يقول ابن تيمية في الفتاوى عن رأيه في الكيمياء : (ما يصنعه بنو آدم من الذهب والفضة وغيرهما من أنواع الجواهر والطيب ، وغير ذلك مما يشبهون به ما خلقه الله من ذلك ؛ مثل ما يصنعونه من اللؤلؤ ، والياقوت والمسك ، والعنب ر، وماء الورد ، وغير ذلك : فهذا كله ليس مثل ما يخلقه الله من ذلك ؛ بل هو مشابه له من بعض الوجوه و ليس هو مساويا له في الحد والحقيقة . وذلك كله محرم في الشرع بلا نزاع بين علماء المسلمين الذين يعلمون حقيقة ذلك !! . ومن زعم أن الذهب المصنوع مثل المخلوق فقوله باطل في العقل والدين ) . ويواصل : ( وحقيقة " الكيمياء " إنما هي تشبيه المخلوق وهو باطل في العقل والله تعالى ليس كمثله شيء لا في ذاته ولا في صفاته ولا في أفعاله. و كل ما أنتجته الكيمياء من منتجات هي مضاهاة لخلق الله ، وبالتالي هي محرمة ). الفتاوى ، كتاب "الفقه" ، البيع ، باب الخيار ، مسألة : عمل الكيمياء هل تصح بالعقل أو تجوز بالشرع . الطبعة الاولى : مجلد 29 ، ص 368 .

و يقول ابن تيمية عن عالم الكيمياء جابر بن حيان : ( وأما جابر بن حيان صاحبُ المصنفات المشهورة عند الكيماوية ، فمجهولٌ ، لا يعرف ، وليسَ له ذكرٌ بين أهل العلم ، ولا بين أهل الدين ) نفس الجزء صفحة 369

translation:

(Whatever Man Makes of (unnatural) Gold, Silver , Emeralds Etc. and other things that He Makes in an attempt to Mimic Allah's original creations, All these things are Never like Allah's creations...But are just similar to them in a few things, And All these acts are Definetly FORBIDDEN And all other Imams Agree to this !! ) ...and continues : ( Actually chemistery is nothing but an attempt to simulate the creatures , and this is HARAM and Wrong, Because there is nothing like allah or like his creations, Thus, the Products of chemistery are Banned.) -Kitab al fiqh, on the issue of chemistery, Book 29, page 368

Also Ibn taymeya Says about the famouse mideaval Arab Chemics Scientist Jabir ibn Hayyan :"and as for Jabir ibn Hayyan who Is known For His chemical Productions, He is infamous, unknown, Has No Value in the field of Knowledge people Nor in the field of Religon people" . (same, page 369)
