Firstly, I cant get right to you when you make a comment, so be patient. Im busy alot, and I will get back to.

I see on the main forum that someone is claiming that the Quran says the sun revolves around earth. Lets take a closer look.

036.040
YUSUFALI: It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law).
PICKTHAL: It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.
SHAKIR: Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere.

Obvioulsy from this, it states the sun is in orbit, as is the moon. If the sun and the moon came out of earth, they would have overtaken each other.

037.005
YUSUFALI: Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun!
PICKTHAL: Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings.
SHAKIR: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts.

Again, this states the sun doesnt come up in one spot, and each place has a certain time zone. If the sun came up in one place, each would see it at the same time.

038.032
YUSUFALI: And he said, "Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"- until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of night):

This states that the earth revolves around the sun, and the sun does not rotate around the earth.

From http://www.thewaytotruth.org/science/movement.html:
Commenting on the Qur’anic verse, The sun moves to a resting-place for it, several decades before this totally unexpected discovery in astronomy, Said Nursi had written (Muhakemat (‘Reasonings’), Istanbul pp. 68-69):

As the word ‘moves’ points to a style, the phrase ‘in its course’ demonstrates a reality. The sun, like a vessel built of gold, travels and floats in the ocean of the heavens comprising ether and defined as a stretched and tightened wave. Although it quivers and shakes in its course or orbit, since people see it running, the Qur’an uses the word travel or float. However, since the origin of the force of gravity is movement, the sun moves and quivers in its orbit. Through this vibration, which is the wheel of its figurative movement, its satellites are attracted to it and preserved from falling and scattering. When a tree quivers, its fruits fall. But when the sun quivers and shakes, its fruits-its satellites-are preserved from falling.

Again, wisdom requires that the sun should move and travel on its mobile throne-its course or orbit-accompanied by its soldiers-its satellites. For the Divine Power has made everything moving and condemned nothing to absolute rest or motionlessness. Divine Mercy allows nothing to be condemned to inertia which is the cousin of death. So, the sun is free, it can travel provided it obeys the laws of God and does not disturb others’ freedom. So, it may actually be traveling, as its traveling may also be figurative. However, what is important according to the Qur’an is the universal order the wheel of which is the sun and its movement. Through the sun, the stability and orderliness of the system are ensured.

Actually the sun do catch up with the moon, it called Solar Eclipses

and for night to outstrip the day

yet another picture that night can outstrip the day

This proof Quran and hence Allah is false as he do not even understand his suppose creation.

and error in Quran did not rest, it just continue on ........

My dear distressed poet, no offense, but pahleeze, you are blabbering absolute nonsense.

Your intense romanticism, hyper-fiction, and sentimental metaphors are more suited to the solitary campfires of illiterate Bedouins (great people, btw).

Your entire love poetry is negated by one simple word, INERTIA
Do you know what it means?
Check it out, and then don't feel too embarrassed, we all make mistakes, usually in our early teens.
Or would you prefer to replace your word "inertia" with "acceleration", so that the Earth rotates around the Sun in seven minutes.

Conclusive proof that the Quran is a fraud. From a viewpoint outside the Earth, like Heaven, it would be very obvious that the Earth and Moon are rotating around the Sun. The only thing the Sun orbits is the galactic center.

What do you mean by sun and moon came out of earth?

BTW day outstrips night at dawn and night outstrips day at dusk. What is Allah talking about?

Quote:

.

What do you mean here?
Because the world is rounded even if the sun comes up in one place not everyone will see it at the same time?

People!!! People!!! Help me with the above verse pleeeeassseee??? Does it says or mean that the sun revolves around earth?

Let's not forget, when in doubt, turn to the hadiths for clarification

Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 421
Narrated Abu Dhar:
The Prophet asked me at sunset, "Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." He said, "It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted and then (a time will come when) it will be about to prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go on its course but it will not be permitted, but it will be ordered to return whence it has come and so it will rise in the west. And that is the interpretation of the Statement of Allah: "And the sun Runs its fixed course For a term (decreed). that is The Decree of (Allah) The Exalted in Might, The All-Knowing." (Q. 6: 3

Notice how this is a daily occurrence? Notice how the sun GOES somewhere? If this isn't a clear orbit around the earth, then I don't know what is. Submitter, I can't believe you would be stupid enough to raise one of the most clear embarrassments found in Islam.

What about areas in this planet where there is no daylight for months during winter, & daylight all throughout summer, does "miracle" Koran address this?

Try putting those errors at rest but you will never succeed. At the end of day you will be required to change the title of the thread as "Quran put to rest."

That certainly clears it up, in nice easy to understand terms. He had the perfect chance to vindicate the Quran by saying that it meant the earth revolves around the Sun. Instead, he spouted that bunch of crap proving conclusively that his "Allah" didn't know the first thing about the stars and planets he supposedly created.

Yes, I knew someone would bring this out.

First of all, I would like to say that the Prophet PBUH has been given limited knowledge of the Quran, so he doesnt know, for example, what it means when Allah says that plants were grown in pairs, or the development of the baby. There was a story when a man came to the Prophet PBUH, and asked told him a certain way of growing plants, and he asked him if he should do it, and the Prophet PBUH said "No, dont do it". Then sometime later, the man came up to him and said, "We have grown alot less fruit". THe Phrophet said "Do it the way you know how, I do not know anything. Im but a human bieng like yourselves." ANd another man came to him. He said how he does a certain surgery on people, the Prophet PBUH told him "If you know how to do it, then do it. I do not know everything." Lets look at some hadith:

This hadîth is found in Sahîh al-Bukhârî (3199, 7424). Its text, as related by Abû Dharr al-Ghifârî, is as follows:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me: “O Abû Dharr! Do you know where the Sun goes when it sets?”

I said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.”

He said: “IT GOES UNTIL IT PROSTRATES BENEATH THE THRONE. Then it seeks permission and permission is granted to it. Soon it will prostrate and it will not be accepted from it, and seek permission and will not be granted permission. It will be said to it: ‘Go back where you came from.’ Then it will rise from its setting place. This is Allah’s statement: ‘And the Sun runs on to its place of settlement. That is the determination of the Mighty the Knowing. [Sûrah YâSîn: 38]’.”

It is also found in Sahîh Muslim (159,205). Its text, as related by Abû Dharr al-Ghifârî, is as follows:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said one day: “Do you know where the Sun goes when it sets?”

They said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.”

He said: “It goes until it arrives at its place of settlement beneath the Throne. Then it falls down in prostration and remains like that until it is said to it: ‘Arise! Go back from whence you came.’ Then it goes back and rises from its place of rising. Then it goes until it arrives at its place of settlement beneath the Throne. Then it falls down in prostration and remains like that until it is said to it: ‘Arise! Go back from whence you came.’ Then it goes back and rises from its place of rising. Then it goes without people finding anything wrong with it until it arrives at that place of settlement it has beneath the throne. Then it will be told: ‘Arise! Enter upon the morning rising from your setting place’.”

Then Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “Do you know when that will be? It will be when ‘its faith will not avail a soul which had not believed before or earned some good from its faith. [Sûrah al-An`âm: 157]’.”

Notice, how the Prophet said something at the end were Allah told him to say when someone asked that question. Anyway, as you can see, the Prophet PBUH is praising Allah anyway he can. He never said it goes through the earth. He never said it goes under the earth. For all we know, the sun WILL move all the way underneath the throne, until the day of resurection, were it will go the opposite way, thus the earth rotating in a opposite orbit. So what did the Prophet go by? Lets take a look at the following verse:
Seest thou not that to God bow down in worship all things that are in the heavens and on earth,- the sun, the moon, the stars; the hills, the trees, the animals; and a great number among mankind? But a great number are (also) such as are fit for Punishment: and such as God shall disgrace,- None can raise to honour: for God carries out all that He wills. (The Noble Quran, 22:1"

"They say: "God hath begotten a son" :Glory be to Him.-Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: everything renders worship to Him. (The Noble Quran, 2:116)"

"To God do belong the unseen (secrets) of the heavens and the earth, and to Him goeth back every affair (for decision): then worship Him, and put thy trust in Him: and thy Lord is not unmindful of aught that ye do. (The Noble Quran, 11:123)"

So, he was going by the Quran, that the sun goes into prostration to him. Lets take a look at another hadith. The hadîth is also found in Sahîh al-Bukhârî in a highly abridged form (4803, 7433). Its text reads:

I asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) about Allah’s statement: “And the Sun runs on to its place of settlement... [Sûrah YâSîn: 38]”.

He said: “Its place of settlement is beneath the throne (of Allah Almighty).”

This hadith basically proves that Muhammed PBUH was going by the Quran, and was just praising Allah.

With that out of the way lets look at another verse saying the earth goes around the sun: 091.001
YUSUFALI: By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour;
PICKTHAL: By the sun and his brightness,
SHAKIR: I swear by the sun and its brilliance,

091.002
YUSUFALI: By the Moon as she follows him;
PICKTHAL: And the moon when she followeth him,
SHAKIR: And the moon when it follows the sun,

091.003
YUSUFALI: By the Day as it shows up (the Sun's) glory;
PICKTHAL: And the day when it revealeth him,
SHAKIR: And the day when it shows it,

091.004
YUSUFALI: By the Night as it conceals it;
PICKTHAL: And the night when it enshroudeth him,
SHAKIR: And the night when it draws a veil over it,

Wow, how could of Muhmmed PBUH knew that earth revolved around the sun? This verse is an amazing miracle.

Who is speaking here? It appears that Allah has demeaned himself by swearing by one of his creations. It is normal to swear by someone or something greater than oneself. Perhaps these are Muhammad`s words that have somehow crept into the Koran.

Can you explain to us who is saying those words?

What? Allah is saying these words, and hes swearing on its brilliance, the ability to give light to the whole earth in just 24 hours, and how big it is. Hes the creator, why cant he swear on his creation?

Hi Submitter,
