Check out this gem:
http://www.petitiononline.com/iecrc786/petition.html

In response to Craig Winn's "Prophet of Doom," a bunch of Muslims have set up a petition titled "Stop Hatred & Misinformation about the Best of Creation (peace be upon him)." They're demanding that all bookstores stop carrying it, and that it cease being published! I haven't read the book myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if the facts are at least somewhat sound... Take a look at their rationale: they're saying this book is "outside the pale of America's freedom of expression as it contributes towards the provocation of hate and the fraying of the fabric of its multi-cultural society by offending the sensibilities of a large segment of its population."

Since when the hell does offending a large segment of the population fall outside the fold of free speech? My First Amendment sure as hell doesn't say that...

I think we should spam the hell out of this stupid petition to let these idiots know that they have no legal recourse against an author who exposes Muhammad for the pedophilic warmonger he is. And we should deliberately visit Craig Winn's website to get him more exposure (I believe it's www.prophetofdoom.com. What do you guys think?

Contact every library, school, parents and citizens association, every universtiy and ask them to put Prophet of Doom on their book-shelves.

Print-out from the free on-line version and distribute home-made copies.

We must at least match to concerted group efforts of these censoring muslims.

There is a thread on this forum here for the purpose of developing a list of contacts to alert.

Please put in the effort and do a bit to build this action-centre list.

First we need to prepare a good speil for a petition and run it past others for proof-reading.

Here's how to get started:

http://www.petitiononline.com/create_petition.html

Free Petition Submission Form

Welcome! To submit an online petition for free hosting here at PetitionOnline.com, please first take a few minutes to read through this form, and bookmark this page so you can get back here easily. If you have additional questions, please consult the PetitionOnline Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page. Finally, take a few minutes to look at least two or three existing petitions already running here at PetitionOnline.com

Then, once you have a sense of how our petitions work, prepare your petition statement and strategy. Hundreds or thousands or even more people will read your petition statement at this site, so before you submit, please do take the time to get it right. Poorly worded petitions with bad spelling and grammatical errors will be an embarrassment to the petition author.

Spell-checking is a bare minimum! We recommend using word processing software to prepare the text of your petition statement (which you can then copy and paste into this form when it is all ready).

Once your petition has been created, it cannot normally be edited. Consider for a moment how would you feel if someone could change a document after you had signed it!

For experienced advice on writing persuasive letters and petitions, take a look at the book by author and communicator .

When your petition statement is ready, checked and double-checked, then fill out this form completely and accurately. When the form is complete, read and click the "Preview This Submission" button at the bottom of this page to go to the next step. When you approve the preview and actually submit a petition, our staff will automatically be notified of your submission.

Once your petition has been written and submitted, and is actually live here on the web, then it's time to focus on spreading the word.

The concept is simple: the more people you can send here to read your petition, the more people will sign it and thus contribute to your cause.

E-mail a petition announcement to your friends, submit your petition page to major search engines, promote the petition in appropriate online forums, and get as many good incoming links connected to your petition as possible.

For a good petition, lots of traffic will lead to lots of signatures, and to petition success!
Whether you submit a petition today or not, thank you for visiting PetitionOnline!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
www.PetitionOnline.com provides free hosting of public petitions for responsible public advocacy. This public forum is privately sponsored, so we reserve the right to refuse submissions arbitrarily. Petitions do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of Artifice, Inc. or our sponsors. Please send us ! well what are we doing then.. Let us start the compaign at FFI and move around the world on net to every one who can read...

some thing like this..

Quote:
To: All Bookstores, All Rational, Sensible Religious and Non-religious People of This World:

1). We the undersigned declare that we are utterly shocked and dismayed at the shocking signature campaign that is going on In Muslim world and Non-Mulsim world by Mohammadonians on the publication of Mr. Craig Winn's book "Prophet of Doom".,

2). We the free world and freedom loving people will not be cowed down and will fight for the fundamental rights to criticize any one any thing on this earth. Muslims believe in lots of things that doesn’t mean they are right.

We believe that Q'uran is copy/pasted book with a bit of addition of Mr. Mohammad and his Clown caliphs.

4). We believe that ISLAM steps on every freedom-loving citizen of this world...

5)...??

That's their style, censorship. They realise the umma is on a downward spiral with no hope of recovery.

Post your suggestions for a petition-letter here.

Then we can develop a draft for proof-reading final presentation, and get this show on the road.

Okay, a few suggestions for the petition.

For one, we MUST appear neutral toward Islam in the petition. True, we know Islam is pure evil, but the petition should be structured as a freedom of expression concern rather than an anti-Islam concern. Of course we'll indirectly be calling Islam into question by making clear Muslim attempts to stifle even the slightest criticism of their religion or its '"Prophet." This will make our petition more legitimate to non-Muslims who still think Islam is a religion of peace, and may help us win them over; when they see that this "peaceful" religion insists that criticism of its tenets or its "Prophet" falls outside the scope of free expression, their bull***t radar will go off immediately.

It should go something like this

We the undersigned are shocked and appalled by recent Muslim attempts to stifle circulation of Craig WInn's "Prophet of Doom," by demanding that bookstores stop carrying it and that its publication cease.
As firm supporters of First Amendment freedoms, we demand that authors critical of Islam (or any other religion) be given full First Amendment protection.
Insofar as the United States of America is founded on a separation of church and state, the charge of blasphemy is utterly inapplicable in US courts. Moreover, Muslims must realize that their religion, however dear it may be to them or however many followers adhere to it, is in no way exempt from being subjected to rationalist critique, as has been the case for centuries with the other major religions.

This is just a rough draft, but tell me guys what you think.

All right people, I just realized that the crazy "Don't criticize Muhammad (Piss be upon Him)" petition is the second most popular petition in all of PetitionOnline! That means we need to move quickly to get a petition of our own going, so it can outnumber theirs. I've already posted my ideas for a prototype. Feedback would be appreciated.

Cyber,

First things first, we can get to the other one later.

Hi USApostate,

I think your letter suffices, we don't have time to fluff around.

The idea of remaining aloof from being anti-islam is appropriate.

Let's get this happening.

I am having a problem with my browser and can't get the Petition On-line application-form working, can someone get the petition up and running?

We will also need some quality testimonies or opinions to accompany the petition as the muslims have, i.e. Ibn Warraq, Ali Sina...any constitutional lawyers here?

Some of the more eloquent posters here might be obliging on this issue.

Let's move, move, move!

Then launch an e-mail campaign to get the petition spread around.

I suggest also getting linlks on other sites about the petoition, i.e. haganah's site, LGFootballs, ISIS, Memri, AOI.....think of more and list them here.

No big deal. They could have a zillion signatures and it wouldn't change the law.

The OtherWhiteMeat:
Regardless, we still need to publicize the fact that they're attempting to censor anyone who criticizes Islam. Obviously their petition won't change the law, but the fact that it exists is testament to the fact that they are trying to create an impregnable wall around Islam in the US (CAIR routinely tries to pass legislation that wuold stifle criticism of Islam).

Piggy:
Yeah, let's start immediately. I would love to start the petition off with prominent signatories. Ali Sina, if you're reading this, would you be willing to sign? and if you can get in touch with high profile people like Ibn Warraq, all the better. I know you're busy, but if you manage to see this post, please let me know if you approve.

As for linking, I agree with linking on ISIS and AOI, but I'm thinking we should focus on US-based stuff; Haganah is Israeli, so maybe it's kinda outside our realm of focus? What do you think?

That's all for now. Anyone with ideas, please share.... Hopefully we'll have the petition up by the end of the weekend at the very latest.
