COGNITIVE DISSONANCE AND ISLAMIC DEVIANT REACTION

Dr. Babu Suseelan

The world is fast changing. Philosophy, sociology, psychology, science,
technology, and living concepts are fast changing. The dramatic change in
culture, environment and thought system influences nations, groups,
individuals and families. Dramatic changes create an uncomfortable
feelings, a Cognitive Dissonance in us. Normal, healthy, civilized people
adjust to this cognitive dissonance resort to motivational change to
reduce dissonance. We do this by changing our attitudes, belief and
actions. Some neurotic individuals continue the old, dysfunctional belief
system and try to hide behind a thick wall of denial and try to reduce
dissonance by blaming others for their dicomfortable feeling caused by
sudden changes. Muslims react to sudden changes resorting to their own
defense mechanisms, rationalization and neurotic responses to reduce
discomforts.

How do Muslims respond to Cognitive Dissonance? Islamic nations,
communities, groups and individual cling on to outdated, desert originated
dogmatic belief system and follow dysfunctional action strategies to
reduce discomfort from cognitive dissonance. Muslims refuse to change
their deviant belief system, attitude towards infidels, and embrace the
desert fundamentalist dogma and reductionist and false belief system.
They also construct a wall of denial, blame game and justification of
their sixth century doomed dogma. Educated, cultured, and skilled
professionals and laymen who adjust to rapid changes promote coexistence,
peace and harmony and spirituality.

It is time for Muslims around the world to realize that the power has
shifted from those who follow rigid, non-compromising
and reductionist and dysfunctional belief system. Those Jihadis who cling
to old ways and indulge in blame game are doomed to extinction.

The new global leaders will be who can transmit new knowledge, freedom,
coexistence, and reason to its followers. Those who accept new knowledge,
embrace changes, accept emerging technology and responsible behavior can
build new empires. It is imperative for Jihadis to realize that they
cannot move forward by looking backward and finding answers for new
problems from their desert, doomed Islam. In this ever changing world,
Jihadis cannot move forward, influence people with Islamic swords and
crude bombs any more.

Since Muslims are determined to promote Allahism through Jihadi terrorism,
they have two choices today. To be a member of the winning, civilized
world community by accepting pluralism and changing concepts or to
continue Islamic obsession and continue their compulsive-deviant behavior.
To be accepted as a member of the civilized world community Muslims must
abandon their past brutal behavior.

THE ISLAMIC PARADOX

How do Muslims react to changes in knowledge? Changes of all
kinds—social-cultural-technological-political-psychological-religious
and philosophical is happening at the terrific phase around the world. If
Muslims want to enjoy freedom, peace and coexistence, they have to abandon
Islamic plan for conquering the world for Allah. If they reduce results from
cognitive dissonance, Muslims have to unlearn what they have learned from
Islamic school, and relearn positive way of living. Rather than trying to
resist change, Jihadis need to learn how to embrace coexistence, change,
and work for the benefit of all and not for the benefit of Muslims alone
or work for promoting crazy Ideas of Mohammad.

Rather than trying to refuse new cognitive processes and change, Muslims
must seek harmony, peace, coexistence, tolerance and pluralism. Jihadis
must abandon terrorism and violence in the name of Allah. Instead of
fighting against infidels and kafirs who advocate changes or revisions for
Islam, Muslims must learn to live harmoniously in a democratic society and
learn religious tolerance.Jihadis must learn from past mistakes, and not
repeat or resort to past Islamic brutality.

No society can survive for long with terrorism. Muslim’s obsession and
compulsion on Islamic trilogy wreck havoc in their lives and around the
world.. Those who are trapped in their closed, rigid thinking may find it
hard to escape to freedom.

  2. Dear Mr.Suseelan

Thanks for the pleasure of your article.

So, do you think there is no trilogy with your Hindu fundamentalists? In India, is there any common "Hinduism" from Kashmir to Kanya kumari?

In one part, an idol with the head of an elephant is worshipped. In another part, a deity of a monkey is worshipped. In most parts, snakes (both statues & live) are worshipped. Doesn't it resemble 'trilogy' eerily? (pardon me for hiding a matter that a deity with the head of pig [called Varaha] which is also being worshipped by Hindus – mainly because there's a chance of invoking the anger of the Jews).

Your article seems to be the one among 'high-quality' in terms of language and euphemism. Can you please explain how come you allegedly complain that we, Muslims, are hiding behind a "thick wall of denial"? Have you ever came across the "neurotic responses" of your Hindu kins when their religion is criticized?

    Let peace prevail,

    Yours lovingly,

    Junaid

You are a perfect example of “COGNITIVE DISSONANCE AND ISLAMIC DEVIANT REACTION”. you are hinding behind a “thick wall of denial” by critizing hinduism thus diverting attention from Islam and this topic in particular.
I look forward to seeing your response to my statement. I have a feeling that there will be more denial.

  7. It is time for Muslims around the world to realize that the power has shifted

and reductionist and dysfunctional belief system.

    ==

Yes the power has shifted from Christianity to Atheism, and the gullible are turning to Islam.

The core principle of law and order has deteriorated due to good solid religion not being practiced at home.

It is SAID THAT women are the ones who are turning to Islam in USA, tide has turned UNFORTUNATELY FOR THE WORSE

  8. It is better to worship Gods who have monkey heads and elephant heads who teach moral behavior rather than follow shapeless, formless devils who chose pedophile, rapist prophets who teach their followers to commit pedophilia, rape, sexual slavery, genocide of infidels etc.

  9. Cognitive Islamic dissonance and deviation is when the pious fails to see the sty in the eye of their own religion and readily recognize the sty in the eye of religions other than Islam.

What of the Kaaba as Idol, that huge block of exquisitely fabric covered stone! A blatant pagan relic supposedly cleansed and rededicated as the House of the pagan God Allah! Muslims purposely bow and prostrate towards this pile of rocks, yet deny the pagan idol worship significance of doing so.

What of the broken Black stone meteorite idol rock, that spurious pagan relic rededicated to the sanctity of supposed monotheism!

What of the cursing at the totem idols of Mina: the Ramy Al Jimar (rock throwing) at Jumrah-tul-Oola, Jumrah-tul-Wusta and Jumrah-tul-Aqbah, surely these are ancient pagan retained rituals and relics (idols) grafted into Islam!

Cognitive Islamic dissonance and deviation is when Muslims fails to see the sty in the eye of their own religion and readily recognize the sty in the eye of religions other than Islam.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 26, Number 675: Narrated Zaid bin Aslam from his father who said: "Umar bin Al-Khattab addressed the Corner (Black Stone) saying, 'By Allah! I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you.' Then he kissed it and said, 'There is no reason for us to do Ramal (in Tawaf) except that we wanted to show off before the pagans, and now Allah has destroyed them.' 'Umar added, '(Nevertheless), the Prophet did that and we do not want to leave it (i.e. Ramal).'

Cognitive Islamic dissonance, deviation and denial are when Islam fails to see the sty in the eye of their own religion and readily recognize the sty in the eye of religions other than Islam. The insipid pious reaction is they see, hear and speak no evil of the deficiencies of having Idols belonging to and of Islam.

  10. There is nothing wrong with "Idols" per say…only abrahamic religions have irrational fear for Idols. However these followers have no trouble in believing a "god" that teach their followers to commit (either in past or present) pedophilia, sexual slavery of even little girls, kidnapping women and little girls, genocide of even little boys etc.

  11. This I say is the real cognitive dissonance of all abrahamic followers…

  12. @junaid:

shamu16 said it all in a nutshell about you. Why do you think that attacking or criticizing another religion will help Islam in any way when you actually have nothing to defend Islam? Wafa Sultan once said in a TV interview that "I don't care if people worship a rock or a stone as long as they do not throw it on me". The world wouldn't have bothered, FFI and other such sites wouldn't have come to existence and Dr. Suseelan wouldn't have written the above article if the followers of Mohammad haven't become quite troublesome to the world and haven't caused so much of destruction in the name of Islam and Allah. Islam means violence and that is what is being preached in your holy Quran and you just can not justify its evil and unholy teachings by comparing it with any other religion.

  13. The author is right. But the change has to come from the top. All the despots that rule most islamic countries are sitting on a ton of oil. Oil is the backbone of fundamentalist Islam. The day the west and the third world stop depending on oil and the middle eastern countries run out of money, islam will begin to adapt. In the end it comes down to money. No ideology or religion can survive without financial backing.

  14. To Junaid:

As long as they are not forcing people to follow their religion, Hindus can worship whatever they want.

    I say:

The day the west stop depending on oil and middle eastern countries run out of money, Islamic countries will just go back to a way of life before oil transformed the Middle East.

  17. Cognitive dissonance perfectly explains why muslims are close minded. Further their denial is explained by confirmation bias. I hope some one come up with good book with comprehensive scientific explanation of the self righteous behaviour of muslims.
