The Netherlands to abandon multi-culturalism

The Dutch government says it will abandon the long-standing model of multiculturalism that has encouraged Muslim immigrants to create a parallel society within the Netherlands.
A new integration bill (covering letter and 15-page action plan), which Dutch Interior Minister Piet Hein Donner presented to parliament on June 16, reads: “The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people. In the new integration system, the values of the Dutch society play a central role. With this change, the government steps away from the model of a multicultural society.”
The letter continues: “A more obligatory integration is justified because the government also demands that from its own citizens. It is necessary because otherwise the society gradually grows apart and eventually no one feels at home anymore in the Netherlands. The integration will not be tailored to different groups.”
The new integration policy will place more demands on immigrants. For example, immigrants will be required to learn the Dutch language, and the government will take a tougher approach to immigrants to ignore Dutch values or disobey Dutch law.
The government will also stop offering special subsidies for Muslim immigrants because, according to Donner, “it is not the government’s job to integrate immigrants.” The government will introduce new legislation that outlaws forced marriages and will also impose tougher measures against Muslim immigrants who lower their chances of employment by the way they dress. More specifically, the government will impose a ban on face-covering Islamic burqas as of January 1, 2013.
If necessary, the government will introduce extra measures to allow the removal of residence permits from immigrants who fail their integration course.
The measures are being imposed by the new center-right government of Conservatives (VVD) and Christian Democrats (CDA), with parliamentary support from the anti-Islam Freedom Party (PVV), whose leader, Geert Wilders, is currently on trial in Amsterdam for “inciting hatred” against Muslims.
As expected, Muslim organizations in Holland have been quick to criticize the proposals. The Moroccan-Dutch organization Samenwerkingsverband van Marokkaanse Nederlanders, which advises the government on integration matters, argues that Muslim immigrants need extra support to find a job. The umbrella Muslim group Contactorgaan Moslims en Overheid says that although it agrees that immigrants should be better integrated into Dutch society, it is opposed to a ban on burqas.
But polls show that a majority of Dutch voters support the government’s skepticism about multiculturalism. According to a Maurice de Hond poll published by the center-right newspaper Trouw on June 19, 74 percent of Dutch voters say immigrants should conform to Dutch values. Moreover, 83 percent of those polled support a ban on burqas in public spaces.
The proper integration of the more than one million Muslims now living in Holland has been a major political issue ever since 2002, when Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn was assassinated for his views on Muslim immigration, and since 2004, when Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh was stabbed to death for producing a movie that criticized Islam.
Muslim immigration to the Netherlands can be traced back to the 1960s and 1970s, when a blue collar labor shortage prompted the Dutch government to conclude recruitment agreements with countries like Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey. In the 1980s and 1990s, Muslims also arrived in the Netherlands as asylum seekers and refugees, mainly from Afghanistan, Bosnia, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and Somalia.
There are now an estimated 1.2 million Muslims in the Netherlands, which is equivalent to about 6 percent of the country’s overall population. Moroccans and Turks comprise nearly two-thirds of all Muslims in the Netherlands. Most Muslims live in the four major cities of the country: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht.
As their numbers grow, Muslim immigrants have become increasingly more assertive in carving out a role for Islam within Dutch society. For example, a documentary aired by the television program Netwerk in June 2009 reported that Dutch law was being systematically undermined by the growth of Sharia justice in the Netherlands.
In December 2004, the Dutch Ministry of the Interior published a 60-page report titled From Dawa to Jihad. Prepared by the Dutch intelligence agency AIVD, the report says that the Netherlands is home to up to 50,000 radical Muslims whose key ideological aim is to target the Western way of life and to confront Western political, economic, and cultural domination.
The report concludes that Dutch society is poorly equipped to resist the threat of radical Islam because of “a culture of permissiveness” that has become synonymous with “closing one’s eyes” to multiple transgressions of the law.
As for Interior Minister Donner, he has undergone a late-in-life conversion on the issue of Muslim immigration. In September 2006, while serving as justice minister, Donner provoked an outcry after saying that he welcomed the introduction of Islamic Sharia law in the Netherlands if the majority wants it. He also said Holland should give Muslims more freedoms to behave according to their traditions.
After applauding Queen Beatrix for respecting Islam by not insisting that a Muslim leader shake hands with her during a visit to the Mobarak Mosque in The Hague, Donner said: “A tone that I do not like has crept into the political debate on integration. A tone of: ‘Thou shalt assimilate. Thou shalt adopt our values in public. Be reasonable, do it our way.’ That is not my approach.”
Fast forward to 2011 and Donner now says his government “will distance itself from the relativism contained in the model of a multicultural society.” Although society changes, he says, it must not be “interchangeable with any other form of society.”
Egypt embraces lunacy

According to several reports in the Arabic media, prominent Muslim clerics have begun to call for the demolition of Egypt’s Great Pyramids—or, in the words of Saudi Sheikh Ali bin Said al-Rabi’i, those “symbols of paganism,” which Egypt’s Salafi party has long planned to cover with wax. Most recently, Bahrain’s “Sheikh of Sunni Sheikhs” and President of National Unity, Abd al-Latif al-Mahmoud, called on Egypt’s new president, Muhammad Morsi, to “destroy the Pyramids and accomplish what Amr bin al-As could not.”
Has the sun finally set for Egypt’s Great Pyramids?
This is a reference to the Muslim Prophet Muhammad’s companion, Amr bin al-As and his Arabian tribesmen, who invaded and conquered Egypt circa 641. Under al-As and subsequent Muslim rule, many Egyptian antiquities were destroyed as relics of infidelity. While most Western academics argue otherwise, according to early Muslim writers, the great Library of Alexandria itself—deemed a repository of pagan knowledge contradicting the Koran—was destroyed under bin al-As’s reign and in compliance with Caliph Omar’s command.
However, while book-burning was a simple process in the 7th century, destroying the mountain-like pyramids and their guardian Sphinx was not—even though many early Muslim leaders certainly tried; by the time gunfire was invented, Egypt’s Medieval Mamluk rulers even managed to “de-nose” the Sphinx during target practice (though popular legend naturally attributes it to a Westerner, Napoleon).
Now, however, as Bahrain’s “Sheikh of Sheikhs” observes, and thanks to modern technology, the pyramids can be destroyed. The only question left is whether Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood president is “pious” enough—if he is willing to complete the Islamization process that started under the hands of Egypt’s first Islamic conqueror.
Nor is such a course of action implausible. History is laden with examples of Muslims destroying their own pre-Islamic heritage—starting with Muhammad himself, who ransacked Arabia’s Ka’ba temple, transforming it into a mosque.
Asking “What is it about Islam that so often turns its adherents against their own patrimony?” Daniel Pipes provides several examples, from Medieval Muslims in India destroying their forefathers’ temples, to contemporary Muslims destroying their ancestors’ heritage in Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Malaysia, and Tunisia. Currently, in what the International Criminal Court is describing as a possible “war crime,” Islamic fanatics are destroying the ancient legacy of the city of Timbuktu in Mali—all to Islam’s triumphant war cry, “Allahu Akbar!”
Much of this hate for their own pre-Islamic heritage is tied to the fact that, traditionally, Muslims do not identify with this or that nation, culture, or language, but only with the Islamic nation—the Umma. Accordingly, while many Egyptians—Muslims and non-Muslims alike—see themselves first and foremost as Egyptians, Islamists have no national identity, identifying only with Islam’s “culture,” based on the “sunna” of the prophet and Islam’s language, Arabic. This sentiment was clearly reflected when the former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Muhammad Akef, recently declared “the hell with Egypt,” indicating that the interests of his country are secondary to Islam’s.
It is further telling that such calls are being made now—immediately after a Muslim Brotherhood member became Egypt’s president. In fact, the same reports discussing the call to demolish the last of the Seven Wonders of the Word, also note that Egyptian Salafis are calling on Morsi to banish all Shias and Baha’is from Egypt.
In other words, Morsi’s recent call to release the Blind Sheikh, a terrorist mastermind, from U.S. imprisonment, may be the tip of the iceberg in coming audacity. From calls to legalize Islamic sex-slave marriage to calls to institute “morality police” to calls to destroy Egypt’s mountain-like monuments, under Muslim Brotherhood tutelage, the bottle has been uncorked, and the genie unleashed in Egypt.
Will all those international institutions, which make it a point to look the other way whenever human rights abuses are committed by Muslims, lest they appear “Islamophobic,” at least take note now that the Great Pyramids appear to be next on Islam’s hit list, or will the fact that Muslims are involved silence them once again—even as those most ancient symbols of human civilization are pummeled to the ground?

BALANCED UNDERSTANDING OF ISLAM;
A reply to those who promote understanding of Islam. By Ahmed Simon
Surely, a better understanding of what others believe in and stand for, is a noble manifestation of a civilised society and should be encouraged, but hasn’t it got to be both ways (where Muslims try to understand non-Muslim religions as well).
To offer a balanced and factual understanding of Islam, here are the undeniable truth, the whole truth nothing but the truth. We will examine the religion of Islam in brevity, in relation to other religions.
Prophet Muhammad founded Islam. But unlike Prophets of all other religions who were inspired, directed and had dialogues with God himself, in the presence of numerous witnesses; but, the Quran in Surah 2:97 confirms that Angel Gabriel revealed the Quran to Prophet Muhammad “by Allah’s leave”. So it seems Allah’s monologues (revelations) was carried indirectly to Prophet Muhammad, without a single witness to these important monologues. These monologues received, are what is supposed to be in the Quran (Islam’s most Holy Tenet). But Prophet Muhammad was uneducated and completely illiterate (could not read or write), and with also a poor memory, unlike prophets of other religions, who were well educated. [The Question is, why didn’t Allah have a dialogue directly, (as with other prophets), instead of treating Prophet Muhammad as third rate, by going through a third party?]
The Hindu Vedas have more than 50,000 verses. The Buddhist Scriptures is more than 30,000 verses, the Taoists have more than 20,000 verses, the Bahai’s Scriptures, comprise 12,000 verses, against the Quran’s 6,241 verses (Quran is no match).
The Quran is one book, whereas the Bible comprises 66 books. The Quran has 433 pages (including List of Surah and General Index – in total), whereas the Bible is of 1,709 pages (not including pages on Foreword, Preface, List of Contents, 66 Book Covers, Map Index and Subject Index) (No match at all).
The verses in the Bible amount to a voluminous 31,173 (23,214 + 7,959) against the Quran’s paltry 6,241 verses. The Quran has 114 Surah (chapters) against the Bible’s 1,189 chapters. The Bible is made up of an incredible 774,746 (593,493 + 181,253) words. (The Quran is no match at all).
In substance, the Quran states in Surah 22:52 that Allah removed Satan’s verses in the Quran. (One wonders, why was Satan’s verses in the Quran in the first place). Also in Surah 16:101 Allah confirms that he removed some of his verses and replaced them with other verses. (One wonders, why Allah had to change/improve/polish his own works), but our God, the Almighty, did not need to make improvements and corrections in his Bible, as he is the One True God, perfect the first time, and supreme. (Why couldn’t Allah get it right the first time?)
Allah confirms in Surah 2:106 –“Such of our revelations as We abrogate (cancel) or cause to be forgotten, We bring (in place) one better or the like thereof.” (Canceling verses in the Quran? Forgotten? Why did Allah make such mistakes?)
The word ‘Islam’ means to submit or surrender to Allah (Muslim’s God). In surah 9:29, Muslims are commanded to kill Jews and Christians who do not submit or surrender to Allah. But the One true God Almighty only calls us to love everyone, unlike Allah. But in 9:5 Allah commands Muslims to slay (kill) all Idolaters. [But I suppose it is okay with Allah for Muslims to pray to a stone structure (Kaaba), and the black Stone embedded on its wall. (What hypocrisy?)]
Allah further says in the Quran to slay (kill) transgressors in Surah 2:191 “and religion is for Allah (only)”. The word ‘transgressors’ is as elastic as can be, and can mean anything. So how would anyone know the limits set to qualify as a transgressor (especially when there is no limits mentioned anywhere in the Quran)? How can a Muslim apply a judgment on a non-Muslim for transgression without even knowing what ‘transgression’ means (so it becomes a ‘free for all’, based on each individual perception, and authorised by the Quran/Allah)? When the school authorities call for ‘empathy’, they should first ask Muslims to empathise with the non-Muslims, who are at a loss with such ill defined, utterly unfair, all encompassing and wicked pronouncements of this Allah against them. What if the non-Muslims apply this same Surah on the Muslims? Isn’t ‘empathy’ a ‘two way street’? But we civilised non-Muslims, do not subscribe to a religion with such savage, inhuman, intolerant and evil hypothesis. (‘Allah’ is a Sanskrit word, specifically applied, from 2,500 B.C. to chant the Hindu Goddess Durga, spiritual spouse of Lord Siva).
Muslims used to face Mecca (Ka’aba) to pray initially. The Quran confirms, the direction to pray was changed from Mecca to Jerusalem (ignoring the Ka’aba). And hundreds of years later,another correction was made, to face Mecca again; all as per Surah 2:142 – 145. As God is everywhere, all non-Muslim religions are free to face in any direction to pray, and God would listen. Why try to focus on one spot on earth (Is Allah squatting there)? As the earth is round, the Muslims are actually producing a trajectory of focus, out to space. Technically, the American Muslims should look down towards their feet, through the earth, to come out on the other side of the Globe, towards Mecca. Unless you are within sight of the Kaaba, all Muslims are actually facing outer space to pray, and not Mecca. Didn’t Allah know the world is round, if he did create it? But it gets even better, when Allah confirms the earth is flat as in Surah 15:19, 78:6 & 88:20. In Surah 18:87 Allah specifically, states the sun sets into a muddy spring water on planet earth. (How the sun rises, daily, is another silly story as in Surah 18:91).
In Surah 4:7-14 Allah proclaims his Inheritance Law in painstaking detail; but the problem is, which ever way one computes, it doesn’t add up to 100% of the available inheritance (who goofed?). The Quran teaches in Surah 15:19, 21:31, 31:10, 78:7 & 88:19 that Allah threw down mountains, like pegs, to prevent the earth from shaking/wobbling. (Now, this will send Geologists & Volcanologists dumbfounded). In Surah 41:9-12, Allah confirms that he created the earth and the Heavens in two days, but in Surah 2:117 Allah confirms he created the Heavens and earth instantaneously. Allah goes further to confirm in Surah 7:54, 10:3, 11:7, & 25:59 that he took six days. But then again, Allah elaborates in Surah 41:9 to 12, to describe his creation of the Heavens and earth in 8 (2+4+2) days. (Now really, who is confused?).
A Muslim male inherits double that of a Muslim female, as stated in surah 4:11 and also a woman is only half a male witness. In surah 4:34 a Muslim husband is to whip (flog) his wife/wives to correct them, until she submits to him. There is no such gender discrimination and savagery in non-Muslim religions and every Christian is equal, in the ‘eyes of God’.
To spread Islam, Allah commands Muslims to kill unbelievers “in the name of Allah”, as in Surah 4:74. In the Bible, God tells us to love one another, and to show others by example.
In substance, the Quran has no Prophecy, no Miracles, no History, no Geography, no Chronology, no sequence, no Parables, no Biography of anyone, just a relatively small book of jumbled up verses of general do’s and don’t.
Islam is a complete miss-match with any other religion and in any standard, whichever way you look at it. These are undeniable facts.
(There are many more, contradictions, errors, stupidity, hatred, absurdity, violence, gender bias, savagery, intolerance, evil, in the Quran, that to associate it with God is blasphemy).
Now let’s go to the subject of fasting. Generally, all religions do practise fasting. The logic is to experience the suffering of the starving/poor; and also to share the sacrificed food/money with the starving/poor. But how does anyone fasting, ever understand a religion better, as claimed by the R.O. I. School authorities, really baffles me?
In Islam, over a 28 day period, fasting is practiced during daylight hours only (for about 12 hours), and the Muslims eat 3 to 5 very heavy meals, every 3 hours or so, over the hours of darkness, every night (when Allah can’t see?) to more than replace the missed food during the daylight hours. But by fasting during the day and over-eating (stuffing) in the night, the Muslims are actually spending more money and consuming more food than usual, in 24 hours; and no honest sacrifice is made, for the starving/poor. Later, they hypocritically come out with even more money/food pretending to share with the poor, what was never really sacrificed. Except for the first 2 days, conditioning your body to adapt to the consumption of food at night, instead of the day, (for example, night shift workers) defeats the very logical purpose of fasting and God knows no real sacrifice was made for the starving/poor, and the Muslims are cheating. This is another falsehood of Islam.
Haven’t the non-Muslims shown genuine empathy to the Muslims, by providing shelter and sustenance in their own numerous countries worldwide, when these Muslims came fleeing from persecution from their own Muslim comrades? In reply, to our kindness and generosity, the Muslims killed thousands of innocent non-Muslim men, women and children, in Bali, the Philippines, Jakarta, Xinjiang, Kashmir, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Sudan, Istanbul, Morocco, Algeria, Kenya, Chad, Niger, Chechnya, New York, Washington, (President Bush said in UK, “These are not dreams, but the reality”). Everyone knows the discrimination, abuse, sufferings, maiming, killings, etc inflicted on the non-Muslims by the Muslims, worldwide. No empathy was, and is shown by the Muslims for the non-Muslims. In fact, it has been shown on TV, the Muslims rejoice when non-Muslims are blown into unrecognisable bits and pieces.
In reality; we are already aware, of every Muslim terrorist group being led by a religious leader, well versed in the Quran. We are also aware of innocent-looking Muslims (around us) funded these terrorists for terror. You can’t take the Quran from a Muslim; but he will discard the Quran, on his own, if he becomes a non-Muslim. (I am an example of that).
Where did the Muslim ‘understanding’ go to (or do they have any conscience at all, through their Islamic nurturing), for the non-Muslims? Now, honestly, who needs ‘understanding and empathy’ against all this savagery, intolerance and evil?

In truth, the only religious text that grants the right of inheritance
to woman is the Qur'an. Indeed, many of the nations, termed
today as progressive, have conferred upon women the right to inheritance
only in the twentieth century. As for the Qur'an itself, it had
declared unequivocally in the seventh century itself that, “From what
is left by parents and those nearest related there is a share for men
and a share for women, whether the property be small or large, – a
determinate share…”(4:7)
According to the Old Testament of the Bible, only sons have
the right to inheritance. Therein can be seen verses, which suggest
that the wealth of the deceased is to be divided amongst the sons of
the deceased. (Deuteronomy 21:15-17). There is also the recommendation,
which requires that the daughters be given the right to inheritance
if there are no sons. “And you shall speak to the children of
Israel, saying: ‘If a man dies and has no son, then you shall cause his
inheritance to pass to his daughter” (Numbers 27:8). Even the widow
had no right in the wealth of her husband. (Rev.A.C.Clayton: Bible
Dictionary (Malayalam Version), P.113)
As far as the New Testament of the Bible is concerned, there
is no mention, whatsoever, of any proportioning of the wealth of inheritance
in it. The Christian church had, in all such matters, been following
the commandments of the Old Testament. It was precisely for this
reason that, until very recently, women had not the right to earn and
save – not to mention any right to inheritance – in all such areas where
the majority was Christian in population. It was in 1848 that women
were allowed to earn money in New York. It was in 1850 that the law,
which allowed for women to have the right to inheritance, came into
effect.
The Hindu scriptures, which saw woman as the private property
of man, and formulate laws in accordance thereof, does not even
make a mention of making her a beneficiery in the wealth of inheritance.
A reading of the Hindu books makes us to understand that the
wife is the private property of the husband, which he can always give
away in charity or for the use of another. Sudarshan who makes available
his wife for the entertainment of the guest (Mahabharath: commandments)
and Mithrasah who hands over his wife to Vasishta (Peace)
both are indicative of this. There is nothing in the Hindu scriptures,
which imply that the daughters are entitled to the wealth of their father.
Indeed, the Manusmrithi has laid down the law that it is the sons
who are entitled to the wealth of inheritance.

The Qur'an recognizes the right of the sons and daughters to
the wealth of their parents.Besides the right of the sons and daughters,
the Qur'an clearly recommends the exact share that the parents,
spouses and siblings of the deceased person have to be approportioned
from that person’s wealth. Indeed, the right of the son and daughter is
but a part of this share allotment. So goes the beginning of the Qur'anic
verses which deals extensively with the subject of inheritance: “God
(thus) directs you as regards your children’s (inheritance): to the male,
a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two or more,
their share is two thirds of the inheritance; if only one, her share is a
half . For parents, a sixth share of the inheritance to each, if the deceased
left children; if no children and the parents are the (only heirs),
the mother has a third, if the deceased left brothers (or sisters) the
mother has a sixth. (The distribution in all cases is) after the payment
of legacies and debts. Ye know not whether your parents or your
children are nearest to you in benefit. These are settled portions ordained
by God; and God is All knowing, All wise. In what your wives
leave, your share is a half, if they leave no child; but if they leave a
child , ye get a fourth; after payment of legacies and debts. If the man
or woman whose inheritance is in question, has left neither ascendants
nor descendants, but has left a brother or a sister, each one of the
two gets a sixth; but if more than two, they share in a third; after
payment of legacies and debts; so that no loss is caused (to anyone).
Thus is it ordained by God; and God is All-knowing, Most forbearing.”
( 4:11,12). In short, therefore, the son of the deceased is to have a
share in the inheritance that is twice to that of the daughter. However,
is this meant to be an act of discrimination towards the woman? Is this
a law that tends to highlight partiality towards the man? It will be of
benefit if the following facts are understood before any conclusions
are hastily arrived upon:
One: The Qur'an recognizes the right of woman to earn wealth.
Indeed, to earn as much as she desires. There is to be no right for the
man in any such earnings of hers. Her earnings will be hers alone.
Two: Under no circumstances will the protection and maintenance
of woman; children or the parents become the duty of the
woman. This then means that irrespective of how wealthy a woman
might be, she is not duty bound to bear the expenses of her own self,
children, parents or husband.
Three: Woman has the right to take, at the time of her marriage,
her dower from her husband. This dower (Mehr) is then effectively
treated as her own wealth.
Four: The protection of the family is the duty of man. It is man
who is duty bound to bear the expenses of his wife and children. Furthermore,
it is again his duty to protect his parents and other close
relatives. In effect, therefore, all financial burdens have to be borne
by man.
Five: Irrespective of how wealthy a wife might be, the husband
has no right, whatsoever, to take from any portion of her wealth without
her explicit permission.
The question may now be considered as to whether the Qur'an
has dealt justly or discriminatingly with the woman.
The wealth of inheritance received by woman is hers and hers
alone. None else has the right to this wealth. But what of that received
by man? He has to pay his marriage dower, take up the maintenance
of the women. And to bear her as well as the children’s expenses.
All falls under the responsibility of the man. Then is it man or
woman who has found favourable treatment in the Qur'an?
All other religious texts, which confer financial responsibilities
upon the man, have, in lieu of such duties, restricted the right to inheritance
with the man. As for the Qur'an, while it does stress upon the
fact that all financial burdens will be shouldered by man, it, nevertheless,
provides for the inheritance of woman as well. Indeed, by
approportioning half the inheritance of man to woman it has greatly
honoured her.
What then, can be the non-Qur'anic recommendations of the
critics on this subject? Two such recommendations may be raised:
1. Woman be given twice the wealth of man. Confer financial responsibilities upon woman.
2. Man and woman be given equal share in the wealth of inheritance.
Distribute financial responsibilities equally between them.
Both these recommendations seek to burden woman with the
yoke of financial responsibilities. This is an idea that is against the
very nature of womanhood. For, during times of pregnancy and childbirth
she yearns for the care and protection of the man. To burden
woman with financial responsibilities, as a rule, is to create conditions
of grave and far reaching consequences that will arise in the future.
As such, it is certain that the law which the Qur'an has put forward as
the subject of inheritance is, by far, the best that there is for woman’s
good.
Islamic countries have shown us what Islam is all about, so no need for any explanation from your side.

It is about your recent speech to the Alliance of Patriots in New York. In which you paint an apocalyptic picture of the Islamization of Europe. You describe some European cities with Muslim neighbourhoods in lurid terms. It is a world where women walk around in figureless tentsTheir husbands, or slave holders, if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. Mr Wilders, I live bang near one of those areas in West London. I often visit Whitechapel and Edgware Road parts of our colourful Londonistan I have never seen a Muslim woman walking behind her husband. Rather, the mothers stroll about in a proud, dignified manner, alongside the men. Nothing in their behaviour suggests a subordinate role, let alone slavery. And there are tons of lively, even feisty Muslim girls wearing all sorts of gear. True, they may not, as a rule, behave like permissive, liberated females, baring the flesh, hugging and kissing partners in public, no. I would even guess most of them dont sleep with boys before marriage. But since when are chastity, modesty and self-restraint so bad? The traditional, Christian mores of the Western civilisation which you claim to uphold used to prize such things, no?

Bernard Wassersteins thoughtful book, Israel & Palestine, points the way. Wasserstein shows how your fantasy of Israel as a heroic outpost of the West against the incoming Jihad is nonsense. Indeed, Israeli society today needs immigrants as much as Europe does. And they wont be Jewish immigrants. Despite your astonishing garbage about rising anti-Semitism in France (headed by a Jewish President!), Jews worldwide are happy where they are they not migrating to Israel or should I say Isra-hell, as my Israeli friend Ronen once wrote?
