Mr. Sina, you don’t exhibit the Qur’an like a scholarly person. So what influences the revelation of a particular verse? Why are certain topics favoured? why is there a fair bit of reference to war? And to
personal issues? The simple fact of the matter is: The early followers of the Prophet (The Sahaba) posed questions to the Prophet. Questions such as what should we do with the orphans? How do we deal with the following matter? How should we distribute our wealth? What are the laws for marriage and divorce? What are the limits of warfare? How do we control our people? How can we ensure the integrity of Islam? Other events would take place on Earth which would require a reassurance from God, a message, an instruction, a reminder that God is with the people. This is why the Quran begins many verses with “They question thee (O Muhammad) with regard to….” or “They ask you O’ Mohammed concerning the….” or “Your Lord has heard what they ask you….” These are in direct response to questions posed by the people around him.

Dear Mr. Mbamba Uswege, I am responding to your email on behalf of Dr. Sina
Muslims rehash what Muslim apologetics say. Yes indeed, many of the revelations support situations that Muhammad and the Muslims went through. We, at FFI, have always encouraged everyone to study the Qur’an and the reasons for its revelations. Many of those reasons show that Muhammad indeed established a gang of criminals who went on looting campaigns. Muhammad needed justifications for his crimes. So, his “Allah” was ready to give him all the support he needed. As an example, the Muslims first successful raid was the Nakhla raid. Muhammad sent a group of Muslims to attack and take over a Meccan commercial caravan. They were successful. However, the attack occurred during a holy month. You see, the Jahiliyya Arabs considered those holy months a sacred time, and they respected such time and did not attack other tribes during that time. Muhammad did not have such respect. When the news of the Nakhla raid came to him, he distanced himself from the attack first. However, the loot gains were attractive. So, Allah hurries with his revelations to tell Muhammad not to worry and take the loot. Here is the justifying verse:
Qur’an 2:217
YUSUFALI: They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: “Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its members.” Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you Turn back from their faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter; they will be companions of the Fire and will abide therein.
If you analyze this verse you can easily see Muhammad’s god in his service. The claim in the verse is that the Meccans did to him something that is worse than fighting in a holy month. What did the Meccans do? They did not allow him access to a Mosque in Mecca! Assuming that this was in fact the case, is that graver that attacking and looting a commercial caravan during holy months? Off course not. However, Muhammad needed justification for his action, and his Qur’anic revelations come in handy. Also, is “tumult and oppression worse than slaughter” as Muhammad claimed. Is not allowing Muhammad to go back to a specific mosque in Mecca worse than slaughter? According to the verse, it is. Do you know why? Because the leader of the Meccan commercial caravan was killed during the raid, and Muhammad needed justification for such a barbarity done by the Muslims during a holy time.
Yes indeed Mr. Mbamba, there are local situations that necessitated Muhammad’s “divine” revelations. One other situation that comes to mind is the time when Muhammad “married” his daughter in-law Zaynab bint Jahsh. Arabs saw that, and they did not like what they saw; an old guy lusting after his daughter in-law, making his son divorce her, and him marrying her. What an ugly state of affairs. You see, Arabs had a decent culture before Islam. They considered an adopted son like you own. What a great moral value. Muhammad saw that the Arabs around him did not like what he did with his son and his son’s wife, so Muhammad’s god, Allah, hurries with his revelations to justify such an immoral behavior. Allah tells Muhammad don’t you worry, Zayd is not really your son, and Zaynab is Halal for you. Here are the verses “revealed” on this occasion:
Qur’an 33:4
YUSUFALI: Allah has not made for any man two hearts in his (one) body: nor has He made your wives whom ye divorce by Zihar your mothers: nor has He made your adopted sons your sons. Such is (only) your (manner of) speech by your mouths. But Allah tells (you) the Truth, and He shows the (right) Way
Qur’an 33:36 (preparing the Muslim Umma to accept his ugly act as revealed in verse 37)
YUSUFALI: It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path.
Qur’an 33:37 (the ugly justifying verse for Muhammad’s marriage to Zaynab bint Jahsh)
YUSUFALI: Behold! Thou didst say to one who had received the grace of Allah and thy favour: “Retain thou (in wedlock) thy wife, and fear Allah.” But thou didst hide in thy heart that which Allah was about to make manifest: thou didst fear the people, but it is more fitting that thou shouldst fear Allah. Then when Zaid had dissolved (his marriage) with her, with the necessary (formality), We joined her in marriage to thee: in order that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the Believers in (the matter of) marriage with the wives of their adopted sons, when the latter have dissolved with the necessary (formality) (their marriage) with them. And Allah´s command must be fulfilled.
Then Muhammad ends the charade claiming that this is what his god, Allah, destined for him:
Qur’an 33:38
YUSUFALI : There can be no difficulty to the Prophet in what Allah has indicated to him as a duty. It was the practice (approved) of Allah amongst those of old that have passed away. And the command of Allah is a decree determined.
Back then, I am not sure if the Arabs accepted Muhammad’s justifying jargon. However, Ayesha – the mother of the Mo’mins – was able to read between the lines, and figured out what Muhammad is all about:

I felt jealous of the women who offered themselves to Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Then when Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, revealed this: ‘You may defer any one of them you wish, and take to yourself any you wish; and if you desire any you have set aside (no sin is chargeable to you)’ (xxxiii. 51), I (‘Aisha.) said: It seems to me that your Lord hastens to satisfy your desire.
Indeed, Muhammad’s god was his magic wand; always fulfilling when needed.
We at FFI encourage Muslims to read the Qur’an, the Hadith, and the Sirat. They need to read the Qur’an and read its Tafsirs like Ibn Kathir’s and Jalalyn’s. Muslims need to learn the reasons behind the revelations (Asbab Al Nizool). When ordinary Muslims start doing that, they will leave Islam en masse.
As to your note about the Qur’an references to war, this is due to the fact that Muhammad and the early Muslims were violent people. They wanted to attack other groups of people to rob them of their lives and belongings. So, Muhammad had to resort to “divine” revelations to organize his loots and robberies and crimes. Have you ever heard of a decent man, let alone a prophet of the almighty, making his living out of stealing other people’s belongings? Muhammad did. Economics and the organization of theft and gangster activities were at the heart of “how to” as regards the prophet of Islam. When, at a certain point of the battle of Uhud, Muslims thought they have won the day, they rushed down the hill competing for the loots. Because of that hasty greed, they lost that battle. Wikipedia Uhud information is probably written by a Muslim. However, we read this in it:
.. the Muslims pierced through the Meccan lines, with victory appearing certain. However, it was the detachment of the Muslim archers, disobeying Muhammad’s strict orders to remain stationary, that would shift the outcome of the battle, as they ran downhill to join in the advance and despoil the Meccan camp, leaving the flank vulnerable
This early rush for the spoils shows that the economic factor was a major influence on the early Muslims lives. Those guys did not join Muhammad because of his good looks! Or because of his “divine” revelations.
It is my belief that when Muslims start reading the Qur’an and understand its teachings within the context of the “revelation” itself, Muslims will leave Islam without looking back.

Islam says that mankind was created so that Allah would have someone to worship him. That is our role in the Cosmos.
Allah wants all of humanity on their hands and knees, in perfect unison, kissing the ground at his feet, all at the same time, in one giant act of abasement, repeat every few hours in a mind numbing trance. It's an image of Cosmic Slavery. Truly they are "slaves to Allah."
In the Western view, God's gift to us is freedom and "life more abundant" (quote by Jesus).
He did not create us not to have worshipers. He created us to be the receivers His love and his abundance. He needs somewhere to put His love and his life-giving power. That's us. God is a giver not a taker. Life flows from Him outward. He has no need, except a place to put his life and love. God is not the Egomaniac known as Allah.

Indeed in the case of Christ, you can see Godly words revealed. Had i not been an atheist, I think Christianity would have been my choice
even as an atheist, if you are living with goodness and love towards others —> you are living as a true christian —> according to Christianity you'll be in heaven (Jesus said you love me/god by loving your neighbor/others) —> according to Christianity whether you believe in god or not you have nothing to worry about (now or in the afterlife) if you lead a good life on earth.
PS: whoever tells you otherwise like that you'll go to hell should read the bible first and i'll guarantee that he'll find out that getting to hell (which isn't an actual place) is a lot harder than getting to heaven
This Tolerance that is preached in Christianity is in sharp contrast with what Islam teaches… As an Ex-Muslim, I can confirm that…

Our roles in life are NOT predetermined by God. Our FREEDOM is given to us by God. He wants each one of us to be as much of a Man or Woman as we can become. In turn, our love and thanks for God lead us to serve Him in a life of virtue. So in the West, virtue is a response from gratitude, not an act of terror.
Allah tells us what our role will be, what men will be, what women will be. Allah is a totalitarian dictator. The Koran is a "perfect guide" for humans, because it dictates every detail of our life. Allah is the ultimate nosey neighbour. He says what is a good function for men and what is a good function for women. We are meant only to FUNCTION , like robots in a zoo. This is not freedom.
The Christian God gives freedom. In gratitude we are free to grow into our own unique personality. We seek to live more fully, because that is why He created us, to receive life. God does not tell us what role to live. He tells us to love Him, love others, and live.
God therefore joys in all arts and music and celebration and beauty. But Allah shuts them down or covers them up because they compete with him.
Islam tells us what men will do and what women will do. It says that men will plow the field and women will bear the fruit. This is wrong.
Men do not own their wives/fields. Women are more than mother roles.
"And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed."
"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the Church, and gave up his life for her."

The first is in Genesis the other is in Revelation.
The Biblical view of men and women is one of a PARTNERSHIP OF EQUALS.
In other words, God made Adam and Eve. He did not make Adam and Eve, Cindy, Bessy and Prue.
Polygamy is NOT this kind of union.
Polygamy is a form of male worship, very typical of Islamic cultures unfortunately, in which one Big Shot thinks he's so important that he need a crew of fawning women to admire his greatness and bear his brats. It is culturally FAR INFERIOR to monogamy.
The culture of polygamy has NO ROOM for the kind of poetry and depth in the Christian symbolism of marriage. Polygamy is an utterly degraded form of existence, unfit for human beings.
In the culture of the West, woman have always been admired. But Islam covers them up so that they won’t outshine the men.

Islam cannot come any close to the beauty of this teaching. Muslims worship Muhammad thinking they worship Allah.
Worshipping Allah is bad enough, a pagan moon god ! True Christianity, following only the Words of Jesus and his true followers is beautiful and I cannot understand anyone not agreeing ! Jesus Himself was kind, merciful & forgiving and expects us to be too as hard as it is for mere humans, he promised to help us if we trust in Him alone. I have a lovely buddhist friend who even cries as so touched, when I mention Jesus. Unlike Muslims , who only cry with joy when "infidels" are massacred.
I challenge the Muslims to present one Sura like unto these. There is no Sura with one one hundredth part of the beauty of these Chapters. Present your Suras and we will judge between them.
Come to think of it, I think that – in a way – MUSLIMS have won the "YOU CANNOT PRODUCE A VERSE LIKE IT" challenge: it is true that no body can produce a Sura as ugly and hateful as the Verse of the Sword, or the ones that incite hating the unbelievers, killing them, and describing them as the fuel of fire in the eternal Hell; not to mention the wife beating verse, and the one ordering to cut the hands of the petty thieves… Good job Mo, you won the challenge because your book is as ugly as it gets… and no one could produce an uglier one…

Muslims commit SHIRK because they put faith in mohamhead and the krap on par with faith in God.
Faith in mohamhead and the krap are REQUIRED for salvation. That is SHIRK.
THAT IS FOURTEEN HUNDRED YEARS OF SHIRK AND THE WRATH OF GOD WILL COME UPON THE MUSLIMS FOR THIS.
God is not mocked. The muslims are in a lot of trouble.
Why is belief in Mohamad required for salvation? Why can't we believe in Allah alone?
Why do you make an idol out of Mohammad? Why do you worship the ground he walks on? Why is it blasphemy to insult him?
Why do you worship the Koran? It is only paper and ink. There are other copies of God's word. Why is it a sacred object?
The Koran did not create you, why do you worship it?
WHY DO YOU COMMIT SHIRK ALL THE TIME???
Muslims commit BLASPHEMY because they say that Almighty God cannot take on human form in accordance with His Will. They are putting LIMITS on the Omnipotent God.
The Wrath of God will fall upon muslims for this. God will fry them for their BLASPHEMY.
Why can't the Almighty take on human form if He so wills it? Why do you put limits on the Almighty?
Let's say that the Creator wills to take on human form. What's stopping Him?
Where are the other 123,965 missing prophets of Islam? Where are their Korans and their Mosks?
Surely there IS SO a people to whom Allah has not sent a prophet.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Among all brain DEAD Muslims, Muslimas are the biggest collateral damaged ones… They have been taught to accept being inferior to men, submit to their husbands in all aspects, receive half the inheritance their brothers receive, share their husband with more than one woman, accept husbands' beatings and abuses, go through female genital mutilation, thank Allah and Mo for all the above, and last but not least, suffocate inside a sinister tent with two (and in some cases ONE) tiny hole through which they could hardly see all their lives.

Just wonder how Muslims read these personal and selfish verses and remain loyal to Muhammad. Muhammad even married more wives (nine) than the number (four) allowed for muslims which Koran 33 verse 51 justified and categorically says only for himself. To date, Muhammad's marriage to Zainab and its ignoble justification by the Koran remains despicable. Fortunately, this conundrum begun to open my eyes to see Muhammad for what he was(is): an incorrigible charlatan.

Jihad (holy fighting in God’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims), though you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. But God knows, and you know not.
The first mistake in this translation is that this Qur’anic verse actually does not use the word “Jihad”. This verse actually uses the word “Qitaal”, which refers to physical fighting. Fighting is ordained for Muslims in order to defend themselves and their rights, as well as the rights of others. The obligation to physically defend one’s rights, and to establish justice was elaborated on in the previously mentioned article on Jihad. It is sufficient to quote a verse from the Qur’an in this regard:
4:75 And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allah, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help.”
It is most certainly a duty of all human beings to help each other from oppression and injustice. This is what Islam teaches. Commenting on verse 2:216, Abdullah Yusuf Ali writes:
To fight in the cause of Truth is one of the highest forms of charity. What can you offer that is more precious than your own life? But here again the limitations come in. Therefore, the fighting ordained by God in the Qur’an is the fighting to establish justice and security in the land, and this is a duty upon all human beings. We will always hope for peace, but we must realize that without justice, freedom, rights and equity, peace will never be able to survive. Likewise, on verse 2:216, Abdul Majid Daryabadi writes:

Islam has designated war as the last resort and only in cases of sheer necessity, in order for us to defend the rights of ourselves and others. Also, the picture becomes even more clear when we take into consideration the historical context of the revelation. Abdullah Yusuf Ali goes on to explain the historical context in his commentary on verse 2:217:
The intolerance and persecution of the Pagan clique at Mecca caused untold hardships to the holy Messenger of Islam and his early disciples. They bore all with meekness and long-suffering patience until the holy one permitted them to take up arms in self-defence? (Yusuf Ali, The Holy Qur’an, Text, Translation and Commentary )
In light of the above quote, it becomes apparent that fighting has been especially ordained in conditions of severe persecution and hardship. Consequently, the Muslims are required to defend themselves from oppression and establish justice. To abstain from helping those under oppression is cowardice. Abdul Majid Daryabadi also explains the historical context of the verse:
Persecuted, harassed, afflicted, poverty-ridden, exiled, and small in number as the Muslims were at the time of the enactment of warfare, it was but natural that they were none too fond of crossing swords with the mighty forces that had conspired for their extirpation. Nothing short of express and emphatic Divine Command could urge them on to the field of battle [in order to defend their rights]. And yet the Islamic jihads are declared to be ‘designed by the Prophet to satisfy his discontented adherents by an accession of plunder!’ (Margoliouth). Such is this European scholar’s love of veracity! Such is his wonderful reading of history! (Daryabadi, The Glorious Qur’an)
The commentary on this verse makes it very clear that Muslims have always understood this verse as the legal right to defend one’s rights from the forces of oppression, but never to transgress limits in defence.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said that a person who cares for an orphaned child will be in Paradise with him, and motioned to show that they would be as close as two fingers of a single hand. An orphan himself, Muhammad paid special attention to the care of children. He himself adopted a former slave and raised him with the same care as if he were his own son.
However, the Qur'an gives specific rules about the legal relationship between a child and his/her adoptive family. The child's biological family is never hidden; their ties to the child are never severed. The Qur'an specifically reminds adoptive parents that they are not the child's biological parents:
"…Nor has He made your adopted sons your (biological) sons. Such is (only) your (manner of) speech by your mouths. But Allah tells (you) the Truth, and He shows the (right) Way. Call them by (the names of) their fathers; that is juster in the sight of Allah. But if you know not their father's (names, call them) your brothers in faith, or your trustees. But there is no blame on you if you make a mistake therein. (What counts is) the intention of your hearts. And Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful."

The guardian/child relationship has specific rules under Islamic law, which render the relationship a bit different than what is common adoption practice today. The Islamic term for what is commonly called adoption is kafala, which comes from a word that means "to feed." In essence, it describes more of a foster-parent relationship. Some of the rules in Islam surrounding this relationship:
An adopted child retains his or her own biological family name (surname) and does not change his or her name to match that of the adoptive family.
An adopted child inherits from his or her biological parents, not automatically from the adoptive parents.
When the child is grown, members of the adoptive family are not considered blood relatives, and are therefore not muhrim to him or her. "Muhrim" refers to a specific legal relationship that regulates marriage and other aspects of life. Essentially, members of the adoptive family would be permissible as possible marriage partners, and rules of modesty exist between the grown child and adoptive family members of the opposite sex.
If the child is provided with property/wealth from the biological family, adoptive parents are commanded to take care and not intermingle that property/wealth with their own. They serve merely as trustees.

Is it true that the prophet (pbuh) had fallen in love with Zainab due to her beauty?
If that were true it would not detract from the veracity of the prophet. Muslims admit that he was a human being. It is not unnatural for a man to fall in love. The fact that he is a prophet does not rob him of his natural human emotions. In fact it is true that he loved his wives.
However, it is not true that he fell in love with Zainab in the way that is claimed by some critics. They say that once the prophet visited Zaid, the husband of Zainab. Zaid was out at the time, and Zainab was combing her hair. The prophet was struck by her beauty and immediately left saying something to the effect that God changes the hearts of people. When Zaid learnt about this incident he offered the prophet that he would divorce Zainab in order that the prophet may marry her. Accordingly, he divorced her and the prophet married her.
Several things point to the lack of truth in this story. First, it is unlikely that the prophet (pbuh) was suddenly struck by Zainab's beauty. Zainab was his cousin. He had known her since childhood. Why would she suddenly appear striking after she was already married to another?
Second, the prophet had arranged for her to get married to Zaid. If there was to be an attraction why did the prophet (pbuh) not encourage her to marry none but himself?
Third, the fact of the matter was that Zaid's marriage proved to be an unhappy one. Zaid was a former slave and as such was held in low esteem in the eyes of Zainab. He mentioned to the prophet that he intended to divorce his wife. But the prophet advised him to keep his wife and avoid divorce.
In the meantime, Zaid intended to divorce his wife, Allah intended to marry her to the prophet. Eventually Zaid could maintain his marriage no longer. He divorced Zainab and Allah declared in his Glorious Book that he has wedded her to the prophet after the proper waiting period was over.
This marriage served more than one purpose. First, the prophet was responsible for arranging Zainab's marriage to Zaid. In a sense, then, he was also indirectly responsible for the unhappiness she felt in her marriage. Her marriage to the prophet now provided her the honour she felt she deserved, and exonerated the prophet.
Second, Zaid had been adopted as the prophet's son. Eventually, however, the Qur'an prohibited the practice of changing the parental identity of adopted persons. Zaid, then, was to no longer be called "son of Muhammad" but rather "a close friend." The prophet's marriage to the divorced wife of Zaid was a practical demonstration that the adopted relationship was not equal to a real blood-relationship. A man cannot marry the divorced wife of his real son but he can marry the divorced wife of his adopted son.
The abolishment of the age-old practice was a positive improvement for the adopted persons. People outside of Islam still continue this practice for their own benefit. They adopt children and rob them of their real identify, making them believe they are real children of the household in which they grow up. When such children realize the truth they suffer much disappointment and grief. The adoptive process continues for the selfish gain of the adoptive parents.
But is it not true that children sometimes need adoptive parents? Yes. But they also need to preserve their real identify. This is what Islam ensures. It is the responsibility of the entire community to help children in need. They should be taken in and nurtured but not confused with one's own children.
The prophet's marriage to Zainab was a bold measure to forever engrave in the minds of his followers that as much as people would resist change, some changes are worth the effort. Adoptive children should no longer be robbed of their real identities.

The following Saying is a description for the Noble Verse:
Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: "I felt jealous of the women who offered themselves to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Then when Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, revealed this: 'You may defer any one of them you wish, and take to yourself any you wish; and if you desire any you have set aside (no sin is chargeable to you)' (xxxiii. 51), I ('Aisha.) said: It seems to me that your Lord hastens to satisfy your desire. (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Book 008, Number 3453)"
As we clearly see from the Noble Verse and the Narration of our beloved Prophet's wife, Aisha, may Allah Almighty be pleased with her, our Prophet did not seek women. They used to come to offer themselves to him for marriage. Allah Almighty wanted to make it more comfortable for our Prophet by allowing him to choose only the ones that he desired for marriage.
But the point of our Prophet peace be upon him seeking women and divorcing women as he pleased for his own sexual desire is a complete hoax.
Another false criticism against our beloved Prophet peace be upon him is in this narration:
Narrated 'Abdul 'Aziz: "Anas said, 'When Allah's Apostle invaded Khaibar, we offered the Fajr prayer there yearly in the morning) when it was still dark. The Prophet rode and Abu Talha rode too and I was riding behind Abu Talha. The Prophet passed through the lane of Khaibar quickly and my knee was touching the thigh of the Prophet . He uncovered his thigh and I saw the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet. When he entered the town, he said, 'Allahu Akbar! Khaibar is ruined. Whenever we approach near a (hostile) nation (to fight) then evil will be the morning of those who have been warned.' He repeated this thrice. The people came out for their jobs and some of them said, 'Muhammad (has come).' (Some of our companions added, "With his army.") We conquered Khaibar, took the captives, and the booty was collected. Dihya came and said, 'O Allah's Prophet! Give me a slave girl from the captives.' The Prophet said, 'Go and take any slave girl.' He took Safiya bint Huyai. A man came to the Prophet and said, 'O Allah's Apostles! You gave Safiya bint Huyai to Dihya and she is the chief mistress of the tribes of Quraiza and An-Nadir and she befits none but you.' So the Prophet said, 'Bring him along with her.' So Dihya came with her and when the Prophet saw her, he said to Dihya, 'Take any slave girl other than her from the captives.' Anas added: The Prophet then manumitted her and married her."
Thabit asked Anas, "O Abu Hamza! What did the Prophet pay her (as Mahr)?" He said, "Her self was her Mahr for he manumitted her and then married her." Anas added, "While on the way, Um Sulaim dressed her for marriage (ceremony) and at night she sent her as a bride to the Prophet . So the Prophet was a bridegroom and he said, 'Whoever has anything (food) should bring it.' He spread out a leather sheet (for the food) and some brought dates and others cooking butter. (I think he (Anas) mentioned As-SawTq). So they prepared a dish of Hais (a kind of meal). And that was Walrma (the marriage banquet) of Allah's Apostle." (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Prayers (Salat), Volume 1, Book 8, Number 367)"
In this narration, we clearly see that our beloved Prophet peace be upon him:
1- Had the opportunity to keep the woman, Safiya bint Huyai, as a slave, but instead, he honored her, manumitted her, and married her, and she became his honorable wife instead of his slave.
2- Safiya bint Huyai was chief mistress of the tribes of Quraiza and An-Nadir.

Delhi court asks police to investigate Islamist website
New Delhi, Feb 22 (IANS)
The Delhi High Court Wednesday sought a status report from the Delhi Police commissioner on a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking a ban on a Islamist website as it allegedly threatened communal harmony in India.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice A.K. Sikri and Justice Rajiv Shah Endlaw directed police chief to submit the report on website http://www.shariah4hind.com within a week.
The PIL filed by Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, president of the Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena, alleged that the website brings constitution of India and its secular feature into disrespect and disrepute.
"Extreme Islamic groups are planning to organise a huge rally in Delhi propagating Islamisation of Indian subcontinent and enforcement of Shariah law all over India and hence this may result into communal clashes and disruption of public peace and order in State of Delhi and other parts of India," the petition said.
It sought the court's direction for the central and Delhi government to conduct detailed inquiry into the claims of Shariah4hind that a public rally shall be organized in Delhi March 3.
Appearing for Bagga, advocate Vikas Padora also sought the central and state governments be directed to include the group into the list of banned organisations, "as the group works against the integrity and sovereignty of India".

9:73 SAYS ABOUT THE HYPOCRITES :
A hypocrite in Islam is one who saw Islam; accepted its principles; embraced it; went along with it, but when his life style and preferences were challenged, Islam had failed with him. He knowingly wouldn't follow Islam because it would violate a certain life style that he adopted, ego, or standard that is too important to him, even though it directly violates Islam.
The difference between a hypocrite and a normal Muslim who sins, is that a hypocrite adopts an unacceptable life style and actions, and insists on following it, while a normal Muslim knows that he is wrong, tries to resist doing sins, but unfortunately sometimes, he still falls into sinning due to immaturity or physical weaknesses.
In a nut shell, this is what a hypocrite is in Islam. A hypocrite is a "Muslim". He is not an apostate (murtadd), nor is he a polytheist or idol worshiper (mushrik), nor is he an atheist (mulhid). A hypocrite does declare Islam as his religion, and in some cases even prays to GOD Almighty and fasts the month of Ramadan. Not everyone who Prays to Allah Almighty, however, is a good Muslim. Allah Almighty said:
"So woe to the worshipers Who are neglectful Of their Prayers, Those who (want but) To be seen (of men), But refuse (to supply) (Even) neighbourly needs. (The Noble Quran, 107:4-7)"
"The Hypocrites – they think they are over-reaching God, but He will over-reach them: When they stand up to prayer, they stand without earnestness, to be seen of men, but little do they hold God in remembrance; (The Noble Quran, 4:142)"
Those who are neglectful of their Prayers that are considered as hypocrites are ones who pray to only gain recognition by men, and refuse to do good. They do not connect spiritually with Allah Almighty when they pray 5 times every day, because the sole purpose of Praying in Islam is to Worship Allah Almighty alone throughout the day, and to constantly stay focused and purified from sins.
Hypocrites are obviously not purified nor cleansed from sins, even if they pray. That is why Allah Almighty cursed them, because they are spiritually "neglectful" of their Prayers.
Very Important Note: While Allah Almighty will still punish even the sincere Muslims who neglect their Prayers out of physical laziness, but these Muslims by far are never considered hypocrites. There is a difference between a hypocrite who wants to be seen by men and gain worldly recognition through his prayer, and one who is physically lazy, but yet, is still a very good and sincere Muslim who tries his/her best to please Allah Almighty in his actions and life style. Allah Almighty also said:
"The Hypocrites, men and women, (have an understanding) with each other: They enjoin evil, and forbid what is just, and are close with their hands. They have forgotten God; so He hath forgotten them. Verily the Hypocrites are rebellious and perverse. (The Noble Quran, 9:67)"
So as we can see, the hypocrites enjoin evil and forbid what is just. Sincere Muslims, even if they don't Pray regularly (5 times everyday), don't fall into that category, because their daily actions and life style are far from enjoining evil and forbidding what is just.
LYING AGAIN
And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. Allah named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.(22:78)
