Sharia for Dummies
Imam Feisal Abdel Rauf claims that the US constitution is Sharia compliant. Now let us examine below a few laws of Sharia to see if Imam Rauf is truthful or a fraud:
1- Jihad defined as “to war against non-Muslims to establish the religion” is the duty of every Muslim and Muslim head of state (Caliph). Muslim Caliphs who refuse jihad are in violation of Sharia and unfit to rule.
2- A Caliph can hold office through seizure of power meaning through force.
3- A Caliph is exempt from being charged with serious crimes such as murder, adultery, robbery, theft, drinking and in some cases of rape.
4- A percentage of Zakat (alms) must go towards jihad.
5- It is obligatory to obey the commands of the Caliph, even if he is unjust.
6- A caliph must be a Muslim, a non-slave and a male.
7- The Muslim public must remove the Caliph in one case, if he rejects Islam.
8- A Muslim who leaves Islam must be killed immediately.
9- A Muslim will be forgiven for murder of : 1) an apostasy 2) an adulterer 3) a highway robber. Making vigilante street justice and honor killing acceptable.
10- A Muslim will not get the death penalty if he kills a non-Muslim.
11- Sharia never abolished slavery and sexual slavery and highly regulates it. A master will not be punished for killing his slave.
12- Sharia dictates death by stoning, beheading, amputation of limbs, flogging and other forms of cruel and unusual punishments even for crimes of sin such as adultery.
13- Non-Muslims are not equal to Muslims and must comply to Sharia if they are to remain safe. They are forbidden to marry Muslim women, publicly display wine or pork, recite their scriptures or openly celebrate their religious holidays or funerals. They are forbidden from building new churches or building them higher than mosques. They may not enter a mosque without permission. A non-Muslim is no longer protected if he commits adultery with a Muslim woman or if he leads a Muslim away from Islam.
14- It is a crime for a non-Muslim to sell weapons to someone who will use them against Muslims. Non-Muslims cannot curse a Muslim, say anything derogatory about Allah, the Prophet, or Islam, or expose the weak points of Muslims. However, the opposite is not true for Muslims.
15- A non-Muslim cannot inherit from a Muslim.
16- Banks must be Sharia compliant and interest is not allowed.
17- No testimony in court is acceptable from people of low-level jobs, such as street sweepers or a bathhouse attendant. Women in such low level jobs such as professional funeral mourners cannot keep custody of their children in case of divorce.
18- A non-Muslim cannot rule even over a non-Muslims minority.
19- Homosexuality is punishable by death.
20- There is no age limit for marriage of girls under Sharia. The marriage contract can take place anytime after birth and consummated at age 8 or 9.
21- Rebelliousness on the part of the wife nullifies the husband’s obligation to support her, gives him permission to beat her and keep her from leaving the home.
22- Divorce is only in the hands of the husband and is as easy as saying: “I divorce you” and becomes effective even if the husband did not intend it.
23- There is no common property between husband and wife and the husband’s property does not automatically go to the wife after his death.
24- A woman inherits half what a man inherits.
25- A man has the right to have up to 4 wives and she has no right to divorce him even if he is polygamous.
26- The dowry is given in exchange for the woman’s sexual organs.
27- A man is allowed to have sex with slave women and women captured in battle, and if the enslaved woman is married her marriage is annulled.
28- The testimony of a woman in court is half the value of a man.
29- A woman looses custody if she remarries.
30- To prove rape, a woman must have 4 male witnesses.
31- A rapist may only be required to pay the bride-money (dowry) without marrying the rape victim.
32- A Muslim woman must cover every inch of her body which is considered “Awrah,” a sexual organ. Some schools of Sharia allow the face and some don’t.
33- A Muslim man is forgiven if he kills his wife caught in the act of adultery. However, the opposite is not true for women since he “could be married to the woman he was caught with.”
The above are clear cut laws in Islam decided by great Imams after years of examination and interpretation of the Quran, Hadith and Mohammed’s life. Now let the learned Imam Rauf tell us what part of the above is compliant with the US constitution?

WHY DA PROPHET MUHAMAD MARIED HADHRAT AISHA
The Prophet married Aisha primarily for three reasons:
a. To reinforce the friendly relations already existing with Abu Bakr (his closest companion).
b. To educate and train Aisha for the purposes of Islam.
c. To utilise her capabilities for the sake of Islam.
2. Her Marriage with the prophet was a Wahy (Divine Revelation). She, herself relates from the Prophet. "He said, 'I saw you in dreams three times. The angel brought you to me and you were clad in white silk. He (the angel) said that it was your consort and he (angel) showed me by opening your face. You are just like that…" Sahih Muslim, Vol.2, p. 285.
3. Aisha (r.a.) was born after her parents had embraced Islam. Therefore, she was free from the defilement of polytheism right from her birth.
4. In her youth, already known for her striking beauty and her formidable memory, she came under the loving care and attention of the Prophet himself. As his wife and close companion she acquired from him knowledge and insight such as no woman has ever acquired.
Aisha lived on almost fifty years after the passing away of the Prophet. She had been his wife for a decade. Much of this time was spent in learning and acquiring knowledge of the two most important sources of God's guidance, the Qur'an and the Sunnah of His Prophet. Aisha (r.a.) was one of the three wives (the other two being Hafsa (r.a.) and Umm Salama (r.a.) who memorised the Revelation. Like Hafsa (r.a.), she had her own script of the Qur'an written after the Prophet had died.
So far as the Hadith or sayings of the Prophet is concerned, Aisha (r.a.) is one of four persons (the others being Abu Hurayra, Abdullah ibn Umar, and Anas ibn Malik) who transmitted more than two thousand sayings. From her, 2210 Hadith have come, out of which 174 Hadith are commonly agreed upon by both Bukhari and Muslim.
Many of her transmissions pertain to some of the most intimate aspects of personal behaviour which only someone in Aisha's position could have learnt. What is most important is that her knowledge of Hadith was passed on in written form by at least three persons including her nephew Urwah who became one of the greatest scholars among the generation after the Companions.
It is the claim of the Scholars of Islam that without her, half of the Ilm-I-Hadith [knowledge, understanding of the Hadith (and Islam)] would have perished.
5. Many of the learned companions of the Prophet and their followers benefited from Aishah's knowledge. Abu Musa al-Ash'ari once said:
"If we companions of the Messenger of God had any difficulty on a matter, we asked Aisha about it."
"Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Said ibn al-Musayyab that Abu Musa al-Ash'ari came to Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said to her, "The disagreement of the companions in a matter which I hate to bring before you has distressed me." She said, "What is that? You did not ask your mother about it, so ask me." He said, "A man penetrates his wife, but becomes listless and does not ejaculate. "She said, "When the circumcised part passes the circumcised part ghusl is obligatory." Abu Musa added, "I shall never ask anyone about this after you."
Al-Muwatta of Imam Malik, Hadith 2.75.
Arwa Bin Zubair says,
"I did not find anyone more proficient [than Aisha (r.a.)] in the knowledge of the Holy Qur'an, the Commandments of Halal (lawful) and Haram (prohibited), Ilmul-Ansab and Arabic poetry. That is why, even senior companions of the Prophet used to consult Aisha (r.a.) in resolving intricate issued".
Ibn Qayyim and Ibn Sa'ad, Jala-ul-Afham, vol. 2, p. 26.
Abu Musa al-Ash'ari says:
"Never had we (the companions) had any difficulty for the solution of which we approached Aisha and did not get some useful information from her".
Sirat-I-Aisha, on the authority of Trimidhi, p. 163.
6. As a teacher she had a clear and persuasive manner of speech and her power of oratory has been described in superlative terms by al-Ahnaf who said: "I have heard speeches of Abu Bakr and Umar, Uthman and Ali and the Khulafa up to this day, but I have not heard speech more persuasive and more beautiful from the mouth of any person than from the mouth of Aisha."
The Prophet said,
"The superiority of 'Aisha to other ladies is like the superiority of Tharid (i.e. meat and bread dish) to other meals. Many men reached the level of perfection, but no woman reached such a level except Mary, the daughter of Imran and Asia, the wife of Pharaoh."
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith, Narrated by Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari Hadith 4.643.
Musa Ibn Talha (r.a.) says,
"I did not see anyone more eloquent than Aisha (r.a.)"
Mustadrak of Hakim, vol.4, p.11.
7. Men and women came from far and wide to benefit from her knowledge.
Aisha's great interest in the study of the Qur'an is understandable. She was an eye-witness to a number of revelations and had therefore a clear idea of the circumstances in which they were revealed. It was on her bed alone (and no other consort's) that the Prophet received Wahy (Divine Revelations) several times. This helped her in interpreting the verses.
8. At the time of the Prophet's death, the Prophet's head was on her lap. It was in her quarters that the Prophet was buried.
The life of Aisha (R) is a proof that a woman can be far more learned than men and that she can be the teacher of scholars and experts. Her life is also a proof that a woman can exert influence over men and women and provide them with inspiration and leadership. Aisha (R) is a continuing inspiration and role model to today's youth who are diligently searching for an example amongst the pop stars, movie actresses and sports stars. May the memory of her's live forever in the heart of the Muslim Ummah and may Allah grant her the highest abode in Paradise…Ameen.
Conclusion
It was the aforementioned qualities of Aisha (r.a.) and the Prophet's guidance in moulding these capabilities for the service of Islam, were the main reasons, why the Prophet Married young Aisha (r.a.), and not the perverted reasons brought forth by misguided orientalists.
Muslims invite all sincere humans to study the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon) in the light of the authentic sources of the Qur'an and the Sunnah (exemplary sayings and deeds of the Prophet) and judge for themselves where the truth lies. Indeed, by recognising the truth of Islam as the final and complete Guidance sent by our Creator can humanity find lasting peace in this world and a means of salvation from the hell fire in the hereafter.

Look at what happened in paikistan recently between suni and shia, look at any Islamic countries, you name it any good Islamic country that support human right or at least democracy, most of them dictatorship. Do you want this world turn into like those countries under sharia law, where woman don’t have equal status and rights?? Why you have to hate the jew whom may be you never met?

First of all, you need to update your knowledge on social problems and world affairs. West is having low birth rate not because of abortions, but by practising safe sex and by using some thing called contraceptives. I'm sure muslims have never heard of them. Educated people don't want to have children if they can not afford to give them a good life. Muslims' way of life is definitely affecting us indirectly because a majority of muslims live in poverty and on welfare checks and benefits and our tax dollars are being spent to support them. Ever increasing Muslim population has destroyed many cultures and civilizations worldwide in the past 1400 years. That is why it has become our concern now. We would not have bothered if all the muslims are confined only to Saudi Arabia, each one has 4 wives and produces even 60 children. When it has become a threat to the world, we have to address it.
Slave of Allah, it's obvious you deeply love your religion. I wish that you have a happy life and at the same time do NOT help and promote, consciously or unconsciously, the very enemies of our open society.
But your belief is only your version of Islam. Almost certainly people of your version cherrypick what they like in the Quran and Hadiths (which they also cherrypick with accepting or rejecting). And people of your version ignore parts of Quran and Hadiths what they don't like. And parts of Quran and Hadiths have been shown to contradict, so cherrypicking and ignoring is necessary. But that's not a clear and easy to understand perfect Holy message then.
You speak to us about what Islam MEANS. Well, our side has it's own experts about that and they are very well informed. But Islam's own rule says you don't have to do, know or believe much to earn the name of Muslim. Certainly not what you know and believe. No, it suffices to be born or converted into a Muslim, say the Shahada, promise to live by the rules. It is much more difficult to become a non-Muslim, once you are considered a Muslim.
So we have to deal with ALL Muslims, including the terrorists. And these terrorists are really dedicated, they often give their lives. And they do it in the name of Islam. Which they often have studied deeply and daily. You can't dismiss them so easily, they have exactly the same Quran and Hadith, they just cherrypick and ignore differently.
Your real problem lies not with Ali Sina, his writers and posters. Your real problem could well be that he, Nonie Darwish and Islam-critics are right about you, telling us that you want a society with different theocratic laws, as you can read in "shariah for dummies" above.
Or , if you are perfectly willing to be subservient to our democratically achieved laws, even if in contradiction with shariah law, as indicated above by Nonie Darwish, your real problem is with your fellow Muslims, who interpret Quran and Hadiths in a way that is very hostile to our laws and ways of organising society, hostile to our freedom.
You need to declare yourself loyal part of the democratic community, worldwide, over and above being a loyal part of the Ummah. Or proudly admit you are a follower of Theocratic laws, contradicting some of our essential Democratic laws. And face the consequences, as you are a sane adult human, who made such a choice.

Do not worry about what the 13-15 year olds do in the west. Their parents, teachers and the western society as a whole will deal with such issues. You just worry about how you will spend the rest of your life sharing your husband with 3 other women as per your muslim traditions and also start worrying about your own 6 year old daughter (when you have one) who will be given in marriage by your husband to a 50+ year old guy, when you will have no say in the matter. She will come to know about her Islam real well, when she gets married to a true muslim and becomes his slave in stead of a slave of allah. Not only she has to share him with 3 other women, raise his humpteen number of children and has to endure all kinds of abuses, but also she will not even have an access to the internet to let us know that she was wrong all along defending Islam pathetically and that she is regretting every minute of her miserable life! Narrated 'Ursa:
The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with 'Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death).
You know according quran Muhammad is perfect and highest creation that has to be followed. According to your opinion, is it sunah and should be emulate by all pious muslim men? Is this what allah expect to be followed?

Slave of Allah, what you tell us, is how really Islam really is? Was meant to be by Allah?
But Quran and Hadith are very ambiguous, self-contradicting. And Ali Sina and Nonie Darwish above, with 33 parts of anti-Democratic laws, show that there are many other logical but bad explanations of Quran and Hadiths.
Maybe the bad people in Islam got it right and your teachers wrong. Or maybe it is more important what Muslims THINK/ INTERPRET/ UNDERSTAND than what Allah and Mohammed back then MEANT. Because the infidels have to deal with ALL Muslims, not just your group.
Your biggest fault may be stubborn clinging to very old texts from a different past without adapting the texts when there are many interpretations, misunderstandings, contradictions. Western laws are much better, because they can get improved, made clear, contradictions can get removed. And if critical people like Ali Sina would criticize Western laws the way he criticized Islam, the Western people would simply improve them and they would be better because of that and Ali Sina would have been a helper for that. But you Muslims cannot improve your most important guiding texts one iota and you only can protest in anger when a critic wants to help you improve.
And maybe you are largely right and you are largely good, but still the religion Islam profits and the other religions suffer from the terrorism and oppression of bad Muslims, so you, Slave-Of-Allah, also profit from the bad Muslims and you are one with them in the Ummah.
You are a sane adult human, you can think well, and you have responsibilities and Ali Sina and writers and posters here tell you about the consequences of not joining good democratic forces against bad Islamic theocratic people. But you are ignoring or denying your responsibility in that.
And oooooh, how surprised you are when the good Democratic people listen to and are very fond of Ali Sina and other Islam-critics!
