This year in 2009, the world will be celebrating the 200th birth anniversary of histories greatest naturalist Charles Robert Darwin. To pay tribute to this genius of modern era people around the world will study his works; ponder the wonders of our evolution through natural selection, and attempt to foresee where this could take the humanity in future. Only through this reflective and thought provoking lens we may even lay down a path for a better future for our next generations. As an ex Muslim and a contributor to fighting Islam I think it is not impertinent of me to ask where the Islamic world and Muslim’s be in this process of reflection and study. But first if I may indulge in a slight digression here.
If you seriously study the Muslim ummah of present day you may be forgiven a little chuckle that perhaps Darwin ’s theory has left them out of the loop! But don’t feel too bad. Your naughty thought has crept in for good reason.
Through many years of being traumatized myself with the Islamic belief and after recovering from it, through observation and patient listening I have come to understand one thing very clearly. Having some of your brain cells corrupted by Islam turns a person into a gormless Entity. I have interconnected with the young, middle age and the elderly people who have been in some cases, not so much as soaked, but only touched by Islam and the most common thread which I found in all of them is their refusal to even contemplate rationality. You can produce two+two=four in front of them in any language but the ‘five’ Orwellian fingers are the only things they would bow and prostrate to.
I was in the same conundrum but once I left Islam I was astonished at the change. The proverbial heart became tender. It began to accept that all humans are equal and deserve equal treatment. That secret glee which I had felt when people were jumping down to save their lives from the trade towers turned into a source of deep shame. It dawned on me that Ghaznawi and Bin Qasim who were glorified in our text books were nothing but robbing, murdering slave makers. I began to consider India from where my family had migrated in 1947, with pride, acknowledging that I have more in common with them then the fascist, uncultured Arabs. Hamas and Hezbollah charters became clear as dangerous fascistic aims of annihilating Jews and destroying Israel . I began to be less hypocritical, and a lover of Golden rule, treat others as you wish to be treated yourself. This acceptance of rationality solved many puzzles for me and I could literally see the truth. I realized that garbage collector at our door for past 20years, who had recently started bringing his son with him for training and to whom my most loving mother occasionally gave some food, is a Christian and I subliminally ignored and avoided him because my mom kept his plate and glass separate and considered them unclean. The ‘Bhangi para’ a colony where all the sewerage workers and their families resided and was given a wide berth by us, was full of real people, all Hindus. The only time we lingered there was to ogle at their girls without much fear of retaliation. Sometimes I get a strong urge to go and apologize to them for this reprehensible childhood behavior. On a lighter note, I could watch great Holly and Bollywood films and dances without feeling guilty. I enjoy a good game of chess and although I did not practice Islam much I felt a little unease when teaching my son how to play because I learned from my father that Muhammad, who was averse to anything intelligent, said that it was like soaking your hands in pig’s blood. Eating when abroad has also become a less arduous task. I don’t have to find so called halal eateries anymore, mostly dingy and dirtier then their counterparts. I also wonder why I missed on all that variety of cultural delights for so many years.
Coming back to the main topic, for last 1400 years some Muslim thinkers and rulers have been aware that Islam not only restricts progressive thought and debate but metes out severe punishments to those who dare to go down this path. Despite that, some of them did attempt to tread a path to progress and paid a heavy price. As for masses, they have had no way out. They have been trapped in and suffered this atrocity since the time of Muhammad. The effect of this on the minds of Muslim ummah has been most remarkable. For the most part their minds seem to have become numb. Every time the mind suppresses a rational thought or contradiction of Islam another brain cell goes numb. Except for some life survival functions and hypocrisy of Islam they are unable to comprehend much else.
In my view this phenomenon is the real cause of the depravity, poverty and amoral attitudes of most so called followers of Islam. Although their evolved instincts try to lead them in the right direction they are being traumatized by the tyranny of Quran and Sunnah and consequently are floundering in a sort of death dance. This is sad. This is very unfair to their future generations. This path will never lead to walking shoulder to shoulder with the rest of civilization. It will only increase their suffering. What is even sadder is that the rest of civilization will have to resort to using their basic survival instincts to neutralize this army of Zombies. I don’t want to be a witness to that Armageddon. I want Muslims to read their scriptures and then jettison this cult back to the deserts of Arabia where it came from. I want them to join the humanity to reach the next level.

U are right sir.it is a vicious cycle.islam breeds---- poverty ----breeds radical islam.
let me explain the situation as i know in India.muslims send children to urdu schools where the emphasis is on koran.when the child comes out of school or college,he is immediately out of the job market.only job he could get would be a madrassa teacher or a mullah.Even islam cannot accomadate so many people.
Now the koran comes into play,the person feels he has been wronged & the koran goads him to fight for perceived injustice.
Best joke is majority dont read arabic but the mullahs let them believe all solutions are in koran.if the world is so simple then why encyclopedias have 20 to 30 volumes(still they don't cover everything),we can have single volume encyclopedias.

Fortunately for the progress of humanity, because Islam stubbornly refuses to obey one of the prime rules of Nature of adapting and changing to survive changes in our environment, it is doomed to die a natural death. A tree can only grow tall and strong by shedding its old bark and growing a new one or it will be strangled. Even so with a snake shedding its old skin to grow a new one!
Islam’s autocratic founder Muhammad despised all learning and rational inquiry. He took such great pride in his illiteracy that he even bragged about it in his Quran. His followers are only following his shocking example.

This is the biggest misconception in Islam, no doubt resulting from the constant stereotyping and bashing the media gives Islam. When a gunman attacks a mosque in the name of Judaism, a Catholic IRA guerrilla sets off a bomb in an urban area, or Serbian Orthodox militiamen rape and kill innocent Muslim civilians, these acts are not used to stereotype an entire faith. Never are these acts attributed to the religion of the perpetrators. Yet how many times have we heard the words 'Islamic, Muslim fundamentalist. etc.' linked with violence.
Politics in so called “Muslim countries" may or may not have any Islamic basis. Often dictators and politicians will use the name of Islam for their own purposes. One should remember to go to the source of Islam and separate what the true religion of Islam says from what is portrayed in the media. Islam literally means 'submission to God' and is derived from a root word meaning 'peace'.
Islam may seem exotic or even extreme in the modern world. Perhaps this is because religion doesn’t dominate everyday life in the West, whereas Islam is considered a 'way of life' for Muslims and they make no division between secular and sacred in their lives. Like Christianity, Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of religion, or on the part of those who have been expelled forcibly from their homes. It lays down strict rules of combat which include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees and livestock.

War, therefore, is the last resort, and is subject to the rigorous conditions laid down by the sacred law. The term 'jihad' literally means 'struggle'. Muslims believe that there are two kinds of jihad. The other 'jihad' is the inner struggle of the soul which everyone wages against egotistic desires for the sake of attaining inner peace.

How come you can't understand this ? Indonesian or Pakistanese Muslims hate Jews they never saw, who live thousands miles away. How come ? YES ! RELIGION ! QURAN !
Conflicts in Palestine, Spain or in Northern Ireland are or were not religious but political. If they were religious, Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists etc. in Europe, America, South America, Australia would be always at war like Sunnis and Shiites and Amarhyias. They are not and never will be. Islam is at war with all other religions and with itself. War against other religions is what the Quran teaches.
Are you so deprived of intelligence or of honesty to give us these two quotes from the Quran, out of context ? The word "limits" is there to fool those who did not read Quran. Yes, Yusuf Ali adds the word "limits" but I have two other translations who do not.(D. Masson and Kasimirsky) Allah does not love "transgressors". In the context of verses 2:190-195, “transgressors” are those who fear to fight in the cause of Allah because immediately after this word, it is said "And slay them wherever you catch them…” etc. This is the limit not to transgress: “And slay them wherever you catch them…” no less. If Quran is not clear, just blame your careless or lazy Allah. This is not the first time.
The word “limits” is irrelevant in this context. It is immediately denied because those who "practice oppression" are those who do not submit to Muslims and Islam. "But If they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." Yes, if they accept Islam or submit to Muslims, Allah is Oft-foregiving. The “limits” is when “ennemies” submit to Islam. Not before. If not, slay them. This is eternal words of Allah. This is not “contextual” or limited in the time.
These verses lay the foundation of Jihad. You just don't tell us the truth or you belie yourself.
Amim, did you ever think that, if you can say that I am your ennemy, I can say the same thing about you. It seems that, for Muslims, it is impossible to imagine that they could be, themselves, “ennemies”. They are never “ennemies” because they are the “true believers”, chosen of Allah. The ennemies are automatically those who are not “true believers”, so Muslims are always in their rights. They are always victims of agressions, never agressors. They can’t be agressors by divine decree. This is so ridiculous ! How come people can be so deprived of intelligence ?
Quran teaches to make war to unbelievers until they submit to Islam. If they don't submit, to kill them. Quran teaches Muslims to love Muslims only and to despise unbelievers. Quran teaches superiority of Muslims and Islam. Quran teaches Jihad. Quran teaches to hate Jews. Quran is a book of hate.
Amim, look at this honestly, Quran teaches hate. Read the Quran or look, outside, which fruits Quran bears. Free yourself from this religion of death. Begin to live as a true honest man. Begin to love. Begin to discover the world. Stop to fear. Read, not just to shield Islam, but to LEARN. There is so much to learn ! Open your mind and your arms to the world, to every one. Let people worship God as they learned it from their parents. Let people worship no God at all if they want. This is not Muslim’s business.

Please read the Bhagwat Geeta before commenting on Lord Krishna...he was the 9th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the creator. All the 16000 women that you are talking about , were actually the rishis who had requested the Lord through their yogic practices to let them play a part in his incarnated form.
Your ignorance flabargasts me, there is no mention of any physical relationship of Lord Krishna with any of those 16000 women. he is the "Moksha" daata..the giver of liberation...
