Why I Left Islam

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly versionSend to friendSend to friendPDF versionPDF versionParviz [ One of our editors sent a request to our FFI reader, Mr. Parviz, asking him to tell us how and why he left Islam. We would like to thank Mr. Parviz for his positive response, and would like to share his story with our readers. Below is a copy of his response email to us ] As you may have noticed I often write in the commentary sections of your web site in a style that speaks to the Muslim community in a more gentle way, yet exposing the horrors of Islam. I write as if to a segment of their population who are very sensitive and sophisticated. I try to appeal to the 'heart' more so than to the 'intellect'. I guess that is because of my Christian way of thinking, rather than an atheistic point of view (One deals with the heart, the other with the mind and intellect) . I will be happy to write a short piece as why I left Islam. Of course, when I left was a time way way before all these killings, bombings and violence. The Shah of Iran was so respected and well received in Europe and America that Islam didn't seem to be an issue, a threat to the western civilization. And the Arabs were not as rich to cause havoc ( oil prices were low, a few dollars a barrel ). It was sometime in the late 50's, I want to say 1958 when I left Islam. I left because the writings of Qur'an just didn't make sense to me. The more I tried to understand, the more confusing it became. And my logic told me ' how can you follow something which your eternal life may depend on, IF the whole thing is so blatantly foolish '. Then as a very young man, I decided to look into how, why, by whom and when this book was written. In those days nobody had heard of google and computer !! There were no such luxuries as we have today, there was no Ali Sina and FFI. So, as a 14-15 years old boy, while some of my classmates were dancing to the music of Elvis Priestly , I spent my spare time in the University of Birmingham's library researching to find out why, why, and why I should say, " I am a Muslim !! ". I guess I was always a book-worm ! Anyway, the information I dug up shocked me. It shocked me to find out that when Muhammad supposedly received the first verses of Qur'an in a cave, he came home to his wife, shaking and shivering and telling her that Satan had visited him and given him these verses. Even to a 14-15 year old boy, this statement would have discredited the rest of Qur'an in its entirety. That night I could not sleep, as if a nightmare had come over me. How can some thing as Qur'an, claimed to be from god and Muhammad's miracle, be delivered by Satan ? In which case, I questioned, are Muslims, my parents and relatives, satan worshippers ? To a person who is concerned about his eternity and that of those he loves these are profound questions that require serious answers. This led me to ask ' what is the purpose of Qur'an, why was this book given to the Arabs, and then to over a billion people? I could not find an answer to this question. It certainly did not teach people to be better human beings. It did not teach decency, justice, peace, holiness, love for one another, joy, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, or self-control. In fact during my search I found that Muhammad exhibited terrible qualities. He showed sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissension, factions and envy, orgies and the likes. After such discoveries I had no trouble what so ever to leave Muhammad and his damned and tormented teachings behind, and from there on I slept soundly, with a happy disposition and clear conscious. Dear editor, I had meant to write you a simple note, and yet it turned out longer than I expected, and please, if you see this fit, you can call it my testimony and publish it. With thanks and gratitude, Parviz

Dear Parviz, Please can you

Dear Parviz,

Please can you tell me the book that says Satan revealed Quran to Muhammad (PBUH) and the Muslims are satan worshippers?

You don't follow Islam that is purely your personal decision and you have a complete right to follow your own heart as Quran says there is no compulsion in religion.

All the best!
Imran

Dear Imran, Before you use

Dear Imran,

Before you use some Meccan Islamic Jargon abrogated by the verse of the sword, please read this:

http://www.faithfreedom.org/2009/06/11/apostasy-in-islam/

In Islam there is no choice of religion. Punishment is death. Why do you think Rifqa Bary is so afraid of if she is forced to go back and live with her parents.

Imran, you know full well you are lying. Whay are you doing that?

Please read my article in the above link provided, and then tell me that there is no compulsion of religion in Isalm.

Have a blessed day brother

Nice and simple testimony.

Nice and simple testimony. Although there are thousands of barbaric and absurd things are there in Islam, but a person of high morality and open mind can get the clue quickly and leave this insane cult.
Muslims are mental patients, unfortunately the muslims kill the doctors (ex-muslims), instead of listening them and getting cured.
After learning about the heroic resistance of Arabs to muhammed and his lunancy , I hope arabs will lead the way and leave Islam, even though a shame will linger for sometime that such a criminal muhammed came from arabs and wanted to destroy humanity. Even though Hitler was german, but now germans have earned there respect by being very peaceful and creating a wonderful living standard with a great democracy.

Parviz and others, The

Parviz and others,

The issue is not that Muhammad received messages from Satan or not.

The issue is that HE WAS UNABLE TO DISTINGUISH between the message from what he though was God and from what he thought was Satan.

Muhammad indeed confessed that SOME of his messages were from Satan.

This is one of the arguments people use when refuting his prophethood.....

Dear Imran, Thank you for

Dear Imran,

Thank you for your comment. Muhammad used to go in caves on Mount Hira outside Mecca for meditation and quietude. One day, when he supposedly had received his first revelations he returned home in consternation , for he had encountered a supernatural being in a dream.
Fearing he might be possessed by an evil spirit or starting on the path to becoming a despised soothsayer, he sought assurance from both his wife and his close cousin Waraq. After supposedly reciting what this evil spirit had told him several times with trembling heart to Khadije, he said to her, " Wrap me up, wrap me up " . And they wrapped him up in a garment till his fear was dispelled. At this time Muhammad had told Khadije that he was afraid that he was going to die. his wife assured him this will not be. Also, when Muhammad hadn't received any revelation for a while he had contemplated suicide by throwing himself off a cliff.

Now Mr. Imran, is it reasonable for you and I, and our other Muslim friends, to put our trust in someone who couldn't distinguish between God's spirit and evil spirits ? And to have need for other peoples assurance as who was talking to him. Would any other " holy " person, one who would supposedly be savior of humanity, contemplate suicide ? He was supposed to save the mankind , how could he do that if he killed himself ?

You see where my difficulty is. I am very sympathetic with my muslim friends, and believe me I wish these facts were not true, but as they are, how can we close our eyes and pretend that none of these problems exist with the transmission, the person who transmitted and the content and doctrine of Islam as written in Quran and Hadith.

I hope that I have adequately responded to your questions, and if I have not, am sure that many others on this site, with wisdom and knowledge that surpasses mine will illuminate our minds.

With my thanks,

Respectfully,

Parviz

Here are 7 qualities that Allah shares with Satan:

4.Allah is the Humiliator (al-Mudhill)

Mr. pervez,
you are just an ignorant apostate who has confirmed hell for him, i am unable to understand which reference you read about that first verse incident. It was not the Satan but a Holy Angel sent from Merciful Allah. you were in a non-Muslim country and you definitely took a reference from their research book,
Further more, before talking about Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) and Holy Book Of Merciful Allah, you must admit the fact that As Allah claims to preserve this Holy Book, it is as the same as it was 1400 years back. select one Hafiz (a man who learns Holy Quran by heart) from either side of the entire world, and select one from the other, say them read randomly, there will be not a single mistake in the text. this is the authenticity of this Holy Book.
furthermore, you said you have been practicing as christian, don't you follow your sacred Book, is your life not dependent on its rules? does this Book not testify a Prophet coming later named as Ahmed?
Do read the book ' Hundred Great men in history, written by a christian, on first rank Stands Muhammad (P.B.U.H), and even million of references by many non-Muslims for the politeness and justice of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H).
you may be an ambassador of Christianity, no problem about your views, every individual is free, but be realistic,
if you want to compare Islam and Christianity, do watch videos on ' Dr Zakir Naik Vs William cambell and Arab Missionary Ruknu din, then you will come to know the reality.
