Oil on the flames of civilizational war
"The coming millennium will go down in world history as a struggle between Orient and Occident, between the church and Islam, between the Germanic peoples and the Arabs," proclaimed Franz Rosenzweig in 1920. These ominous words appear in a collection of the German-Jewish theologian's writings about Islam, published in Berlin earlier this year. It is the most dangerous book I have read in a generation, for Rosenzweig (1886-1929) considered Islam a pagan "parody", "caricature" and "plagiarism" of Christianity and Judaism.
Allah merely is the apotheosized image of an Oriental despot, emphatically not the Judeo-Christian God of love. Rosenzweig altogether repudiates the notion of Islamic culture. As a caricature, Islam is entirely sterile: "Islam never created an Islamic art, but rather took into its service pre-Islamic art ... The pre-Islamic state, namely the Oriental state in its Byzantine form, made Islam into its state religion; the pre-Islamic spirit of the Koran adopted either pre-Islamic rationalism or mysticism and orthodoxy. In Europe, by contrast, in Christian Europe, there arose something new: Christian art, and a Christian state." _________________ The Islamic world is involved in up to 90% of the wars and terrorist attacks on the planet. If Islam is a religion of peace, how does a religion of war look like? |

Very good source SI
This is also a great article.

...In his own paranoid fashion, Mahathir has advanced the cause of mutual understanding between the Islamic world and America. Mahathir has made clear that the Jews do, indeed, rule the world, at least in the sense that he and his compatriots understand the words "to rule". And he has made clear to Americans that the filter through which the Islamic world views America is a form of paranoia that cannot quickly be cured. |

I genuinely do not wish to sound offensive, but a genunine thought:
The Arab-Muslim world seems give a lot of importance to military strength and victory in battle. Is the Arab-Muslim world "sore" because since the state of Israel was formed by the UN in 1948, multiple Arab countries have tried to destroy Israel on multiple occasions - and failed.
Also, as all this is going on, Israel has developed a country that is truely world-leading in certain areas of technology, and has only existed for about 55 years.
And Israel has a population and land area that is about 2 orders of magnitude smaller than the Arab-Muslim areas of the Middle East.
Just a thought ... |

The most important thing to arabs is revenge, honor and empty pride. The arab brotherhood that people talk about is bullshit, the only thing that unites them is hatred and oppression.

|

Here's a nice one from BBC News:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3493448.stm
The Saudi tourism department says that tourist visas would not be issued to Israeli passport holders or Jews, while non-Muslim tourists would have the honour of tourist visas for the first time.
Like people say that Elvis is alive somewhere, is the same true of Hitler. Did he emigrate to the M.E. in 1945 ?
If Jews were allowed into Saudi Arabia, would they be forced to wear the Star of David I wonder ?
Is this fascism and anti-semitism ? I don't know, but it is nasty either way ! |

I've also wondered about the obsession in that country of forcing women to go around wearing black sacks.
Regardless of any holy book, I see the work of the Creator as being creation / nature itself, and we should take our guidance from that.
In nature, for most animals the female is the "fairer sex" and will always make herself look more attractive in order to attract a mate. This is also true in humans, and is natural: It is how the Creator intended because it is how creation / nature work.
Forcing women to wear black sacks is, I believe, the most fundamental form of repression in the Middle East. Doing this does not allow the females to attract mates and so breaks with creation / nature and is, therefore, inherently un-natural.
And to people who are "offended" by a bit of exposed flesh should remember that our skin is the "clothing" that the Creator made for us. If anybody is "offended" by that, then they are offended by the Creators work. _________________ The Buddah say, "With your mind you make the World". |
