Introduction

Stop Blaming the Muslims

By Dr. Wasima Syed
2005/05/25

Any sane man understands that if he goes in a jungle and if a lion attacks and kills him, the lion cannot really be blamed. It's the victim's stupidity or maybe even foolhardiness. No law of the land will hold the animal guilty. It did what Mother Nature intended it to do.

Time To Go Home?

In the aftermath of the recent devastating earthquake in Iran, news media reported “a miracle”: a man, extracted from the rubble and thought to be dead, stirred on the way to the mass grave. At least two other similar cases were reported. When I read it, my first thought was: In the rush to bury the victims in order to avoid an epidemic, how many people failed to stir in time and were buried alive — for the second time within hours or, at most, days? How many of those would have been alive today had Iran not rejected Israel's offer of help?

Why They Fight

For some time now, I have been disenchanted with the main
stream news media be it TV or print. The title of this essay,
'Why they Fight' is also the title of the cover story in the latest
issue of Time magazine.
This refers to the latest chapter in the Arab-Israeli conflict which
was sparked off with the capture of three Israeli soldiers by HAMAS and Hizbollah.

I believe that the Time article does not give a complete picture and this is my attempt to answer the question of why they are fighting.

As absurd as it may be, some Muslims cannot even allow themselves to think that leaving Islam is an option, or even possible. They rather think that those who leave Islam are paid Jewish agents than accept the fact that people have freedom to think and some may even think that Islam is not for them. The following are my reasons:
