Iran's Stolen Election

Elections in the Islamic Republic of Iran have never been free. Candidates are screened and only those with proven loyalty to the regime are allowed to run. This time, only four candidates from a long list were qualified.  Polls, taken prior to the election indicated that Mir Hussein Mousavi, a reformist Islamist who during the war between Iran and Iraq acted as the prime minster was the forerunner.
