according to an article written about a study made by Rohan Gunaratna, an investigator from Singapore in daily newspaper, Scandinavian countries serve as asylums for terrorists. The reason for this is liberal immigrant laws.

Denmark, among others has been an place to settle in for terrorist groups. "It is a fact you cannot deny". says Gunanatra.

Also the free way of life offers nice possibilities for terrorists to work freely. The groups can get easily organized and gather some funds.

The structure of AlQaida has changed since 11th September, hence, we should not only concentrate on that.

"Nowadays AlQaida is not capable of organizing big attacks in Western Europe, North America, Australia or New Zealand. That place has been taken by smaller organizations who have been funded and educated by AlQaida.

The Finnish security police doesn't however, share this view and thinks the speculations have gotten too far. They claim the Police is working in Scandinavia daily in order to prevent something like Gunanatra described, to happen.
