Hi there,

Pls anyone, I'm just collecting all available sources that prove persecution against apostates (or blasphemers, liberal authors, or the so called zindiqs) in Saudi Arabia. Any type of persecution, in any language; as well as sources that spot some light about applying Islamic law there, strictly speaking laws of apostasy and punishments against heretics.

Here are some examples:

Thanx everybody

A Saudi court has sentenced a high school chemistry teacher to more than three years in prison and 750 lashes for talking to his pupils about his views on a number of current topics, such as Christianity, Judaism and the causes of terrorism.

In Qassim province, north of Riyadh, the prosecution department pressed blasphemy charges against Muhammad al-Harbi, labeling the teacher an “apostate,” after his students and fellow teachers filed legal complaints against him. The judge in the case, `Abdullah Dakhil, reportedly accused the teacher of “trying to sow doubt in a student’s creed.”

Yeezevee, WiSsam asked about persecutions against apostates (blasphemators, liberals etc) in Saudia Arabia.

So from your links, I found the link to wikiislam
http://www.wikiislam.com/wiki//Persecution_of_non-Muslims_in_Muslim_countries#Saudi_Arabia
the only one having some articles corresponding to what, i think, he was looking for.

Here are they:
  1. Saudi Christian convert arrested and jailed
    http://www.asianews.it/view.php?l=en&art=2134
  2. Christians (included converts to Christianity) claim torture by Saudis

Oh! I see., Saudi Arabia is such a cursed land.. you get very little out of that sand except .Allah sounds..Oil and Islam. No news and No water from there., Any way , Apart from sand land cases let us add all cases persecution of apostates in Islam in this thread as it is useful for reference. The gulf news at http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/saudi_arabia/10236558.html says

Saudi man kills daughter for converting to Christianity August 12, 2008, 18:34

Riyadh: A Saudi man working with the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice recently killed his daughter for converting to Christianity. According to sources close to the victim, the religious police member had cut the tongue of the girl and burned her to death following a heated debate on religion.

The death of the girl sent shockwaves and websites where the victim used to write with various nick names have allocated special space to mourn her, while some others closed temporarily in protest.

According to the Saudi Al Ukhdoud news website, the victim wrote an article on the blog of which she was a member under the nickname “Rania” a few days before her murder.

She wrote that her life became an ordeal after her family members grew suspicious about her after a religious discussion with them. ..
