If anyone knows how, please contact them.

Couldn't they apply for assylum through the U.S. or Canadian Embassies? _________________ "Nothing is obtained simply by wanting. And nothing is achieved by relinquishing responsibility to a higher authority." - Enki |

Poor people. I feel for them.
This is terrible. Muslims are welcome in any country, but Christians are refused.
I have seen it happen many times.
I wish I could help them, and I hope they will be alright.

If they haven't already, maybe it would be worth them getting in contact with the Barnabas Fund.

Or they could try Italy.
Having a non-EU girlfriend I personally went through a lot of burocratic stuff to get a work paper for her, and now I have quite a decent knowledge in what italian law requires for issuing residence papers (which is relatively strict compared to other countries in Europe).
To see if they can apply, I need to know about their situation: if someone among them can exercise a free profession that would surely be useful, and if someone else is a doctor or a translator that's even better. They don't write on this forum, do they? _________________

Please keep us updated about this family. Lilylayla is in a similar situation, only she is still in SA. I just do NOT understand why muslims get asylum from Islamic countries, yet apostates don't. The west is missing a great opportunity. East Berlin fell when Germany began giving the east germans 'german' passports, and there was a mass exodus that resulted in the wall coming down and a unified germany. The last vestiges of communism simultaneously fell everywhere else. Start giving apostates UN protection and refugee status, and there would be the same sort of exodus - from SA at least Only there would have to be some way of finding out who was genuine or not, ie with lie detectors.

Thats a very good idea Rainbow, giving refuggee status to apostates. In essance allowing everyone who did not want to be islamic to not have to be islamic. At the same time undermining there governments attemps to force them to be islamic.
This idea would make a great subject for letters to congresses, parliments, and UN agencies. I will start the campain by writing a few letters of my own. |

My heart goes out to all these apostates. We should encourage them and give them all the moral support. I must however advise all those who are offering help to exercise caution. Call me paranoid, but one way for Islamists to identify persons or underground networks that exists to help apostates is to pose as an apostate to gather information. Well meaning helpers can unknowingly expose other apostates and underground networks and their modus operandi. For your own sake and the sake of other apostates and their networks, even if you are in a western country, please understand that the ummah is very well connected. And there are many Muslim communities in western societies. Please do not post any information that can enable people like MENJ (once he was removed from this forum for researching and revealing information of an apostate, information of a nature that can pose a threat to the personal safety of the apostate concerned) to identify you, other apostates and underground networks or your residence. Well known NGOs like Open Doors and Barnabas Fund are not the underground networks I am refering to. However it would be foolish to reveal their modus operandi of these NGOs if you happen to know them. Just point out the NGOs for them to contact and let the apostates personally contact the NGOs.
If you are in Malaysia for example, there are laws which make the simple act of passing any non-Islamic religious information to a Muslim, in whatsoever form, a punishable criminal offence. So exercise every caution if you are in Malaysia and want to help apostates.

The Malaysian Constitution also permits state law (or Federal law in Federal Territories) to "control and restrict the propagation of any religious doctrine" among Muslims (Article 11(4)). By the virtue of Clause (4), attempts have been made by certain State Legislative Assemblies to restrain activities of proselytising to Muslims. Several states except the Federal Territories, Sabah, Sarawak, Perlis and Pahang have adopted the Control and Restriction Bill.
For example, Section 4 of the bill states: "Persuading, influencing or inciting a Muslim to leave Islam or to embrace another religion is liable to a fine of RM10,000 or to imprisonment for one year or to both." The same punishment is applicable in Section 5 which covers those who cause "a minor Muslim (under the age of 18 years) to be instructed in or to participate in the rites of non-Islamic religion (the offence can be committed by a body or institution)."
Other sections of interests are:
• Sec 6: Approaching or contacting a Muslim for the purpose of subjecting him to any speech or display of material concerning a non-Islamic religion (approach can be by any means of communication including telephone)
o Sanction: Fine of RM5,000 or to imprisonment for 6 months or to both.
• Sec 7: Sending or delivering to a Muslim any unsolicited publication concerning a non-Islamic religion.
o Sanction: Fine of RM3,000 or to imprisonment for 3 months or to both.
o (Unrequested advertisement of publication would also be included in the above and under s.7(2), there is a deeming provision that a publication sent or delivered to or at the address of a person shall be held as delivered to that person)
• Sec 8: Distributing in a public place any publication concerning a non-Islamic religion to a Muslim.
o Sanction: Fine of RM1,000.
• Offence relating to the use of certain words and expressions of Islamic origin. The four terms that are prohibited in any Christian publications are: Allah, Baitullah, Kaabah, and Solat. |

What a LIE stuff like that proves Islam to be! It's a clear statement of "Islam can't stand up to competition; Islam looks ugly in the light of every other philosphy on earth - so don't look at those other philosophies; Islam can't stand on its own merits; Islam can't defend itself with truth or openess..." The only tools by which is Islam can defend itself are all extremely negative: terrorism, oppression, suppression, and brainwashing. Poor pathetic Islam! _________________ "Nothing is obtained simply by wanting. And nothing is achieved by relinquishing responsibility to a higher authority." - Enki
