A Church And Christian Houses Were Attacked By A Muslim Mob in Pakistan

Another Church and two Christian houses, adjacent to the church, were ransacked by a Muslim mob in a Pakistani village Jethki, Sambrial tehsil of Sialkot district, some 30 kilometers from the district headquarter, on Sept. 11 around 12.30 pm, when the whole Pakistani nation was celebrating death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founding father of Pakistan. There are more than 100 houses of Muslims and 30 of Christians in the village.
This is the fourth incident of its kind within the last three months in which Muslims blame Christians for allegedly insulting Holy Quran and then attack their localities, burnt their houses and damaged Churches. Christians categorically deny the allegations. Although police and the local authorities confirmed that no such incidents were accrued, Christians were not provided safety and security.
President Asif Ali Zardari on Sept. 12 condemned the attack and directed the Minorities’ Minister Shahbaz Bhatti (the only Christian in the federal cabinet) to visit the area and submit a report on the matter as soon as possible. He also said that all expenses for the repair and reconstruction of the damaged Church building would be borne by the government.
According to the local Muslims, a Muslim girl Hina, 15, daughter of a local farmer Asghar Ali, was going home after attending a Quran class in a mosque in the village when five Christian boys, identified as Fanish Maseeh, Saleem Maseeh, Qaisar Maseeh, Danish Maseeh and Nadeem Maseeh, allegedly snatched the holy book from her and threw it into a drain.
However, police says that the incident happened when a spara (a copy of Quran) was fallen down by Hina on the ground that was coming home form a mosque. Meanwhile, a Christian boy allegedly teased her, who informed her mother about the incident. After knowing that, her mother stated shouting and alleged Christian boys for insulting the Holy Quran. Thr Muslim clerics then on mosque loudspeakers accused Christians of insulting the Holy Quran and announcing ‘to teach Christian a lesson.’ A mob soon gathered, beat up the Christians of the village. Under fear all Christians left the village immediately for their safety.
On the other hand, Christians of the village say that the situation was created when a Christian boy Fanis, 20, was known to be maintaining a love affair with Hina.
A mob of Muslim people armed with bricks, stones and wooden sticks stormed into a local Catholic church and set it ablaze by sprinkling patrol and kerosene oil in the church and outside the church. Rescue 1122 staff extinguished the fire in church after a great struggle.
The agitating mob of the Muslim people led by local Ulema (Muslim religious leaders) took out the agitational processions there after the Juma Prayers (Friday prayers, Muslims say their special weekly prayer on Friday), demanding immediate arrest of the accused Christians for desecrating the Holy Quran.
According to the media reports, a huge contingent of the police from entire Gujranwala Division besieged the area and started patrolling in the village to avert any further untoward incident. The personnel of police and Elite Force Commandoes took the positions on rooftops, shops and other buildings to ensure peace by sealing the area.
The local administration negotiated with the protesting people during which the PML-N (ruling party of Punjab province), Shabab-e- Milli, Sunni Tehreek and Jamaat-i-Islami, Jamaat Ahle-e-Sunnah (all Muslim religious parties) leaders gave a dead line of 24 hours to police for the arrest of the accused Christians. District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot Waqar Ahmad Chohan told the newsmen that the accused would be arrested within the next 24 hours. DPO said that the police have arrested accused Fanish Maseeh’s father Riasat Maseeh, 50, in this regard.
Meanwhile, according to Pakistan Press Association (PPI), the Christian religious leaders including Church of Pakistan Bishop Samuel Pervaiz of Sialkot and Pastor Javaid Silvestre told the newsmen that the situation was alarming, as the provincial government of Punjab has miserably failed in protecting the minorities and their sacred places in Pakistan. They demanded arrest of the accused that set the church ablaze.
According to National Commission for Justice and Peace’s statement, the most worrying factor is that in past two weeks similar situations have been witnessed in different places in Punjab where the Christians form a sizeable population, namely Chak No 8 near Chichawatni, Chak 133/ Amritnagar and Shantinagar (again) in district Khanewal, and Gagowali in Burewala.
“When Pakistani scholars assert that Pakistan is in the grip of extremism, they are pointing to two locations where it is gestated and spread around: the madrassa and the mosque. Alas, both places are free of activists carrying the moderate message of the state. Equally sadly, the Christian community has lost all faith in the state and is demanding repeal of the Blasphemy Law. The government has weakly conceded only “procedural changes” while admitting that the mischief lies in the Law,” an English language Pakistani newspaper Daily Times’ editorial says on Sept. 13.

Trouble lies in the teachings
Trouble lies in the teachings of deobandi Islam which is not very different to Wahhabi Islam. In India because of Hindu majority and secular goverment these deobandis seem mute. However their free presence can be felt everywhere in region including Kashmir, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afg.
The open agenda of these Muslims can be gauged from charters of Jamat E islami who want to Islamise the entire continent.
Recent rise of Right wing(Allthough do not know if its a right wing) has forced the Indian ulema to criticise terrorism. However they have never criticised any orgnaisation neither any incident. The faithful even comment that they criticise the Indian state terrorism in Kashmir.
Had they hardly known that in India because of democracy, Media, press and the leftists the kashmiri muslims are far more priveledged than even the middle class in remaining India. Freebies and freedom to accuse and spit on indian soldiers. Had they even taken a small leaf out of China then they would have undersood what is repression. While the kashmiri hindus were forced to leave while the Indian goverment watched, the hans went on rampage against the Uighurs. The famed chinese military action brought these uighurs down on their knees in few minutes.
The truth is terms like secularism, democracy mean nothing to muslims. They probably feel that this means that they can accuse the hosts of racism, fascism while they continue with their spree of cutting roots of such a society. Even if someone turns to tell them the real issue they can cow him down on grounds of victimisation and being a fundamentalist. Wow! I guess why most muslim countries have dictators is the solution. Dictators keep these muslims in check who otherwise will start killing themselves. The leftist states of china and russia behave excatly like these dictators. The free world including West, India, Israel etc continue to be accused of zionists and victimisers just because they have given the freedom to their guests to do so.
I am quite saddened because
I am quite saddened because in India Muslim accuse Hindus of being tormentors, racists, victimisers. The only mistake of Hindus is that they listen to these Muslims or their mistake is to allow Muslims to live in India even after partition.. Being an ex muslim, I can understand why Muslims can never come out of poverty. They simply cant. The Muslims who got rich and powerful in India using the state apparatus now are funding, aiding and abetting terrorism in India. The huge aid being given by Indian govt to madarsas and muslims is being turned to fight an internal war against Hindus. With glee I have heard many of my brothers remark that we use their money to destroy them. It shames the ethics out of me but I realise that some time back I was also like them.
The real persecution has happened in Muslim countries. Pakistan and Bangladesh where minorities were once more than 30% have been rubbled down. When these incidents are raised in India the Muslims remark that how does it matter whats happening in some other country. India chose to be secular while these countries chose to be Islamic so they are allowed to carry this blodshed. This is the mentality and understanding of secularism in Muslims in India.
What has happened in Gojra is no different to many of the incidents that must have happened prior to 1947 in Pre partition India. Tails of Quran destroying, Muslim beaten, etc etc are enough to cause Muslims to riot and kill, rape and do anything they please. This happens even today. The irony is once they finish with their demonic activities the media then goes all out to protect these Muslims. Even painting them as the victimised class. The media tells the world that these are slumdogs and at the receiving end of virtually everything. Police, media, Hindus etc etc. The truth remains hidden. The fact is Muslims enjoy all this. They recite their holy texts telling their brothers to be prepared. They telll that they have a bigger task to perform and time is nearing. Any good activity by Hindus or Goverment is just an act of help by almighty and isnt worth the salt. Peace is temporary and a rug to prepare for bigger destruction. There are so called moderate and nationalist Muslims who virtually ignore all this believeing it to have never happened or the poverty behind all this. They are like ostriches who keep blaming the Hindus but hve no guts to challenge these Mullahs.

We would better refer India as "Politically Correct India"
Normal Indians are kept far away from the grass root realities by Indian Government and Media. Hindus feel proud in telling that they are secular and give too much importance to hypocrite Muslims in secular India. This is something they should be ashamed of after knowing how Pakistan and Bangladesh treated their Minorities and that India has already divided because of Muslims.
As I said on some other comments, India should be declared a "Non Islamic Secular Republic" and deal with these so called Muslim Victims (they are everywhere in all secular countries) with the language they understand.

This is really sad! Governments should give all their citizens equal rights and follow standard morals...no killing, no rape, no robbery, etc. Why is that so hard?
It is obvious that Muslims have little to no tolerance for those of other religions. It is going to take a lot of bloodshed in order for a country such as Pakistan to become a peaceful country...if it ever does. I know Christians are becoming more and more fed up with the horrible mistreatment, but they should also be aware of the consequences they'll have to face...especially if they mess with a Muslima!

I was shocked to know that just 1 % of christian money is used to convert muslims, while 15% to convert hindus, 10% buddhists and other religions like zorastrianism, sikhism, rest money is used to maintain christians as christians.

Ever wondered why no incident of Bible / Gita / Torah being desecrated get reported and no other community gets violent at such incidents. I think it is beacause Muslims are always full of hatered for Non Muslims , koran being desecrated etc are made up to justify attacks on minorities.

Why dont you forget to write that Blasphemy Law is not for non-muslims only. If any muslims is found doing this type of act is also treated in the same way.

There is no lightly beating. If the beating is light, why call it beating after all? Islam respects woman according to allah's standard (7th century barbarian).

Look at what happened in Sri Lanka. For almost 30 years the govt. tried to talk sense to a maniac but failed. Finally he got back what he dished out. Now they are finally living in peace.
