PAKISTAN: Taliban destroy 60% of schools in northwest.

In a campaign against education, especially for girls in the troubled tribal region of northwest Pakistan and the Swat valley, Taliban militants have shut down 4,000 private schools and have either blown-up or set on fire 230 schools, including 112 girls' schools in the region, a Press TV correspondent reported late on Friday.

Outrageous, what the Taliban

Outrageous, what the Taliban has done.

Giving girls a good education, giving them good career-possibilities, an independent mind is one of our biggest priorities. Of course the boys should get the same, but if an ever bigger percentage of mankind's women get the above, then that would result in them wanting to have much more autonomy, rights, and a career and thus less children, but for those children better prospects. So if it would be in our power, we should endeavour to frustrate people like the Taliban and boost good education for young men and women.

The actions of the Taliban, in the name of Islam, put that religion a bit more on the primitive side of mankind. Some Muslims actually seem to want ignorance, illiteracy, a subservient attitude of people who an Islamic dictatorial leadership thus can control and influence better. Whereas we want ever more autonomy, independence, inalienable rights for an ever greater percentage of mankind.
