism. This is called Race Realism. I embrace REALITY just as much as you embrace TRUTH. That's my way of dealing with things. I am not ashamed to say that I happen to not belong to a superior race. But to say that this has resulted in my losing self worth is ludicrous. Did you seriously think that I considered every individual belonging to a certain race to be equally smart, or equally stupid. In Race Realism, we talk about the general population. You can compare it to per capita of nations. On an individual level there can be gross variations. I have no reservations in admitting the fact that countries like India and Iran and the African countries have produced some of the finest and sharpest minds. Why, I have even seen some really smart Arabs! The point I am driving home is that no one has to feel worthless and lose self confidence in themselves if they happen to have the misfortune of being born into the "wrong" race. I certainly do not consider myslef stupid. I see myself as the exception, rather than the norm.
The second point I want to make while I am at this race issue is that Race Reality, or the superior intellectual status of certain groups in no way give them any sort of licence to mistreat or exploit anyone else. The rights, liberty and freedom of every individual must be protected. This is in line with how we would conduct ourselves generally and what has come to become what we call "socially acceptable" behaviour, when we humans go against willful selfish behaviour as evolution would have behave. It is a conscious and deliberate effort, but isnt it good enough that we recognise the facts for what tey are and they everyone decides how to handle the situation and deal with it in the best possible manner, causing no harm to any individual or group?
Regarding my views on women, I never said women should be banned from driving cars or that they should be forcibly removed from the male dominated workforce. I was giving my personal opinion that women have a place and it is better to have a gender role we can stick to. Although women may have equal rights and work opportunities as a matter of principle, I would like society to discourage women taking male dominated/orientated jobs making it socially unacceptable for them to do so. For practically the simple reason that there are real and measurable differences between the two sexes and they do not perform equally well at the same type of job. There is also the issue of women looking awkward and out of place in positions traditionally held by men.

I do not approve what this lady did, but this a reality Muslims have to come to terms with in the western world, if you want to be a part of this society. Other denominations have come through this environment, why Islam is so special and should be treated differently. Schwaima's remark on believing in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is completely a lie. Muslims never believe in the crucifixion. This is just a strategy to earn sympathy from Christians. He appears to be a great supporter of Christian belief, but he is not. If the plan to remove cross from classroom is dropped, the Muslim community will come up with further demand to practice their customs and traditions. When they constructed the mosque in Rome, they asked permission to build a cultural centre, which to many people surprise turned out to be the great mosque of Rome. Would they allow Christian workers in Saudi Arabia to have place of worshipping? Forget about Mecca and Madinah, but think about Jeddah. Why not? If you do not respect their right there, never say again Islam is the religion of peace and tollerance. It is time for Italian to stand up. If you give Muslims a lift, they would'n be satisfied jut to be the passengers. They want to be the drivers.

I have watched the devolution of Sundried Atheist through during these years with sadness. His thinking is becoming more convoluted as time passes. He claims to be an atheist while at the same time he is a misogynist and a racist. Now the funny thing is that he thinks that the white race is the superior race while he is Indian himself. You can imagine the level of low self esteem that he must have as the result.

Ali, regarding my take on religion and how we need to take them down with force, you need to read The End of Faith by Sam Harris. You will then hopefully come to the same conclusion. These people are delusional to the point that they have completely severed connection with reality. These religious people live embrace a worldview that is twisted and insensible. If that were not enough, most if not all of these people are dangerous and pose a threat to a normal and decent way of living by their constant and incessant interferance in politics and world matters, from preventing scientists from research work to telling school teachers what to teach in biology classrooms.
