Iraqi Police Protect Christians from Islamist Attacks
Jim Kouri
Either intentionally or unintentionally, United States news media outlets are ignoring the violence perpetrated by Muslims against Christians in Iraq.
While some believe this stems from the fact that reporters have moved on to stories other than U.S. operations in Iraq, others believe this lack of coverage has more to do with the anti-Christian bias that exists within the media. The current Muslim-on-Christian violence does not fit the media template – Christian bigotry against Islam.
Provincial police representatives in Iraq's Kirkuk province met May 4th with Christian leaders in Kirkuk city to address concerns about increased violence against Kirkuk's Christian minority, according to Pfc. Justin Naylor of the American Forces Press Office.
Only about 3 percent of Iraq's total population – about 800,000 Iraqis – are Christian.
"Anyone that targets you, targets us also," said Maj. Gen. Turhan, the Kirkuk city deputy police chief, a Kurdish Muslim.
Two attacks April 26th left three Christian residents of Kirkuk dead and two others injured, the third series of attacks targeting Christians in the city in recent months.
"Our history has always coincided with yours," Turhan said at the meeting.
Following the attack, Iraqi police began visiting Christians in their homes to reassure them of police presence and to create lines of communication that the Christians could use in case of emergencies.
Unlike in the aftermath of attacks in the past, Christians did not flee the city this time, Turhan said. For some, he added, the attacks only redoubled their determination to stay in Kirkuk and prove that they will not be frightened away.
"We feel safe here, and we are planning on staying," one Christian told Turhan.
A Christian representative at the meeting commended the police's efforts to protect them. "We have received great support from the [police], and they responded to the attacks well," he said.
Christian neighborhoods and churches are receiving special attention and extra security to prevent further bloodshed, police officials said.
Following the attacks, police operations surged and three suspects believed to be involved in the murders were arrested.

Both the christian and moslem
Both the christian and moslem evil followers are full of xxxx.
The basic molecule of energy in a human being is glucose and the way its metabolised in to end products of co2 and h2o with the release of energy is the same in all people of all colours, race and religion. If the islamic pimp allah and the dead jew on a stick were to be better than other gods, why the heck the glucose is metabolised in all human beings the same way? My disbelief in these two evils of allah the xxxx and the dead jew on a stick, is very strong. But still the two evils could not alter my metabolism of glucose. Its still the same as a believer!
Mr Proudkafir, i have been
Mr Proudkafir, i have been reading your posts for several articles, are you here to initiate a provocation? look Pal, it's humanity that we talk about here, be it christians or muslims. your obnoxious posts are irrelevant and uncivilized. if you have problem with christians, then start a site to refute them. here we refute islam and we dont need derogatory remarks from you. I am an apostate myself and i am ashamed that you dont have any decency left in any of your post. what so proud of being a kaafir? it's being a freethinker that we should proud of. you have enough bigotry that put you in similar ground as the muslims that you hated the most. i want something of the intellectual capacity from you pal. Humanity is but one family. :)
It is good to know that the
It is good to know that the police have some decency in them and respect the Christians as brothers and sisters of humanity.
Kenmirzz.....THANK YOU, brother/sister! I hold no personal ill will towards anyone who posts here, but I stopped coming for a while to the site because I was tired of the indecent behavior being displayed! I'm not perfect by any means, but I do think we as brothers and sisters of humanity fighting Islam regardless of race religion, etc should respect each other which from what I have read lately seems to be lacking. True, we won't all agree, but respect is the key here and a bit more tolerance...otherwise like you said, we're no better than the ones we're fighting against!
You are welcome Mr Free
You are welcome Mr Free Spirit. FFI was instrumental in my becoming an apostate and i do not tolerate indecency from a few uneducated posters here. it makes my heart in pain epecially the OP above who goes by the name Proudkafir. as a freethinker who believe in brotherhood of humanity per se, even a muslim who comes to FFI and behave accordingly must be shown respect. if FFI fails to maintain its professionalism, intellectualism and freethinking attitude, i am afraid more people will desert this site and the muslims will never be enlightened. hope Mr Ali Sina is reading this and take necessary actions.
humanity is but one family. :)
Hi, #4, It is Ms. Free
Hi, #4,
It is Ms. Free Spirit, but that's ok...no offense was taken! Well, congrats on your apostacy and welcome to humanity! :)
I feel that many who come to the site are indeed well educated, but we sometimes allow our emotions to get the best of us when it comes to our beliefs...religious or otherwise. If we were not so emotionally attached to our beliefs/ideas, we'd be a lot more tolerant of others. I think it is fine if one does not agree with someone's idea/belief, but offensive remarks will not help our war in fighting Islam. I don't see why respecting our brothers and sisters of humanity is such a hard thing for some of us to do! As I said, if this behavior continues, we have another war on our hands and our fight against Islam will decrease and as you stated, fewer Muslims will wake up to humanity!
OOps, my apology Ms Free
OOps, my apology Ms Free Spirit. thanks for the welcome.
i understand the emotional comment made by some after releasing themselves from the clutch of islam, or should i say, the slavery of Islam. some non muslims who experienced badly within an islamic environment may impatiently pour his or her hatred towards anything related to islam. I am well aware of this.
but, uncontrolled hatred and frequent deviation from original topic of the article discussed is seen as immaturity. in order for us to maintain an unending frequent visitors from an islamic background, such behaviour must be shunned entirely. this is because muslims will cling to whatever deficiency in any anti islamic sites so that their 'programmed faith' is preserved.
if iraqi police were protecting the christians, they should be lauded for serving humanity. these police, who are not so good muslims were protecting the christians from true muslims. we have to differentiate clearly on this rather than lump up all together as the OP implied in his venomous post. i dont believe in insulting and abusive remarks to educate a person, he or she will resist instead.
humanity is but one family. :)
