Dear Leading Feminist Spokeswoman,
I am writing to inquire if you know why there has been no discernable reaction by Western feminists and intellectuals to the oppression of women in the Middle East. Do you have any explanation for this mysterious silence?
Why has there never been a candle light vigil, a march in the night, a public statement of dissent and solidarity, a new Association formed, a visit made to Saudi Arabia or Pakistan or Afghanistan or Gaza by a famous Western feminist, no delegation to the UN, no banner waved, no scholarly conference, or ANY OTHER public act of protest by Western feminists and intellectuals to the crushing oppression that hundreds of millions of women endure throughout the Middle East? While you sit in your ivory towers doing research into who does what per cent of the dish-washing, Hundreds Of Millions of women are owned, traded, bought and sold, enclosed and suffocated.
Every woman ini Saudi Arabia and Egypt and millions elsewhere are under the strict authority and guardianship of a male, even a punk kid. Would you tolerate that for yourself, you, who won’t tolerate the word “he” used in public? The word “he” is enough to stir up a blizzard of social analysis, critique, agitation, angst, protest and righteous frenzy by the whole noisy shallow pack of you, but millions of girls getting genital mutilation and still this is not enough to inspire a letter to the editor from a prominent feminist spokeswoman. What kind of people are you? Do you think that a woman with no clit who is forcibly married to her stinky old uncle in the next village can truly discover herself as a sexually liberated being? Do you think she can reach the apex of her unshackled potential and fulfillment as a woman, like her sisters in the West? How would you feel if someone cut off your privates and traded you for a goat to a terrorist who hasn’t had a bath or a shave in fifteen years, and who cuts off your nose and ears when you finally run away? Why, it’s enough to make you douse yourself in gasoline and burn yourself to death. But hey, things happens. These people just have a different belief system. No one can really say what’s right and wrong. It’s all cultural, don’t you see, all cultural. It’s all conditioning; it’s the way they are raised. They are conditioned to douse themselves in gasoline and set themselves on fire. They don’t mind it. In their culture, a face full of acid just doesn’t hurt like it would for you and me. You have to look at it from a different prism. It’s not really evil. Evil is when a white man peeks at a woman’s tits. That’s evil, and we’re going to put a stop to it.
You feminist ladies in the west have ranted incessantly because more males seek technical education, but you have stayed silent as millions of women and girls are not even taught how to spell their name. THAT is not enough to get you off of your ample bums and do something about it. Why is this? Is it because they are not white?
Why have all of you been utterly silent for the last 10 years? Why have you said NOTHING?
Every day there is a new atrocity, a stoning, a gang rape and murder, a killing. And beyond this, everyday life is a suffocating bondage, a narrow, miserable imprisonment, for hundreds of millions of female human beings, the ones YOU are paid and depended on and educated and organized and able and funded and expected to represent and champion. That’s your JOB. It’s why you’re such a BIG SHOT. Well, you’re doing the sh!ts. Frankly, you STINK. You’re mute, dumb, silent, stupid, useless, unperturbed. To you, it’s not even happening. There is something wrong with you people. What kind of person doesn’t care enough about a face full of acid to even mention it in her next TV interview, academic paper, panel discussion, graduation address, book, appearance or opinion piece? Couldn’t you write just one of your op-eds in sympathy for the women of the Middle East? Don’t you even care? You all just carry on as if nothing is happening. This is truly incomprehensible behavior. It is truly amazing! You truly have a sickness. It is time to overcome and start acting.

In the West feminism is a symptom of an inferiority complex that resents men to want to put them down at every opportunity, from driving their cars to the way they get outraged the bathroom seat was left up. Their achievement has been to remove "chairman" to "chairperson" create positive discrimination to dumb down the workplace, demonize any creativity from child-raising into child support, education into indoctrination and displaced the father in the home. Very quickly every minority under the sun jumped on this freeloading bandwagon.
Now Muslims arrive. And they see no man in the home. Just a dysfunctional personality under the thumb of the gang leader, Mohammad, who was weak for the female form, to even screw a little girl for a sense of manhood. The Burkha is the sign men's powerlessness. Dogs on a leash – for touch a burkh'd woman and hands go missing. Feminists know this. It warms their gnarled hearts. Princess Diana learned, via her many consorts, to find the lowest and most insecure male, and suddenly she was not longer insecure herself. Funny how that works. The dhimmification of the male therefore had been achieved hundred of years ago. See the follower, know the master.
Now, your concern is that feminists do not protest for the real lives of real women under Islam. Well, the 'narcissism of Obama' means these ladies are above the common woman, The Breeders, and it does not hit their radar as they believe it could never happen to them. To know Muslims submit to their body form, and not Allah, is more than enough contempt to sustain them. Why remove a good thing they say?
People have to learn that whatever is different does not necessarily merit respect. Islamic culture appears exotic, but underneath the costumes there is a level of intolerance that would put the worst redneck to shame; ignorant and hateful people are everywhere.
Many liberals are really just alienated more than enlightened. They vent their frustrations on the prevailing culture for emotional reasons, and not because they have engaged in any thoughtful analysis.
I'd be happy to tell you why this is happening, Bessy.
It's because muslimahs in the West insist that it is "their choice" to wear hijab, to be openly sold in nikah, to obey imams without question, to obey their male MSA leaders without hesitation. Now these gals are safely ensconced in the West, where they can call the police when they get a good Koran 4:34 beating and can walk away when things get a little too Sharia-tough. They know this and they use it in their own lives when it's necessary. Yet the taqqiyah and kitman training of Islam continues for them — they must protest that Islam gives them "freedom," even though their prophet was a woman-murderer, rapist and child molester; even though he called them "dirt to be ploughed" and "deficient in intellect and morals" and "domestic animals."
It's U.S.-resident muslimahs (well, actually their male owners) who have figured out the keys to triggering a Western feminist's response. It's all about "choice." It's a "choice" to wear a dehumanizing, degrading head apparatus and clothing that has been proven to produce physical illness, not to mention being completely inappropriate and thus "immodest" to the host culture. It's a "choice" to be herded into squalid mosque closets in order to protect Muslim males from "temptation" while they present their rear ends to Allah for symbolic penetration. If you say the word "choice" to a Western feminist, you've won the war — and if you add the words "colonialist" or "imperialist" or "privileged," you've won it in a landslide.
If there remains a single thinking feminist who protests after this onslaught, all a muslimah has to say is that the honor-murders, the acid-burnings, the rapes and imprisonments, the whippings and child-brides and wife-beatings, all that is "cultural," not Islamic — despite the fact that these horrors occur in spectacular overproportions everywhere in the Muslim world despite geographical and developmental differences; the only shared parameter is Islam, Islam, Islam.
Look at any Western based muslimah website if you'd like proof. They call it "genital cutting," not mutilation. They protest that honor murders for Islamic pride are simply "domestic violence," as if Western men regularly rape and murder their daughters over a slave rag on their heads. They repeat the ridiculous taqqiyah mantra that "daraba" means "go away" and not "beat" your wife in Koran 4:34. And while they whine that Western media focuses entirely on the head apparatus, they complain among themselves about how awful it is.
That's why this is happening, Bessy. The Western muslimahs.
Feminism emerged as a punishment for the sins of the Western man. The weaker can become stronger in the Christian civilization. The credit goes to Jesus who asked intelligent questions and stood for justice. In the Islamic civilization there is no hope for the Muslim women, unless Islam crumbles. Anyway I thank Bessy for stirring up Western Feminism.
The gender inequality in the muslim world is the muslims women's own fault. The west cannnot help them if they don't want to help themselves. Western womens mentality is the exact opposite of muslim women. They would rather die than being the slave of a man.

There is a serious drawback in the western society when it comes to child custody laws. Men are treated like rubbish as if they don't have a heart. Divorced women get rich alimony, child custody, and benefits which men can only dream about. These discriminatory laws were pushed in by feminists. For example, if a man declares that the newborn child is his by signing a document, he cannot at any stage stop paying child support even if he establishes that he is not the biological father of that child. A rich friend of mine lost 70% of his hard earned property to his lazy wife who initiated divorce. 70% because she got the custody of their two kids. She never worked throughout their marriage. Behold, she gets 70% share after divorce! He gets to visit them once a week. Isn't this sheer injustice. This happened in Australia. If this discrimination doesn't stop then those stressed men are likely to accept an ideology that oppresses women– Islam. I am not anti women. However I am against biased feminist attitude of western laws. I advice all western men to sign a prenuptial agreement before marriage.

Perhaps one of the reasons why feminists in Western countries largely ignore the plight of women under Islam is that citizens still think primarily nationally and then consider Muslims a minority and then get protective about the "poor, scolded and disrespected, hurt Muslims". But IMO the Muslims are more inclined to think globally, in Ummah-context, and the Western citizens also should like primarily global.
And Ayaan Hirsi Ali years ago already pointed out that there is a different perception of accountability-responsibility by many Western citizens towards A. Other Western citizens and B. Muslims, non-Western people.
It seems to be a sort of NOBLESSE OBLIGE. Many citizens indeed admit that "we in a higher civilised society/ culture should behave better than those in lesser civilised societies/ cultures or those originating from them". I also met persons who claim that those with most power (The Westerners, esp.the Americans) should meet higher standards than those with less power.
But IMO that is such bull-shit! One can imagine that there exist humans like the angels, meaning that they are humans who take full responsibility-accountability, but still only behave good and wise all the time. I see no such humans anywhere. So I see no Muslims that can be held accountable but at the same time have nothing to blame.
On the other hand one can imagine that some humans are childish, simple-minded and animal-like all their lives. And now it seems that that is the subconscious reason why the Western feminist do not hold the Muslims, and especially the males, accountable with the same standards they have held Western males accountable in the past.
I think it is high time for feminists to apply exactly the same standards to both Western and Muslim men, and women too. There may be noblesse among us and higher evolved civilisations/ cultures than others. And yes, Americans and Westerners do hold much power, but that still leaves Muslims also with considerable room for reaction to it. IMO these reasons can be no justification at all for different standards of accountable-holding for any sane adult human.

But the feminists in the UK have created the Equality Act 2010, that title alone reveals their Communist agenda for all to see, because their law does hold people accountable to different standards based on their “protected characteristics” where some people are more equal than others. Before the Guttenberg printing press,bibles & other books were written by hand that was a painstakingly task which took months to write a single book.Books were incredibly valuable during this period.The Bible was read each day during mass & then locked away for its protection,since most churches only had one available.This was not done to keep people from reading the bible but to protect it.The Catholic church is responsible for the bible as we know it today.Why would they burn it or burn people reading it?

@cat, I agree for 100 % with your excellent post. It seems to me that Western Muslima's are confused, ignorant of the many good things they received from living in Democracies. And often quite treacherous towards those Democracies because of being more allied and loyal to their enemies than to their people. And quite treacherous too towards their Muslima-sisters who are heavily oppressed by Muslim men in Islamic countries.
In Holland where I live there is now a big government-programme against domestic violence, honour killings, female genital mutilation, forced marriages and oppression of girls & women. And now there are experts who are employed to combat these societal problems. And many of them are Muslima's! And they and other "experts" claim that these societal problems are not caused by Islam! They say that not Islam but other factors cause them!
Their reasoning goes thus: Because all these mentioned societal problems ALSO occur among Christians, Hindus and Atheists etc, that must automatically mean that Islam does NOT cause them (at all). But it only means that Islam is not the only factor that causes them, but not that Islam has no influence on their occurrence.
It would be better if people researched on the one hand these societal problems well and on the other hand studied Islam and its most prevalent interpretations well. And then undoubtedly the conclusion would not be that Islam has a diminishing or neutral influence on the occurrence of these societal problems, but a detrimental, exacerbating effect.
And that would mean that something had to be done against this bad influence of Islam, because the interests of victims and the safety of citizens must trump the protection of any religion when it has a detrimental influence.
But look what is the case now; many of the current media, politicians, feminists and citizens seem so determined to protect Islam, that they either let that be more important than the safety and well-being of women in society or even that they are determined to deny any possible detrimental influence of Islam.
It seems that they started with defending MUSLIMS and ended with protecting ISLAM, as being neutral, while at the same time often being Christian, Atheist or anything but Islamic by conviction. Why can't they try to help Muslims but reject Islam, when it is clearly shown how detrimental it is to Western values?
You're forgetting that during this period the Church & State had already been separated.The Catholic Church condemned William Tyndale as a heretic for printing corrupt copies of the bible.There was too much errors,omissions & interjections.BUT the church itself did not kill him,Tyndale was turned over to the secular authority.TYNDALE WAS PUT TO DEATH BY CIVIL JUDGES for writing material that advocated overthrowing the establishment,which was secular at this time.
The so-called Dark Ages lasted for about 1000 years.It was not as bad as hollywood would have us believe.More people were persecuted & massacred during the 20th century than the entire 1000 year dark age period.Yes,there were some corrupt church officials but people were not killed for reading a bible by christians.

One person by the name of William Tyndale was hung by rope,then burnt,which was ultimately the responsibility of the secular authorities but somehow the imagination runs wild & we get the impression that during 1000 years there were probably thousands of people being burnt for reading the bible.

Y. Feminist representatives could easily send a delegation to petition governments to act against FGM for example. Feminist groups could easily hold a candle light vigil in memory of honor killing victims or victims of acid attacks. I have asked many women why this ‘arguing against interest’ is going on and am met with blank stares. There is no question that feminists WILL BE THREATENED by these killers because that is what JIHAD is all about. Irshad Manji tried to speak out and has now left Canada and lives guarded by Israeli bodyguards. No Islamic feminism is possible for more than a few months…until they learn your address!

I don't think you really know what you are talking about. On September 17, 2011 First Lady Laura Bush gave a speech about this very thing, about how the war in Iraq is about saving the women. It spread every where, NGOs and grass roots organizations have been reaching out but 1. very hard to do in a current war zone, and 2. very hard when NO ONE WANTS YOU THERE.
I know its really hard, but do some research and see what happens. Read about the actual efforts going on before you complain about the lack.
Also, learn about the bad rap sheet Western Feminism has, and the fact that even mentioning feminism is a great way to completely ruin your whole effort because NO ONE wants to have anything to do with those raging bull dykes, not that they are but that's what they are perceived to be.
