Yemen president blames Shiite rebels for new violence

SANAA — Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Monday blamed Shiite rebels for a flare-up of violence in the northern Saada region, including attacks on civilians and government forces.
During a meeting with security officials, Saleh, quoted by official media, spoke of the "saboteurs and rebels of Saada" -- a reference to Zaidi rebels who have been caught up in decades of deadly fighting with government forces. ...More...
