You know lot about Islam and I am no where near to it. But may be muslims don't know about this truth in Hadith, but I feel that, even if they don't know the verse number and exact reference, they do always behave and act like they know all these things, like fitted in the chip.
This is so true in case of Love jihad, the trap for non Muslim girls to marry and convert to Islam. May be the Mullahs from mosque must be giving them so much basic Islamic education that, Muslim men usually don't miss minute details of the Quran and hadith.
