Prof. Christian Perring: Teaching Ethics without Ethics
The following article has nothing to do with Islam. I am writing it to defend my property. You may even ignore it. It is about someone who teaches morality and ethics but does not practice them in his own life.

Looking for professional reviewers for my book, I was intrigued by the fact that Prof. Perring was a psychologist. My book is a psychobiography of Muhammad. So I wrote to him and asked whether he would be interested to review my book. He replied,

Fair enough, I thought. I asked my publisher to send a copy of the galley of my book to him. (The final edition is not yet printed.) I paid for the book and for the postage.
In the title page of the galley it is clearly written “Review copy – not for sale.”
Not only Prof. Perring did not review my book, he posted it on Amazon for sale at $41dollars. (The suggested price of the book is $18.95 and most likely it will sell for less.)
Another person did the same thing. He was offering the book for $999 dollars.
I wrote to both of them and told them what they are doing is unethical. The other vendor assured me that this was a mistake and removed the book. I am not going to reveal his name as I don’t wish to hurt his business and reputation.
But Prof. Christian Perring decided to ignore me. Instead, seeing that his copy is now the only copy of my book on Amazon he raised the price to $99 dollars.
In his site Prof. Perring introduces himself thusly.
“I am Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Dowling College, Long Island, New York. My main research interest is in philosophy of psychiatry and psychology, and I also work on medical ethics, moral psychology and personal identity. I am editor of Metapsychology Online Reviews, which is part of Mental Health Net.”
Since Prof. Perring ignores me, I would like to request his alumni, if anyone of them happens to read this report, to ask him what his definition of morality and ethics are.
In my opinion, his conduct is not ethical. I am sure that I am not his only victim. Probably many of the books he sells are illegally sold. Posing as a legitimate reviewer he is stealing customers from authors. This is not ethical.
I would like to inform anyone who might be interested to buy my book, that the final edition is not yet printed. There are many improvements in the final edition since the galley was printed. Please don’t buy the book until I announce that it is released. And if you ever receive a copy that says this book is for review, return it to the vendor for refund and give them a negative review. Scammers hurt people. Hurt them back so they learn to be honest.

I care a pigs farrrrrrrrrrrrrrt about Mohommad. Afterall these are men who lived donkeys ages ago. Wot we need is to worry about thugs and criminals who run around in todays world killing people , raping women and sleeping with underaged girls. The quicker we learn to stop worrying about long dead people and start to worry about people who are alive the better it is for all of us.
To understand these thugs and criminals you need to understand Muhammad. You can't get rid of the symptoms if you have no understanding of the disease. There are thousands of books that talk about the symptoms. My book is one of the few that diagnoses the root cause of this disease. Then again, you don't need a book to tell you Islam is bad. Isn't it obvious? My book solves the problem and explains the mystry of Muhammad and Islam. Once you read it, you will say to yourself now I understand why these people act in this way. And frankly, unless people understand Muhammad, Islam will go strong.

David J Lieberman is the man for you. He has written books about the deceit people use to cheat/harm others and how to detect them. He is the author of several books – Never Be Lied to Again, Instant Analysis, etc. But again, reviewing your book may land him into trouble or create a work conflict for him?
Secondly, there is Wafa Sultan, a psychiatrist. Thirdly, there is Danil Amen, again a psychiatrist.
Daniel Amen argues that some physical damage/change in the brain – causes one to behave differently. ADD, OCD, etc. in addition to being psychiatrict problem, can be due to the physical problems in the brain.
Again, and this is my pet argument. I would like to compare Islam with the movie, The Body Snatchers (1993). So much similar!!!!!!

I have read Holy books of all religions and done so very carefully. I cant think of any so called holy book that is devoid of violence and hate. We Christians and them Buddhists do have the luck of the irish because the people who decided to edit the Bible and the buddhist tantric writings managed to do so with commonsense by showing us the Saintly jesus and the equally saintly Siddartha Gotama . Muslims, Hindoos, Jews, Mormons and even Zorostrians dont have that luck because the prophets of their religions have been tarnished with a very ugly brush.

'Jennifer listen. Religious books are not literal or historical facts . They are works of mythology created by people of ancient times to explain the nature of the universe, life , evil and good. I dont believe that people such as Buddha, krishna, jesus, moses or even mohommad existed in real life. Mohommad, krishna and moses are midrashic charactors that were created to explain the violence in ancient times while jesus , ishiah and buddha explains the good side of life. Wot each one of us need to do is read these holy books without literalising them . God becomes good only when we use his/her name to make an inner journey in to our lives. Although in Arabic its well known meaning is the time between sunrise and meridian when the sun has risen high, at that height it does not only give light but heat too. Therefore, when the word duha is attributed to the sun, its full meaning can be expressed more appropriately by its radiant brightness than by its light, or by the time of the day that it indicates.
(91:2) and by the moon as it follows it;
(91:3) and by the day as it displays the sun's glory,
(91:4) and by the night as it envelopes the sun;2
*2 That is, when the night comes, the sun hides and its light remains hidden throughout the night. This state has been described, saying that the night covers up the sun, for the night actually signifies the sun's hiding behind the horizon because of which its light cannot reach that part of the earth where the night has fallen.
(91:5) and by the sky and by Him Who made it;3
*3 "Who established it": Who established it like a vault over the earth. In this verse and in the two succeeding verses, the word ma has been used. A section of the commentators has taken this ma as an infinitive, and interpreted these verses to mean "By the heaven and its being established, by the earth and its being spread out, and by the human self and its being balanced. " But this meaning is not correct for the reason that the following sentence: "then inspired it with its wickedness and its piety", does not fit in with the context. Other commentators have taken ma here in the meaning of mun or alladhi and they interpret the sentence to mean: "Who established the heaven, who spread out the earth, and who balanced the human self. " This second meaning is correct in our view, and no one can object that ma in Arabic is used of lifeless things and irrational creatures, For in the Qur'an itself there are numerous instances that ma has been used in the meaning of mun, e.g. we la antum `abiduna ma a `bud ("nor are you the worshippers of Him Whom I worship"), fankihu ma taba lakun~-mia-an-nisa ` ("so, marry from among the women those whom you like") .wa la tanlkihu ma nakaha abaa ukum min-nisa' ("do not marry those women whom your fathers had married").

And the thunder exalts [Allah] with praise of Him – and the
angels [as well] from fear of Him – and He sends thunderbolts
and strikes therewith whom He wills while they dispute about
Allah; and He is severe in assault.[13:13]
The mention of the fact that the angels are filled with awe of their Lord, and they proclaim His praise has a special significance here. This is to refute the shirk of the ignorant people who have always worshiped the angels as gods and deities and believed them to be partners with God in His Godhead. It has been stated that they are not partners with Allah but His most obedient servants; so much so that they praise Him and are filled with awe of Him.
He has countless plans and measures which are so effective and sudden that He can smite anyone with any one of them from any side He wills. So much so that the intended victim is absolutely unaware of it. This is a proof that those people, who say absurd things about such All- Powerful Being, are absolutely void of sense.

The crucial words "[as if]" are an INTERPOLATION into the text – they do not exist in the Arabic.
When you you "reach the West"? I could walk (and swim etc.) West for ever, circling the globe without reaching a point that was "the West" in the sense that you imply.
Have you ever really "found the sun setting in water?" One may see a sunset over water, but not in it!
Where does the Koran say that DK was "feeling" that the Sun set in a muddy puddle! The Koran says "He found it setting in a muddy puddle", not "He felt as if it were …"
Remember, the Koran says it s "clear" over fifty times. Unless you wish to claim that the Koran falsifies itself, then it must mean what it says, rather than what you wish it to.

Even your "rebuttal" states that star-matter is shot at Devils to drive them away! Problem is that "shooting stars" are meteorites falling to Earth, so unless all the devils are in the Earth's atmosphere then that's a non-starter too. Oh, whoops – the Devils are listening in on "celestial conversations" that means "conversations between / in the stars" , so no, the Devils are not in Earth atmosphere.
Also: at stellar ranges (except Sol of course) we would not see the ejected stellar matter (unless a supernova or similar catastrophic event) with the naked eye, so these "falling stars" can't be that either!

And? You do not address the point in "By the Sun … and the Moon as it follows it"
Logically the "it" is the Sun, thus the verses say "By the Sun and the Moon as it follows the Sun".
But we know that the Moon does not follow the Sun. Clearly implicit here is that both Sun and Moon orbit the Earth. Again I'll refer you to the fact that the Koran claims to be clear.

To be fair, I can almost understand this one from the Islamic perspective. After all, in Islam, everything that happens is "Allah's will" ("Inshallah") therefore Allah does cause thunder and hurl lightening, rather than those being natural phenomena caused by electrical charge imbalance.

Tauraat is the scripture that was given to Moosa (a). Similarly,
the Zaboor and the Injeel are the books that were given to Dawood (a)
and Isa (a). The Qur’an introduces the scriptures as those that were
revealed by the Lord Creator Himself. “It was We who revealed
the Torah (to Moses): therein was guidance and light.” (5:44)
“And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary,
confirming the Torah that had come before him: We sent him the
Gospel: therein was guidance and light.” (5:46)
From this it is abundantly clear that these scriptures were all in
fact, revealed by the Lord Creator Himself. But this is not the case
with the books of the Bible. They were all written centuries after the
messengers. Indeed, there is not even a single book in the Bible
which can reasonably be believed to have been revealed to the
messengers. It is the traditional belief of the Jews that Moses (a),
himself, had written the Pentateuch (Torah); not that it was revealed
by God. However, modern research indicates that even the traditional
belief that Moses had written the Pentateuch is, in itself, baseless. It
is the opinion of the scholars that since the death of Moses, and the
events that followed his death, have been described in the Pentateuch
(Deuteronomy 34:5-10), it can never be that Moses (a) had written
the book himself. Similar is the case of the Book of Psalms. In actual
fact, there is not in it, a single Psalm that can be authoritatively said to
have been written by David. In the Gospels, too, although there is
mention, therein, of the true Gospel of God which Jesus had actually
preached (Mark 1:14,15), there is no clear picture about this Gospel
in the four accounts in the Bible. As for the Gospels in the New
testament, it was written at least five decades after Jesus. The gospels
give but vastly differing and contradictory accounts of the life of Jesus.
It is now clear that none of these was the true scripture that was revealed
to Jesus. In short, therefore, even though the various books of the
Bible do quote certain ideas from the Tauraat, the Zaboor and the
Injeel, it cannot be said that they are present in the Bible in all their
fullness and purity.
Oops that should've read if you are SAYING, not denying, that the Bible and Torah have been corrupted and changed you are saying the Quran is false.
Ali Sina, the question ist not whether or not Mr. Perring's behavior is "unethical" but it is against the law. So why don't you contact a lawyer and sue him?
That costs a lot. I think I have done far more damage to him by this article. I didn't want to do it. In fact I did not identify the other guy who was doing the same. But Perring, ignored my letter and gave me the middle finger by raising the price of the book. I want to practice forgiveness and I do it when I see response. The response of Perring was not the correct response. He won't be able to sell that galley. If people want to read the book now, all they have to do is write to me and I send them the PDF of the earlier edition. Perring only damaged his own reputation. People who search his name will read this article. He made two mistakes. One was to sell a book that was not for sale and he received for free and the other was when he ignored my letter and decided to raise the price. Maybe he did that to irritate me. But he hurt himself badly.
Try reporting him to Amazon.com and see if they can intercede on your behalf to get the sale removed.

I was sorry to hear about your experience with the above rip-off merchant. What terrible thing to do. I can understand your annoyance and possible rage at his actions. Furthermore, the Bible and Torah have been corrupted even though we know for an absolute fact that they are among the most reliable historical documents from any era prior to the year one. The koran on the other hand was scribbled down on sheep bones in the desert and survived without corruption in one, single, eternal form, in spite of the rumors that there were several korans until all the other korans were exterminated by the authorities. Dear Dr Ali Sina, like you, I'm also disappointed and mad with this ball less man, for cheating you. From here, I learnt that not all professors in pyschiatry or psychology ie. Christian Perring can be trusted at all, even though he has obtained a PhD. I think that his name deserved to be changed changed from Christian Perring to Cheater Perring, since he like to be a swindler. But it's really mind boggling and amusing to know how a 'professor' who has a PhD in psychiatry, can stoop so low as to tarnish his own fame and reputation by such a small amount of profit, which is less than a hundred US dollars! I believe that there will always be some black sheeps in every trade and this greedy and unethical professor, Dr Christian Perring, is one such black sheep and I think that all the psychiatrists in New York and all of America should blacklist him and take note of his unethical conduct. Dr Ali Sina also mentioned another unethical businessman, another black sheep, who did exactly the same thing to him too. I guess that these two black sheeps must be either really poor or greedy, that's why, they have to sell Dr Ali Sina's book at such a skyrocketed price.
This so-called "Professor" should be stripped of his doctorate for his abysmal and unethical behaviour. I have heard of knighthoods being withdrawn for similar behaviour to this.

1/ Have you contacted Amazon to advise them that he has stolen your work?
2/Have you contacted the shrink assossiation about his theft of your work, and illegal selling it for his profit?
