An Introduction To Authoring On FFI

Introduction

Writing articles for online publication is different from authoring for other types of media. Although articles published online may resemble print media, like newspapers and magazines, there are many significant differences. For example, you have much less control over the formatting and layout of your online article than you do in printed media. This is mainly because these details are controlled by the user's browser and display settings.

On the other hand, you also have capabilities you would not have in printed media, such as the ability to provide direct links to referenced material, and a virtually unlimited page length.

This series of articles will introduce you to the online publication process, and specifically how this process works with the PostNuke system at FFI.

The articles in this series are designed to present various aspects of the online publishing process, such as authoring your article, various methods of formatting your article, and how to submit your article for publication. We encourage you to read each article in the series. If you like, you can keep an article open in a new browser window to use for reference while you author and submit your article.
