Targeted Actionable Monitoring Center (TAM-C) of the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response
Intent

To alert clients of the Targeted Actionable Monitoring Center of the continuing severe threat level to Western assets and personnel in the Pakistan region.

Threat Classification

SEVERE (Level 2) - available intelligence and recent events indicate that terrorists have an established capability and current intent to mount an attack on the target and there is some additional information on the nature of the threat. It is assessed that an attack on the target is a priority for the terrorists and is likely to be mounted.

Justification

TAM-C analysts and Ground Truth (tm) personnel have alerted clients through recent dispatches of the continuing threats to Western assets, and specifically Danish assets, in Pakistan. Adversary communications had identified that Denmark has relocated its personnel to an undisclosed location because of the numerous threats.

Today, an attack outside the Danish Embassy in Islamabad killed 3 and injured dozens on an apparent VBIED attack on the embassy.

Adversary communications state that this attack is the "first of many for anyone who hurts or insults Muhamed".

Conclusion

TAM-C analysts have relayed additional threats to project managers of clients in the region. It is expected that this may be a start of a wave of attacks against Western assets.

Timeline

Severe threat remains valid immediately until 24June2008.
