One common thing I have observed among practising Muslims is that they are traumatized by hell-fire syndrome. I agree. I am pleased to know that you and I share the idea of debating without hurling abuses and throwing hissy fits.

Unfortunately I think your words would be of more benefit to people who call themselves Muslim but have no scruples or problems in abusing people in general with the most vulgar, gross, and shocking language. In my book, these people can not be muslims. Discussing interfaith should be done with using solid argumentation. However when slanders and abuses people (non-muslims) in such a derogatory manner, that one must question, why they feel so threatened and why they can not simply argue in a calm and rational manner explaining why they disagree and how they see things.

Instead we get long hysterical and abusive rantings on hinduism and indians (?? is there some special problem between muslims and hindus that the world does not know of? jews tend to be erceived as the enemy usually) or that all non-muslims are born bastards (appearently there is some unspecified statistics supporting that and the claim that all non-muslims do not know who their father is - yes somebody is actually claiming that in a different but recent thread on here (aptly named "logical fallacies" and is surprised why nobody wants to answer him). Islamic sources cited to prove that slander is wrong and unislamic are blatantly ignored and personal perverted preferences (to slander, curse and abuse) are put first. A Muslim is somebody who does the opposite - namely puts Islamic teachings first and personal preferences second. Or else there is little reason to be a Muslim and submit to Allah.

If God punished anyone or anything, God would be punishing God! If you were God would you punish yourself? If so, how should you be addressed? As, "Oh, my God....the idiot?" There is NO punishment! The spirit (note Spirit referring to God is capitalized, denoting the difference between the Supreme Consciousness and one of its parts, the human spirit) enters the unison of egg and sperm (that is, at conception) and directs the development of the fetus. I am, at present , reading Michio Kaku's book, "Visions" whereing he claims (page 16) that - "Robots may gradually attain a degree of "self-awareness" and consciousnessof their own". These physicists think that the brain is consciousness. They're wrong! The brain is only the tool of consciousness! I can prove this by proving each of us is a spirit which is a part of the Supreme Consciousness which is Jesus' God, a Spirit!

Think of something that made you unhappy. That done, next think of something that made you happy. The brain has replaced an unhappy thought with a happy thought. But, who is instructing the brain to make the change? That is YOU, a spirit that refers to itself by the same name, I or Me, and not by the identifying name for your body given to you by your parents. Jesus said, "I am the way, the life and the truth; no man cometh unto the Father except by me". Not by Jesus, but by realizing that this I (you) is a spirit which is a part of God, a Spirit, the Great Universal Spirit or Supreme Consciousness!

I find it so strange and depressing when apparently educated Christians post comments similar to those posted by fanatic Muslims. And there are so many of them that it seems difficult to treat them as exceptions.
1. It seems such a hypocrisy when Muhammad is berated for marrying a nine year old girl. We should keep in mind that even today, the age of consent is as low as 14 in Germany, Austria, Croatia, Bulgaria and so many other Civilised countries. It is 15 in France. It was twelve until the late nineteenth century in England, while ages from 10 to 13 were typically acceptable in western countries during the mid-19th century (Waites, Matthew (2005). The Age of Consent: Young People, Sexuality and Citizenship. Palgrave Macmillan). Now why would you be so touchy about Muhammad if he married a nine year old 1300 years prior to all this.
2. Ayesha was born three years before Muhammad received his first message from God. She was married after after Hijra. That makes her at least 17 years old at the time of marriage. All the racket about being 6 or 9 year old at the time of marriage is based upon the narration of a single unreliable historian who recorded his text 190 years after the incident took place and who has been quoted ad nauseum.

I am not sure, what single unreliable historian, you are referring to. The hadith compilers and the sahaba (the prophets companions) and their descendents enjoy great status and reliability among muslims. The scholars have attached great importance to the narrations (hadith) classifying them as strong and absolute reliable.

So you are saying the entire volumes of Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim (just to mention the two most reliable and authentic of sources) are flawed? So not only should the age of Aisha be doubted but as should the other messages in these hadiths (ranging from prayer, compulsory male Muslim guardians for Muslim female virgins at marriage etc).

That would not only make the majority of the present day sharia system crumble to the ground, but would cause outrage in the Muslim world. According to these reliable narrations, Aisha was 6 upon marriage, 9 at time of consummation. These is evident from at least two reliable hadith collections and numerous hadiths in those collections.

When you say "unreliable", my understanding is, that you hold some narrations to be reliable. So you are not rejecting hadiths altogether then.

I was not aware of the legal ages being so low in the countries mentioned.
