Crunchybear1 has a video on Ibn Sina known in the West by his latinised name Avicenna. Ibn Sina wasn't a Moslem, because of his peculiar ideas about god: he was an Aristotelian philosopher and his god was the same one god of the Hellenistic philosophers and possibly the same God as Thomas Aquinas', a Western Aristotelian philosopher and a Catholic. Using Ibn Sina to make islam look better is an offence to everybody's intelligence and to Ibn Sina himself.

There's no islamic school in the world following or teaching Ibn Sina's ideas. The divorce of islam from Hellenistic philosophy was sanctioned by Al Ghazali, who is still an authority in the islamic world, while Ibn Sina is not. What Al Ghazali did was to bring back a lot of the irrationality of Asharism against the mysticism of Sufism and the rational views of the Mutazilites. If we know about Ibn Sina it's because the West salvaged his works.
