Understanding the Qur'an.
To have a clear understanding of the Qur'an we must read it chronologically, since the later Medina verses did abrogate the former Meccan verses. The Qur'an is a timeless/unchangeable War Declaration from Allah upon all kafirs and infidels: Dar'ul Islam vs Dar'ul Harb (siege of war). Placards from 'The Islamic Thinkers Society' in a New York manifestation, 3 February 2006. Peace, in Islam, means the feudalization and/or destruction of Dar'ul Harb (our very homes). Make no mistake about it: this is what's going on!

Just wondering if they could do as well without our internal welfares and external subsides...

91.1(60:1) O ye who believe! Choose not My enemy and your enemy for allies. Do ye give them friendship when they disbelieve in that truth which hath come unto you, driving out the messenger and you because ye believe in Allah, your Lord ? If ye have come forth to strive in My way and seeking My good pleasure, (show them not friendship). Do ye show friendship unto them in secret, when I am Best Aware of what ye hide and what ye proclaim?
Whosoever doeth it among you, he verily hath strayed from the right way...
Don't be friends with disbelievers. They are your (and Allah's) enemy.

91.2 (60:2) If they have the upper hand of you, they will be your foes, and will stretch out their hands and their tongues toward you with evil (intent), and they long for you to disbelieve. ----91.3 (60:3) Your ties of kindred and your children will avail you naught upon the Day of Resurrection. He will part you. Allah is Seer of what ye do.

91.4 (60:4) Lo! we are guiltless of you (...). We have done with you. And there hath arisen
between us and you HOSTILITY AND HATE FOR EVER until ye believe in Allah only...

Suggestions, impressions, critics, corrections and commentaries are most welcome...[/b]

Hello yeezevee...
I based my work upon: http://www.kafirnation.com/chronological.htm
But also bits upon: http://shapps.8k.com/quran_chrono.htm

It's the only way to read it properly, I believe. It makes more sense that way than how it is presented. We almost have to built our own Qur'an, since Allah was too loosy to do the job Himself! Still I wonder what the order of revelations can mean!

What does the "19" mean?
The Clot was revealed first and eneded up as No.96, that´s clear.

Btw, you could have spaved yourself a lot of work. Mughal also made a list: (you´ll find the link in the Resource Sticky "Usefull Threads and Posts")

Craig Winn's "Prophet of Doom" was arranged in chronological order. Let me seee if I can get the contents list in the right order.

Ok. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. So we may have a problem then, with 2 missing surahs.

I for one will stop using the traditional numbering (except in brackets) to mention the chronological order and make a point rectifying Mohammedans whenever they use the traditional way.

First impressions: I already knew that the Medina verses were inviting slaughtering so its not what surprise me. But I also see that many Medina verses deals with women (96 as 4; 99 as 65; 105 as 58-). Also in Romans (84 as 30), it is said they are vanquished while they were obviously not. The Yamuk battle (Jordan, 638) came years after the alleged death of Muhammad. They might have been defeated then (mainly because whole tribes of deserting mercenaries joined the then Saracens) but the Empire stood still many more centuries.

NOTE: I've edited the first post and eliminated the 'Revelation' numbering until I know better what they could mean. It would then be easy to add them in brackets at the end of every line. As it is now, the shema is much more enjoyable, so I think.

Understanding the Islamic notion of Jihad.
Since this is the first entrance for most newcomers at FFI forum, both Kafirs (Infidels) and Mohammedans alike, I wish to add some complementary (but crucial) reflections upon the notion of JIHAD, which Islamic apologists state as an inner struggle first, and then but only a defensive act when its outer struggle is carried out. A close analysis of both the Qur'an and Islamic tradition of war dismiss totally these apologists' interpretations.

Quoting first a 712AD letter sent by the then governor of Iraq, al-Hajjaj ibn Yussuf al-Thakali (660-714) to his general Muhammad Qusim (or Qasim):
Quote:
It appears from your letter that all the rules made by you for the comfort and convenience of your men are strictly in accordance with religious law. But the way of granting pardon prescribed by the law is different from the one adopted by you, for you go on giving pardon to everybody, high or low, without any discretion between a friend and a foe. The great God says in the Quran (47.4): ‘’O true believers, when you encounter the unbelievers, strike off their heads.’’ The above command of the great God is a great command and must be respected and followed. You should not be so found of showing mercy, as to nullify the virtue of the act. Henceforth grant pardon to no one of the enemy and spare none of them.

A throughout study of the notion of Jihad has been made by Suhas Majumdar in his:
''Jihad: The Islamic Doctrine of Permament War'':
http://voiceofdharma.org/books/jihad/

Excerpted from its conclusion (emphasis mine):
Quote:
The first reflection is on the failure of the world at large to take note of this creed of hate and violence, and get forewarned as to the peril it entails to the civilisation of all non-Muslim peoples including those who profess Christianity. The decline of the West, of which Spengler wrote, is nowhere so evident as in its total indifference to the Islamic doctrine of jihãd, and in the absolute neglect of its duty to confront such a creed intellectually while broadcasting over the whole world its pernicious implications.

Thanks to the money-power of the oil-rich Arab countries, Islam has spread its tentacles to the farthest point of the globe, and is making known its intention of world-domination in no uncertain terms. The intellect of the West looks at the spectacle, benumbed and fascinated, sometimes breaking into loud acclamations as to the glory that is Islam, and sometimes mumbling incoherent protests against its ‘fundamentalism’.

As Nirad Chaudhury has pointed out, this division of Islam into two variants - the one Fundamentalist and the other Liberal - is the result of “either ignorance or repulsive hypocrisy”. Whatever else may get liberalised, jihad cannot; and the West’s failure to understand the true nature of the current Islamic Revival must be recognised as the most colossal intellectual failure of the present epoch. (...)

The Western world’s intellectual decline is nowhere so manifest as in this context. India’s Secularism is on its own admission merely a pale imitation of its Western original which itself has nowhere taken note of the Islamic doctrine of jihãd. Consequently, the riot-prone behaviour pattern of the immigrant Muslim population in Western countries has left them helpless and guessing. The Western media call it ‘ethnic unrest’ - a stupid description betraying abysmal ignorance about the nature of Islam.

Some parts of his book may be given here for its most important parts:

Who needs a Phd in repeating and conforming? If so, computers are all universities graduates... The best of all your Islamic saints and the most performing of all possible Imams issuing fatwas!

I simply made a google research: (quran+chronology) as part of my work for 'Quoting Abul Kasem, Part III', when dealing with the abrogations found in the qur'an. Considering the importance of this, I thought it deserved a thread of its own.

It's cristal clear from Muhammad's life brought to us, through the Sira and thousands of hadiths, that the revelations brought to him are not given in a logical, chronological, sequence. It's not too hard then to reconstruct the factual order from the historical follow up of their coming up. Bits can still change, but as a whole, this chronological sequence makes detailed sense. A further step for scholars would be to analyse and reconstruct differently the chapters themselves, because many of them have parts belonging to quite different periods of time.

If your own Islamic scholars didn't do the job, let alone Allah, apart from this 'Masjid Tucson' (Rashad Khalifa, said yeezevee, killed by a jihadist), blame it on the Islamic fatalism, bewitching a book (dealing with historical matters), into a stagnant, idolatrous strawstuffed curse delivered first upon Mohammedans themselves and then upon the rest of us, kafirs.

If Allah condemned you to utter stagnancy, to be quranic parrots of some Imam ventriloquist, we are not being restrained by your leash of fears. The very fact that the Quran needs such major adjustment is but one more proof of its human origin. Dig it...

Hi Cat,

Thanks for taking the time to compile and share this list, it will definately help those trying to understand the Koran and the so called revelations of Muhammad and even those who are researching the pyschology of Muhammad.

However, try to bear in mind that as much of Islamic thought and law is based on the "original, unaltered" version of the Koran and reading it as it is published can provide an excellent insight to the workings of the Islamic mind (as nonsensical as that may be ).
