Dear free spirit.you may not believe it.I was in awe of Islam,partly because we were fed on a secular diet of education from a tender age(supressing or bashing hinduism),partly because Hinduism is a loosely packed religion & finally we can never get communal.But thanks to the net,the picture is much clearer.

It is good that you do that. I lived in an Islamic country for a while and I found that a lot of Muslims differ...their opinions and understanding of Islam differ that is to say. I know there is no such thing as a "moderate" Muslim, but some seemed to be more liberal than others. I'd see some Muslims women with no hajabb, some covering part of their hair with it, some fully covering their hair...and of course some covering just about everything. There was an issue once as to whether I should have been wearing sandles or not....some ppl in my x-family didn't care, but hubby) (ex) said for me not to....so...yeah, just another example from my experience....some don't care and live their lives as they want...they are only Muslim by identity....then there are those who are religious...then...the extremists....poor souls with no spirit...no good one anyway.

I think it is because many women feel they have no choice.....probably they'd rather be there taking care of their own children vs. being dead or beaten. I know there were many times I said nothing for frear of getting slapped or even the silent treatment from everyone in the house.

Well that's not always the case. I remember forumers from ffi ridiculed a verse which says that dirt must be used for ablution before prayer if water isn't around. I can't recall which book this verse is from though.

that's exactly my experience when I went to world book fair host in new delhi. I went to bathroom only to turn back when I saw floor filled with faeces. It was filled to the extent that two bricks that placed right next to each other, for a person to stand on, were almost level with poop. If JC did give moral lessons he should or could have used the stories with eternal truth and not sories that can later be ridiculed, that is if he was really son of god. Hitler hated Jews, not for religion, but he needed a scapegoat, as he believed in Democratic Socialism and most Jews in the 1900's were communist. During this time the terms conservative and secular Jew was born. Due to the hatred of Jews, this was born after the members of the churches of Christendom made remarks similar to IslAm against the Jews since Roman catholism (universalism) blaming Jews for the death of Jesus, when it was Rome who had power to kill anyone. Jews had no power, just their disdain for Jesus. Jesus was taking their power over the Jewish people, releasing them from bondage from the Mosaic Law, which no one ever kept. This kept the rabbis in power, under Judaism which was established while the Jews were in Babylon/Persia during the captivity in the 5th century BCE.

The Bible was not written by GOD, but 42 Jewish men, all 66 books. Jews were well educated. Muslim's Quran was written by a god who said the earth is flat and men can beat women and blacks are cursed and whites are blessed.

I have read the holy books of most religions, and found the Bible to be the only one for all people. I am not a follower of anyone, just want the facts.
