Hi

I've written (well, still a couple pages to go) a commentary on the life of Muhammad, based on Ibn Ishaq and al-Tabari. Care is taken to cover just about everything of significance, as well as to not say anything negative about Muhammad himself. The scriptures take perfectly good care of that anyway.

The link is:

A little write-up:

Mythbusting Muhammad
There's been a lot of myth concerning Muhammad, his example and the founding of Islam. The Quran is difficult to comprehend, and does little in the way of showing the life of Muhammad. Not so with the Hadith. Here we see his life and example (sunnah) painted in vivid detail, Not only does this remove a lot of myths about Muhammad, especially of the hagiographical kind. By seeing the context in which the Quran was revealed, significant light is shed on this work as well. All information about Muhammad in this site is drawn from the two original Islamic biographies of Muhammad by Ibn Ishaq and al-Tabari, and thus shows clearly how he is percieved by Muslims and the example he sets for Muslims today.

Everyone's encouraged to link and mirror the site.

Good luck!

What an extensive list. What a great resource of knowledge. What a virtual monument to the horrors of slavery in Islam...

Actually, I would be happy if someone could answer this simple question for me...
Who started slavery in Africa: The Europeans, the Arabs, or the Africans themselves?
