http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fawza_Falih

Quote:
Fawza Falih Muhammad Ali is a Saudi woman who made international headlines after she was condemned to death for practicing witchcraft in 2006.[1] As of August 2008, she was still facing execution.[2]

In a letter dated February 13, 2008, Christoph Wilcke, a researcher with Human Rights Watch, exhorted King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud to halt her execution. The letter states she was sentenced to death by beheading for the crimes of witchcraft, recourse to jinn, and animal slaughter. Human Rights Watch argued that Falih should not be executed because the crime of witchcraft is not defined by Saudi law, the judges failed to ensure a fair trial, and Falih was unable to defend herself because of "significant procedural flaws throughout the trial".[3]

The woman, who is illiterate, was detained by the religious police in 2005 and allegedly she was beaten and forced to sign by fingerprinting a confession she was not able to read.

Really strange coz witch hunts are rather unusual in the Muslim world. Anyone knows what happened to her? She seems to have disappeared from the news after August.

You would almost think that article should be dated March 15, 1635, not in the year 2008. Backwards barbarians, trying a women for something that does not exist.

Let's call a spade a spade here - those "significant procedural flaws" are the basic rules of Sharia law. It's a system that is based more on "honour" than evidence.

If I remember correctly, wasn't it alleged that she made several men impotent?

Maybe she magiced herself out of there, if she is illiterate, how could she record her spells?
