The Resumption of the Islamic Futuhat (Conquests)

In our study of the history of Islamic imperialism, we take note of two main phases. The initial one took place soon after the death of Muhammad in 632 A.D. The "Rightly Guided" caliphs (632-661) launched the futuhat and managed to conquer Syria, Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Persia. Their successors, the Umayyads (661-750) continued the conquests by invading Spain in 710. Twenty two years later, after crossing the Pyrenees, the Muslim armies advanced into southern France, but were halted by Charles Martel at the Battle of Tours, near Poitiers, in 732. The second phase in the Islamic futuhat took place during the caliphate of the Ottoman Turks. In 1453, they conquered Constantinople, bringing to an end the last vestige of the Eastern Roman Empire. They besieged Vienna in 1529, but failed to occupy it. On the other hand, they managed to conquer almost all of Eastern and Central Europe. Their second attempt to defeat the Austrian Empire took place in 1683, when their siege of Vienna ended with a disaster. Historians consider this event as the beginning of the decline and fall of the Ottoman Empire, an event that occurred early in the twentieth century with the victory of the Allies over Germany, Austria, and Ottoman Turkey. I don't think I am exaggerating if I refer to a third phase of Islamic futuhat that began around 1950, when large numbers of Muslims moved into several parts of Western Europe. They were invited by Europeans who were experiencing a great shortage of workers in their factories, with the native European population experiencing a rapid decline! Sixty years since the beginning of the Islamic influx into Europe, the demographic scene has changed to such an extent, that no one may deny the reality of the Islamic entrenchment in Western Europe. On 19 May, 2009, the Italian online publication, Chiesa published a report with this headline, Eurabia Has A Capital: Rotterdam. I would like to comment on this article with its shocking revelations about the extent of the Islamization of Europe. The term "Eurabia" was "coined" by Bat Ye'or, who published in 2002 her book, Eurabia, warning Europeans and North Americans about the fate of all democratic societies which are overrun by large numbers of Muslims. The guest-workers become, before too long, the occupiers of large sections of metropolitan areas and succeed in establishing enclaves where Islam rules! This implies that all non-Muslims become "Dhimmis" i.e. second or third class citizens who must do the bidding of their new masters. Here are excerpts from the article that should give every freedom-lover person a reason for a great concern: "Holland is an extraordinary test case. It is the country in which individual license is the most extensive - to the point of permitting euthanasia on children - in which the Christian identity is most faded, in which the Moslem presence is growing most boldly. "Here, multiculturalism is the rule. But the exceptions are dramatic: from the killing of the anti-Islamist political leader Pim Fortuyn to the persecution of the Somali dissident Ayaan Hirsi Ali to the murder of the director Theo Van Gogh, condemned to death for his film "Submission," a denunciation of the crimes of Muslim theocracy. Fortuyn's successor, Geert Wilders, has lived under 24-hour police protection for six years. "There is one city in Holland where this new reality can be seen with the naked eye, more than anywhere else. Here, entire neighborhoods look as if they have been lifted from the Middle East, here stand the largest mosques in Europe, here parts of sharia law are applied in the courts and theaters, here many of the women go around veiled, here the mayor is a Muslim, the son of an imam. This city is Rotterdam, Holland's second largest city by population, and the largest port in Europe by cargo volume." "Three months ago, "The Economist," a weekly publication far from Wilders' anti-Islamic ideas, spoke of Rotterdam as a "Eurabian nightmare." For most of the Dutch who live there, Islamism is now a threat greater than the Delta Plan, the complicated system of dikes that prevents flooding from the sea, like the flood in 1953 that killed two thousand people. The picturesque town of Schiedam, part of the greater Rotterdam area, has always been a jewel in the Dutch imagination. Then the fairy tale glow faded, when in the newspapers three years ago it became the city of Farid A., the Islamist who made death threats against Wilders and Somali dissident Ayaan Hirsi Ali. For six years, Wilders has lived under 24-hour police protection." One cannot but ask why were the Europeans so naïve to think nothing of having large Islamic populations take over parts of their big cities? Were they that ignorant of the history of Islamic imperialism? How about the Dutch? For centuries they had colonized the East Indies (now known as Indonesia) where they witnessed the impact of Islam on the population of the archipelago. Some of the most learned and informative books on Islam were written by Dutch authors. At this point in my article, I would like to refer again to the works of the Egyptian born expert on Islam, the Jewish author, Bat Ye'or. She has written excellent books delineating the impact of societies which are subjugated by Islam. While she writes in French, most of her works have been translated into English as well as into other languages. A French scholar and professor at the University of Bordeaux, the late Jacques Ellul, wrote a Preface to Bat Ye'or's "The Dhimmi: Jews and Christians under Islam" published in 1985. Professor Ellul began his discussion of Dhimmitude by pointing to the sensitive nature of the subject. Islam's leaders have never regarded their treatment of non-Muslims as a problem. In fact they claim that the populations which were overcome by the Futuhat (conquests) were treated in a kindly manner and granted "protection," i.e. "Dhimma." As Professor Ellul put it, "It is within this context that Bat Ye'or's book, The Dhimmi should be placed: and it is an exemplary contribution to this crucial discussion that concerns us all. Here I shall neither give an account of the book nor praise its merits, but shall simply indicate its importance. The dhimmi is someone who lives in a Muslim society without being a Muslim (Jews, Christians, and occasionally "animists"). He has a particular social, political, and economic status, and it is essential for us to know how this "refractory" person has been treated." "However, the dhimmi itself is a controversial subject. This word actually means "protégé" or "protected person." This is one of the arguments of the modern defenders of Islam: the dhimmi has never been persecuted or maltreated (except accidentally); on the contrary, he was a protected person. What better example could illustrate Islam's liberalism. Here are people who do not accept Islam and, instead of being expelled, they are protected...When this "stranger" lives in Islamic countries, the answer can only be:[protected] against the Muslims themselves." After dealing with the criticisms of some Western scholars of Bat Ye'or's "The Dhimmi: Jews and Christians under Islam," Professor Ellul ended his Preface with these words: "If I have dealt with the criticisms at some length, it is because I feel that is important in order to establish the "scholarly" nature of this book. For my part, I consider this study to be very honest, hardly polemical at all, and as objective as possible (always bearing in mind the fact that I belong to the school of historians for whom pure objectivity, in the absolute sense, cannot exist). The Dhimmi contains a rich selection of source material, makes a correct use of documents, and displays a concern to place each situation in its proper historical context... The Muslim world has not evolved in its manner of considering the non-Muslim, which is a reminder of the fate in store for those who may one day be submerged within it. It is a source of enlightenment for our time." Jacques Ellul's concluding words sounded an alarm not only for his fellow-French citizens, but for all the European states where large numbers of Muslims have settled, and altered the social and political landscape. He died in 1994 at the age of 82, before seeing Ye'or's latest book, "Eurabia," another great work on the subject of Islam and the West. Thus, no Western people on both side of the Atlantic can claim ignorance about the true nature of Islam, and its imperialistic impulse to dominate and subjugate non-Muslims. The article in the online Chiesa, on Rotterdam's becoming the "Capital" of Eurabia was a realistic and forthright description of a fait accompli in Western Europe. This article is of great importance to me because I live in Rotterdam. For me there are 2 sides to it; the actual threat discussed in it, which I think is real, and the actual situation as I experience it. As yet I am still in confusion.

Rotterdam has about 600.000 people. About a month ago, it hit the news that immigrants now constitute more than half the population. But the school-youth was already in majority from immigrant descent.

It is estimated that # 100.000 of the inhabitants are Muslims or of "Islamic descent". Surprisingly many of the immigrants are Christians it turned out a few years ago. There is big minority of Antillians, maybe # 20.000, a disproportionate number of whom are in the crime-statistics. (And this is the situation with Moroccans too). And you have the Cabo-Verdians (Catholic) and Surinamese people. A lot of whom are Hindustans. The "Muslims" are predominantly Turkish or Moroccan, but there are also many Somalians and others. Anyway it is said we have maybe 150 "nationalities". And I know there are about 200 countries in the world.

The Moroccan mayor, Aboutaleb, is a well-known socialist. He stands for democracy, at one time telling "people who don't like the rules here" "to go elsewhere". His democratic loyalty is beyond doubt to almost all, me too. He is well liked. There also recently was a controversy about a Professor Tariq Ramadan, counselor for the city. I heard this man speak, he impressed me, he is taking the position that "Islam and Democracy" are are not in contradiction with each other. The controversy was about his stand on homosexuality.

The women are almost never veiled, but women with headscarves are ubiquitous. Rotterdam IS the city in Holland with the worst statistics in crime, poor people, people on welfare, dropouts from school, health situation. But to my knowledge there are as yet no "no-go-areas", no riots or extraordinary violence. Pim Fortuyn in 2002 was very popular here, then he was killed, by some crazy white guy. Now Geert Wilders intends to participate in Election and he is expected to get many votes. There is so much to tell, I know I left out a lot, sorry about that.

The threat of "Eurabia" I take very seriously because there was/ is this one-sided migration, so a big demographical trend in favor of Islam. And we here at FFI all heard about the thoughts, mentality, goals of Islam and Muslims. But most Dutch political parties do not acknowledge such a danger, and almost every week there is much discussion about it in the media.

And I think democracy is working its magic in the other direction also and am not yet sure which one is going to overcome the other side worldwide; dictatorial Islam or democracy. There seem to be many well-educated, integrated young Islamic people here also that are independently interpreting Islam. To me most Muslims are nice people, I have got used to them and I like them a lot.

A democratic country has not forcibly occupied another country with out the people at home, of the invading country not raising a hue and cry about the brute force. at least not for a long tiime.Islam has not only occupied other countries but also has changed the demography of the country concerned.Take a look

Muslims are not nice people, they are very clever people. They wait till the time they are in majority and or in a position to dictate terms. Once in a position of power, you will find their nice behaviour dissapear like a fart in the wind.
And then you will regret your choice and it is going to be too late for you to do anything about it.
If you really care for yourself and your country, then go and get some sort of millitary training and buy a very good gun.
Muslims only understand one language, that is the language of voilence. They will only bow if they know that their opponent is more ruthless and dangerous than they are. This is why you see Muslims whinning about the USA all the time. So if you care, pay heed to my advice and stop speaking with your Muslim so called friends.
I unfortunately don't have the luxury to do so, but you as a non-muslim who has no affliation with Islam or Muslim, past of present can easily break off all links with Muslims. Rather waste your time on Muslims, it would be better if you work towards spreading the right information amogst your people. Also try to find other like minded people and start some kind of a organisation.
You need to use tact and slyness, because your enemy is extremely tricky and clever.............

So do not be fooled by the benevolence of muslims in Rotterdam. Even the Talibans and Alqaeda, apparently they are nice people when you meet them in their homes out of Jihad activities. There is so much still to discuss. I take your words very seriously, thought about them all day. You know how many Muslims think. You know their real goals worldwide, where their real loyalties lie. You are under no illusion of their nice behavior once in power.

But, we are for now also protected by our very prosperity and India is developing rapidly and that should protect Indians in the 21st century too. Many young Muslims in Rotterdam prosper, and that is something they won't want to lose or risk. Many Muslima's enjoy their equal rights here, are loath to marry Orthodox Islamic husbands, it's a real problem for Moroccan boys. I heard other Moroccans curse the Moroccan government for being so dictatorial and corrupt.

We should look global, not just national. We should see the historical progress of mankind, for instance with the democratization of Eastern Europe, and consider that that also is a strong tendency. We should not merely defend but get it clear what it is that we are FOR. Get committed to that.

We are already doing so much well, like on this site, telling the world what Islam really is. We should expose a purely Islamic government like that of Iran as just another dictatorship. Which is economically singularly UNsuccessful, which allows a huge drugsproblem to grow for instance. And in many Islamic countries there are dictatorships that are not even Islamic. We Westerners should not support them and Muslims at least owe THEM no allegiance. When real Islamic governments would take over in those countries, they would very probably steer their country to the same dead end as the ayatollahs have done.

We could try to convince Muslims of the advantages of democracy over dictatorship worldwide and the dishonesty of favoring one faith over all others, as happens in many Islamic countries. Above all, we should address as many women, both Islamic and of other faiths (in solidarity) about democratic advantages, as possible. Gay people also. On the whole we Democrats simply offer a much better deal to women and gays than the Theocrats do.

I am aware of the Islamic threat, otherwise I would not be on FFI. Only I am still in confusion about how to proceed.

The Muslims that I meet are nice people, but once talking about their faith, they almost always get different. The times they elaborate they seem so heavily prejudiced. From personal experience, reading, FFI, I already know so much. So I am aware of the danger, yes.

It is just that, globally speaking, the diehards on the enemy side are very much afraid of real democrats, democratic ways, too! Maybe all we have to do is protect, improve and expand democracy, in the whole world! That means democracy in the hearts and minds of, but more important over the Islamic people as many as possible.

Somehow, in this way, we can get time on OUR side, make the Theocrats gradually lose terrain. Even contrary to demographic trends.

What you are proposing is very nice to hear, but the thing is no Muslim how soever freethinking he might appear will ever comprmise his Islam for anything.
The category of of Muslims that you reffered to might not come out on the streets to kill you, but neither will they defend you and your values when the time comes. At best they will be silent obsevers. You see you cannot tame a crocodile, can you? It impossible and that's why I am telling you that Muslims only understand the language of fear.
The more you supress them, the better it is for you and your future generations.
Do you know why Muslims only half a century bac feared Europe? Because Europeans were not stupid, naive, ignorant and politically correct, quite unlike the current crop.

I take your words to my heart, my friend and ally, really I do. I do not waste my time with Muslims much, there are only about a dozen colleagues in the whole company, who I regularly meet. But they are indeed perfectly likable, humorous and decent people. But I certainly can't trust them when Islam is in power, OK.

5 questions: - 1. Do you, by and large, love mankind? 2. Do you on balance want what is good for them? 3. Have you clear in your mind what it is that is good for them? 4. Are you optimistic that this will come about in the 21st century? 5. What would you do in case of success?

You see, some people might NOT like humanity, they might NOT want it to have what is best for it. And it is so hard, it seems to me, to formulate well, what to us IS good for mankind, in the 21st century. There certainly is much difference of opinion about this, I say let it be decided democratically, all the time. After consensus we can carefully choose and follow up on that.

Optimism seems to be a very important character-thrait, pessimism may be counterproductive. Mind you, realizing the danger, in contrast, is very good. But the crux might be in formulating goals you CAN be optimistic about.

5th question is because if you knew what you would do when you succeeded, then you could already visualise that, strive for that directly, and indirectly. Deepak Chopra teaches that it is very important what your goals are, what you visualise most of the time.

Mr Demsci, somehow as an ex muslim, i prefer your way of dealing with things. yes, most muslims are nice people because they are in the dark side of the room, not knowing the real truth of islam. my advice, avoid religious discussion with them unless you are sure about their conviction. but to lump all of them as bad and evil as some of the posters here suggested is simply bias and prejudice attitude. Hitler applied similar approach to backlash the Jews during his time. some people here has clouded judgment and post simply on the ground of their hatred. they do a little help to educate the muslims.

My goal is to convince democratically, all the moslems that islam is evil!
