It´s a pity that you are going to leave.
You most certainly were one of the very few qualified muslim posters.
I can´t say that I know how you feel. But I went through a similar situation when I started to doubt christianity while being afraid of burning in hell
It´s a difficult situation for you- I see. I also agree with sahara that the forum is at times pretty hostile. Since I am a pretty new member I don´t know really what this forum was like before. However, I think that some posts made by non-muslims are not very constructive and uneccesary. So you´re being offended by some non-muslims which see you as something of less value JUST because you are a muslim. By doing so they behave like the kind of people they despise. They exclude others simply because of their beliefs. On the other hand you´re being criticized by some muslims which say that you are not a real muslima. So I see that you are in the middle and almost torn apart.
I don´t know whether your doubts will increase or decrase, I don´t know whether you will be able to achieve your goals (i.e. being the way you were before). Anyway, one of the purposes of life is to learn and live and grow and every experience makes you grow if you want so. Doubt is something natural and responsible for the modern, free society we live in today (in the west). If it was not for the doubts even Europe would still be in the middle ages. Many great thinkers had a free spirit, were not bound to any religion. This enabled them to develop great ideas.
Anyway, Miss Ruby, I wish you all the best and that your life develops in a way which is best for you (whatever that means).
But if you were ever to apostate, please come here and share your experiences with us. I am sure that this would help many other muslims. And of course, if you want to come back, no matter if you are still muslim or not, I think that you would be most welcome.
You´re a clever, brave woman.

I didn't really get to know you well but what I do know of you was good, you have a good heart and it's a shame you are leaving, but I believe you have to leave because of temptation
Remember one thing at that is to trust your inner feelings, don't try to convince yourself of something your soul rejects
Open your arms and allow yourself to be guided to the right path dear miss ruby for you will only deceive yourself otherwise.
For you to of questioned your faith you are in doubt and it is not a sin to question your faith it is a sin to ignore the thruth.

I am saddened to hear you are leaving us. You did make me laugh and I'm confident that you are a lovely lady. I wish you the best for the future. Feel free to contact me if you need any advice (or whatever). If you live nr. Leicester, give me a PM. We can meet and chat if you need a 'real life' outlet - and i'll give you a big hug. Personally, i'm confused why you think your doubts about islam are "not good".
On a side note: Sahara is right about about our new "nuking mecca" members. It's important we slap these people down since they do the cause no good whatsoever. I remember Mythical Eagle (who i think is a nice lad) mentioning this a while ago. I mean, we have a guy here that is practically an apostate already, yet whenever he hears "nuking mecca" comments, he goes back into his islamic shell. I don't blame him. I'd be thinking "Why should I trust anyone who flippantly talks of nuking", even if it is said in bravado.

Yea you will be missed.
Is it the fear of losing orientation, the carpet being pulled below your feet ?
It´s takes time to find new ground and a new but stronger stand.
Is it the fear of eternal punishment, the fear of Mo being right, fear of allah being the tyrant god with a thin line between mercy and anger, or more fundamental; the thin line between heaven and hell ?
Maybe it is both ?
For both there is cure, but the cure may time to come in effect, it is a long road and struggle.
Freedom is a part of us, but to be free we have to catch roots inside ourselves. Look at the world, it was made to be in variety, it was made to be in all colours, made to be in all modes, made to be a blessing of complexity and variety in vision and experience. We are not made to be a like, to wear the same uniform, to live and think the same way, to be under the heel of either man, nor God!
For fear, fear of death, fear of doom, fear of God, we cannot be free through fear, we cannot be free as slaves, by bowing, submitting. We can only be free by courage and standing up.
God is no tyrant, I believe God is, and it is impossible that God could be tyrant, and impossible he could condemn people to eternal hell for the sake of actions in a single life, impossible in any circumstance.
Can we not all think of humans of great love ? Martin Luther King as an example. Many fine, loving and tolerant mind. What on earth can make us think of God´s love as any less than that ?

We are all Brothers and sisters in faith. If someone leaves Islam, it is a sad moment because we have lost a family member. I think even you can understand that, no?

Why do I get attacked almost everytime I console a Muslim?
They are my Brothers and Sister in Faith and I am just advising them. It doesnt make me feel insecure cos at the end of the day, no soul can bear the mistakes of any other. If at anytime I see a post like miss ruby's I will give my advice if I feel its necessary whether anyone likes it or not, its not like she hasnt been given the advice to leave Islam as it is.

If you get forced into a Faith, you wont accept it by heart, you may pretend to behave like an adherant of the faith, but inside you'll hate it, like Ali Sina pretending to be a Muslim but we know how he really feels.

What is it that is not good? That you have had fun?
Or that doubting "my own" religion has been fun?
Well, it won't be much fun fearing the hot fires of Hell and Allah.
What a complete waste of one's life fearing a non-existent deity and having no fun.
Doesn't Islam claim to encourage thinking? And thinking involves doubting everything and anything? So if doubting anything is forbidden, then that means that Islam can't really encourage thinking.

I don't think a Mohammedan board would be nearly as free. I'd likely be banned very quickly for posting my opinions because I don't slavishly stop thinking.
