I do understand that there are different forms of atheism. The form of atheism that I really like is that of being skeptic. Not to believe anything until you have concrete and personal proof. As for atheists hating Israel ( not Jews or Judaism), the reason appears to me to be this:

They are watching the conflicts in Israel and they can't be indifferent. That's very normal, and often very humane , to support the weak to make the balance. Had Jews been oppressed and Muslims/Arabs oppressors there, most probably THOSE atheists would have supported the Jews.In fact those who are/were indifferent to Gaza massacre are more suspected to be evil and sick.

Assume that you are walking in a street. You see several strong men beating a weak man to death. Wouldn't you react EVEN IF the man was a thief? Of course if you have a clean heart, you would. But if you are full of hatred toward a race for example and the boy is from that race, you may don't feel sad for him.

See man perceptions do change with time. Ten years back I used to look at the Afghans and Pakistani terrorist in Kashmir as my own brothers in Islam and I would view the native Kashmir pandits whom we Muslims drove out as foreigners and people deserving death. As a matter of principle, I do not believe in killing any sentient living creature, so accusing me of inciting murder is baseless.

Rarely has a country shown so much generosity to its enemy as much as Israel has shown to Palestinians.. if a population is persecuted, that population does not triple in numbers in 60 years does it? and it will not be expected to double in just 21 years? A few more words for meditation:

For me, personally, it is clear that Meditation is the only way out. Meditation is being able to be with One's Self. Under normal conditions we are not. We are swayed by our thoughts - good and bad.

Where did you get this idea that I wish Muslims to vanish and cease to exist? I never had such a stupid wish and never siad anything that can even be misunderstood in this way. I want Islam to be eradicated, but I want to win the Muslims to my side. I do not want them to vanish, but to be free, to prosper and be happy. I detest the sick ideology of Islam and want to help save Musims from this disease.

As I can see, Sundried Atheist is using a simple logic:

Some interesting (and disturbing) comments so far. I would like to add a few points.

1). This paranoia about anti-Semitic atheism taking over Europe is not only foolish, but it is simply outdated. I do not even see the correlation (the Nazis?). But even if there were, why should all atheists be put in the same basket with them? When we look at the 'new' secular movements initiated by great minds like Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and Sam Harris (also critics of Islam), this theoretical paranoia dies down quickly.

Staunch atheists like Dawkins have clearly distanced themselves from crazy leftists to show that they are against all forms of irrationality. This is the new wave of secular-freethinking (authentic, in my opinion) which isn't tarnished with the residue of outdated leftist ideologies. Should we group all atheists together, due to the acts of just a few idiot atheists? What about great atheist thinkers like David Hume, Jeremy Bentham, and Bertrand Russell?

2). Atheism (and theism) is not even a doctrine. Its simply a philosophical default: either there is a god or there isn't. Its not an ideology. Therefore, it is not theism or atheism which is at fault here, but the notion of ideology. Marxism is an ideology which uses atheism as its scapegoat. Abrahamic religion is an ideology which uses theism as its scapegoat. The problem today is religion is trying to convince everyone that its a 'special' type of ideology which deserves to be insulated from skeptical interrogation. This is a dangerous claim, in my opinion.

3). I am no fan of Abraham. Personally, I think the Abrahamic tale serves as the worst possible guidepost for human morality. Human morality, if truly dictated as it seems in the Abrahamic tale (i.e. satisfying the needs of a narcissistic deity), would leave us with a much nastier world than the one we currently inhabit.

However, that is no reason to damn an entire race or nation. Personally, I have found the Jews to be most apathetic to their own mythology (with the exception of ultra-orthodox fundamentalists). I hardly run into Jews who actually believe in the asinine nonsense of the Old Testament. And as far as being historically accurate, it was the Zoroastrians who introduced the monotheistic concept of divine judgment - but that’s no reason to condemn the entire Zoroastrian community for what happened over a thousand years ago. And if we really want to get historical, we can look back abjectly at the ancient Thracian cult of Bacchism which reenacted the tearing of the deified Bacchus through the ritual of mutilating and feasting upon an animal itself. However, are we to despise the entire Greek nation for this?

Unfortunately, irrationality is an integral part of our human nature and something that can never be absolutely erased.

This 'chosen people' thing is definately overrated. I mean, seriously. Everyone uses this argument as an excuse for hating the Jews.
I don't care if these people think they come from Mars, if they aren't hurting anyone, they aren't psycho.

And besides, knowing the history of the Jews, its very easy to tell that this was probably a fable they told themselves and their children, in order to comfort themselves from the opression and persecution they suffered.

I find it fascinating how the world always puts the Jews to some super high standards as if they aren't human. Its like, as soon as anything is even associated with Judaism, people show their anti-semitic colors.

Germans thought they were chosen race of Arians, while Jews thought they were the chosen people. It was conflict of interest you see. And it was German land where these chosen people were. One may not justify the holocaust, but jews themselves held responsibility for that.

BTW, this video is very much one-sided. A lot many accomplishments accredited to the jews have been in fact exaggerated (like the intel pentium chip, mobile camera chips etc), it was not really jewish although jews were part of teams that originally developed them, later on many others like the Japs have come up with much better and improved technologies in these realms.
Only drip irrigation could be credited fully to the jews, but hey, necessity is the mother of invention!
