Honour killing: Suspect surrenders, ‘confident of acquittal’
MUZAFFARGARH:
Bachaya gave his arrest on Saturday after killing Alina* in an axe attack for alleged loose morals.
He told The Express Tribune that he was certain his brother-in-law would withdraw the case as it was a matter of family’s honour. “I have killed her because she brought disgrace to the family’s name,” Bachaya said.
“She had become a nuisance. I feel no remorse over my actions. I am backed by the family. They were in favour of my decision to kill her,” he said.
Bachaya said Alina* had eloped more than once with [different] men from the neighbourhood. On Saturday, he said, she had returned home after spending three days with a man.
Alina*, 25, was married to Muhammad Akhtar. The couple had three children.
Akhtar, who is the complainant in the FIR against Bachaya, told The Tribune that while he had filed a complaint in the matter he might withdraw it in a few days.
“I believe he (Bachaya) has not done wrong. Nothing is above honour,” he said. “I would have also taken similar action had my sister left her husband and eloped with someone else,” he said, “I filed the report so that the police are informed of the matter. I don’t plan on prosecuting him (Bachaya),” he said. He said he would soon inform the police in writing that he had pardoned the suspect.
“When she returned home on Saturday, I sat down with her and tried to make her realise the consequences of her actions but she kept straying from the topic,” he said.
Later, he said, Bachaya came over to his house on finding out that Alina* had returned. Following an argument, he said, Bachaya attacked Alina* with an axe, chopping both her legs. She died while she was being taken to hospital.
Rohilanwali SHO Waseem Leghari said the police had registered a case on the complaint of the deceased’s husband.
He said an autopsy had already been carried out and the body handed over to the family. He said the police would proceed in the matter in accordance with the law.

Me first trip to Pakistan was in the late 80s and I remember an incident that took place in the city of Abbotabad. A 25 year old muslim man was married off to a 10 year old girl according to islamic customs and the girls parents wanted the man not to have sex with her until she gets her 1st period. The man got annoyed and went to her home one day when the parents were out and took the girl to his place and slept with her. When the parents came looking for their daughter the man took an axe and settled the score by hacking both his parents-in-law to death.
And the Sharia courts in pakistan sided with him and set him free because pakistan was then ruled by an insane and fanatical muslim pariah dog named General Zia Ul Haq
And it makes me ill when i think how islam condones, justifies and actively encourages pedophilia.
As I always keep saying muslims suffer from a serious mental impediment known as islam .
When things like this happens, I have always shown sympathy; then the other side of me takes over. Good for those Muslims who do not see the handwriting on the wall. If a western journalist had put a question on sharia law before her death, she probably would have supported it. She probably would have said 'democracy go to hell'. well, this is sad news…both because of the murder of the girl and the the murder is "confident of acquittal." this is bad news. honor killings are not honorable in any way.
Where is the justice? I cannot believe that a man, father of three, would agree that his brother-in-law would kill the mother of his children with an axe. How is this possible, in the 21st century? I cannot believe my eyes.

Have you seen anybody doing that lately? Your concept of Christianity is unbelievably ignorant. Jesus forgave the woman at the well who had 5 different lovers, none her husband. Jesus stopped the stoning of a woman who was caught by the high and mighty religious town zealots in an act of adultery. He is neither a Christian or an adult. Lots of people, members of my own family included, honestly believe that they are Christians simply because they live in the West and have heard the story around Christmas and Easter of Jesus, even though both holidays actually have their roots in paganism. They don't know what they believe.
