High IamThat, welcome into the Garden, a most unusual thread at FFI forum focusing on spirituality and wisdom (as apart from any organized religion). Looking through its pages, you'll find topics covering the whole world of spirituality (enlightenment) like the obvious hyphen between the Christian Holy Spirit, the Judaic Shekinah, the Buddhist Bodhi (or Japanese Satori); the Zoroastrian Spenta Mainyu, the Hindu Paramatman (Vedic Agni) up to the yogist Kundalin.

Krishnamurti is only one author quoted here among many others, from Lao Tse to William Blake; Buddha & Confucius to H.D. Thoreau & R.W. Emerson; Thiruvalluvar to Vivekananda; from R. Maharishi to Kahlil Gibran, or Thomas Jefferson to Anthony de Mello; Plotinus up to the Dalai-Lama, etc. You're welcome to bring in whatever is related to wisdom and spirituality.

At the bottom of page 1 you'll find a summary of all pages within, plus direct link to every five pages.

The following interventions will deal with the Egyptian Ma'at and her 42 Principles of Virtue.

The picture features the Pyramids in an almost mystic, breathtaking, early sunrising blue midst.

The 42 Maat's Principles of Virtue were first found in the Ptahotep Imprecations, dated around ~2760, but the version usually bring forth comes from the 'Book of Dead' (rather 'Coming Forth By Day', or even The Book of Resurrection), and its world famous Papyrus of Ani, dated ~1240. Many think that the 10 commandments originated out of them. We shall see that abiding to those would make our societies evolve drastically from an ethic perspective.

I'll present the old Wikipedia set up, from my files, which were changed most probably from vested interests. The opening lines of Wiki are: Ma'at, (...), was the Ancient Egyptian concept of law, morality, and justice which was deified as a goddess. Ma'at was seen as being charged with regulating the stars, seasons, and the actions of both mortals and gods.

Maat was much more than just a goddess, she symbolized the whole Ethic of Ancient Egypt. Her husband, Toth, was the perfect match since he was reputed to be the god of wisdom and knowledge, later known as Hermes Trismegistus (the thrice great). We'll have a look at him too.

Maat's 42 ethic principles (the 10 biblical commandments are shown in bold):
Quote:

1. I have not killed, nor bid anyone kill.
2. I have not committed adultery or rape.
3. I have not avenged myself nor burned with rage.
4. I have not caused terror.

5. I have not assaulted anyone nor caused anyone pain.
6. I have not caused misery.
7. I have not done any harm to man or to animals.
8. I have not caused the shedding of tears.
9. I have not wronged the people nor bear them any evil intent.
10. I have not stolen nor taken that which does not belong to me.
11. I have not taken more than my fair share of food.
12. I have not damaged the crops, the fields, or the trees.

13. I have not deprived anyone of what is rightfully theirs.
14. I have not beard false witness, nor supported false allegations.
15. I have not lied, nor spoken falsely to the hurt of another.
16. I have not used fiery words nor stirred up any strife.
17. I have not spoken nor acted deceitfully to the hurt of another.
18. I have not spoken scornfully against others.
19. I have not eavesdropped.
20. I have not ignored the truth or words of righteousness.

21. I have not judged anyone hastily or harshly.
22. I have not disrespected sacred places.
23. I have caused no wrong to be done to any workers or prisoners.
24. I have not been angry without good reason.
25. I have not hindered the flow of running water.
26. I have not wasted the running water.
27. I have not polluted the water or the land.

28. I have not taken God's name in vain.
29. I have not despised nor anger the Gods.
30. I have not stolen from God.
31. I have not given excessive offerings nor less than what is due.
32. I have not coveted thy neighbor's goods.
33. I have not stolen from nor disrespect the dead.
34. I have remembered and observed the appointed holy days.
35. I have not held back the offerings due to the Gods.
36. I have not interfered with sacred rites.

37. I have not slaughtered with evil intent any sacred animals.
38. I have not acted with guile or insolence.
39. I have not been unduly proud nor acted with arrogance.
40. I have not magnified my condition beyond what is appropriate.
41. I have done no less than my daily obligations require.
42. I have obeyed the law and committed no treason.

If we look at the first four, in a starting look over, its easy to see how improving they would be:
1. I have not killed, nor bid anyone kill.
2. I have not committed adultery or rape.
3. I have not avenged myself nor burned with rage.
4. I have not caused terror.

We will look over the other blocks in the next posts.

Did we ever improve from those 42 Principles of Ethical Guidance?
The answer is quite obvious... But we'll have a close-up on them.

The Opet Festival, its carrying of the Ark of Covenant, where the Nesu (Pharaoh) was confirmed as the Son of God, was held in the month of Pakhons, the harvest time (16 of March to 14 of April). Pakhons (or Pa-Khonsu) became the Jewish Pessah, the Greek Pascha and the Latin Pachons. Easter (East) being related to Eostre (Dawn) and yet to Ishtar (Venus). Still Venus as the Morning Star is related to the Hindu goddess USHA, which name can be traced back in the Nesite (Hittite) capital of Hattusa, the Nabataean Dushara, the Arabic al-Uzza and, possibly, in the very name of Jerusalem! Shalim being its Phoenician (male) equivalent and the root for Hebrew Shalom (Peace).

Nisu (or Nesu) not Pharaoh.
An etymological tragedy happened when we lost the roots of the original names while adopting Greeks' or biblical appelations (Egypt instead of Kemet). The original name for Pharaoh (-Nisu or Nesu-) as possibly related to the Nesite (Hittite) is so completely masked through those spoliations...

It first was just another epithet and only began to mean king around the end of the 22nd dynasty. Its founder was Shoshenq (~945/~924), the controversial 'Shishaq' of the Bible (2Chr.12.2-9).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Egyptian_royal_titulary
http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/titles.htm
----"Pharaoh", the most popular "title" of the Egyptian King, is not Egyptian at all. That is to say, the Egyptians did not call their King "Pharaoh" until very late in their history, and then only as non-Egyptians took up the word. "Pharaoh" is a Hebrew pronunciation of the Egyptian word, per-aa, meaning Great House, and was first used as a label for the king himself around 1450 BCE. But the title-word for the King was nisu, as can be seen for example in the Offering Formula, or hetep di nisu.

Nisu-bity (Lord of the Two Lands)
http://www.ancient-egypt.org/index.html
The Royal Titulary:
http://www.ancient-egypt.org/language/titulary/
----The earliest certain instance where "the Great House" actually refers to the king is in a letter to Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten), which is addressed to "Pharaoh, may he live, prosper and be in health, the Master". From the 19th Dynasty onward it is used occasionally just as "His Majesty" might be used. We read "Pharaoh did such and such". In other words the term has become a respectful designation for the king, just as "the White House" sometimes refers to the person living in it rather than to the building itself. The final development was when a proper name was added to the title, as in "Pharaoh Hophra" of the Old Testament. The earliest known Egyptian example of this use is under one of the Shoshenks of the 22nd Dynasty.

Edited note: It is the opinion of Gerald Massey in his "Ancient Egypt, The Light of the World" that the term 'Pharaoh' is not coming from the word 'Para' (house) but from 'Paru' which means lion. The ruler of Kemet had a very old epithet of Paruhak-Khepera, as the guardian lion of the house of Kemet like when he had to defend his country.

Many are the gurus who are proficient to the utmost in Vedas and Shastras; but rare is the guru who has attained to the supreme Truth.

Many are the gurus on earth who give what is other than the Self; but rare is the guru who brings to light the Atman.

Many are the gurus who rob the disciple of his wealth; but rare is the guru who removes the disciple's afflictions.

Many are they who are given to the discipline and conduct according to caste, stage, and family; but he who is devoid of all volition is a guru rare to find.

He is the guru by whose very contact there flows the supreme bliss; the intelligent man shall choose such a one as the guru and no other.

Hi again IamThat.
I've slightly edited your quote of mine for precision sake. People keep on visiting this thread at an amazing rate. My time is very tight, as I am now thorn between important things to do. So sorry for the delay. I'll take care of the Garden still but, as you've mentioned, it's a grown up one now...

Take care.

HARMONY. Harmony is the Alpha & Omega of true spirituality, where opposites co-exist.
As such, nothing is more practical than the inner wisdom of its out bounding way by.

And, may the peaceful harmony of the dawn fill your day...

According to Nicholas de Cusa (1401-1464), in his ''De Docta Ignorantia', (Of Learned Ignorance) God could best be defined as "That through which opposites coexist". Dawns and dusks being like daily rainbow of harmonizing opposites, people of old considered them as holy moments.

Nicholas de Cusa
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_of_Cusa
Quote:
Nicholas of Cusa was noted for his deeply mystical writings about Christianity, particularly on the possibility of knowing God with the divine human mind - not possible through the mere senses or "learned ignorance." He was suspected by some of holding pantheistic beliefs, but his writings were never accused of being heretical.

Most of his mathematical ideas can be found in his essays, De Docta Ignorantia (Of Learned Ignorance), De Visione Dei (Vision of God) and On Conjectures. Theologically, Nicholas anticipated the profound implications of Reformed teaching on the harrowing of Hell (Sermon on Psalm 30:11), followed by Pico della Mirandola, who similarly explained the descensus in terms of Christ’s agony.

Nicholas is also considered by many to be a genius ahead of his time in the field of science. Nicolaus Copernicus, Galileo Galilei and Giordano Bruno were all aware of the writings of Cusanus as was Johannes Kepler (who called Cusanus 'divinely inspired' in Kepler's first paragraph of his first published work).

Predating Kepler, Cusanus said that no perfect circle can exist in the universe (opposing the Aristotelean model) thus opening the possibility for Kepler's model featuring elliptical orbits of the planets around the Sun. He also influenced Giordano Bruno by denying the finiteness of the universe and the Earth's exceptional position in it (being not the center of the universe, and in that regard equal in rank with the other stars).

He was not, however, describing a scientifically verifiable theory of the universe: his beliefs (which proved uncannily accurate) were based almost entirely on his own personal numerological calculations and metaphysics. He made important contributions to the field of mathematics by developing the concepts of the infinitesimal and of relative motion. Cusanus was the first to use concave lenses to correct myopia. His writings were essential for Leibniz's discovery of calculus as well as Cantor's later work on infinity.

Just like Vivekananda influenced Nikoli Tesla, while in the USA...
As I've said: nothing is more practical than spirituality! NOTHING.

In the material world it is related to electricity, like when the poles (+/-) meet.
In the conscience it is related to enlightenment, when one's polarity subsides!

May the peace of the dawn bless your day through the harmonization of opposites!

Harmonization of opposites is also the concept of Justice. The scale of Maat's judgment became that of the Greek goddess Themis and it is still a symbol of justice throughout the world.

Quote:

Here, the law is referring to the cosmic orderly law, much like the Hindu concept of sanatana dharma and karma, through the vedic Rta, as the ruling wisdom of the universe. This concept is also found in the Greek Hagia Sophia (holy wisdom), as in Heraclitus' Logos: ''Listening not to me but to the Logos, it is wise to agree that all is one.'' --Heraclitus.

This concept of cosmic equity is best represented by Ma'at's balance, like in this Egyptian saying: ''Pay attention to the decision of truth and the plummet of the balance, according to its stance !" --Papyrus of Ani, Plate 3 - XXVIIIth Dynasty - the plummet as hieroglyph for "heart."

http://www.sofiatopia.org/maat/preface.htm
Quote:
The "logic" behind this sapiental operation involved four rules :

1. Inversion: When a concept is introduced, its opposite is also invoked (the two scales of the balance). (...) That everything has two sides is fundamental here. This would return in Archaic Greek philsophy as the conflict between the "enantia" or elements of creation.

2. Asymmetry: Flow is the outcome of inequality between the scales. (...) Creation was, thanks to the deities, a tiny island of peace and prosperity amid the primordial ocean, which was not extended in space and time. The relapse of order into chaos was put back by Pharaoh and his justice. (...) So, although proto-rationality had to introduce some quasi-decontextualized standard, it conceived of a dynamical dual-unitive concept rooted in Predynastic myth, namely : the Dynastic chain of Pharaohs to guarantee the presence of order and thus the eternal continuity of the unity of Egypt (conceived as the proto-type for creation as a whole).

3. Reciprocity: the two sides of everything interact and are interdependent (the beam of the balance). (...) The transcendent function of Pharaoh was precisely this symbolical reciprocity between all parts of the pyramidal structure of society. If one scale outweighed the other to the point of breaking the beam, or if both contained too much, harmonious relationships were absent and justice and truth had not been offered to the deities.

4. Multiplicity-in-oneness : the possibilities between every pair are measured by one standard (the plummet). (...) The measurement of the differential between the scales is the "conscience" of every operation. If too far off limit, the plummet will record an unmeasurable quantity, and no precise calculation will be possible. In that case, the constant equilibration of multiplicity by oneness (setting its standard or set of limitations) is broken down and chaos has overtaken order. If, however, the right angle between plummet and beam approximates zero orb, then perfect balance is achieved, and oneness eliminates multiplicity (for two scales have balanced perfectly and no flow is achieved). The orb of the right angle determines the "truth" of the established equilibrium, which is always broken down by the ongoing influx of desequilibrium and chaos into the world of order. An honest person aims to preserve the balance of the balance.

Equilibrium is never about pushing on one side as to correct the other since this is part of an endless chain reaction (karma) carrying chaos. Truth can never have only one side. It must be uniting the opposites at play, otherwise no balance is obtained.

After Akhenaten, "who lives by Maat", the will of the gods was equated with Maat, which in fact stopped the concept from working (the principle of balancing scales being abolished). Hence, The Instruction of Amenemope (NK, XIX / XXth Dynasty, ca. 1292 - 1075 BCE) can be seen as the last major work of Egypt's sapiental literature. Since then, the situation only got worst from emphazising on one opposite against the other (Us Vs Them). That is underlined when you differenciate G-d from Life itself like at strive with reality!

''In knowing the Truth, thy shalt find freedom'' --Tomb of Seti I. But the truth has all sides at once!

Kemet wasn't based on ideals, philosophical concept or politic. It was based of the living wisdom of being. Like one can only be truthfully praying when naked, not wearing the garments of vanity... So, the only litterature they ever wrote down was some wisdom sayings!

http://www.sofiatopia.org/maat/ptahhotep.htm
--Cleanse yourself before your own eyes, lest another cleanse you.

--May hearing enter him and the exactness of every heart that speaks to him. No one is born wise.

--Follow your heart as long as You live.
Do no more than is required.
Do not shorten the time of 'follow-the-heart',
(for) trimming its moment offends the Ka.
Do not waste time on daily cares
beyond providing for your household.
When wealth has come, follow your heart !
Wealth does no good if one is annoyed !

--May your name be good without You talking about it.

--He who obeys his belly, obeys the enemy.

--Where a hiding crocodile emerges, hatred arises.

--If You want your conduct to be perfect,
deliver yourself from every evil,
(and) combat against the greed of the heart.
It is a grievous sickness without cure,
impossible to penetrate.
It causes disaster among fathers and mothers,
among the brothers of the mother,
and parts wife from husband.
It is an amalgam of all evils,
a bundle of all hateful things.
That man endures who correctly applies Maat,
and walks according to his stride.
He will make a will by it.
The greedy of heart has no tomb !

--To provide increases love.

--He who knows is known by his wisdom, (...)
(For) acting with Maat, he is free of falsehood.

--Every man teaches as he acts.

Quoting:
That this profound literary genre emerged more than 4000 years ago, is highly remarkable and should mobilize more attention than it has. So the wisest sages of Ancient Egypt were pre-philosophers ? True, they did not argue in abstract, discursive categories. Their schemes, pre-concepts and concrete conceptualizations allow us to understand thought from an unexpected, ante-rational perspective, so that the aim of cognitive philosophy is realized : an integrated rationality in harmony with ante-rationalist (and its instincts) & intellectual perception (and its intuitions). This is a rationality with a global perspective, working in the local context of everyday. It fosters sustainable harmonization instead of sustainable development, for enduring growth is an illusion. Only the balance itself endures, not what lies in its scales.

Aristotle: The Plague of the Mind
We own to Aristotle so many mistakes that he must be single out as the one worst influence over the world and our way of thinking. Most of today's advances in science and astronomy came out in opposition to one or the other of his stands. The chosen few leading blinded mobs is yet another.

Among them was also his idea that politic was the summit of philosophy so, came out of this, political self-called 'religions' aiming at controlling people's minds and hearts. That is bringing our world to the point of collapsing disaster! The truth is the exact contrary: the summit of philosophy is not in politic at all, but within the balance brought forth by spirituality which is HARMONY in action...

See: Aristotle’s logic -Why Aristotelian logic does not work
http://www.abelard.org/category/category.htm
Quote:
By Aristotelian logic, I mean category logic, excluded-middle logic, on/off logic, either/or logic. No greys – only black and white. This false ‘logic’ lies at the heart of authoritarianism, conflict, and a great deal of inadequate ‘science’. You are either for us or against us. He ‘is’ ‘good’ or he ‘is’ ‘bad’ . You did, you didn’t. ‘Dyslexia’ is caused by ‘genetics’ or ‘brain trauma’.

Aristotelian logic is also called by some, ‘Descartian logic’. The problems caused by Aristotelian logic are legion and accumulate. They include the misuse of ‘properties’, as well as a failure to match ‘theory’ to the real world. Those who take a pragmatic/empirical approach are less likely to be caught by the consequences of this theoretical paradigm. There is much more on the ‘property’ problem in the MetalogicA series of documents – the Confusions of Gödel.

Reality
You have been raised in an unsane culture. Driving that unsanity is a slavery to words. For sanity, you must learn to attend to reality outside yourself. The woods and the trees are real. To discuss them adequately, you must learn to communicate with clarity. That means understanding the confusions of language that are rife in western culture.

Every time you use a word you make a choice, you form a category to which only you have access.

The errors of Aristotelian logic are so pervasive that they cannot be sorted by one or two simple fixes. Thus I must tackle them in parallel until you may grasp the problems as a gestalt, or else take a leap of faith in completely revising your expressive mental set. Until that point, you are liable to attempt to drive a broken cart that will not go.

It is not enough to attempt to fix Aristotelian logic if you are to cogently discuss issues such as mathematics, politics, philosophy, psychology, economics and the like in a sane and rational manner. For the invasive elements of Aristotelian logic make rational discussion of subtle real-world issues effectively impossible.

Please check the site. It is a crucial understanding for the perenity of this world of ours! If Satan is the Prince of striving divisions, Aristotle is that of Categories (Us-good Vs Them-bad)... Aristotle is to the mind what personal mines are to a field: you can't use it properly until it's demined.

A very old post of mine about Aristotle...

Closing this segment on Ma'at...
For Lao Tsu, Ma'at was The Way (see the Dao De Ching, pages 18, 26, 45-46). For Chinese, she's the Chi harmonizing the ever conflictings Yin & Yang, the working principle behind acupuncture. The Hindus call her Sanatana Dharma, Mata Bharata (which became the goddess Britannia) or even Usha (Dawn). The Greeks called her Logos. Ma'at is the transcending harmony behond duality. We call her 'G-d' !

http://touregypt.net/godsofegypt/maat2.htm
Quote:
Ma'at, unlike Hathor and Nephthys, seemed to be more of a concept than an actual goddess. Her name, literally, meant 'truth' in Egyptian. She was truth, order, balance and justice personified. She was harmony, she was what was right, she was what things should be. It was thought that if Ma'at didn't exist, the universe would become chaos, once again! (...)

Because of Ma'at, the Egyptians knew that the universe, that everything in the universe, worked on a pattern, just as, later on, the Greeks called the underlying order of the universe logos. (...)

Ma'at was reality, the solid grounding of reality that made the Sun rise, the stars shine, the river flood and mankind think. The universe itself, all the world around them, was sacred in the ancient view. "Ethics" is an issue of human will and human permission. It is a function of the human world of duality. What is "ethical" for one group is sin for another. But Ma'at, the reality that made all groups what they are is transcendent of ethics, just as a rock or a flower is amoral, a-ethical, without "truth or falsehood." How can a flower be "false" or "ethical." It just is. How can the universe be "ethical or moral, right or wrong"? It simply is. That is Ma'at.

There is no duality in the Truth or else it is Aristotelian, much like the biblical Babel tower !

As far as I know this painting is anonymous! Anyone knows better?

As I've said in the opening post on this very page, spirituality as the principle of enlightenment is found in all traditions like an intemporal hyphen. Is it the Christian Holy Spirit, the Judaic Shekinah, the Quranic Sakinah (Q.48.4), the Buddhist Bodhi, the Hindu Paramatman up to the yogist Kundalin.

Acts 2.1-5 (undoing the Babel's curse)...
Quote:
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Matthew 12. 25-26/31-32
Quote:
And knowing their thoughts he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: and if Satan casteth out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand? (...)

Therefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come.

Qur'an 48.1-5 (Chr.111th): The Quranic Sakinah (Q.48.4).
Quote:
Lo! We have given thee a signal victory, That Allah may forgive thee of thy sin that which is past and that which is to come, and may perfect His favour unto thee, and may guide thee on a right path, And that Allah may help thee with strong help -

He it is Who sent down peace of reassurance (As-Sakinah) into the hearts of the believers that they might add faith unto their faith. Allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is ever Knower, Wise -

That He may bring the believing men and the believing women into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide, and may remit from them their evil deeds - That, in the sight of Allah, is the supreme triumph.

May the dawn, its harmonization of opposites, bless your days...

Jiddu Krishnamurti, Bangalore, 31 January 1971.
Now the one who says he knows does not know. Have you understood now? The man who says, "I have experienced God; I know what it means to be enlightened", means simply, "I know the way to the station", because the station is a fixed place. There are many paths to the station, there are many gurus for each path and they all say, "We know, we have experienced" - which means what? They have known something, and hold on to something that has been experienced, dead.

There is no path to truth, because truth is a living thing, it is not a fixed, static, dead thing. Like you, Sir, what are you? Are you static? Aren't you changing every day, for worse or better? So I can never say I know you. It is a most stupid form of saying "I know". It is a kind of consolation, it is a kind of security for myself.

When you understand this one question completely, you have understood so many things. So distrust any man who says "I know", any man who says, "I will lead you to enlightenment; do these things and you will achieve." Have nothing to do with such people, they are dead people, because they are living in the past, with things they do not know - enlightenment, truth. Truth is a timeless state, you cannot come by it through time.

Hi folks, time to water the garden once again in this 777th post, while saluting the very near 55,555th hits on the thread!
People kept it being 'active' even while dormant for a full year now. Visiting still at an amazing rate, doubling the hits.

A quote from Antony de Mello:
Quote:
The Prayer of the Frog (1987).
Brother Bruno was at prayer one night. Disturbed by the croaking of a bullfrog and unable to get on with his prayer, he shouted from his window: "Quiet! I'm at my prayers." Since Brother Bruno was a saint, his command was instantly obeyed. All living creatures held their voices, and there was total silence.

But an inner voice now intrudes: "Can't it be that God is as pleased with the croaking of the frog as with Bruno's prayers?" The Brother is not convinced. What can possibly please God in the croak of a frog? But the voice persists: Why then did God create the frog and give it the ability to croak? Bruno gives in, however reluctantly. He leans out and gives the order: "Sing!" The bullfrog and all the frogs in the neighborhood start croaking. And, to Bruno's surprise, it is no longer jarring.

When he stops resisting, the voices actually enrich the silence of the night. "With that discovery Bruno's heart became harmonious with the universe and, for the first time in his life, he understood what it means to pray."

In spirituality silence is not the absence of noise but within the absence of that as a perturbation.
A balancing harmonization with was is instead of the annoying tribulations of what should be...

You'll find other excerpts from Antony in pages 4, 19, 34 & 42 (just look at the bottom of page 1 for a resume of all pages, plus direct link to every 5 pages).
So long...

To be spiritual also means to laugh about things. This segment will present this side of spirituality. As Lao Tze wrote: ''Without the laugh there would be no Tao''!
Funny quotes and signs can be found into pages 1,33 and 38. Ending the first page you'll find a summary of all topics therein + a direct link to every 5 pages.

When did I realize I was God? Well, I was praying and I suddenly realized I was talking to myself (Peter O'Toole).

Vow of Silence
An aspiring monk wanted to find a Guru. He went to an monastery and his preceptor told him: "You can stay here but we have one important rule - all students observe the vow of silence. You will be allowed to speak to me once every 12 years". After practicing silence and meditation for 12 long years, finally the student could say his one thing, and : "The bed is too hard."

After another 12 years of hard silent meditation, he had the opportunity to speak again. He said: "The food is not good." Twelve more years of hard work passed. His words after 36 years of practice: "I quit." His Guru quickly answered: "Good, all you have been doing is complaining."

If a person wants to be atheistic, it's his God-given right to be an atheist (Michael Patton).

In the begining there was nothing and God said 'Let there be light', and there was still nothing but everybody could see it (Dave Thomas).

Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company. In the first place God made idiots.
That was for practice. Then he made school boards (Mark Twain).

I am a creationist; I refuse to believe that I could have evolved from humans (Unknown).

Beijing airport. It says: "If we reduce the population, everyone will feel relief."

Careful with that light at the end of the tunnel, it might be another train coming (Unknown).

Atheism is a non-prophet organization (Unknown).

God made everything out of nothing, but the nothingness shows through (Paul Valery).

Warning: Dates in Calendar are closer than they appear (Unknown).

My Karma ran over my Dogma!! (Unknown).

Never drive faster than your angel can fly! (Unknown)

''Without the laugh, there would be no Tao'' (Lao Tze)

The Marriage in Heaven... ( )
There was a young couple very much in love. On the night before they were to be married, both were killed in an automobile accident. They found themselves at the pearly gates of heaven being escorted in by St. Peter. After a couple of weeks in heaven, the prospective groom took St. Peter aside and said, "St. Peter, my fiancee and I are very happy to be in heaven, but we miss very much the opportunity to have our wedding vows celebrated. Is it possible for people in heaven to get married?" St. Peter looked at him and said, "I'm sorry, I've never heard of anyone in heaven wanting to get married. I'm afraid you'll have to talk to the Lord God Almighty about that. I can get you an appointment in two weeks from Wednesday."

Come the appointed day, the couple was escorted by the guardian angels into the presence of the Lord God Almighty, where they repeated the request. The Lord looked at them solemnly and said, "I tell you what; wait a year and if you still want to get married, come back and we will talk about it again."

A year went by and the couple, still very much wanting to get married, came back. Again, the Lord God Almighty said, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you must wait another year, and then I will consider your request." This happened year after year, for ten years. Each time they reasserted their yearning to be married; each time God put them off for another year. In the tenth year, they came before they Lord God Almighty to ask again. This time the Lord answered, "Yes, you may marry! This Saturday at 2:00 p.m. We will have a beautiful ceremony in the main chapel. The reception will be on me!"

The wedding went off without a hitch. The bride looked beautiful. The Buddha did the flower arrangements for which Moses wove simple yet elegant baskets. Jesus prepared the fish course. All of heaven's denizens attended, and a good time was had by all. Tragically, but perhaps inevitably, within a few weeks, the newlyweds realized that they had made a horrible mistake. They simply couldn't stay married to one another. So they made another appointment to see the Lord God Almighty.

Groveling and frightened, they asked if they could get a divorce. The Lord heard their request, looked at them, and said, "Look, it took us TEN YEARS to find a priest up here in heaven. Do you have any idea how long it'll take us to find a lawyer?"
