Vote NO to an Islamic Day in Hawaii

They should pass a legislation to remember it as a Day to "Remember for Islam's crimes against the Humanity." The day should be 9/11 and not 9/24.

Islam did not bring in any scientific or cultural revolution. In fact, people who were already expert in art, science, sculpture, and medicine were forced to accept Islam. In other words, Islam stamped on anything good that was already existing. It is similar with Christianity as well. The western world came out of the "DARK AGES" by confining Christianity to its four corners and thus brought in a new phrase called "Separation of the Church from the State". Islamic countries will never be able to bring such a concept. As a result, the demolition of Islam is the only solution for a better future.

NEW DELHI: Supreme Court's judgement refusing a Muslim student's plea to sport beards in educational institutions by observing it would not permit
"Talibanisation of the country" has been challenged by the aggrieved youth by way of a fresh petition.

In his petition Salim, a student, had sought a review of the judgement and submitted that the observations on "Talibanisation" had caused incalculable damage to the country's image and the judiciary, besides, hurting the sentiments of the Muslim community.

The student submitted through counsel Abdul Karim Ansari that the judgement needs to be reviewed afresh as the core issue of a Muslim's right to sport a beard as guaranteed by Article 25 was violated by the school.

Article 25 provides every citizen the right to practice his/her religion.

Salim, a student of Nirmala Convent Higher Secondary School, a government-recognised minority institution in Madhya Pradesh, had earlier challenged the institution's rule which prohibited students from sporting a beard in the school.

After the Madhya Pradesh High Court upheld the validity of the rule, Salim appealed in the apex court which dismissed his plea and observed that secularism cannot be overstretched and that "Talibanisation" of the country cannot be permitted.

Justice Markandeya Katju who was part of the bench with Justice R V Raveendran had observed, "We don't want to have Talibans in the country. Tomorrow a girl student may come and say that she wants to wear a burqa, can we allow it?"

The apex court then said a minority institution has its own set of rules and rights provided by Article 30 of the Constitution and the same cannot be breached by any person.

"If there are rules you have to follow. You can't say that I will not wear a uniform I will wear only a burqa," the bench had observed.

Challenging the said observations and judgement, Salim in his fresh petition submitted, "observations of the judge regarding wearing of beard and burqa have done incalculable harm and damage to the country's prestige and image of its highly respected judiciary.

"These irrelevant and uncalled for observations have also triggered an avoidable debate on the right of the Muslim minority raising questions in the process on the manner and method of court functioning, besides hurting the feelings and sentiments of the community," the review petition stated.

The petition further stated the appeal against the high court order was passed without any proper reasoning as it involved a substantial question of law relating to a Muslim's right to sport a beard in an educational institution.

"The failure to do so constitutes a grave error of law and calls for a review of the impugned order," the petition added.

The polls do not represent the majority of Hawaiians who have to put up with this stupidity.

How can these people even contemplate such insanity after what Muslims did to America less than eight years ago?

I'm an american muslim raise christian and I have read the Quran several times and study Islam and none of what i'm reading is what I was taught. Islam is SUCH a misunderstood and very peaceful religion. There are terrorists of every nationality and religion, why does everyone pick on muslims? There are americans here terrorizing innocent citizens everyday? Robbing, murdering, kidnapping. When was the last time you saw on the news a story about a muslim woman killing her own baby? I haven't heard of any, but I read about three american women who did such horrible things last week. I'm just saying, there are going to be people of every race, culture and religion who committ horrible acts. But to single one out and make such awful claims is unfair. I was christian and I chose to become muslim because it made sense to me. It has made me a much better person and a much happier person. I don't look down upon anyone for their beliefs. It says in the Quran to treat all people with kindness, no matter what their religion. Its a shame people twist the meanings and turn them into what they want it to say. I would share my story, however I get the feeling nobody reading this on this site could possibly understand, let alone give it a chance to make sense. I was raised christian and I come from a great family. I guess my first question of faith came after I was sexually assaulted by the minister of a church. That experience didn't lead me to "hate" christianity, just made me wonder how such a "devout" man with kids and grandkids could do such a thing. It was years after that when I decided to explore Islam. I had made friends with a person who was muslim. He was the most generous, friendly person i'd ever met. Reading comment #14 puzzles me because it is so completely false. Polygamy is allowed in Islam, true. But under very strick circumstances. i.e. if a woman is widowed and has nobody to care for her then a man may marry her to help support her and take care of her. Polygamy doesn't necessarily mean you are going to have a PHYSICAL relationship with two or three wives. It can just mean that you are taking responsibily for caring for another individual as well. If a man decides to marry more than one wife and does not carry it out in a way which is halal then he will be punished harshly. Like I said, maybe you all should read and REALLY understand the meanings of the Quran and watch less tv. Just a thought. I am a better woman because i'm a muslim and I have a respect for myself and those around me that I never knew existed. I don't expect anyone here to listen to me. No problem. Thighing of the infants was allowed by the prophet and has been shown to be the norm in many moslems societies.Are you aware that many moslems do not allow their moslem drivers to carry/ touch kid daughters? I know lots of women and girls my age who were beat by their fathers, boyfriends, husbands, etc. who are NOT MUSLIM. There are child molesters and bad people in every corner of the world. Muslims in the U.S. want to establish sharia law by establishing it through legislation.

Nonmuslim minorities in Islamic countries are treated like sh*t by the Muslim populace unless they convert to Islam. Then they are treated with respect.
