How to pray and fast in countries where the day or night is continuous

This is one of the problem with Islamic teaching because it centered around hot and nearly equatorial climate region, paying less or no heed to the Northern and Southern colder or polar regions. A mere glimpse at the description of hell fire in the Quran will reveal that heat and fire are used to portray the punishment in Hell.

Obviously God has been unfair to the Eskimos because they can never observe fasting due to prolonged duration of day and night in summer and winter. Islamic scholars were apologetic and attempt to rationalize and compromise the issues. There is no single Quranic verse or Hadith narrated by "Prophet" that amply provide satisfying solution to this dilemma of Muslims. Apparently, God forgets this or consider the matter as insignificant but concentrate on the private conjugal matter of the "Prophet" instead.

Humanity is but one family. :)

I really love this one. If there is one thing that I believe God hates to see when He watches down on earth is to see over and over again that Islam is still present on the surface of the earth.

And He wont take the iniative to wipe it out! It'll just stay here until we self-realize ourselves that it is for our own good that we eliminate islam (of course through peaceful means).

We will continue to live under constant unpredictable threats of suicide bombings, so many lives of American and British soldiers in Afghanstan will be lost, islamic supremacism and dominance (khilafate) will continue to roam around our noses, we will disturbed by daily noises from mosques by ugly terrorist hate preachers, uncontrolled world population explosion due to polygamy and early marriage rates, until we realize that they are all bad for us and then our sense will return.

And liberal cowards in US and Europe have eyes but cannot see, their ears are not circumcised and they cannot hear anything bad about Islam and God will keep his stance until their sense get back. The good thing is that the liberal cowards will be the first one to be slaughtered by mullahs when an Islamic take over consummate!

This whole question of the impossibility of being physically capable of fasting and doing five-time daily prayers in the Polar Regions as prescribed by Shariah Law is just one more proof that Islam is not from God but is merely a Muhammad-made religion. Moreover it is also just another proof that Muhammad believed in a flat earth with an orbiting sun where days and nights were equal in length. This puts paid to the nonsense of Islamic apologists with their bogus claim of a round egg-shaped Earth as per their Muhammad-created Quran.

Centuries ago, during the days of the Caliphate, travelers from the far north were called liars and severely punished for daring to claim that their days and nights were months long as this contradicted the Quran and Muhammad.

We even have an echo of this nonsense in these modern times from many influential Muslims. In this book “Motion of the Sun and Moon, and Stationariness of the Earth,” the late Saudi Islamic scholar Sheikh Abdul Aziz Ibn Baz, foolishly and adamantly claimed that per the Quran, “The earth is flat. Whoever claims it is spherical is an atheist and deserves punishment”

Moreover the male Eskimos or Inuit as they are also called cannot ever be proper Muslims per Shariah Law as they lack the genetic ability to grow beards. A few have very scanty beards that would never pass muster among the Taliban beard-police whose job is to ensure all Muslim males have the prescribed beard lengths. Have any of you readers ever seen an Eskimo male with a beard? This is as rare as a moola or Talibani Muslim with brains or even hen’s teeth. This is just another proof that Islam is just a Muhammad-made religion.

No true God who created our world and its entire peoples would ever claim such garbage as Muhammad did. His Quran merely reflects his own ignorance of the rest of the world. Muslims should ponder whether a real God would be so unaware of His creations and make so many mistakes in his supposed eternal book the Quran.

Ali, please recall the problem faced by the Indonesian man on the space station who needed help is selecting prayer times. The space station circles the earth every 90 minutes. He could well have spent all his time praying. Five prayers every 90 minutes! Of course Allah has foreseen space travel as his Prophet did that quite often, so surely this is covered somewhere in the Holy Quran.

If they allow this for inuit, then basically anyone can make their own convenient hours and fast whenever they want. How about between breakfast and Lunch and between Lunch and Dinner and then between Dinner and Breakfast

Maybe what compounds the problem for the Muslims is that they keep using the lunar calendar of 354 or 355 days. This makes Ramadan fall in a different part of the year every year. In most of the world a solar calendar is used. But in Islamic countries both the solar and the lunar calendar are used. Wouldn't it in theory be better for the Muslims of the far north (if there are any) if Ramadan fell each year in the same period, in a solar calendar-system? Say around Christmas, or maybe in midsummer, dependent on when the nights are long?

The solar calendar was developed until it was fine-tuned with the natural 365,25-period of the sun, it seems to me the lunar calendar is hopelessly obsolete and useless, and only kept in use because of Islam.

I would like to say that if Allah knows everythng, why did he not send a clause about the north pole and south pole in the koran? Mohammad did not study geography because he was illiterate, how come allah did not know geography when he was the one who created it. Now tell me do you still believe that allah spoke to mohammad or mohammad just made it up as he went along? mohammad' s world was the desert and he believed that it was hot every where.

In Islam there is solution to every problem through Ijtehad. I give an APOSTATIC FATWAA that in polar countries like Norway, Sweden etc. Muslims can fast and perform their prayers according to time of Mecca.

How to Pray and fast in the Polar Regions?

Question: When we meet some materialists and non-Muslims people they say that how can Islam be a universal religion while its laws be applied only in our areas and area like ours. For example to pray five times a day and fast in the month of Ramadhan is not possible at the north and the south poles because there the days and nights are exceptionally long. Some place have a six month day and a sin month night.
Answer: By divine wisdom, Islamic law has provided the solution to such problems before they arose. On the basis of this Islamic law are never enforceable without any difference.
The explanation of this statement is that our senior jurisprudents have discussed this problem in their books. For example, the late Kazim Yazdi, who is of our senior jurisprudent. In this book Urwathul Wuthqa he has mentioned this problem and given a clear verdict that the duty of such people is that they must pray and fast according to the timings of areas which have moderate day and nights. But these people should see how long are the days and nights in that season. And then he can fast according to it and perform the five daily prayers.
This matter can also be explained in another way by which all the doubts and objections are dispelled. (Please note).
In the Polar region where the nights and days are long and sometimes the sun is visible in the sky for six months, and it does not set, it goes from one horizon to the other once in every twenty four hour.
In such regions the movement of the sun around the horizon is not the same all the year round. When it circles the horizon once sometimes it goes up and sometimes it comes down and seen in a low lying ground, from this aspect sometimes the surroundings are more lighted and sometimes less. Thus this process is repeated once a day. If you see those pictures which are taken during the movement of sun around the horizon which were taken from those place you will know the facts.
When the sun is at zenith the people living near the poles call it day and they start working when it declines and reaching near the horizon it dims, they call it night and rest.
We should remember that when the sun the sign reaches the horizon at the polar region the moderate regions which have equal days and nights, there is actual night.
From the aspect of this calculation the night and day can be determined easily. If a pole is fixed in the ground when the length of its shadow increase little more than its size it is the time of Noon Prayers and Afternoon Prayers and when it becomes the longest, then also it would be midnight. And in this way it is easy to determine noon and midnight.
Now if we know the length of days and nights at this time of year in the moderate regions. For example we know that in the beginning of summer the days are normally of fourteen hours and nights are of ten hours, we could easily know the timings of our prayers and fasts etc.
And whatever is mentioned above on the basis of this in long days the responsibility of Prayers and fast have become clear but when the nights are prolonged we should remember that in twenty-four hours the atmosphere are not the same. Rather sometimes it is absolutely dark and sometimes it is lighted a little bit becomes sometimes the sun is near the horizon and the atmosphere is misty or darker than this and sometimes the sun moves away from the horizon and the atmosphere becomes dark.
In the nights the position and the movement of the stars, their distance from the horizon and in the same way the darkness and brightness of the atmosphere could help us to determine the noon and midnight and keeping in view the median length of days and nights in the moderate regions, the religious duties can be performed.
The above-mentioned explanations show that the duties of Prayer and fasting along with the other Islamic duties are not applicable to only one particular area and they can be acted upon in all the regions.

You know Ali, I used to wonder about this issue some time back and the conclusion I came to is that Mo was a liar and that his false allah whom is supposed to be god doesn't f**cking know about the polar regions! I mean how can an almighty god not know that one day this ummah will flock to Europe and will have to fast and pray there as a result. How does almighty allah not know that there are regions on earth where fasting is impossible and prayer times confusing. Proves that Islam is a regional cult that never took account of other regions on earth.
