http://www.faithfreedom.org/debates/Ghamidi60904.htm
So what is happening to the debate? it seems, it is stuck at No. 7., that is alll right, Ghamidi now is a big player, so it may be difficult to find the anwers to very tough questions that springs up from Ali Sina on Islam and Muhammad. So let us read something that is going on with Ghamadi.

Resignation from Council of Islamic Ideology by Javed Ahmed Ghamidi:
Javed Ahmed Ghamidi resigned in September 2006 from the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), , a constitutional body responsible for providing legal advice on Islamic issues to the Pakistani government. His resignation was rejected by the President of Pakistan. Ghamidi's resignation was prompted by the Pakistani government's formation of a separate committee of ulema to review a Bill involving women's rights; .......... |
So clearly Javed Ahmed Ghamidi is trying his best to change the basic value system of Islam in Pakisthan.. and I wish him all the success. So recently, he opened a new publishing house. I am sure he has plenty of financial support . His Dar ut Tazkeer is a publishing house has the following objectives to cultivate awareness amongst the Muslims of the world about the fact

That Muslim civilization is passing through a period of serious decline that no divine condemnation or earthly intrigue has caused it. Contrary to the common perception, it is a natural phenomenon of rise and fall of nations, driven by a set of social, economic and political factors.
In order to get out of this mess, we need to get rid of our false notions of superiority complex and idealistic romanticism.
to emancipate ourselves from the self-destructive idea of waging war against the more developed nations of the world.
to borrow their learning in the field of technology and science.
to carry the message of God to the rest of the world as it is the collective responsibility of the Muslims. In order to do that, we must give up the policy of confrontation and pursue a plan of invitation to Islam. We must prepare a legion of scholars, who meet the highest standards of erudition and are well versed in the art of logic and reason.
In order to liberate ourselves from the abyss of ignorance and deprivation, we need a long and patient planning to inculcate in ourselves a sense of commitment to our religion. |
For execution of the above mentioned agenda, Dar ut Tazkeer is publishing a monthly magazine "Tazkeer". Dar ut Tazkeer also publishes and promotes the writings of Maualna Hameed ud Din, Maualna Amin Ahsan Islahi, Javaid Ahmed Ghamidi and Maulana Waheed ud Din khan. |
So that is what he is doing in the last two monts. Again I wish him all the best and success. But I am worried, by doing such things he may be going against BASIC TENENTS OF Muhammad's Islam..

Khalid did send in mail saying his reply is delayed but it is coming. So I imagine we will have to wait for a few weeks yet. _________________ Ali Sina: "The truth is out there for those who want to see it. It is beyond doubt."

I wish Muslims would stop wanting to "carry the message of Allah to the rest of the world". It is not a nice message and we don't want a bar of it. Leave it where it belongs - in the Muslim world. We kafirs are technologically strong and democratic, relatively free, wealthier, healthier and far happier than Muslims because of the way we are. We've seen what Islam does to you and we don't want that to befall us.
So stop trying to 'carry the message of Allah to us'. If it works for you then fine but trying to convert us is not only futile but will cause untold conflict and suffering.
I like the way I am, I love my culture, I think my language is the best there is, and I believe my people are the kindest, most generous, loving souls that ever existed on this earth. So I would much rather spend my days not having to think about Muslims and Islam. Every day I don't think of you and your wretched religion is a blessed day.
So I beg you to not 'carry your message to us'. It is not in your interest nor is it in ours. Do not be deluded into thinking otherwise. |

But Cassie that is the way the monotheistic faith works. The jews did not feel the need because their God was making the pact only with that Tribe as far as I know. But Paul universalized that message and to this day the christians feel compelled to spread the good tidings of jesus to everyone, whether anyone likes it or not. I cannot tell you how often and how many times I have had to tell some bible thumper to please spare our house. Islam is in the same tradition. When you have one true God and one true Message, and you really believe that, then it would be awfully selfish and mean spirited to not share the good tidings with your fellow humans. And then "follow the money" tells you that wider the word spreads, larger the donation pile for someone somewhere follows by necessity, and that ain't bad.
Unfortunately they are compelled to carry their message to us just as our missionaries are compelled to carry the good news of jesus to the rest of the world. _________________ Ali Sina: "The truth is out there for those who want to see it. It is beyond doubt."
