BAGHDAD — A wave of bombs targeting Shiite Muslim worshippers at mosques across Baghdad killed 29 people and wounded more than 136 on Friday a month after US troops withdrew from Iraq's main urban centres.
Security officials said the six apparently coordinated blasts occurred outside mosques and prayer centres in and around the capital, including one frequented by followers of radical Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.
The most devastating attack was in the northeastern district of Al-Shaab, where a car bombing killed 23 people and wounded 107 others, an interior ministry official said....Read on...

I was listening to a radio
I was listening to a radio show about a military man telling us how it really is in Iraq. And then reading this article. And this news doesn't surprise me. (jihadradio.org)
I used to think that we could make a difference to those people. Since 2007, or maybe it was 2008, I am convinced we should just leave the area. If the Saudis, or the Kuwaitis, get attacked - so be it. It would be their jihadists 'coming home to roost'.
We should give no more money to Pakistan, the Palistinians, or the Iraqis. The Iraqis have oil money. The Palistinians have their Arab 'brothers' who dumped them there and who are told to 'give to charity' (that is a joke). And the Pakistanis have themselves to blame for what they got. They should have stayed a part of India, or they could just keep accepting Saudi money - or the Saudis could dump them like they do the Palestinians.
As for oil - we got enough here on the Americas to take care of us. And if the Europeans have a problem - then they can start getting off their behinds and start dealing with them instead of letting us do all the work. They have no problem dumping money into welfare to take care of their muslims, or supporting such ilk as Saddam - then berating us for taking care of business. Let them have the reigns.
I figure in a couple of years they will be gnashing their teeth, whining and wailing for our help because they let the muslims overrun them and all of a sudden they wake up because the cesspool of muslim violence like what is in Africa, Lebanon, or Kosovo/Bosnia, has come to their backyards.
I am all for human relief programs, but this is more than just human relief. This is helping an idiotology (misspelled on purpose) advance their cause (Allah's Cause) through their 'brothers' suffering. They have the money to take care of their own - it is about time we let them do it - or fail. We help them so they can not only kill themselves, but go on killing sprees of any and all non-muslims.
We have given these people no consequence for poor behavior and instead let them grow and grow in our countries while they let human misery grow and prosper in their own countries. They should be ashamed of themselves, but I do believe that they are too pompous and self-righteous to even think that they are behaving despicable especially when there is a President who bows to such ilk, and aPope who kisses their koran. All are bowing to evil of their time.
We have a world who is disgusted with a man, Hitler, who killed Jews by the millions and also others (Christians). But a world ok with an idiotology, a 'religion' that persecutes, and kills Jews and other non-muslims or muslims of a different sect.
