Next Act of Terror May
be Nuclear
by Bill Wilson,
Washington, D.C., correspondent
Experts say the pieces
are already in place.
Up to 75 percent of Americans believe an act of terrorism in this country is
likely in the near future according to polls conducted by Associated Press,
CNN/USA Today and Fox News. But most are not overly concerned.
What the overwhelming majority of Americans seem to sense, that a terrorist
attack on U.S. soil is inevitable, is confirmed by former a FBI consultant and
author of "Osama's Revenge: The Next 9/11." Paul Williams said that
attack could be nuclear.
"Intelligence agencies throughout the world have come to a common
consensus," he said, "and it was voiced by Warren Buffet, an attack of
nuclear terrorism is imminent."
President George W. Bush seems to be quite aware of that threat. He
specifically mentioned nuclear weapons in his speech about terrorism last week.
"We're working with our allies to share information, and to prevent
terrorists from obtaining weapons of mass destruction," he said.
"Together with our allies, we uncovered and dismantled Libya's nuclear
program. We worked with Pakistan and other nations to shut down the world's most
dangerous nuclear trading network."
Williams, however, said the threat is already here.
"These cells, I know, are already established," he said.
"They're established with the help of the various mosques throughout the
country. Eighty percent of the mosques in the US right now . . . have been
radicalized."
Both Williams and the President agree the Patriot Act must be strengthened
and renewed to protect America against the terrorist threat
